Acclaimed South African singer-songwriter Steve Louw returns with a powerful new single, “Across The River,” offering listeners a deeply evocative preview of his forthcoming album, Traces of the Flood, set for release on May 15, 2026.
Released Friday, April 10, the new single is available on all streaming platforms HERE. Watch the music video on YouTube HERE. Pre-order the new album HERE.
“Across The River” is a slow-burning, emotionally resonant track that blends Louw’s signature storytelling with stripped-back instrumentation and atmospheric depth. The song explores themes of longing, separation, and transcendence, anchored by imagery that is both intimate and expansive.
With its recurring motif of crossing over, physical, emotional, and perhaps even spiritual, the single captures a sense of inevitability and enduring connection.
Driven by poetic lyricism, the track unfolds like a quiet reckoning. Lines such as “These four walls all I see / And I think of you” and “We’ll meet across the riverside” suggest both confinement and hope, while the refrain, “I’ll be with you, my love,” lingers as a promise that transcends circumstance. The narrative is deeply personal yet universally accessible, allowing listeners to project their own interpretations onto its layered meaning.
Musically, “Across The River” leans into a minimalist arrangement, allowing Louw’s voice and lyrics to take centre stage. Subtle textures and a measured pace create a sense of tension and release, mirroring the emotional arc of the song itself. The result is a track that feels timeless, rooted in classic songwriting traditions while remaining distinctly contemporary.
The single serves as a compelling introduction to Traces of the Flood, an album that promises to further explore themes of memory, resilience, and the passage of time. While full details of the album remain under wraps, “Across The River” hints at a body of work that is both reflective and sonically rich, marking a significant chapter in Louw’s ongoing artistic evolution.
Speaking about the release, Louw notes that the song emerged from a place of introspection: a meditation on connection in moments of uncertainty, and the enduring pull of love across distance and adversity.
Cut live in the studio with a full-tilt, rocking band, “Across the River” delivers a high-octane cry out to the ghosts that haunt us, to lost love, and to redemption. We all carry spirits with us, converse with them and wait to meet them all again, “Across the River”.
With “Across The River,” Steve Louw once again demonstrates his ability to craft music that resonates on a deeply human level, understated yet profound, intimate yet far-reaching.
“Across The River” is available now on all major streaming platforms. Traces of the Flood will be released on 15 May 2026.
CONSECRATION will release their highly anticipated fourth full-length album, “Exanimis”, on CD, LP and MC format on May 29, 2026, via Nuclear Winter Records.
Marking a decisive step forward in songwriting, composition and artistic authority, the album channels the core elements of the band’s early sound and their unwavering love for ’90s death-doom, merging them into a more resolute, heavier sonic identity. Drawing on the glorious British tradition of the genre – from early My Dying Bride and Enchantment to Decomposed – CONSECRATION reinterpret these influences with a contemporary perspective, weaving atmospheric doom, crushing riffs and occasional sharp, impact-driven death metal passages into a cohesive, striking whole.
“Exanimis” is dark, decadent and at times mercilessly biting, balancing melancholic atmospheres with raw intensity. The record demonstrates not only a reverence for the legacy of doom and death but also the band’s relentless drive to expand their own sound, asserting CONSECRATION as a commanding presence in the modern extreme metal scene and setting a new benchmark for their evolving career.
The first single “Herald of Darkness” is streaming HERE.

CONSECRATION are a death-doom metal band from Norwich, UK, formed in 2010. With a relentless blend of crushing doom and old-school death metal, they craft music steeped in death, darkness and despair, steadily carving a global reputation in extreme metal.
Since their debut, “Ephemerality” (2014, UKEM Records), CONSECRATION have grown continuously, reissuing the album in 2023 through Cavernous Records with new artwork and compiling early material in 2018’s “Remembrance”. Their sophomore album, “Fragilium” (2019, Solitude Productions), earned critical acclaim and drew thousands YouTube views, signaling the band’s expanding influence.
The third album, “Cinis” (2022, Redefining Darkness Records), marked a major step forward, featuring guest vocals from Dave Ingram (Benediction) and mastering by Greg Chandler (Esoteric). The album received top reviews from Metal Forces, Distorted Sound, and Blabbermouth.net. Singles such as “The Dweller in the Tumulus” reached thousands of fans online, while live appearances—including Esoteric’s 30th Anniversary and UK Deathfest 2022—solidified their stage presence.
The 2021 EP “Reanimated” was reissued in 2025 as a hand-made limited edition that sold out in two hours, demonstrating the dedication of their growing fanbase.
Their fourth album, “Exanimis”, recorded at Priory Studios, Birmingham, will be released in spring 2026, featuring Paul Jones (Enchantment) and Rich Mumford (Malediction), with in-house artwork and mixing/mastering by Greg Chandler. CONSECRATION continue to push boundaries, evolving relentlessly and establishing themselves as a rising force in international death-doom.

Brazilian rock trio ELECTRIC MOB are proud to share the new live version of “4 letters,” taken from the upcoming digital deluxe edition of their sophomore album ‘2 Make U Cry & Dance,’ set for release on July 10th via Frontiers Music Srl. The digital deluxe edition will feature the full studio release alongside six live tracks performed at Capital Moto Week 2024.
On the live version of “4 letters,” the band shares: “It’s a deep honest declaration of the reality of love. For someone, something or simply yourself. We often downplay or trivialize feelings like it’s nothing, and ‘4 letters’ is a wake up call to love and to mean it.”
Without hiding their classic rock influences and driven by a modern, restless vision, ELECTRIC MOB are unafraid to break away from clichés and push rock fans beyond their comfort zone.
Hailing from Curitiba, Brazil, the band burst onto the scene like a mad dog on the loose with their debut album ‘DISCHARGE’ (2020). Raw, unapologetic, and emotionally charged, the record broke through borders, surprising international audiences and carving out space on rock radio stations throughout the United States and Europe.
In January 2023, the band released their second album, ‘2 MAKE U CRY & DANCE,’ earning positive reviews across multiple countries. This was followed by a Brazilian headlining tour through 12 cities in six different states. The momentum continued as ELECTRIC MOB joined forces with Project 46 for a nationwide run that expanded into Brazil’s Northeast.
Their live streak carried into 2024 and 2025 with a strong presence at major festivals, including Summer Breeze Brasil, now known as Bangers Open Air, where Billboard Brasil cited the band as “one of the most praised performances of the event.” Additional highlights include a main stage appearance at Capital Moto Week, which resulted in the live recording ‘Live @ Capital Moto Week,’ and performances at Porão do Rock (DF), Mundial Rock (SC), SBO Rock Fest (SP), and HackTown (MG).
On the upcoming deluxe release, vocalist Renan Zonta comments:
“We’re thrilled to release this super special edition of something we’re very proud of. The DLX version of our second album ‘2 Make U Cry & Dance’ comes with kickass live and raw cuts and it’s here to reinsure the power inside this beautiful cake. Give it an extra spin while we’re cooking a new one ⚡️😈”
Guitarist Ben Hur adds:
“We’ve always considered ourselves a band forged on stage. That’s where everything truly comes to life. In this deluxe release of our second album, we’re capturing a part of that energy and sharing it with fans who haven’t yet had the chance to experience it with us in person.”

With their breakout runs supporting Born Of Osiris and currently Lacuna Coil and Escape The Fate, millions of cross platform streams, and their explosive pre-album singles “selfish”, “fragile” and “dismay”, emerging Brazilian metalcore talent AXTY have been inescapable over the last year. Now, what it has all been building to, the band announce their Napalm Records debut, The Pain Made Me Who I Am, dropping August 21, 2026.
Alongside the announcement, the band unleashes the record’s cataclysmic closer “end this”, an onslaught of aggression nu and core. Thunderous drumming, bone shattering breakdowns, and a truly inhuman vocal performance from vocalist Felipe Hervoso, this track is violently delicious.
AXTY about “end this”: “One of the most pessimistic moments on the record, this track serves as a closing statement that encapsulates the album’s overarching emotional arc. ‘end this’ portrays a character shaped by accumulated trauma, depression, and intrusive, self-destructive thoughts. Themes that unfold progressively throughout the release. Positioned as the final track, the song leans into a sense of exhaustion and finality, reinforced by the recurring line ‘please end this,’ while subtly subverting its own premise in the opening verse: ‘so here we go again, another song about how I hate myself.’ Musically, it stands out as one of the heaviest and most sonically challenging pieces on the album, featuring its most dissonant chorus to date. This deliberate stylistic contrast mirrors a state of dissociation, culminating in a drifting, almost delirious reflection captured in the line: ‘why try so long here if all we touch will rot and sear.’”
With their new album, AXTY explore universal lyrical themes of self-evolution through harnessing pain and resilience born from adversity, transforming negative experiences into fuel for growth. Moments of barbarism and serenity all tied together with infectious grooves, pristine production, and an unwavering dedication to brutality. Throughout its 12 tracks, The Pain Made Me Who I Am proves AXTY as a visionary force to watch in the ever-expanding modern metalcore scene – inarguably poised for star status as they climb the ranks.
AXTY about The Pain Made Me Who I Am: “The Pain Made Me Who I Am revolves around human emotions, particularly the darker, more difficult ones. However, rather than dwelling on suffering, we focused on the role these emotions play in personal growth and self-evolution. Resilience born from adversity, the idea that growth and self-discovery are deeply rooted in struggle, we wanted to explore how negative experiences, rather than defining us in a limiting way, become the very foundation of who we are.”
The Pain Made Me Who I Am delivers the goods from note one as earth-shattering intro track “pain made me” pulls out all of the stops – crashing in with dense down-tuned guitar chugs beneath hip-hop charged samples. Anthemic “who I am” showcases the band’s seamless, genre-pushing blend with intense polyrhythmic deathcore passages and soaring metalcore melodies, while tracks like “all I love” incite pure metallic violence with the band’s erratic trademark guitar acrobatics, hypnotic drum patterns and addictive vocals – both crushing and clean – showcasing the broad talents of frontman Felipe Hervoso, drummer Gabriel Vacari and guitarist Jonathas Peschiera. Particularly, Hervoso’ keen ability to dramatically tilt his vocal approach from crooning cleans to virtually superhuman screams, growls and squeals will have his name on the lips of deathcore vocal enthusiasts in no time. Songs like “nothing but pain” inject heavy doses of the futuristic metalcore fusion AXTY has become lauded for, while album standouts like first single/album closer “end this” weave alternative and even nu-metal flavor into the album’s addictive mix.

Swedish progressive metal masterminds EVERGREY share another single off their new album, Architects Of A New Weave, out June 5, 2026 via Napalm Records. Full of regret, “The World Is On Fire” stages personal emotions as global pain, the apology reverberating, resonating. Enormous, cinematic melodies pull the listener upward, driven by riffs with genuine weight and bite, while vocals dripping with raw, unflinching truth give voice to a deep, aching sense of longing.
That longing finds its most intimate expression in the dead of night—when you pull your loved one close, just to feel them breathe—and are confronted with a devastating realization: the promise of a safe tomorrow is a lie you can no longer keep. “The World Is On Fire” comes with an official music video and also marks the official introduction of guitarist Stephen Platt (Scar Symmetry), who had already been touring with EVERGREY as a live guitarist in 2025. He now officially joins as a full-time band member.
EVERGREY about the new guitar player: “We played a lot of shows with Stephen Platt already, he’s an incredibly lovely human being on top of being a brilliant guitar player, we couldn’t be happier to have him join us for real!
Stephen Platt reflects: “I’m so happy to become the new guitarist of EVERGREY. I’ve been a fan of the band for a long time now and am extremely honored to have been asked by this group of incredible musicians and people. Looking forward to seeing what the future holds!”
Tom S. Englund about the new single “The World Is On Fire”: “‘The World Is On Fire’ was one of those rare songs that reached inside me and articulated feelings I hadn’t even fully recognized yet. Once again, our timing, just as with the song ‘Save Us’ is both haunting and profound. To me, this isn’t just a lament—it’s an uprising. It’s a defiant stand against the forces that thrive on chaos, fear, and silence. They want us scared, quiet, and compliant. But all we want is to raise free-spirited, free-thinking, and independent children who can help build a better world—for us, for them, and for everyone. The devastating lack of compassion and humanity is at the root of everything we see around us. This song isn’t passive acceptance or mere description of our broken reality. It’s us boldly painting a picture of the world we refuse to accept.”
EVERGREY ’s new full-length, Architects Of A New Weave, will be released just days before the band takes the stage as special guest to the undisputed kings of heavy metal, Iron Maiden, for two shows on their Run For Your Lives World Tour. This is the wake-up call you didn’t know you needed: a plunge into thinning air, burning worlds, and lingering guilt—only to break free with fierce momentum. The album refuses to wallow. It ascends—fast, heavy, and cinematic. But it refuses to hide in the dark. It rises: quick, fierce, and utterly transformative.
Tom S. Englund about Architects Of A New Weave: “We’ve literally never had this much trouble picking singles. And honestly? That’s the best problem we could possibly have. Every song on this record is fighting to be the one you hear first—because we poured everything into making an album we’re flat-out obsessed with. Like always there are no fillers, no compromises, just twelve tracks we’re stupidly proud of and will be for the rest of our lives. Pre-order the album now and join the weave!”
Dive into Architects Of A New Weave’s standout tracks like “The World is on Fire”, “Leaving The Emptiness”, “Heaven”, and “The Prophecy”, and the breathtaking title anthem “Architects Of The New Weave”. Their choruses break through like sunlight piercing storm clouds: enormous, cinematic melodies that pull you upward, riffs with genuine weight and bite, and vocals dripping with raw, unflinching truth. In one breath, you’re shouldering buried longing; in the next, you’re weightless, fearless, endless. Scars transform into badges of survival, fractures fuel reinvention. In the second half of the album, fellow Gothenburg icon Mikael Stanne (Dark Tranquillity, The Halo Effect, Grand Cadaver, Cemetery Skyline) joins Tom S. Englund in vocal duties for “A Burning Flame”, the voices of the two scene legends intertwined compellingly. Architects Of A New Weave was produced by Tom S. Englund and Vikram Shankar, with a stellar mix by Adam “Nolly” Getgood.
Among other exclusive formats, Architects Of A New Weave comes with a bonus album, containing bonus tracks “Heights” and “One Heart”, as well as an album mix of the previously released standalone single “OXYGEN!” (2025). Additionally, it features a demo version of “Longing”, instrumental tracks of “Leaving The Emptiness”, both new songs, as well as a live version of “Falling From The Sun”, the hit single off the previous record, Theories of Emptiness (2024) and continuation of “Ominous” off of A Heartless Portrait (The Orphean Testament) (2022).

Chaos doesn’t claim victory—you do. You step forward as the weaver, rethreading belief, identity, connection, and the very shape of tomorrow into something stronger, brighter, unbreakable. This is melodic, progressive, dark metal at its most massive and intimate: heavy enough to shift mountains, anthemic enough to make you raise your fist and truly believe it. It carries one unshakable truth straight to your core: Nothing—not pain, not darkness, not any storm—gets to label you broken. You’re the power that gathers the fragments and forges real beauty from them. Dream weavers rising. Architects are stepping up to claim what comes next. If you’ve ever felt that inner tug—quiet or roaring—to rewrite your story on your own terms, with zero apologies and complete ownership, this is the soundtrack that turns the urge into certainty. Your battle cry. Your hymn for renewal, creation, and finally stepping into the person you’re destined to be. Whether it launches EVERGREY’s boldest era yet, stands as a fierce standalone declaration, or serves as the pivotal bridge chapter that redefines their path, Architects Of A New Weave is pure cinematic motivation—ready to charge your playlist and propel your momentum forward. It’s as though EVERGREY don’t merely survive adversity—they rise and expand because of it. Every challenge, every setback, every wound seems to become the very oxygen that fuels their music. The darker the storm that once threatened to break them, the more powerfully each note draws breath from that same pain, transforming what hurt them yesterday into the soaring, living heart of their songs today. Architects Of A New Weave seals it: we are no longer victims of the night, but creators of new skies, new beliefs, and entirely new heavens. Grab it now. Let it arm you. This isn’t just an album – it’s the sound of you seizing control and building what’s next.

New York death metal icons IMMOLATION have unleashed their twelfth studio album, Descent. This monumental release arrives on the eve of the band’s North American takeover.
To commemorate their new release, the band has unleashed their latest single, ‘Bend Towards The Dark.’ The track is a sonic assault, fusing the band’s trademark sound with menacing leads and a barrage of merciless blasts.
Immerse yourself in the darkness. Experience the new visual for ‘Bend Towards The Dark’ at the link below: https://youtu.be/ma9KpLwqZJs
IMMOLATION comments: “We are excited to get one more single out as our new album DESCENT is finally released! “Bend Towards The Dark” is definitely one of the more ambitious tracks of the record. It has just about every element you would expect from IMMOLATION, but takes things a bit further. It’s intense and heavy, yet becomes very epic and almost orchestral at times, really embodying a lot of feeling and emotion throughout. We really look forward to having ‘Bend Towards The Dark’ out there to ignite the release of DESCENT! We hope everyone enjoys it!”
IMMOLATION are currently trekking across North America for their Spring 2026 run. The tour features the band alongside BEHEMOTH on the massive ‘The Godless IV’ lineup, joined by DEICIDE and ROTTING CHRIST, with several additional dates interspersed throughout the journey.

The production was a collaborative effort between the band and long-time engineer Zack Ohren, who also handled the mixing and mastering. The result is a muscular, high-fidelity production that captures the band’s most fiery and brooding moments with equal clarity. To call Descent “heavy” or “brutal” is an understatement; this is death metal with a unique, elevated voice that stands entirely alone.
Visually, the band has once again tapped Eliran Kantor to craft a haunting cover masterpiece—a true hallmark of the Immolation aesthetic— complemented by Santiago Jaramillo’s (Triple Seis Design) internal booklet illustrations.
