The first STREGA hex “Til-Aar Hyleventïdar” has just been casted. The italian Blackened Heavy Metal band with members of Ponte Del Diavolo and Darkend will release their first EP on April 30th 2025 via Masked Dead Records/Sulphur Music.
“Stryx Strega Strygae” features a style mixing 80’s Heavy Metal classics with the eerie voices of Black Metal and sinister, theatrical and dark fantasy scenarios. Furthermore, all lyrics are in Arrakyan, the band’s peculiar language.
PHANTOMY from Iisalmi, Finland is releasing their debut single High Octane, which will be featured on the band’s upcoming debut album From the Wild, set for release on June 13th 2025 via Inverse Records.
From the Wild offers listeners a heavy dose of old-school rock’n’roll attitude blended with hard rock and heavy metal — the kind of music that’s made to blast in smoke-filled garages and inside beer-soaked, velvet-upholstered muscle cars.
High Octane represents the catchier and lighter side of the album, but the band still keeps the pedal firmly to the metal. When the intro kicks off, the listener won’t dare — or even want — to jump off this ride.
Phantomy’s guitarist Rasmus Laurila describes the song: “The guys in the band used to describe our music as high-octane rock’n’roll, and that’s where the idea for the whole song came from. One time at our cabin, after a few beers, I was just jamming on my acoustic guitar and almost the entire song came together in just a few minutes — starting from the intros hard rocking boogieriff. Later on, I wrote the vocals and wanted to throw in some epic 80s-style harmonies and high-soaring singing. The song ended up being exactly what I wanted: full throttle from start to finish, and it really reflects who we are as a band.”

Following the recent unveiling of their latest single, “Aeon Afterglows“, and the anticipation surrounding their debut album, French Melodic Death/Doom entity WURMIAN now invites listeners to fully immerse themselves in the depths of “Immemorial Shrine“.
Ahead of its official release on April 6th, 2024, “Immemorial Shrine” is now available for full streaming via Death Metal Promotion:
A deeply evocative journey through bleak soundscapes and mournful melodies, “Immemorial Shrine” conjures the spirit of early ’90s Melodic Death/Doom while embracing a contemporary production approach. The album unfurls in seven immersive tracks, each exploring themes of existential dread, solitude, and the inexorable passage of time. Antoine Scholtes‘ masterful composition and multi-instrumental execution breathe life into WURMIAN’s vision, weaving icy harmonies with thunderous riffs and cavernous growls.
Taking inspiration from titans of melancholic extremity such as Katatonia, October Tide, Amorphis, and Edge of Sanity, WURMIAN forges a sound that is both reverential and forward-thinking. “Immemorial Shrine” is an album that resonates with sorrow and intensity in equal measure, offering a deeply introspective yet sonically crushing experience.
Blaxem are a devastatingly heavy modern metal band from Chile, a beacon of light in dark times accompanied by a distinct heavy feel that rings true. The band just premiered a new music video for their technically brutal new single entitled “Grey Summit“. The music video was directed by Guille Malatesta while the band was on tour in Buenos Aires, Argentina. “Grey Summit” is the second single & music video taken from their upcoming album Ethereal which will be released on May 16, 2025 via Eclipse Records. The album was produced by Dann Hidalgo and Guille Malatesta, engineered & mixed by Dann Hidalgo, and mastered by Hakeen Mishea.
“This is a very special video because of the footage shown” says vocalist/guitarist Dann Hidalgo. “This is a compilation of memories that we created in Bueno Aires. This city is probably one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever had the pleasure of performing in. It was also the hottest summer we have ever experienced so it was a difficult task to move around with so much of our gear. But most certainly the people, the culture and the city were most welcoming and very warm. We are so grateful for the opportunity and this video represents those feelings.”
Blaxem serve up a raucous monster-mash of hard driving burn n’ crunch with their new EP Ethereal. The album is amazingly uplifting in not only the unadulterated rawness of the musical presentation, but in its passion and power. More specifically, track to track, listeners will notice non-linear, clever songwriting chock full of twists, turns, and satisfying surprises as well as lead guitar performances that would bend our hearts to the breaking point and dazzle our senses with such intricate, power-shredding that one stands amazed that so many sweet notes could fit in one measure. As for overall theming, the band seems to illustrate world-culture as a pilgrimage of starless gloom through which we overcome our lack of purpose and direction through truth, strength, and empathy. That said, listeners will rejoice in this glorious journey through the underworld of gut-wrenching riffs and long shadowed caverns, thunderous drums and old stone corridors lit only by the dim and damp glow of torches flickering along the stories of the shattered world written on the walls in dark blood. The bass guitar is lethal phantom, banging in the attic, knocking about in the tool shed, pounding under the cellar stairs, and the growl vocal rips open your soul, raising haunted angels from the red mist to sing you a death knell. Ethereal features cover art designed by Hakeen Mishea, and it is scheduled for release on May 16, 2025.
Wormholedeath is proud to announce the signing of Italian gothic rock/hard goth revolutionaries BLAX for their highly anticipated sophomore album, “Certesia”, slated for release on 25 April 2025. A storm of shadow and steel, BLAX merges brooding gothic atmospheres with industrial grit, alternative edge, and the unapologetic fury of hard rock/metal, crafting a sound that defies genre walls while paying homage to the dark romanticism of ’80s icons.
Following their 2022 debut “Meravilia”—a cult favorite that carved their name into the underground—“Certesia” marks a journey inward. The album explores a metaphorical “village” of personal certainties, with each track dissecting introspective facets of identity. “This isn’t just music—it’s a pilgrimage,” says the band. “‘Certesia’ is where we confront our shadows and embrace the chaos of self-discovery. It’s raw, theatrical, and unflinchingly honest.”
