JOHNNY O’NEIL announces his new live album “Live at Le Musique Room”, out now on Bearded Maggie Records. The live album features a live performance of a brand new song “Lover” that will be released on his upcoming new studio album.
JOHNNY O’NEIL “Lover” Official Music Video from the Album “Johnny O’Neil Live at Le Musique Room”:
Talking about the new live album, Johnny O’Neil said, “Our new live album was recorded in a very intimate theater setting at Le Musique Room, opening for our good friends, Bobby Jensen and the Dead Cowboys. The album represents a true inflection point for our band. After our former guitarist, John Funk, informed us last spring that, “I just have no passion to play hard rock anymore,” we had to decide whether to replace him with another second guitarist. We very briefly considered holding auditions, but rather than going through the agony (and time!) of that process, we elected to forge ahead as a three-piece, and have never looked back or regretted our decision.
The album features songs from our first two studio albums, as well as a brand new track, “Lover,” a tune I wrote about a fellow who has watched a woman being mistreated by someone from afar, and tells her to “leave him – c’mon with me”! “Lover” is the first single from our upcoming third studio album, which again will be co-produced, recorded, and mixed by Johnny’s “Blood Brother,” the incomparable Brian Bart. We cannot wait for our fans to hear us get back to our hard rock roots – this time as a three-piece!”

Florida rock band Gunshine released their second single, “Valentine,” offering fans a taste of their forthcoming full-length album, Grand Rising, due out digitally on July 24 through vnclm_ / Create Music Group.
While the digital release of Grand Risingarrives later this summer, fans won’t have to wait long to get their hands on the record. Physical copies of the album, including CD and double vinyl editions, alongside exclusive Gunshine merchandise, are available for purchase online at https://gunshine.diggers.store/ The CD and double vinyl will also be sold through the band at upcoming live shows.
“It’s the oldest song in my collection and I’m glad it made the cut. The lyrics were written when I was 15 years old,” says Jordan Benson. “Austin and I sat down, came up with an arrangement and there it was. The song was written about the kind of relationship I wanted to have, perfectly in love. Regardless of life problems, the love between a couple should always be the easiest.”
“Jordan, along with being a great singer, is a great piano player as well. We wanted to showcase that a bit more on this record. When he and I were going through song ideas for the record, he mentioned he had an old idea and played me a rough version of the song with piano and one vocal track. I thought it was really interesting, and had a cool chord progression. I then took it home and put my spin on some melodies, and had fun with the production. I had a vision to pull it into a dramatic, epic 80’s kind of vibe adding a Phil Collins inspired drum loop, Boston inspired lead guitar with the use of the Rockman, and many extra vocal layers,” adds Austin Ingerman.
“We tracked the whole record, (except “Goth Girl” and “Single Looks Good On You”), in Las Vegas with producer/mixer Chris Collier (Korn, Mick Mars, Whitesnake, Lynchmob). I’ve been working with Chris for about 9 years now. He’s incredibly talented, has a great ear, and adds a heavy hitting production value that makes the songs sonically translate very well.”
“‘Valentine’ was one of the last songs we tracked for the record. When Chris heard the song he really liked it, and further dug into the production. He added a really cool string arrangement, and just made everything sound massive. He also tracked the bass and drums on this song, and mixed and mastered it as well.”
“Valentine” is just another example of the depth and diversity of Gunshine.
Hailing from Pensacola, Florida,Gunshinehave built a reputation on catchy vocal melodies, clever lyrics, blistering guitar riffs and solos, and a lethal rhythm section. Their sound blends edgy, raw Rock ’n’ Roll attitude with a melodic, Pop-forward sensibility, creating music that hits hard while remaining instantly memorable. The album takes listeners on a dynamic journey filled with genre-bending twists and turns, shifting moods, and unexpected vibes—all while staying true to the core elements that set Gunshine apart. Shadowspawn hails from the greater Copenhagen area in Denmark and has existed since 2013. They released several critically acclaimed records (“Ashes of Sorrow” (EP, 2015), “Hope Lies Dormant” (2017), “The Biology of Disbelief” (2021), “Blasphemica” (2023)) and established themselves as a powerful force on the Danish metal scene. After 3 years, now Danish band is preparing for releasing 4th studio album!
With “Cadaver Dogs“, Shadowspawn unleash a landmark album that both expands the band’s musical horizons and cements their ability to craft a cohesive sound where groove and darkness go hand in hand with crushing intensity.
Bue Jensen comments: “We’re back with a truly killer, thoroughly crafted record, and we’re proud and excited to present it to our fans! We’ve created a narrative about the insane world we see around us, where power-hungry dictators and religion set an agenda built on fear, murder, and oppression. In other words, human carrion feeders who exploit everything they possibly can!“.

HEGEROTH is a band playing broadly understood black metal, open to influences outside the genre, diversity, a wide spectrum of means of expression, and unconventional solutions… all while maintaining energy, speed, and 100% metal in metal. Hegeroth was founded in 2010 in Upper Silesia (Poland). The band’s music has evolved from symphonic and melodic black metal in its early days, through complex, multi-layered melodic structures intertwined with disharmonies, to expressive, energetic pieces dominated by aggression, speed, and uncompromising expression. However, Hegeroth has never followed the well-trodden path of black metal, always seeking its own way and means of expression. The lyrics mock the mindlessness, dogmatism and meanness resulting from the imposition of a model of right-only thinking, religious oppression and mental backwardness.
The band has released five albums. Sixth is on the way…
Music for new album “Soaked in Rot” was recorded, mixed and mastered by Bene at HHSoundLab Studios. Cover artwork as well as whole layout was done by Maciej Kamuda (Blut aus Nord, Nunslaughter, Master). Upcoming record will be released on March 25, 2026 in digital format and jewelcase CD as independent release. Pre-order is available at Bandcamp.

Tomorrow Friday, Greek symphonic extreme metallers W.E.B. will unveil Darkness Alive, their first ever live album on Metal Blade Records! Captured at Gagarin205 in the band’s hometown of Athens on September 22nd, 2024, Darkness Alive truly captures the band at their most commanding.
“We shared the stage that night with Dark Funeral, and since we were making changes within the band that had us excited, we made the decision to mark this day with a special release, hence our first official live album,” says singer/guitarist Sakis Prekas.
On today’s single, Prekas comments, “‘Into Hell Fire We Burn’ is a thunderous marriage of black and heavy metal with a chorus that literally orders you to sing along. We are all sinners, we will all go to Hell, let us scream our sins to our redemption. ‘Villains and sinners, in Hell fire we burn.’“

Darkness Alive will be released digitally on February 20th. Find pre-orders at: metalblade.com/web

W.E.B.‘s music has earned high praise for its “drama, extremity and bloodthirst in equal parts… energetic and unhinged.” The formidable symphonic extreme metal lineup is best experienced at one of their many crushing live gigs.
A band born of the necessity to scream, blast, and create emotions and get on stage to exchange them with an audience, W.E.B. expresses darkness and death through adrenaline and poetry. Darkness Alive follows five previous studio albums. Colosseum, released in 2021, was their first for Metal Blade. Seized at a moment of transition, the upcoming live album documents the band featuring Prekas. Hel Pyre (bass, vocals), and newly joined drummer Vasilis Nanos. Following the recording, the band expanded its sound and solidified its current lineup with the addition of lead guitarist Alex Despotidis and second bassist Babis Kapageridis.
W.E.B. is currently composing material for their next full-length album that will see them hitting the road once again. “It is by far the best material we;ve ever had on a record. I intend to keep the promise to myself regarding W.E.B. that all new material must be better material, otherwise there is no reason to release it,” Prekas concludes. “Stay Dark.“
True to black metal’s fiercely individual spirit, upon moving to Norway at the end of the 2000s, Roman V. started Bizarrekult as a lone wolf. Much like Roman’s previous two retreats into the studio, his upcoming third album emerged from a deeply personal crisis. Only on Alt Som Finnes, he’s not alone in confronting all there.
“The mixture of black metal and post metal is not particularly new, but it’s difficult to pull off well”, Wormwood Chronicles writes in a review of Alt Som Finnes. “The more I listen to Bizarrekult, the more I think they have hit just about the right balance”.
“The album has a quality to it as if it was trying desperately to offer some hope, but with each turn, they sunk the dagger deeper into your heart”, Metal Templewrites in a 9/10 review.
Alt Som Finnes comes out tomorrow Friday, February 20 on Season of Mist Underground Activists, but you can hear all eight absorbing songs today by listening to the full album stream on the Black Metal Promotion YouTube channel.
“I was not ready for all this”, Roman says about Alt Som Finnes. “None of us are, when the time comes. But at the end of this journey, it seems to have all been worth it. The music gave me hints as to where to go and what can be”.
Alt Som Finnes maintains the classic energy of old school Norwegian black metal. “Verdens verste” rails against consumerism with blistering grooves. With its crazed riffs and blistering howls, there’s no escape from the feverish intensity of “Drøm”. But Bizarrekult’s new album strips away all of our defenses while adding more post-metal ambiance. “Avmakt” surges and seethes in a fight for control before losing power amidst melodies that fall then fade like dying pinpricks of light.
No one will emerge unscathed from Alt Som Finnes. However, for the first time, Roman is joined in his struggle. The album features guest vocalists from Predatory Void, MØL and Dødheimsgard. Behind a steady pounding of double bass, lead single “Blikket Hennes” buzzes with the all-consuming darkness of a guilty conscience, only for Yusaf “Vicotnik” Parvez to enlighten us with soothing cleans. Despite being riddled with regrets, closer “Tomhet” breaks new ground as the first Bizarrekult song sung in English.
“Am I alone like this? No, we are many”. As the album storms through the finish line, Roman and Kim Song Sternkopf howl together into the void. It’s a damning realization, but also a call for us to become something greater.
On Alt Som Finnes, Bizarrekult confronts all there is with devastating clarity.

Picture the ocean from inside the eye of a storm. Each rising wave presents its own unique threat, churned by the changing of the tides. But no matter how far you sink below the surface, all there is to see is one continuous expanse of water. This is the tortured yet piercingly clear headspace from which post-black metal curio Bizarrekult slowly and painstakingly emerged with its absorbing third album Alt Som Finnes.
“I was not ready for all of this”, says Bizarrekult’s sole mastermind Roman V. “None of us are, when the time comes. But at the end of this journey, it seems to have all been worth it. The music gave me hints as to where to go and what can be”.
In keeping with black metal’s fiercely individual spirit, Roman began his life as Bizarrekult as a lone wolf. The one-man project started in 2006 as a musical accompaniment to the poetic verses he’d written since childhood. However, it’s official recorded debut didn’t come until fifteen years later, after he moved from Siberia to Norway. Living closer to the genre’s birthplace inspired him to bend but not break with tradition. Bizarrekult can be as cold and raw as early Darkthrone, as eerily melodic as Enslaved, or as blistering in its beauty as Borknagar.
“Norway has become my second home”, Roman says upon reflection. “The years that led to the revitalization of Bizarrekult were spent reflecting on myself and reuniting with the things that are important – art and creativity”.
On Bizarrekult’s first album, Roman looked back on his childhood and family life while also examining his changing relationship with the world at large. Released in 2021, Vi Overlevde (We Survived) was perceived as a beacon of hope amidst the second trying year of the pandemic. Charting near the top of Sweden’s biggest newspaper’s year-end list attracted the attention of Season of Mist, who released 2023’s more expansive follow-up Den Tapte Krigen (The Lost War) to further critical acclaim.
“…as Bizarrekult matures, so does its songwriting” wrote Angry Metal Guy. “The result is an album that flows like a stream through a dark forest”.
Alt Som Finnes (All There Is) maintains the classic energy of the old school. “Drøm” seeks to escape into the comfort of dreams, chased by frantic riffs and hallucinatory screams. “It’s in our dreams that we can finally relax from everything that happens during the daytime”, Roman says. “You can grasp at who you actually are, the meaning of yourself”. While Bizarrekult remains rooted in Norwegian black metal, the album strips away all defenses while adding more post-metal ambience. “Verdens verste” rails against consumerism with blistering grooves, while “Avmakt” surges and seethes in a fight for control before losing power amidst melodies that fall then fade like dying pinpricks of light.
As with Bizarrekult’s two previous retreats into the studio, Alt Som Finnes emerged from a deeply personal crisis. Only this time, Roman is not alone in confronting all there is. He’s joined in his struggle by guest vocalists from Predatory Void, MØL and Dødheimsgard. Behind a steady pounding of double bass, lead single “Blikket Hennes” buzzes with the all-consuming darkness of a guilty conscience, only for Yusaf “Vicotnik” Parvez to enlighten with soothing cleans.
“I wrote to Yusaf not about music, but life and its difficulties”, Roman says. “It became a connection”.
No one emerges unscathed from Alt Som Finnes. But while riddled with regrets, album closer “Tomhet” breaks new ground as the first Bizarrekult song sung in English. “Am I alone like this? No, we are many”. It’s a damning realization, but also a call for all of us to become something greater.
