Bochum’s sludge/post-metal duo TranscomaR is back with a powerful lyric video for “Dictatorship”. The track, taken from their album The Sea of Trees, offers fans a brutal critique of society through raw and visceral sound.
Dictatorship” dissects the human condition under oppressive systems, exploring themes of greed, addiction, and societal decay. The band’s unique blend of sludge and post-metal seethes with tension, delivering a heavy-hitting anthem that amplifies despair and rage with an unflinching intensity. Lyrically and sonically, the track captures humanity’s relentless self-destructive spiral and the cycles of suffering we seem unable to break free from.
TranscomaR is a two-piece band from Bochum, Germany, formed by friends Ramin and Tobias in 2018. They initially met through a mutual friend while living in an alternative house community, where Ramin often joined Tobias’ punk band to jam. Over time, their shared passion for music led them to form their band. After playing on local stages and facing pandemic restrictions, they recorded their debut album, The Sea of Trees, in 2022, which was released a year later on Bandcamp. Their sound blends grunge, sludge, and post-metal, featuring heavy, down-tuned guitars, intense shouting, and occasional noise storms.
Finnish folk metal goliaths ENSIFERUM are pleased to present their video for “Victorious.” The track is taken from the band’s Winter Storm full-length, out now on Metal Blade Records, and arrives in advance of the band’s upcoming North American co-headlining tour with Korpiklaani.
A grandiose and heroic offering, Winter Storm centers itself on a fantasy concept narrative penned by bassist Sami Hinkka. “Victorious” follows the band’s “The Howl” video where the young boy in the story grows up and becomes a shaman. His people are losing the war and as his final deed, he calls upon the Old Spirits one last time. He sacrifices his mortal form and becomes a spirit wolf and starts his journey to find The One to avenge for his people’s fate.
Offers Hinkka on “Victorious,” “The One and the spirit wolf have now roamed the lands and gathered an army. They march to the gates of the city of the Winter Storm Vigilantes. The battle starts, but who shall be the last to stand on the battlefield? Who shall be victorious? This fast and furious song calls everyone into a moshpit! We are victorious!“
Watch ENSIFERUM‘s previously released videos for “Winter Storm Vigilantes,” “Long Cold Winter Of Sorrow And Strife,” “Fatherland,” and “The Howl,” which, when viewed consecutively, create a short movie, HERE.
ENSIFERUM‘s Winter Storm was produced by Janne Joutsenniemi, mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren, and includes guest appearances by Lassi Logrén on Nyckelharpa and violin and Mikko Mustonen on orchestration as well as Eleine’s Madeleine Liljestam who provides all vocals on “Scars In My Heart.“
ENSIFERUM will return to North America next week with their comrades in Korpiklaani for the Folkfest Of The North co-headlining tour. The trek begins on February 27th in Boston, Massachusetts and runs through March 30th in Brooklyn, New York. Additional support will be provided by Trollfest and Nini. Finnish melodic death/folk metal band Warfarer have released the instrumental version of their debut concept album “A Tale Beyond the Pale”, which was released at the end of 2024 via Inverse Records.
“We’ve always been fans of instrumental releases and knew we wanted todo the same with our debut album. Some aficionados prefer music without vocals, while others might want to create their own karaoke versions.
Back when our singer Kalle was learning to sing, he struggled to find quality instrumental metal tracks to practice with. It was frustrating how rare they were. We wanted to change that. By releasing this instrumental edition, we hope to give aspiring vocalists the chance to sing along with their favorite tracks. We also encourage other bands to do the same and make it easier for the next generation of metal singers.
Meanwhile, pre-production for our next EP is nearing completion. This new release will delve deeper into the events and experiences that have shaped our Northern stories. Rousing choruses guaranteed!”
01. Heir Uncrowned [instrumental] 02. As the Portents Foretold [instrumental] 03. Brotherslayer [instrumental] 04. Bereaver [instrumental] 05. Betrayer [instrumental] 06. In the Gravelight [instrumental] 07. March Through the Endless Snow [instrumental] 08. The Gates to Realms Beyond [instrumental]
Born from the frost of Northern Finland in 2013, Warfarer weaves chilling tales of small people’s great struggles amidst ancient myths. Their ferocious blend of melodic death metal and symphonic elements bites like the freezing wind and grips you like the flu.
After releasing an EP in 2017 and undergoing a complete reincarnation with new singles in 2018 and 2020, the band is more alive than ever, preparing for war with brutal new songs and sharpened axes. Their concept album, ‘A Tale Beyond the Pale’, released in November 2024, delves into the Finnish myth of the Brotherslayer, taking listeners on a journey through jealousy, scheming, Viking raids, duels under the Northern Lights, and an eventual descent into guilt and madness.
Line-up: Kalle Puutio – Lead Vocals, Rhythm Guitars Seppo Kolehmainen – Lead Guitars, Backing Vocals Klaus Telenius – Bass, Backing Vocals Tuomas Rahikainen – Keyboards, Backing Vocals Julius Lehtonen – Drums
Greek atmospheric black metallers LUCIFER’S CHILD premiere lyric video for new single “As Bestas”, lifted from the band’s anticipated third studio album “The Illuminant”, due out March 28th via Agonia Records.
Listen to the song here:
After a seven year slumber which LUCIFER’S CHILD slipped into following its last full-length record “The Order” – a slumber veiled in shadow and silence – the Greek black metal quartet reawakens the fire which never fully ceased to burn or amaze. In a phoenix-like reprise, the group channels the heights of its esoteric ponder and the depths of its harrowing despair into “The Illuminant”.
The album marks a profound evolution in LUCIFER’s CHILD sound, aspiring to “a journey deeper into the abyss and the emotions, where the extreme meets the melodic, and the unseen becomes manifest,” points out co-founder/guitarist George Emmanuel (ex-Rotting Christ, ex-Chaostar, Necromantia). “Our new album represents a bold evolution in our sound. It is an intense journey that blends the dark, the emotion, and the melody. With eight blasphemous tracks, it is both a reckoning and a revelation, a fire that consumes but also renews. This is our revelation, and we can’t wait to share its intensity across the stages.”
“The Illumimnant” was produced, mixed and mastered by George Emmanuel at Pentagram Studio (Demonical, Septicflesh, Necromantia) with the exception of drums which were recorded at Pale Blue Dot Studios. The album’s cover artwork was hand-drawn by Daniele Valeriani (Dark Funeral, Mayhem).
Tracklisting: 1. Antichrist 2. As Bestas 3. The Serpent And The Rod 4. Ichor 5. Righteous Flama 6. Curse 7. The heavens die 8. And all is prelude
LUCIFER’S CHILD was formed in 2013 in Athens (Greece) by said George Emmanuel and bassist Stathis Ridis (ex-Nightfall). The duo quickly expanded into a quartet, with vocalist Marios Dupont (Karma Violens) and drummer Nick Vell (Chaostar), and released the debut album “The Wiccan” in 2015. Encouraged by the album’s reception, which entailed a string of festival dates (inc. Inferno Festival, Blastfest and Incineration Festival), they delivered a follow-up record titled “The Order” (2018). The album successively emphasized the band’s classic black metal approach, heavy on atmosphere and replete with dark aesthetics, all the more highlighted by Daniele Valeriani‘s cover artwork. The music video for the album’s title song hit over 150k streams on YoutTube and over 500k on Spotify. The collision of Brazilian occultism & Hellenic blasphemy ensues blistering sonic impressions on “Under Statn’s Wrath” – the band’s last output, recorded in alliance with Mystifier and released in 2022. Intact since its formation, LUCIFER’S CHILD line-up welcomes a new bassist on the upcoming album “The Illuminant”, Kostas Gerochristos.
