Depressive black metallers GHOST BATH have emerged from beyond the veil with their new album, Rose Thorn Necklace, which will be released on May 9th via Nuclear Blast Records. The band, in their 12th year of existence, are not in the business of softening the edges. Rather, the frontman (Nameless aka Dennis Mikula) is leaning more toward his antisocial traits, serrated like a rusty knife yet beautifully honed over years of toil.
The band unveil the atmospheric second single, ‘Well, I Tried Drowning’. Watch the video directed by Claudio Marino of Artax Film.
GHOST BATH comments, “‘Well, I Tried Drowning’ is a plea for death, not by my own hand but for someone else to do the courtesy as I have not been able to bring myself to do. It is a fantasy -rooted in wishful thinking- that someone would cut my throat in my sleep, finally ending my life as I drown in my own blood. Wish fulfillment in blunt, gory detail.”
Rose Thorn Necklace was recorded in 2024 between January and June. The drums were recorded and engineered by Mike Heller atHeaven and Heller Studios while the remaining sections were completed by Nameless (Dennis Mikula) at his home studio. The album was mixed and mastered by Jack Shirley. The cover artwork was created by Ksenija Tarasova. Free from the Moonlover–Starmourner-Self Loather conceptual trilogy, sole proprietor Nameless (aka Dennis Mikula) explores the most intense and introspective music from GHOST BATH’s oeuvre, advancing with blackened blasts and melancholic movements while moving his only child forward into the unknown.

Unilukkari (Finnish noun) 1. a church officer who would wake up sleeping people 2. (figuratively) one who provokes or arouses discussion, etc.
The debut album of new Finnish psychedelic dark folk duo UNILUKKARI was released on the 5th of April. Titled “Metsänpeitto” (Finnish for Forest Cover), the album delves deep into Finnish folklore and legends – especially their more obscure and strange side.
The album’s lyrics and spoken word segments are courtesy of Tonttufindergeneral Hanz-Baal (TFG), known from the martial industrial band TONTTU, while the instruments are performed by Markiisi.
“When we started working on this project, it was clear from the beginning that the subject would be Finnish mythology” says Markiisi. “However, we wanted to bring a fresh perspective to the material in some way. Quite a lot of folk metal and neofolk has been made about this subject, so we ended up with a slightly different approach, which came quite naturally from the depths of Finnish folklore. Finnish mythology has a lot of strange beliefs and peculiar characters, from which TFG drew inspiration from for the lyrics. Based on that, I got the idea to combine psychedelic folk with alternative rock and dark ambient.”
The album utilizes segments performed on traditional instruments like the jawharp, the kantele and the goat horn, to strengthen the folkloristic atmosphere. The psychedelic and ethereal synth soundscapes carry the listener from track to track. In places the album leans more towards folk, while in other places the songs turn into pure rock music, while also giving space for ambient interludes. As a whole, “Metsänpeitto” is a conventionally unconventional experience.
The album was released through Savo-Karelian Productions, and is available as a digital download and CD here.
Fifteen Stitches, the Washington South Sound quartet channeling the Pacific Northwest’s grunge legacy into a modern hard rock beast, has dropped the official music video for “Light Psycho.” This relentless hard rock anthem is straight out of a slasher flick! With razor-sharp riffs and lyrics that dive deep into the mind of a deranged predator, this track drips with intensity, obsession, and pure horror.
Fusing the band’s live energy and channeling classic horror films, the Light Psycho video captures Fifteen Stitches’ passion for performance with a touch of humor, adding a twisted edge to the madness.
Fueled by raw energy and unhinged aggression, “Light Psycho” delivers a sinister dose of fear, control, and chaos. Is this track a literal ode to serial killer chaos? Or a metaphor for the monsters we bury within? Press play… if you dare to find out.
“Light Psycho” is taken from Fifteen Stitches’ EP Beyond The Wall, out via Wormholedeath. The record dives deep into humanity’s struggles, inner demons, and the search for a better future, delivering a crushing fusion of hard rock, prog, glam, and grunge.
Hailing from the South Sound of Washington, Fifteen Stitches is a sonic powerhouse featuring Tim Perdue (vocals), Chris Pasinetti (guitar), Rob Field (bass), and James Ortega (drums). With roots in bands like Cries of Tammuz, Painted Window, and The Ventures, the band channels the raw spirit of the Pacific Northwest’s legendary music scene.
Hungarian heavy metal fusionists TERRA NULLIUS proudly unveil the music video for “Tiéd a szabadság”, a track from their latest album, Magam Bajnoka, out now via Wormholedeath.
At its core, “Tiéd a szabadság” explores the profound bond between parent and child. It’s a journey through guidance, values, and the ultimate realization that true freedom lies in making one’s own choices. This deeply emotional and musically striking piece blends Terra Nullius’ signature fusion of heavy metal and classical influences, making for an unforgettable listening experience.
Founded through drummer László Sztancsik’s vision of merging metal and classical music, Terra Nullius took shape when cellist János Madaras joined the project in November 2020. Their first single, “Mindig Tarts,” released on August 18, 2021, marked their official debut. With unwavering determination, the band pushed forward through lineup changes, crafting their debut album, Magam Bajnoka, which dropped on December 8, 2023, under H-Music. Now, with a unique blend of orchestral grandeur and crushing metal riffs, Terra Nullius is setting a new standard in the heavy music landscape.
Southern California rockers Robert Jon & The Wreck have officially announced the release of their ninth studio album, Heartbreaks & Last Goodbyes, due out August 22nd via Journeyman Records. Produced by the legendary Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell, Rival Sons), the new album finds the band firing on all cylinders—raw, reflective, and tighter than ever.
“It was an incredible honour to collaborate with Dave Cobb on our new record,” shares frontman Robert Jon Burrison. “Not only has he worked with artists we deeply admire, but he’s also been a producer we’ve respected for over a decade. Heartbreaks & Last Goodbyes feels like a true reflection of who Robert Jon & The Wreck is as a band. From the moment we arrived in Savannah, GA, to record, we felt an immediate sense of comfort and ease—something rare in a typical studio environment. Being away from our usual routines, living together, and immersing ourselves in the new songs from start to finish created an album we are incredibly proud of. We can’t wait to share it with the world and bring it to life on stage.”
Alongside the announcement, the band has shared their latest single, ‘Highway‘, a soaring, mid-tempo rocker that showcases everything fans have come to love about The Wreck: blistering twin guitar harmonies, emotionally charged vocals, and a driving rhythm section. Produced by Cobb and recorded in Savannah, “Highway” blends the band’s classic heartland sound with fresh, cinematic urgency.
“‘Highway’ is a favourite of ours on Heartbreaks & Last Goodbyes—a song that started as a loose melodic concept on an acoustic guitar in Henry’s apartment, and evolved into a full-blown powerhouse,” adds Robert. “When we brought it into rehearsals in Costa Mesa, it just clicked with the band. Dave Cobb helped us elevate the track by pushing the tempo and building out the dynamics. Lyrically, it’s a heartfelt love song—wide open, full throttle, and impossible to get out of your head.”
“It never strayed far from the original vision Robert and I had,” notes guitarist Henry James. “Cobb brought a new level of spontaneity and emotional edge to the sessions. This track hits hard and still gives you the feels—it’s everything we love about rock ’n’ roll.”
According to bassist Warren Murrel, the Savannah sessions represented a major turning point for the band: “For the first time in our band’s history, we had the opportunity to live at the studio while recording. Instead of dealing with LA traffic and squeezing in sessions between other commitments, we got to immerse ourselves fully in the music—writing, recording, and refining songs every day for over a week. It was an experience that allowed us to be completely present in the creative process. Dave Cobb has a way of getting under the hood of a song, pushing it further than we ever thought possible. His guidance challenged us in the best ways and helped bring this album to life in a way we’re truly proud of.”
Heartbreaks & Last Goodbyes captures the band at a creative peak, drawing from real-life experiences of love, loss, and redemption. Across ten riveting tracks, Robert Jon & The Wreck explores the full emotional spectrum, delivered with thunderous riffs, razor-sharp grooves, and some of their most compelling lyrics to date. The album was mixed by Greg Gordon, known for his work with Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson, Jason Isbell, and Rival Sons. It will be available on CD, limited edition coloured vinyl, and in special merch bundles, including an exclusive shirt and bandana package.
“This album is a candid musical reflection of who we are today,” adds Henry. “Tales of love gone awry, love gone right, camaraderie, estrangement, lessons learned, dark shadows, and bright lights—all wrapped into one.”
“Highway” follows the release of several acclaimed tracks from the upcoming album, including the fiery, John Oates co-written “Long Gone,” the introspective ballad “Ashes in the Snow,” and the high-octane “Sittin’ Pretty.” Each single has spotlighted a different facet of the band’s evolving sound, building anticipation for what promises to be their most ambitious album yet.
The band is currently on the road for a packed 2025 tour that includes headline dates across Europe and North America, plus appearances at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Askena Rock Festival, Hookrock, and Chinook Fest. With stops in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, and major U.S. cities from New York to Fargo, fans worldwide will get to experience the new songs live for the first time.
