Temple Witch is emerging as one of the most compelling voices in the growing Northeast Ohio doom metal movement — a scene shaped as much by bleak industrial landscapes and punishing winters as by the music itself. In an era where metal continues to splinter and evolve into increasingly diverse forms, the band embraces the heavier, fuzz-drenched edges of the genre, crafting songs that feel both colossal and deeply human.
Blending the raw urgency of 1980s and 1990s underground punk with the crushing weight of modern stoner rock and doom metal, Temple Witch has carved out a sound that feels distinct within their regional scene. Their music balances towering riffs with emotional honesty, creating immersive songs that unfold like journeys through isolation, struggle, and catharsis.
That emotional depth is front and center in the band’s recent video releases, “Wraith” and “Earthen Jug,” both of which have generated growing attention around the group. “Wraith,” a hybrid of animation and live action, explores themes of loneliness through haunting imagery and atmosphere. “Earthen Jug,” meanwhile, confronts mental illness with stark realism, continuing the band’s commitment to unfiltered expression and vulnerable storytelling.
Momentum around Temple Witch continues to build heading into 2026. The coming months will see the band taking part in multiple festivals, out-of-state runs, interviews, and radio appearances, all while preparing a wave of new material.
Among the most anticipated developments is the band’s forthcoming full-length album. In October 2025, Temple Witch traveled to Pittsburgh to record at The Vault with Grammy Award-winning producer Dave Hillis. Known for his work with legendary acts including Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, and Temple of the Dog, Hillis helped the band capture the record in an intense three-day session. Anticipation surrounding the release continues to grow as fans await what may be the band’s defining statement to date.
At its core, Temple Witch remains driven by a simple philosophy: to express honestly what they feel and observe through music. While their influences stretch across decades of heavy music, the band sees emotional experience — not genre conventions — as the true force shaping their sound. Through that authenticity, Temple Witch hopes to create genuine human connection and contribute something real to the ever-expanding world of heavy music.
For Temple Witch, this is more than a moment. It is the beginning of something larger, and they are inviting listeners to be part of it.

London metallers Negative Frame have announced the release of their highly anticipated debut album, Break The Ice, out 7th August via Bloodblast. The band have also unveiled dark new single ‘Cut Throat’.
‘Cut Throat’ is inspired by the death of friends and family, in remembrance of vocalist Kesari Gorin’s best friend Charlie and Charlie’s fiancé Zaiga who lost their lives together.
Vocalist Kesari commented on ‘Cut Throat’: “Hostility, grief, denial and anger are the cold realities of life. Through the years, anger turns to empathy and denial turns to acceptance. No matter how long someone close has been gone they’re always by your side in life and in death. Rest in peace.”
As Negative Frame unveil their new album, Break The Ice, they also reveal more of themselves than ever before. Exploring themes of loss, pain, isolation, addiction and personal struggle, the record serves as a cathartic release for the North London five-piece. Growing up as friends with little more than a shared love of skateboarding and making music, they have faced their share of adversity, and these experiences are woven into every track.
Unafraid to confront life’s darkest moments, Negative Frame also deliver a message of resilience and hope. As the band explain: “Whatever you do in this world with your life it will keep spinning and we will all be dust soon enough, don’t live a life of hate and expect the world to give you anything other than what you’ve put into it. Let go of the pain.”

Negative Frame are a London-based metallic hardcore band formed in 2017, emerging from the city’s DIY underground with a sound that fuses groove-heavy riffs, thrash intensity and punishing breakdowns. Originally brought together through skating and college life in North London, the band channelled frustration with everyday monotony into something far louder and more physical, quickly becoming known for their raw, high-impact approach. Drawing influence from acts like Acid Bath, Disembodied and Lamb of God, their music leans into dense, groove-led structures and visceral, emotionally charged vocals that hit as hard live as they do on record.
From early DIY tours and self-booked shows to sharing stages with hardcore heavyweights, Negative Frame have built their reputation on relentless live energy and a deep connection to the UKHC scene. Their debut releases and later material, including the Mercy Killing EP and singles like ‘Bad Blood,’ showcase a band evolving into a heavier, more intricate force while staying rooted in hardcore’s communal chaos—stage dives, mic grabs and all. With a growing following and a reputation for explosive performances, Negative Frame are part of a new wave pushing UK hardcore into darker, more aggressive territory without losing its sense of grit or fun.
Negative Frame are here to execute, haunting each listener with a passionate blend of hardcore to epic metal.
Negative Frame are: Kesari Gorin – Vocals Olly Coyne – Lead Guitar George Evil – Guitar Mark Maccutchan – Bass Luke Walker – Drums
Available now on all digital platforms, “Empty Words” is the latest single from REVEALING CHAOS, released via Volcano Records.
With this new track, the band once again dives into intense and complex musical territory, delivering a modern progressive rock piece that blends technical precision with emotional depth, further strengthening their identity as a band driven by substance, intensity and artistic exploration. Inspired by recent real-life events that have deeply shaken public opinion, “Empty Words” tackles the painful subject of toxic relationships and psychological manipulation — destructive dynamics that often unfold in silence until they reach their most tragic consequences.
The song sheds light on the invisible mechanisms of control, dependency and emotional abuse that trap the most vulnerable side of a relationship, turning it into a psychological cage. Through sharp songwriting and a direct emotional approach, “Empty Words” carries a clear message: recognizing these patterns and finding the strength to break free before it’s too late. It stands as a call for awareness, emotional self-preservation and resistance against all forms of psychological violence. From a musical standpoint, the track unfolds through the intricate and dynamic structures that define Revealing Chaos’ progressive identity, balancing tension, technicality and melodic expansion in a way that recalls influences such as Fates Warning, Rush and Ayreon. The result is a sonic architecture that not only supports the lyrical content, but intensifies its emotional and narrative impact. With “Empty Words”, Revealing Chaos once again reaffirm their commitment to using music not only as a form of artistic expression, but also as a vehicle for reflection and social awareness.
The release is accompanied by the official music video, now available on YouTube, visually expanding on the song’s themes of oppression, fragility and liberation, adding further emotional and conceptual depth to the experience.
Japanese modern metal powerhouse FireFlame release their single and lyric video, “Something Is Wrong”, a preview of their upcoming full-length album Force Against The End, set for release on July 31, 2026 via Wormholedeath.
“Something Is Wrong” is a descent into a world of distortion, manipulation, and mental unrest. Driven by the growing awareness that reality itself has become corrupted, the song follows the struggle of an individual who can no longer ignore the cracks in the system. What begins as intuition becomes a relentless search for truth—one that is as liberating as it is terrifying. Musically, the track delivers the unmistakable sound of FireFlame, fusing classic heavy metal craftsmanship with modern metalcore intensity to create a powerful and unsettling soundtrack to its dystopian vision.
FireFlame is a five-piece heavy metal band from Osaka, Japan, formed through a university music circle where guitarists FireRay and Fire.J first met. The lineup was completed on February 27, 2022, with bassist Connie Flames, vocalist Mr Big Fire, and drummer Show .G. Flame.
The band’s “Modern Heavy Metal” sound blends classic heavy metal, metalcore, melodic death metal, and ballads, driven by the twin-guitar interplay of FireRay and Fire.J. Their goal is to bring Japanese metal to a global stage, shaping both their songwriting and live energy.
Beyond music, FireFlame co-founded NWOJHM (New Wave of Japanese Heavy Metal) with kitsunevi to help reconnect and revitalize Osaka’s metal scene.
Fireflame’s debut full-length album, “Force Against The End”, features 15 tracks centered on an aggressive twin-lead guitar attack. Fusing classic heavy metal craftsmanship with modern metalcore intensity, their sound reflects the philosophy of “Inner Fire” — the spirit of refusing to give up
Recently, international symphonic metal legends KAMELOT announced their haunting new album Dark Asylum, arriving August 28, 2026 via Napalm Records. Today, they give fans their first peek into the twisting hallways of RavenHill Asylum with “Ashen World”, a triumphant, cinematic, and epic anthem.
From its very first note, “Ashen World” launches with unmistakable KAMELOT grandeur, propelled by founding guitarist Thomas Youngblood’s expressive lead work, soaring orchestration, and the rich symphonic arrangements that have become the band’s hallmark. The track embodies everything fans have come to love about KAMELOT; cinematic darkness, unforgettable melodies, and a towering anthemic chorus, while introducing fresh textures and unexpected twists that expand the band’s sonic landscape.
Thomas Youngblood on “Ashen World”: “‘Ashen World’ captures that moment of standing at the crossroads between darkness and hope, where the journey forward begins. It’s classic KAMELOT at its core, while opening new doors into the world of Dark Asylum.”
With countless dynamic shifts, vocalist Tommy Karevik showcases the full breadth of his remarkable range, effortlessly moving from intimate, haunting passages to his signature soaring power. Adding another layer of atmosphere, Decessus frontwoman and reigning Miss Chile Ignacia Fernández makes an ethereal vocal appearance that intertwines beautifully with the song’s haunting mood, as “Ashen World” tells the story of a world descending into darkness while never losing sight of hope, resilience, and redemption.
Tommy Karevik Adds About the Single: “It’s a deep dive into the topography of the human mind, exploring its valleys, peaks, and the void in between. It’s about breaking free from the limiting beliefs that hold us captive and creating a new reality that allows us to expand and realize our full potential.”
Set within a shadowed Neo Victorian-era world, Dark Asylum invites listeners beyond the gates of RavenHill Asylum—an imposing institution once built as a grand cathedral, now repurposed into a place where science, faith, and madness uneasily coexist.
KAMELOT pushes further into cinematic and atmospheric territory on Dark Asylum, diving deeper into theatrical darkness while preserving the signature hooks that define their sound. Candlelight trembles along towering arches and cold stone corridors as you are greeted familiar spectres: Avantasia mastermind Tobias Sammet, Eluveitie’s Lea-Sophie Fischer, Visions of Atlantis’s Clémentine Delauney, Decessus frontwoman and current reigning Miss World Chile champion Ignacia Fernández, Rannveig Sif Sigurðardóttir and Sólveig Sara Leupold, and Billy King! Identity fractures, reality bends, and control slips into unseen hands, guiding its central figure through a descent into psychological darkness that ultimately leads toward transformation… and perhaps sanctuary. From the cinematic sweep of “Ashen World” to the introspective depth of “Sanctuary”, and the layered mystique of “Ivy, My Dear”, Dark Asylum unfolds as a fully immersive journey, blending orchestral grandeur, haunting melodies, and theatrical storytelling into one cohesive vision.
Will you find sanctuary? Or will you wander its halls for eternity?
Deepening the immersion of RavenHill, Dark Asylum will be released on a plethora of exciting platforms including standard gold, solid silver, and classic black vinyl editions, certified vinyl with the white label, white splatter, and blood filled variants, the latter of which are each paired with an official 24 page booklet! Multiple CD digipak available, with the 2 disc version including an instrumental version of the album, alongside cassette and digital options!
