The interesting and fresh NEMESIS relies on a 90s-inspired but interestingly modern rock sound and strong young women as their front figures. In addition to Mark Bertény, the Turku Rock Academy’s own new generation of producers are responsible for the production!
Listen to the single on music services and watch the video below.
Nemesis is a rock band from Turku that draws inspiration from the spirit of the ’90s. The band was formed in early 2024 and has been an official member of Turku Rock Academy since spring 2025. The lineup consists of 17-year-old frontwomen Fiia Lorimer and Carla Mononen Gómez, supported by more experienced musicians Fil Haides and Roope Sainisto. Despite their young age, the band members have strong capabilities and an even greater passion for making music. Nemesis isn’t afraid to stand out – on the contrary, they want to be more than just an ordinary band. Nemesis’ second single ‘Aways Me’ was written in the summer of 2025. The song has already energized audiences in numerous live performances, but in the studio it has been refined into the best possible version. Distorted guitar riffs and an uplifting melody bring both intensity and sensitivity to the track.
We wanted to make a song that sounds honest and not overly polished. It draws from thingsthat are important to us, like grunge and older alternative rock, while also bringing in our ownsound. The song deals with an obsessive and intense romantic relationship. The chorus line‘all you are is me’ came very naturally while writing the lyrics. It is guaranteed to stay in your head long after listening.
Produced by Mark Bertényi & Toivo-Olavi Väliviita.
Under the Iron Sky is a slow, heavy, groove-driven track with progressive influences, built around two parallel layers of conflict: an internal psychological struggle and an external, war-like landscape. Rather than simply depicting conflict, the song captures a state where resistance becomes an unavoidable condition of existence.
The track paints a world where movement grows increasingly difficult. With lead in the feet and iron in the sky, the environment becomes suffocating and oppressive, turning every step into an act that feels like resisting gravity itself. Forward motion is no longer instinctive—it becomes deliberate, draining, and painfully slow.
At the same time, Under the Iron Sky dives into deep internal exhaustion. The battlefield is not only physical, but also a mental space. External reality and inner experience begin to merge, blurring the line between what is real and what is perceived. The recurring question “How did it come to this?” distills the emotional core of the track: confusion, fatigue, and a growing sense of inevitability.
The chorus expands this tension into a multidirectional threat—pressure closing in from above, ahead, and behind. The central figure is not only confronted by external forces, but gradually worn down by their own weakness and exhaustion. In the end, the struggle is no longer directed at a single enemy, but becomes a total, immersive condition where internal and external forces are inseparable.
Musically, the track combines heavy, groove-based riffing with progressive structures, the crushing weight of slow death metal, and dark shades of doom metal. A cinematic approach shapes the arrangement, allowing the song to unfold like a soundscape—layered, immersive, and gradually intensifying toward a suffocating climax. Minimalistic and direct lyricism reinforces the atmosphere, leaving space for interpretation.
Under the Iron Sky is not just about conflict—it captures the moment when struggle itself becomes inevitable.
Multi-platinum hard rock powerhouse Five Finger Death Punch announce their highly anticipated tenth studio album, Legacy. The digital version arrives July 31 pre-order here while the CD, vinyl, and cassette versions will land on September 18 — pre-order here.
“Every album is a snapshot of who we were at that particular moment in time, and Legacy is exactly what the title suggests,” declares guitarist Zoltan Bathory. “It’s a reflection on the journey, the lessons, the victories, the struggles, and everything we’ve experienced over the last two decades.”
He furthers, “What makes that journey meaningful is that we didn’t make it alone. We traveled this road alongside millions of fans around the world and somehow became part of each other’s lives. That’s an incredible thing to reflect on twenty years later.”
Vocalist Ivan Moody continues, “At the same time, Legacy isn’t about looking backward. 20 years is a milestone, not a destination. We’re incredibly proud of this record because it captures everything people love about Five Finger Death Punch while also pointing toward where we’re headed next.”
He finishes, “Our philosophy has always been that this journey doesn’t come with a self-imposed ceiling. Every goal we’ve reached simply revealed another horizon beyond it. We never believed the sky was the limit; if anything, it’s where the true journey begins. Here’s to our shared legacy.”
The brand new song “De Oppresso Liber” is out now. Listen to the song and watch the video below.
“‘De Oppresso Liber’ is more than just a motto,” states Bathory. “It’s a calling. It’s a philosophy. It represents a willingness to stand between danger and those who cannot defend themselves. Throughout human history, there have always been people who were drawn to accept that responsibility. This song is our way of paying respect to that mindset.”
The first single from the album released just last month, “Eye Of The Storm,” is already Top 5 at Rock Radio this week and has already generated over 3.9 million Spotify streams and 1.6 million YouTube views on the official lyric video. Revolver hailed it as “Huge,” going on to praise how “it mixes a flurry of battering metal chugs with a sense of melody, plus Ivan Moody’s pensive-but-barked lyrics hinting at fears, regrets, burdens, blame, and the search for some kind of inner peace.” Loudwire raved: “The song is a driving, furious banger that kicks off what’s expected to be a new album cycle in grand fashion.”

This summer, Five Finger Death Punch, will embark on the 1st leg of the 20th Anniversary World Tour which will take them all across North America with special guest Cody Jinks, and Eva Under Fire before hitting arenas in the UK/EU with Lamb Of God and Bleed From Within in early 2027.
The 20th Anniversary World Tour is both a celebration and a statement, honoring the band’s journey from their 2005 formation and release of their debut album, The Way Of The Fist, in 2007 to global arena headliners. The tour will showcase material from the new album, alongside classic anthems and #1 hits that defined the past two decades.
Produced by Live Nation, the 48-city North American tour kicks off on Monday, July 20 at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden, NJ, and wraps up in Bristow, VA at Jiffy Lube Live on Friday, October 23.
In addition to celebrating two decades of music, the band is once again using its platform to give back. Long recognized as one of the most charitable bands in rock, Five Finger Death Punch has spent decades giving back to various causes, including U.S. military veterans and first responders and their families. In 2026, the band is continuing that tradition by supporting Team USA and aligning with the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games being held on American soil in Los Angeles in 2028. As part of the tour’s commitment to championing America’s next generation of athletes, a portion of the ticket sales from the 2026 North American Tour will benefit high-performance programs for U.S. Olympic and Paralympic athletes as they prepare for international competition.
“The support from Five Finger Death Punch means the world to us and our BMX programs,” states USA CyclingPresident & CEO, Brendan Quirk. “As a nonprofit National Governing Body that receives no government funding, we’re already at a disadvantage compared to many of the world’s leading cycling nations as we prepare for the home Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2028. We’re working to raise awareness of that reality and the challenges it creates for our athletes.”
Quirk continues, “Their support will have a tremendous impact on both our BMX Racing and BMX Freestyle programs, helping fund critical preparation opportunities such as training camps, international competition travel, and qualification events. Every opportunity to train and compete on the world stage is essential as our athletes chase qualification points and prepare to perform at their best in Los Angeles.
“We are sincerely grateful to Zoltan and Five Finger Death Punch for their generous support of our athlete programs,” said USA Judo CEO Corinne Shigemoto. “Judo has played a meaningful role in Zoltan’s life, and his decision to give back to the sport in this way reflects a deep commitment to its future. The band’s generosity will have a direct impact on our athletes through expanded high-performance programming as we prepare for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games.”
5FDP’s 2027 UK/EUROPEAN tour leg with Lamb Of God and Bleed From Within will kick off in the UK in Manchester on Saturday, January 16 and will see the band perform in 21 cities across the continent, ending in Helsinki on February 22.

Following extensive global touring for two decades, including appearances on Metallica’s M72 World Tour, the band continues to expand its global reach. Their #1 collaboration with BABYMETAL, “The End,” became the first song featuring Japanese lyrics to chart at U.S. rock radio. Standing at the cusp of what promises to be a bold creative chapter, Hunnu Rock pioneers THE HU — Galaa (morin khuur, throat singing); Jaya (tumur khuur, tsuur, throat singing); Enkush (morin khuur, throat singing); and Temka (tovshuur, throat singing) — will unveil their forthcoming third full-length album, HUN, out July 24 via BETTER NOISE MUSIC. Pre-order/Pre-save HUN here.
Today, they share the official video for new song “Grey Hun.” The song’s percussive thrust propels it forward and as is always the case with The HU, worlds, cultures, and sounds collide to yield a fingerprint-distinct sound. The HU are not simply breaking down the barriers in rock music; they are reinventing them and seamlessly weaving an entirely new tapestry in the genre.
“Grey Hun” is a song that encourages everyone to be comfortable with just being themselves. It started with composing the riff as I imagined a man riding his horse through a vast landscape,” states Enkush. “From there, it took a while for us to finish the song because we wanted to make sure to clearly communicate the positive message of the song.”
“Grey Hun” comes hot on the heels of hypnotic single “Lost Soul” (Feat. Jonny Hawkins of NOTHING MORE). It marks the first collaboration between the Gold-certified global phenomenon and NOTHING MORE. Listen to “Lost Soul” (Feat. Jonny Hawkins of NOTHING MORE) here and watch the video here.
The track is currently climbing the active rock charts.
HUN finds The HU, who were first tipped by NPR back in 2019, at the peak of their powers thus far. They expand the scope of their signature Hunnu Rock with 11 tracks steeped in the lore and legend of Mongolia, yet uplifted with universal ambition. It’s as epic, enthralling, and enigmatic and it opens the gateway into their world.
“We took our time to do this right, and we’re so glad that we’re almost ready to release what we have worked on these past few years,” the band says. “Now, we are also focusing on the performances and working out a brand-new setlist. We want to play bigger venues so we can do extensive production, and bring in some amazing elements of our culture, and play these ideas to our fans. And, as well as our third album, we have some amazing ideas for another album already!”

Eclipse Records is excited to announce the signing of KINETIC from Kolding, Denmark to an exclusive worldwide deal. Emerging with a sound that bridges technical precision, atmospheric depth, and cinematic storytelling, the band was built on a shared ambition to create music that moves beyond convention—both musically and conceptually. Formed in 2022 by guitarist David Thing and bassist Christian Heitmann, the band recently wrapped up production of their debut full-length album entitled Liminal which will be released via Eclipse Records on October 16, 2026.
“We’re very honored to sign with Eclipse Records.” says keyboardist Marcus Levin, “it feels very natural since they recognized our vision and spirit immediately. They didn’t ask us to be louder, faster, or different. It’s very rare to find a label that truly values and respects patience, depth, and independence in music, and we’re proud and genuinely excited to be working with people who value music and creative storytelling as deeply as we do.” Vocalist René Hougaard adds “We’ve always been drawn to labels that embrace artistic identity, and Eclipse Records stood out immediately in that regard. From the beginning, they showed genuine enthusiasm for what we’re building, which made the decision easy.”

The modern progressive metal landscape thrives on ambition, yet few emerging acts possess the audacity to anchor a debut full-length album to the literal measurement of cosmic civilization. Arriving on October 16, 2026, via Eclipse Records, Liminal represents a massive sonic leap forward from their well-received 2025 debut EP, Sentience. KINETIC has crafted a 106 minute masterwork that balances technical precision with expansive, atmospheric depth, signaling the arrival of a major new force in the international metal community. Liminal functions as a classic conceptual album, bound together by a coherent, overarching storyline that connects the first note of the opening track to the final fading echoes of the grand finale. Musically and lyrically, the band draws inspiration from the Kardashev Scale, a theoretical framework proposed by astrophysicist Nikolai Kardashev that measures the technological advancement of a civilization based on the amount of energy it can harness. Rather than conforming to predictable, verse-chorus modern song structures, KINETIC focuses heavily on cinematic arrangements and long-form compositions. This deliberate stylistic choice allows the music to evolve dynamically, ensuring that the sonic landscape mirrors the immense scientific and philosophical themes of the narrative. Liminal was produced, engineered, mixed & mastered by Frederik Uglebjerg (Galge, MØL, Trold, Isbjörg) and the album cover art was created by Lasse H. Görlitz & Marcus H. Levin. It is scheduled for release on October 16, 2026.

About KINETIC: Emerging from Kolding, Denmark, KINETIC bridges the gap between technical progressive metal and cinematic storytelling. Their new album Liminal takes listeners on an existential journey through space and time, marking the band’s official debut on the Eclipse Records roster and solidifying their place as a must-watch modern metal act. Kinetic is René Hougaard (lead vocals), David Thing (guitar, backing vocal), Christian Filskov Heitmann (bass), Marcus H. Levin (synth), and Rune Görlitz (drums).
NARGAROTH, the German black metal project of Rene “Ash” Wagner, premiered their new album yesterday. A tribute to Judas Priest, Accept, Deicide, Obituary, Motörhead and other legends who shaped Ash’s identity as a metalhead, Apocalyptic Steel arrives fast, dirty and on its own terms.
“Apocalyptic Steel, radically different as it is, seems like a very appropriate expansion of Nargaroth’s catalog”, New Noise writes in a 5/5 review. “Ash now digs further back into the crux of what he loves”.
Listen to Apocalyptic Steel on Season of Mist’s YouTube channel.
Apocalyptic Steel was tracked over a single weekend in September 2014 at Trident Studios in Pacheco, California, with Mike Williams (Mummification) on guitar and bass, and Phil Cancilla (Malevolent Creation, Hank Williams 3) on drums. Left on a hard drive in the United States while Era of Threnody, took priority, Nargaroth’s upcoming new album resurfaced years later. Drums were re-recorded at Skeleton Key Studios in Las Vegas in July 2022, and vocals were recorded alongside the mixing and mastering at AMP Studios in Duisburg, Germany, between February and April 2025, with engineer Jens Forster. Twelve years after its original sessions, Apocalyptic Steel is finally here.
Nargaroth will celebrate the release of Apocalyptic Steel on June 26 with an exclusive album release show in Bochum Germany at Matrix. Presented by Redback Promotion and Season of Mist, during this special evening, Ash and his bandmates will perform two full sets: one filled with classic songs from the band’s 30-year history and another premiering Apocalyptic Steel in full. Fans can meet the band prior to the show during a meet-and-greet session.
Requiem Germania (05:10) [WATCH] Full runtime: 39:07
NARGAROTH is the sole vision of Rene “Ash” Wagner, forged in Saxony in 1996 and driven by nearly three decades of raw, uncompromising German black metal.
Apocalyptic Steel is a record that refused to stay buried. Tracked in a single weekend at Trident Studios in Pacheco, California, in September of 2014, the album sat forgotten on a hard drive in the United States while Era of Threnody took priority. Years later, the recordings resurfaced. Drums were re-recorded in Las Vegas, vocals and mixing completed at AMP Studios in Duisburg, and twelve years after its first sessions, the album is finally here. This is not a vault curiosity. It is Nargaroth at its most direct: nine tracks of filthy, unadorned metal built on the attitude of old Judas Priest, Accept, Deicide and Obituary. From the predatory menace of “Twisted Steel” to the band-name-studded battle cry of “Metalheart”, from the unflinching historical weight of “Dresden” to the aching Germanic longing of “Requiem Germania”, this is an album that has nothing to prove and wastes nothing on pretence. Recorded fast, recorded dirty, and finished on its own terms.
