SHANE LENTZ presents the stunning visualizer for the track “LIMINAL”, a track taken from APHOTIC | LIMINAL | NIHIL EP, out via Wormholedeath.
For the visualizer, Shane captured footage while traveling through the landscapes of Norway—vast, remote, and hauntingly beautiful. The stark scenery becomes a mirror to the music: heavy, textured, and emotionally unrelenting. The screams, the layers, the intensity—they all seem to echo through Norway’s endless mountains and valleys, flowing across the surface of the sea.
The track “LIMINAL” is part of a larger vision: APHOTIC | LIMINAL | NIHIL, a deeply personal and atmospheric release where Shane performs everything himself. From drums to guitar, from composition to final mix, this is his sonic world, built piece by piece.
Based in Philadelphia, Shane Lentz is a bassist-turned-multi-instrumentalist known for combining technical precision with dark, atmospheric depth. His solo catalog includes The Hollowing Abyss (2024), The Solitude of Discovery (2021), and Reverse Horizons (2014).
He’s played bass for Kamikabe, Ys, and Cabaret Runaway, and appeared as a session musician on Jeff Loomis’ Plains of Oblivion, which charted across five U.S. Billboard categories.
With APHOTIC | LIMINAL | NIHIL, Shane takes full creative control, delivering a heavy, immersive experience from start to finish.
Italian death metal act TENEBRO are now premiering their new single “Jennifer”, the latest glimpse from their upcoming album “Una Lama D’Argento”, set for release on December 12th, 2025 via Time To Kill Records.
With its sharp, brooding approach, the track captures a sense of tension and dread, translating horror-inspired imagery into pure sonic impact.
“‘Jennifer,’ reveals a different side of Tenebro. Taking inspiration from Argento’s ‘Phenomena’, where a young girl forges a psychic connection with insects to uncover murders and mysteries, this song drifts into slower, more melancholic territory. With heavy atmospheres and a sense of dark foreboding, ‘Jennifer’ stands apart in the Tenebro catalog: a brooding, cadenced track that mirrors the film’s oppressive aura, where the supernatural becomes the key to unveiling hidden evil”.
With their horrific and claustrophobic death metal, TENEBRO reaffirm themselves as one of the most uncompromising and distinctive acts in the Italian extreme underground, ready to push even further with this new work.
With “Una Lama D’Argento”, TENEBRO take their most extreme and visionary step yet: an entire album conceived as a tribute to Dario Argento, the undisputed master of horror, giallo, and thriller cinema. Eleven tracks that are not just songs, but episodes of a single nightmare, a journey through the dark and obsessive atmospheres of the films that shaped cinema history: Deep Red (1975), Suspiria (1977), Inferno (1980), Tenebre (1982), Phenomena (1985), and Opera (1987).
TENEBRO translate Argento’s universe into sound: riffs sharp as blades, guttural vocals emerging from the darkness, relentless drumming, and atmospheres shifting between pure violence and suffocating tension. Iconic scenes such as the mirror revealing the killer in Deep Red, the brutal mutilation in Tenebre, or the larva-filled bathtub finale in Phenomena are transformed into brutal, immersive sonic attacks, capturing the full horror and tension of the films.
As with every album, TENEBRO continue to evolve, introducing new symphonies, styles, and melodies, while remaining distinctly separate from the wider underground scene. Their music explores new horizons without ever betraying the pulsating heart that has always defined their sound: extreme, theatrical, and viscerally horror-driven.
In “Una Lama D’Argento”, TENEBRO do not merely evoke Argento’s universe: they embody it, rewriting his obsessions in Giallo Metal. It is an album that cuts, tears, and leaves no room for respite. “Una Lama D’Argento” is not just an album: it is a sonic nightmare, a visceral tribute to the cinema that taught us to love fear.

As they prepare to follow up their latest list-topping, Billboard-busting album, Horrendous are kicking off 2026 by celebrating the record that has come to define the band’s steady upward trajectory.
Come January, Philadelphia’s finest death metal band will perform two special shows in New York City and Baltimore to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Anareta, which Decibel Magazine named the best album of 2015. During both shows, the band will play the album in full.
“This album was forged during a period of intense inspiration and drive”, Horrendous says about Anareta. “We were honing our sound while exploring new territory, and felt like we were truly becoming ourselves”.
“We are excited to reanimate these songs, many of which have not been performed in years, and to breathe new life into this record that propelled the band down our current trajectory”, the band continues. “We hope you’ll join us to toast Anareta! We will shortly be entering hibernation to focus our efforts on writing our sixth album”.

“Surprises always come up during writing — spontaneous ideas pull you into new territory and enable the realization of novel possibilities that previously were inaccessible.”
Such are the words from Horrendous drummer Jamie Knox when discussing the creation of the band’s fifth full-length, the highly anticipated ‘Ontological Mysterium’. Knox’s quote also encapsulates Horrendous’s approach to extreme metal. Since 2009, the band has capably tapped into the inaccessible by providing a fresh, unconventional take on death metal that harnesses technical brilliance with elaborate, mind-melding melodies, frothy, spewing vocals and labyrinthine song structures. This combination has made each Horrendous long play a clinic in the gratifyingly unorthodox. The trend continues on Ontological Mysterium.
The follow-up to 2018’s Idol was recorded, mixed and mastered at Subterranean Watchtower Studios in Virginia, which doubles as the homestead of guitarist/vocalist Damian Herring. While the band (completed by guitarist/vocalist Matt Knox and bassist Alex Kulick) finished much of the songwriting for Ontological Mysterium in 2019, its recording was delayed by the 2020 global pandemic and various life events. Horrendous eventually finished recording in early 2022 and mastered the album before the start of 2023.
The album upholds Horrendous’s position as one of the underground’s best outside-of-the-box extreme metal bands. Having long abandoned concern whether people would appreciate their “uniqueness,” Horrendous has embraced its role as a band willing to veer far from death metal conventions, intentionally stretching and breaking norms. To wit, the band primarily views its music as filtered through a death metal lens. This may be Horrendous’s defining trait: By not accepting parameters, nothing is off-limits.

Finnish metal pioneers SARCOFAGUS announce the release of LIVE FOR THE LAST TIME, the long-awaited document of the band’s final concert, recorded at Dante’s, Helsinki, in 2010. After 15 years, this historic performance is now available in an extremely limited double vinyl first edition (only 10 copies), alongside a combined CD/DVD release.
The album and CD/DVD are released by Metal Warning (Henry Juvonen) — the same man who arranged the 2010 Sarcofagus comeback tour that led to this final performance.
A Note from Kimmo Kuusniemi: “Releasing this final Sarcofagus recording feels both emotional and complete. It closes a journey that began in 1977 and ends with the last notes played on the Dante’s stage in 2010. Sarcofagus was always about pushing boundaries, combining metal with progressive ideas and experimental impulses — and this release marks the true end of that cycle.
“But that same restless creativity didn’t stop. It simply moved into a new form.
“I let go of traditional guitar playing a long time ago — it stopped inspiring me. With the upcoming ASA Quantum Variations, I pushed that evolution much further. I use percussive attacks, harsh textures, microtonal scales, and even sounds that feel like creatures or birds.
“For me, this is the most adventurous and personal music I’ve made — a real turning point between cycles. I approached the guitar anew trying to communicate through gesture, atmosphere, and movement rather than melody, and blended metal, progressive structure, and experimental sound-shaping in ways I hadn’t explored before.
“ASA: Quantum Variations continues the environmental, societal, and philosophical themes that have guided my work for decades, now approached through a far more experimental instrumental form. One cycle ends. Another begins.”
The next release from Kimmo Kuusniemi’s Ancient Streaming Assembly (ASA) “Quantum Variations”, is scheduled for 2026 — the opening chapter of this new cycle.
THE FINAL PERFORMANCE — RAW, REAL, AND UNTOUCHED
The audio of the concert is preserved exactly as it happened.
The sound is a direct blend of: –the straight feed from the sound mixer, and –the ambient audio captured by the fixed camera placed on top of the mixer –No overdubs. –No fixes. –This is the exact sound of the last Sarcofagus gig.
THE VIDEO — A LIVE PERFORMANCE ENHANCED WITH ARCHIVAL FOOTAGE
The full Sarcofagus “Live for the Last Time” video can now be viewed on YouTube:
The video was created using: –the fixed camera mounted on the sound mixer –a second audience-shot video (used only for visuals) –classic Sarcofagus music video clips –Egyptian imagery tied to the band’s mythology –additional archival and symbolic visual elements
The final result is a live performance video, enriched with thematic and historical material that reflects the full legacy of Sarcofagus.
CREATED WITH THE MEMORY OF ESA KOTILAINEN AT ITS HEART
This entire project carries the memory of Esa Kotilainen, whose visionary keyboard work shaped the identity of Sarcofagus. His presence resonates through the performance and through the visual material woven into this release.

PERSEFONE’s power shines way beyond the borders of their native Andorra on the second single off their upcoming live album. The new version of “Leap Of Faith”, which was originally released on metanoia in 2022, adds to the progressive edge of the song through the collaboration with the Orquestra Nacional Clàssica d’Andorra (National Classical Orchestra of Andorra). The live rendition of the impressive instrumental track was recorded during a spectacular one-off show in their home country’s National Auditorium in May of 2024, resulting in the upcoming live album Live in Andorra, out on December 5, 2025 via Napalm Records. Progressive, yet catchy; heavy, yet full of symphonic emotion—take your leap of faith.
PERSEFONE about “Leap Of Faith”: “If there was one particular song that we really wanted to use as one of the singles, it had to be ‘Leap of Faith’. The fact that it is an instrumental song made some people within the PERSEFONE team raise their eyebrows. But the moment they realized how the orchestra makes this song come alive, it was an easy choice. ‘Leap of Faith’ is a song we knew we would never play live in a regular show due to its particular production, so when we found out we would have an orchestra with us for one night, we just had to play it. Sometimes there’s no need for words to express feelings, and hopefully this song can do that for you.”
Progressive death metal masters PERSEFONE let their material shine in a new light on their upcoming live album, Live In Andorra, out December 5, 2025, via Napalm Records. Recorded at a one-off orchestral show in the National Auditorium of their home country Andorra in May 2024, the six-piece band take their already sophisticated sound to even grander heights, celebrating both their 20-year history and their return home after not having performed in Andorra in ten years. In collaboration with the Orquestra Nacional Clàssica d’Andorra (National Classical Orchestra of Andorra), the symphonic accompaniment adds immense grandeur to a catalog-spanning set, embellishing their unmatched live energy to triumphant highs. Live In Andorra also offers unique recordings of many beloved songs with new frontman Daniel R. Flys, who joined the band in 2023. Making classic tracks his own and bringing new material to the forefront, he emphasizes the musical force that is PERSEFONE.
On Live in Andorra, PERSEFONE’s musical force shines brightly out from their native Andorra. A perfect example of how symphonic support can blend seamlessly into metal songs and enhance them, this intricate record gifts the already impressive tracks a whole new context. Progressive, yet catchy; heavy, yet full of emotion—goosebumps are guaranteed!
PERSEFONE about Live In Andorra: “It is not everyday that you can celebrate the history of your band with such a unique set of circumstances. Playing at home after so many years, in front of our people, at the National Hall, with the National Orchestra, was something we never imagined would even be a possibility. But when the opportunity appeared, we just couldn’t say no, and we knew we wanted to have this whole experience immortalized for everyone to take part in it. This show is a way of coming full circle, from a crappy rehearsal room and our first shows in clubs, to being able to perform at such an iconic place in our country. Please join us for this special show. Welcome to PERSEFONE. Welcome to Andorra.”
With 14 songs off their four most recent albums and the latest EP, PERSEFONE show great versatility. Live In Andorra takes listeners on a career spanning journey through a series of album specific vignettes: after starting off with the latest, Lingua Ignota: Part I (2024), the band takes their audience back in time through Aathma (2017) and even reaches all the way to their 2009 album Shin-ken. Then returning to 2022’s metanoia before finally their hit album Spiritual Migration (2013), the Andorran powerhouses garner waves of thunderous applause and howling.
With the intro “Sounds And Vessels” bleeding into “One Word”, both PERSEFONE and the orchestra, led by conductor Albert Gumí and concertmaster Pere Bardagí, show off their strength and mutual enthusiasm right at the start of the show. Performed together, this compilation expands grander than either track was alone, with the pristine clarity of the orchestral sound serving as an awe-inspiring view into what’s to come. The decorated rendition of “Living Waves” is an example of the band’s unique flair and their trademark ability to weld sweeping emotion into jaw-dropping compositions. “Leap Of Faith” deepens the progressive reach of the band, transporting listeners right to the Andorran National Auditorium in Ordino, in which this live rendition was recorded, delivering the spectacular show in vivid color. Other highlights include wonderful contrast between trenchant brutality and symphonic focus on “Stillness Is Timeless”, including an expansive piano outro, which directly moves into “Prison Skin” with a piano intro. On “Kusanagi”, PERSEFONE exemplifies their pristine musical control, taking a step back to grant the orchestra an impressive solo, cleverly sharing the spotlight for a dynamic listening experience.
