Phoenix-based groovers and thrashers INCITE are making waves with their explosive new stand-alone single, ‘Just A Rat.’ This track infuses a fresh burst of energy into the metal scene, distinguishing itself with its unique vibe. Frontman Richie Cavalera hails this as the band’s most intense work yet, underscoring INCITE’s commitment to pushing the boundaries within the genre. Featuring a powerful mix of thrashing rhythms and raw, visceral vocals, the song is poised to captivate and energize fans seeking something relentlessly unique and refreshing. The video accompanying the single is directed by Jim Louvau, known for his work with artists like KITTIE, LINKIN PARK, and JERRY CANTRELL.
Lyrically, the song speaks to anyone who has ever felt betrayed, with powerful lines like: “Tried to destroy me, won’t happen again. This was a part of your master plan, figured it out so I ran.”
Richie comments: “‘Just A Rat’ is our first single and it’s unique, heavy and, to me, moving metal into a whole new, fresh direction. I wanted the lyrical content to be very relatable and god knows we’ve all dealt with a rat at some point in our lives.”
Produced by Steve Evetts and mixed by Arthur Rizk, ‘Just A Rat’ marks INCITE’s first release under Reigning Phoenix Music, offering a glimpse of what’s to come from this exciting new partnership.
Founded in Phoenix, Arizona, in 2004 by frontman Richie Cavalera, INCITE blend groove and thrash metal with a raw, relentless edge. With Lennon Lopez on drums and EL on bass, the band have honed its unyielding sound across multiple albums, evolving with each release. Their punishing intensity is amplified by producer Steve Evetts (THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, HATEBREED) and mixer Arthur Rizk (SOULFLY, MUNICIPAL WASTE), while striking artwork by Marcelo Vasco (SLAYER, KERRY KING) captures their ferocity. Known for their relentless touring, INCITE have conquered stages worldwide, sharing bills with DEVILDRIVER and SIX FEET UNDER, and proving their grit – like driving 500 miles through a blizzard to make a show. The addition of guitarist Layne Richardson has injected fresh energy, elevating both their live performances and songwriting. With sheer determination and raw talent, INCITE have carved out a place in modern thrash, dominating every stage with their unbreakable, unforgiving sound.

ROTTING CHRIST have stood the test of time. Over the past 35 years, Sakis Tolis, his brother Themis and their brothers-in-arms have risen from Greece’s blackened catacombs to become one of metal’s most reliable forces.
Backed by a legacy that has both defined and defied black metal, last year, the Greek legends carved out a new set of dark, melodic scriptures with fresh rebellion on the unbreakable Pro Xristou.
“…this is the most arena-worthy Rotting Christ have been in some time”, No Clean Singingwrote about their latest album.
Now, as they continue to tour the world, Rotting Christ are celebrating 35 years of evil existence with a new live album. This two-hour set was recorded at the Lycabettus Hill Theater in the band’s hometown of Athens. Like a pantheon, it spans the band’s entire career, from the chiseled monuments of their modern Hellenic period to their early evil classics, including “Sorrowful Farewell” and “Among Two Storms”, the mighty one-two punch from 1997’s gothic triumph A Dead Poem.

Rotting Christ @ Milwaukee Metal Fest Friday, May 16 – Milwaukee, Wi @ The Rave/Eagles Club [TICKETS]
In the dimly lit catacombs of extreme metal, one name stands as a monolith: ROTTING CHRIST. Sakis Tholis and his brother Themis started this band together back in 1987. In the three decades since, these Greek titans have left their blackened imprint all over the metal world. They’ve released 13 studio albums and played more than 1,300 concerts around the globe. Underneath all this hard work, Rotting Christ have but one vision – an urge to not only push the boundaries of extreme metal, but to keep reinventing themselves along the way.
Rotting Christ’s evolution has unfolded across several distinct chapters. After starting out closer to the barely controlled chaos of grindcore, they went on to establish the iconic sound of Hellenic black metal. Their albums often embrace refined gothic soundscapes, only to plunge back into the depths of blasphemous fervour. Each chapter marked another, further exploration, and an unwavering commitment to push boundaries.
But the real turning point came in 2007, when Rotting Christ signed a pact with Season of Mist. They unleashed a series of albums for the French label that defied any and all expectations. From the piercing Theogonia and the symphonic grandeur of Aelo to the ritualistic intensity of Κατά Τον Δαίμονα Εαυτού, the cinematic experiences created by Rotting Christ became a spectacle of bombastic atmospheres, mesmerizing choirs, and neo-classical arrangements. The unexpected is their modus operandi, with the use of various languages (Latin, Arabic, Greek, English) as well as the extensive use of famous poetry woven into their music, like Edgar Allan Poe’s ‘The Raven’ on The Heretics.
In 2019, Rotting Christ’s epic journey continued with The Apocryphal Spell compilation, which offers fans an intimate glimpse into unreleased and rare material. This allowed them to gather strength, preparing for the release of their next, highly anticipated, 14th full-length studio album: Pro Xristou. Pro Xristou (‘Before Christ’ in Greek), serves as a fervent tribute to the last Pagan kings who resisted the onslaught of Christianity, guarding their ancient values and knowledge. In this thematic odyssey, intricately woven through tracks such as ‘The Apostate’ and ‘Ygdrassil’, Rotting Christ delves into the legacies of historical figures such as Flavius Claudius Julianus and Nordic mythological kings, embodying the might of Pagan wisdom in the face of Christian adversity. The album encapsulates the essence of Rotting Christ’s signature style – melodic, yet harsh at times – reinventing themselves yet again, while remaining rooted in their 35-year legacy.
This year, Rockin’1000 celebrates a remarkable milestone: ten years of music, passion, and innovation. Founded in 2015 with the ambitious dream of gathering 1000 musicians to invite the Foo Fighters to perform in Cesena, the project has since evolved into a global phenomenon, redefining the concept of musical communities and taking the band to some of the world’s most iconic stadiums.
To commemorate this major achievement, Rockin’1000 has launched a dedicated communications campaign around its new membership plan, an annual subscription allowing supporters to participate actively in the project. The launch is accompanied by a thrilling video manifesto that introduces a new slogan: “Take a walk on the rock side.” Created in collaboration with creative agencies DUDE and OCULAR LAB, the video invites everyone to discover and nurture their inner love for music, showcasing the collective spirit and passion behind the Rockin’1000 community. The video, in just over a minute, highlights the power and energy of the world’s largest rock band, encouraging fans and musicians alike to join the movement. Members enjoy exclusive benefits and are offered a more active role in future events and initiatives, strengthening ties with the community and providing continuous support for the project’s evolution.

“It’s been 10 years of challenges, unimaginable successes, and major transformations. We’ve given thousands of talented musicians experiences usually reserved for rock stars, promoting values like inclusion and commitment, all driven by a healthy, albeit wild, ambition. This celebration marks the foundation for the next 10 years. We’re reaching out to budding musicians, those who steal every free moment to play, and anyone who’s left their instrument gathering dust in the basement. We want to give them the chance to play every day, from local pubs to the biggest stadiums,” said Fabio Zaffagnini, CEO and Founder of Rockin’1000.
Davide Labò, Creative Director at DUDE, adds: “For years now, almost every brand has sought to build its community. Rockin’1000, on the other hand, has this collective spirit ingrained in its DNA, as much as electric guitars, basses, and drums. The challenge now is to find ways to reach and engage more people, even beyond Italy, inviting them to embrace their rock side and making the biggest rock band in the world even bigger.”
Luca Manulli, Co-Founder & Creative Director at Ocular Lab, comments: “Collaborating with Rockin’1000 has been a natural meeting point between creative vision and the rock universe, with all its energy and visual power. After working on the brand identity, the development of the video manifesto was a coherent evolution, in line with the path already taken. It’s a project that fits into an authentic, ambitious, and unconventional initiative, uniquely combining music and community.”
There are many exciting developments to mark this tenth year. Today, Rockin’1000 announced Rockin’1000 10 Years Celebration, a special two-day event in Cesena, where it all began. On Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, July 27, at Orogel Stadio Manuzzi in Cesena, the festivities will feature two distinct shows over 48 hours, with 2000 musicians and a lineup of special guests, different for each night. Tickets will be available starting from noon on Friday, March 7, at the Vivaticket website.
The next international concert will be in Leiria, Portugal, following the success of 2024. Rockin’1000 returns to the stunning Estadio Municipal on Saturday, September 6, with MOT. Tickets available at https://rockin1000portugal.pt/.
From Humble Beginnings to Global Success In 2015, a tribute video to the Foo Fighters went viral, amassing over 60 million views and transforming Rockin’1000 into an ever-growing reality. What started as a simple desire by a group of fans to bring their favorite band to town has evolved into a structured organization, becoming a Benefit Corporation (SRL) with a clear mission: to promote music as a universal form of connection.
Over the past decade, Rockin’1000 has taken its spectacular shows to some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including Stade de France before 55,000 spectators, and in countries such as Brazil, Germany, Spain, Portugal, and of course, Italy. The ability to unite 1000 musicians in iconic performances has attracted international fans, media, and global brands. Rockin’1000 is not just a music project; it’s a community that today boasts nearly 100,000 active members, musicians, and fans from over 50 countries. With an innovative entrepreneurial vision, the organization has integrated a robust technological platform to manage its activities, focusing on unique participant experiences and collaborations with major global brands in the music, tech, and lifestyle sectors.
Over the last decade, Rockin’1000 has proven to be more than a band: it’s a cultural movement that continues to break the barriers of traditional live music. The next ten years will see the introduction of new initiatives aimed at strengthening the global community, increasing inclusivity, engaging new generations of musicians, and expanding partnerships with corporate collaborators who wish to align their values with a project that merges art, technology, and collective participation.

Brazilian progressive metallers Maestrick are thrilled to announce the release of their upcoming new studio album, “Espresso Della Vita: Lunare”, out on May 2nd, 2025, via Frontiers Music Srl.
The new single and accompanying lyric video, “Agbara”, featuring Caligula’s Horse vocalist Jim Grey, are available now.
Vocalist Fábio Caldeira described the new song by saying: “Agbara is a fusion of diverse musical influences, blending Afro-Brazilian rhythms like Maracatu and Samba with their unique metal style. Inspired by artists like Hermeto Pascoal and Sérgio Mendes, the song embodies artistic plurality and cultural unity. Featuring Jim Grey of Caligula’s Horse singing in both English and Portuguese, along with the all-female Maracatu group Movimento Baque Mulher, Agbara represents strength and power through the union of different cultures, languages, and musical styles”.
About the collaboration with Jim Grey, he added: “Jim’s dedication and respect for our work was incredible. From the beginning, he was interested in all aspects of the song, the meaning of the lyrics, and even sang in Portuguese. The results exceeded any expectations we could have had!”
Caldeira also commented on the new record: “Thirteen years ago, we began what would become Espresso Della Vita, a project that would tell the story of a one-day train journey as a metaphor for our journey in life. It was divided into two albums: Solare (daytime) and Lunare (nighttime). Partnering up with Frontiers for the release of Lunare is unprecedented to us”.
“Lunare is our most ambitious, grandiose work and the ultimate representation of our vision as artists to date. We are storytellers, musical illustrators of scenes, landscapes and feelings. We could not be prouder and more excited for what this journey will bring!”, he continued.
With their new album “Espresso Della Vita: Lunare”, Maestrick aim to redefine the Progressive metal boundaries. The number of high-quality arrangements, musical abilities and influences that the band infused in the new album created the most fresh and exciting album of the genre in years.
With a malicious, dark, heavy and sarcastic approach, Maestrick deliver adult themes like addictions, racial prejudice, abuse, the holocaust and much more. It is a very emotional album, with deep reflections about what really matters in our journey/life. Thus, in the last song, the aged character gets off the train and his name, Dante, is revealed.
The explanation for his name it’s because, just like the Italian writer Dante Alighieri, who went from hell to paradise, all of us, sometimes in the same day, go from paradise to purgatory, to hell. So, at the end of the day/life, we are all “Dantes” in some way, and it’s the reason why each album has an Italian title and it’s divided into three movements.
“Espresso Della Vita: Lunare” Tracklist:
1. A Very Weird Beginning 2. Upside Down 3. Boo! 4. Ghost Casino 5. Mad Witches 6. Sunflower Eyes 7. The Root 8. Dance of Hadassah 9. Agbara 10. Lunar Vortex 11. Ethereal 12. The Last Station (I a.m. Leaving)
Founded in São José do Rio Preto/SP by three friends, Maestrick have been active since 2006 and bring in their sound elements of rock and progressive heavy metal, Brazilian regional music, world music and classical music.
The band have released two albums in Brazil, Europe, United States and Japan, and are recognized for drinking from different artistic aspects – cinema, plastic arts, visual arts and literature – for their compositions, which results in a unique and, according to specialized critics, innovative style.
Not surprisingly, Maestrick captivates movie fans, notably those of Tim Burton, George Méliès, Guillermo del Toro, and Christopher Nolan. In music, it attracts listeners of both modern rock/metal, such as Muse, and also of more niche styles within metal, such as Dream Theater, Haken, Jinjer, Spirit Box, and classics like Queen, Yes, and Gentle Giant.
Their songs address everyday complex themes of human nature. The album “Espresso Della Vita: Solare”, from 2018, was rated by BURRN!, one of the most respected music publications in the world, with a score of 86/100 – quite high for the publication’s standard. Solare’s success led to a tour of Europe with nine shows in Switzerland, Italy, Poland and the Czech Republic.

Los Angeles based cinematic hard rockers EDGE OF PARADISE are preparing to unleash their epic sixth studio album and Napalm Records debut, Prophecy, arriving this Friday, March 7, 2025. Today, they unveil “Give It To Me (Mind Assassin)”, their ferocious fourth single featuring Ben V. of industrial goth outfit Ludovico Technique.
“Give It To Me (Mind Assassin)” opens with some of the record’s most menacing riffage, pummeling listeners with slamming chugs as siren synths blare in the distance, communicating something awry. Always one to inspire discussion with her lyrics, enigmatic frontwoman Margarita Monet explores the possibility of human thought fusing with machine learning, and whether the benefits of such a biomechanical union are even worth it.
Monet says about “Give It To Me (Mind Assassin)”: “This high-energy, explosive track embodies the ultimate showdown between the human mind and artificial intelligence. An intense battle for the soul, where the fight against digital manipulation becomes a quest for true connection and self-discovery amid the chaos of an increasingly controlled existence.
“We’re heading towards a world where we could intertwine with artificial intelligence, redefine reality and possibly unlock limitless potential for ourselves—but what would be the price to pay?”
Prophecy kicks off in explosive fashion with opening track “Death Note”, a bombastic crash through apathetic walls encouraging listeners to break free from their technological isolation, and embrace connection with others over numb comfort alone. “Give It To Me (Mind Assassin)”, cranks up the intensity with an irresistible driving pulse propelled even further by an infectiously dancy chorus. A raucous fight for authenticity and self-realization, “Prophecy Unbound” careens through claustrophobically tight riffage, blossoming into a lush and cathartic belt-along chorus. The winding serpentine melodies of “Falling Light” explode with Monet’s venomous soaring vocals, dancing around ethereal synth textures, enveloping listeners in a sonic gothic cathedral. Released earlier this year, lead single “Rogue (Aim For The Kill)”, is a full throttle industrial rock track about perseverance in the face of seeming unbeatable adversity. “The Other Side of Fear” is an energized rager built on pulsating dance beats and features a standout guitar solo from composer and commander in shred Dave Bates. Prophecy takes a stand against indifference, encouraging listeners to go outside, cry, and embrace all the uncomfortable parts of life that make us human, before apathetic comfort, driven by addictive algorithms bring about our demise.
Co-produced with Mike Plotnikoff (Nita Strauss, Apocalyptica, Daughtry, Three Days Grace), mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen (Amaranthe, Arch Enemy, Katatonia, Delain, Evergrey), and incorporated for the first time, 8-string guitars, Prophecy packs extreme firepower for EDGE OF PARADISE’s most intense voyage yet.
Prophecy tracklisting: 1 Death Note 2 Give it to Me (Mind Assassin) (feat. Ben V. from Ludovico) 3 Prophecy Unbound 4 Sad Life of a Rose 5 Rogue (Aim for the Kill) 6 Hear Me 7 The Other Side of Fear 8 Martyr (Monster) 9 Relive Again 10 Falling Light
Always looking for new and innovative ways to engage with fans, Prophecy will release alongside the highly anticipated follow up to the band’s graphic novel Hologram and Slaves to Forever.

Hammerheart Records has announced the reissue of death metal stalwarts Father Befouled‘s Morbid Destitution of Covenant (2010), set for release on 18th April, 2025.
Morbid Destitution of Covenant is a standout in their discography. It fully embraces the Incantation-style of bleak, reverb-drenched death metal, featuring dense, churning guitar work, deep guttural vocals, and a funereal atmosphere.
The album solidified Father Befouled’s reputation as torchbearers of the grim, oppressive side of death metal and has been praised for its commitment to the unholy, old-school aesthetic. The vinyl edition of the album sold out long ago, making it a sought-after collector’s item for underground death metal fans.
Track-list: 1. Inno Sepulchrum 2. Sacreligeous Defilement (Of Deranged Salvation) 3. Idol Defamation 4. As Reverence Descends… 5. Paradise of Desecrated Nothingness 6. Sulfurous Majesty Above Man 7. Testament of Unholy Essence 8. Vomiting Impurity 9. …His Divine Pestilence 10. Christless Mass 11. Now Desecrated…
Dark and unrelenting, Father Befouled strike at the heart of false piety with Morbid Destitution of Covenant. Blending Incantation inspired blasphemy with crushing brutality, this release is a testament to pure, unholy death metal.”
Fifteen years later, Morbid Destitution of Covenant remains just as crushing as the day it was released. A towering pillar of cavernous death metal, this album solidified Father Befouled as true heirs to the Incantation-drenched legacy of darkness and decay.
With raw yet deliberate riffs, a funeral-paced atmosphere, and an all-encompassing sense of rot, it continues to suffocate in the best way possible. The vinyl edition has long been sold out.
