Brace yourself for an emotional journey as EVIG NATT unveils their latest single, “At The End Of The Night”, the third offering from their highly anticipated album, “Vaketimen”, set to immerse listeners in their signature blend of orchestral gothic doom.
Where Light Meets Darkness: The Essence of ‘At the End of the Night
This powerful track delves deep into themes of loss, peace, and solace, offering a glimmer of comfort in life’s darkest moments. Whether the words feel like a voice from within or faint whispers from a lost loved one, “At The End Of The Night” seeks to provide emotional resonance and understanding during times of grief.
A Haunting Choice: The Visual Tale of ‘At the End of the Night
Accompanying the single is a captivating music video that narrates the harrowing journey of a young woman facing the ultimate nightmare. As she confronts her greatest fears, the video leaves us questioning: Will she overcome her inner demons, or will she succumb to the shadows?
The single “At the End of the Night” also includes the previously released tracks “Sorrow My World” and “Når Lyset Svikte.”
EVIG NATT’s music is aggressive but subtle, noisy yet beautiful, a maelstrom of symphonic darkness that could only be described as Orchestral Gothic Doom Metal. From the unholy metal grounds of Karmøy, west Norway, this band follows in the footsteps of Einherjer and Enslaved, featuring ex-band members of both.
EVIG NATT was started as a studio project in 2003, by vocalist Kirsten Jørgensen and bassist Stein Sund. Soon after that, EVIG NATT recruited drummer Harald Magne Revheim. In 2006 EVIG NATT signed with Omvina Records, and released their highly acclaimed debut album «I Am Silence» in early 2007.
EVIG NATT added Oskar Naley on vocals, Ruben Osnes, and Arne Marton Tangjerd on guitars for the recording of their darker and heavier second offering. After signing with Black Bards in 2009 “Darkland” was released to raving reviews in April 2010. This alliance saw EVIG NATT featured in national magazines worldwide, including Metal Hammer and Scream.
EVIG NATT released their third self-titled album «Evig Natt» on March 19th, 2016 and off the back of that got to tour countries such as Belgium and Japan.
EVIG NATT’s sound is unique, blending everything from progressive metal to black metal, and incorporates inspiration from bands like Anathema, My Dying Bride, Swallow The Sun, and The Provenance. This is a band to keep an eye out for!

Continuing the international success of the Mandoki Soulmates’ latest album, A Memory Of Our Future, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Vice President Jason Hanley invited Leslie Mandoki to the Rock Hall to celebrate “30 Years Of Soulmates” in the motherland of rock music. “We are thrilled to welcome Leslie Mandoki to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame to commemorate 30 years of Mandoki Soulmates and their latest album, A Memory of Our Future,” Hanley said, and honored Mandoki’s oft-quoted maxim that “music is the greatest unifier,” especially in this “labyrinth of crises where the compass has seemingly been lost.”
This Thursday evening in the Theater of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland became one of those memorable magical moments: During an evening of stories, film and music, the audience was treated to a look behind the scenes in the new film Mandoki Soulmates Inside Sound, shown here for the first time. The legendary musicians in the Soulmates are seen recording in the studio and playing live on stage; we see what backstage life is like and learn about the nearly-lost art of creating an entire album using a completely analog process, from first note to final vinyl LP. The film was followed by a Q&A with Leslie Mandoki, a devotee and master of analogue recordings, which he views as a way to honor his fans, saying he insists on their quality to send “a handwritten love letter to our audience—not a text message.” In addition, many fascinating stories about playing with the Soulmates over 30 years were recounted, including tales of band and Rock Hall members Chaka Khan, and the late Jack Bruce and Jon Lord.
Mandoki expressed his very personal gratitude to the Rock Hall and the audience: “What an honor be here in the legendary Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and to present our new album A Memory Of Our Future here. My father was right when he told me on his deathbed ‘Don’t dream your life, live your dream.’ I was 15 years old, and that became my life’s motto.”
Leslie Mandoki’s own story begins with his escape from behind the Iron Curtain to pursue freedom of musical expression, which eventually led to his work as a producer for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees including Phil Collins, Chaka Khan, and Lionel Richie, as well as working in key roles with icons of rock music such as Eric Burdon, Jon Lord, Robin Gibb, and Peter Frampton, as well as Jennifer Rush und Bonnie Tyler, and ultimately to the founding of the Mandoki Soulmates band. This virtuosic meeting of musical minds has been rightly called a “band of bandleaders,” and Leslie has become known as the “Hungarian Quincy Jones,” dubbed thusly by Steve Lukather and Al Di Meola. Younger Soulmate, bassist Richard Bona, explains: “Leslie and Quincy have the same kind of essence to pull out forces and put them together to get to this result. So, it’s a wonderful gift he’s got.” The late, great Jack Bruce compared this ability to unite different characters in the band, both humanly and musically, with Duke Ellington.
In 1992, Ian Anderson, Jack Bruce and Al Di Meola became founding members of what, until then, was Leslie Mandoki’s project band, Mandoki Soulmates. Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) describes Leslie as the “master chef in the kitchen, mixing all these exotic spices and mystical musical influences together. He is a great musician and it’s very rare that you get good musicians and good record producers in one person. He is the mastermind, we just turn up for work.” Over the years, Leslie has continued to bring new musicians into the fold, and the Soulmates have developed into a unique supergroup with 13 albums, several live DVDs, Blu-rays, and countless concerts worldwide. The result of all this was once summed up by Greg Lake (Emerson, Lake & Palmer) who simply described the Soulmates as “one of the best bands you will ever hear.”
Mandoki’s vision for the Soulmates band is to bring progressive jazz-rock back to sociopolitical relevance. For him, music has always been an expression of freedom. With intellectual, poetic lyrics, the band takes a stand on sociopolitical change. Even after more than 30 years, the Mandoki Soulmates prove that they are one of the most creative and committed bands of our time. A Memory Of Our Future impresses not only with its musical brilliance, but also with its profound messages that encourage and unite us in a challenging world. As Supertramp saxophonist and Mandoki Soulmates member John Helliwell tells it, Leslie is “a bona fide rock star who travels in the circles of presidents and prime ministers—Mikhail Gorbachev called Leslie ‘my old friend’ and told him that rock and roll was instrumental in tearing down what Churchill called the Iron Curtain. Leslie’s whole story, which he tells through his music, is about escaping oppression and standing up for freedom – and for this he was honored by Henry Kissinger“.
Mandoki explains: “In these trying times, when the bridge-builders in our society are missing or ineffective, we artists have a responsibility to respectfully, and with humility, give something back to the audience – for their decades of love, and for carrying us in their hands forward to this day.”
“Especially in New York, where I’ve recently spent much time, A Memory Of Our Future is getting traction with American media as one of the ‘most important albums of the year.’ At the Times Square billboard in New York City, our album cover beamed at me with the caption ‘Modern Day Masterpiece.’ The black swan cover image is an eye-catcher, and is prominently displayed in the trendy record stores in New York and London—and it literally shone like a light at the end of the tunnel for my Soulmate John Helliwell and me from the LED wall in London’s Waterloo Station. The euphoric reviews, especially from America, really touch me: I fled to the West through the Iron Curtain as a young musician almost 50 years ago, so this is a realization of a dream. As a teenager in the East, I was immensely proud of my seventh-generation tape copy of a copy of a copy (etc.) of a Jethro Tull album that I played (in mono) on my “Tesla” brand tape recorder. I dreamed that one day my own records would be presented in the legendary HMV flagship record store on London’s Oxford Street.” Soulmates founding member Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull says, looking back on Leslie Mandoki’s story, “Leslie often thinks of himself as a ‘refugee,’ escaping from something disagreeable and leaving the past behind. But I prefer to think of Leslie as one who arrives in a new place, with new resolve, new commitment, new optimism.”
As is customary at events like this at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, after the main event, Mandoki met the enthusiastic audience members, talking with them and signing CDs, LPs, and the 30 Years of Mandoki Soulmates Tour Book until late in the evening.
Los Angeles based NWOTHM (New Wave of Traditional Heavy Metal) frontrunners SABER not only reissue their much acclaimed 2020-debut “Without Warning” as a limited vinyl and CD edition (available at this location!), but also celebrate the release of their brand new studio offering “Lost In Flames”,out now on ROAR! To purchase the band’s new album, visit: https://saber.rpm.link/lostinflamespr
Rock Hard Magazine Germany writes: “The band rocks brilliantly on “Lost In Flames”. Stylistically, SABER is reminiscent of other flagship bands of the New Wave Of Traditional Heavy Metal such as Haunt, Visigoth or Ironflame and in terms of quality, they don’t need to hide from these formations either,” while Rock It! Magazine confirms, it’s “a fantastic album for all fans of NWoBHM!”“As much as I enjoyed the raw, aggressive debut, these are better constructs, with stronger tunes and performances, top to bottom”, attests Bravewords.com, and Metal Underground in Austria is convinced, that “SABER’s »Lost In Flames« is a triumphant addition to the contemporary heavy metal landscape.”
SABER is known for their uniquely sleazy take on the NWOTHM sound. The band emerged in 2018 after lead guitarist Joel Dominguez, who was already working on some similar material with rhythm guitarist Jesus Delgado and bassist David Sanchez, received a message from singer Steven Villa about starting a new 80s-inspired band.
A series of thundering tracks followed soon after, which were refined into their 2020 debut album “Without Warning”. Produced and released with the help of Trevor William Church (HAUNT), who also filled in as the drummer, the album received overwhelmingly positive reactions. Being named as one of Bandcamp’s best albums of the year and outranking EXODUS and IRON MAIDEN on “BraveWords” annual Top 30 list cemented their place on the scene.
Sonically and aesthetically, SABER’s artistic identity is firmly rooted in the 80s. With Jesus now as their drummer and the addition of guitarist Antonio ‘Yogi’ Pettinato, the fearsome fivesome draws from notable influences such as JUDAS PRIEST, QUEENSRYCHE, RIOT, CRIMSON GLORY and IRON MAIDEN. Through their own unique lens, they’ve created a distinctly energetic audiovisual experience that resonates with their diverse and growing fanbase. “We are heavily inspired by all 80s music, including the glam era. Though our looks are unmistakably glam, don’t let that fool you… our songs are heavy and loud!”, says Joel Dominguez. SABER quickly rose to the forefront of theNWOTHM scene, playing traditional heavy metal in a fresh way.
After two years playing and touring alongside legends like NIGHT DEMON, SACRED REICH, HAUNT and SCREAMER at playing well known events like Decibel’s “Metal and Beer Fest” and the sold-out “Hell’s Heroes Fest”, SABER finally releases their sophomore album, “Lost In Flames”. The new tracks mark a new chapter and unleashes a logical follow-up by a band that grew together and got more experienced.
Once again SABER went back to their friend and supporter Trevor at Church Recordings, where they recorded “Lost In Flames”, that was mixed and mastered by Darren Trentacoste. The result is fresh and unique, wild and… hungry! Make sure to get your copy of “Lost In Flames” HERE, an album that belongs into every well-sorted Heavy Metal record collectionby one of the hottest and unique new bands of the NWOTHM scene, as the future of metal definitely belongs to SABER!

The relentless thrash-death metal juggernaut ATROX TRAUMA is back with their latest visual assault: the official music video for “I Am the Master (Burning Desire),” the third single from their highly anticipated second album Where Death Hunts. Set for release on April 18, 2025, via WormHoleDeath Records, the track is an unapologetic anthem of self-empowerment and defiance.
The band describes the track as a visceral declaration of inner strength, channeling lyrics that serve as a battle cry for the disenfranchised:
“I am the Master of my fate. I am the captain of my soul. I am the leader on my way. I am the diamond I keep grinding…” These words fill me with energy as I say them. They empower me as I shout them into the universe, electrifying me completely. It’s like a mantra. When you listen to the song, say these words to yourself, but they’re even more powerful if you say them out loud. Pay attention to the effect. “I Am the Master (Burning Desire)” is the third music video from our upcoming album, which will be released on April 18th.
Directed by visual artist András Székely, the video mirrors the song’s ferocity, blending stark, cinematic visuals with the band’s signature chaotic energy.
Atrox Trauma was founded in 2008 in Hungary. Their goal, according to the music genre, was clear from the beginning: thrash metal with death metal influences. The band recorded 2 EPs during its earlier years besides performing on live gigs. The band’s strength increased in 2019, and they have been spinning at an unstoppable speed since then. It gave a series of concerts in its motherland and countries in the neighborhood. The band creates a huge listener experience with its tight, intense, fast, and face-tearing music. In 2022 they released their first LP called ‘On The Line Of Nothing And Something’ by the Italian label WormHoleDeath. The listener can experience everything from intense immersion to melodic thrash metal. Four music videos provide visual support for the fan-approachable experience. By the end of 2024, they took the stage in many countries, performing in tours and festivals, and recorded their second LP ”Where Death Hunts”.

Production Details “FROLIC: Live At the Great American Music Hall” was produced using high-fidelity multi-channel audio captured directly from the soundboard by front-of-house engineer Ivan Garcia and mixed and mastered by Andrew Peacock.
Coming off a banner year in terms of taking their live performances to the maximum of limits, rock greats Sweet still possess exceptional chemistry, which recently brought the house down throughout venues across North America. At the same time, the band released a new song/video, “Little Miracle,” which was received with rave reviews. Today, Darkstar Records is releasing the bands next single release “INSANE,” which can be heard below.
Last year while cutting “Little Miracle,” the group jammed in the studio which exemplified a fresh new approach which utilized instant spontaneity in creating and producing this hard rock masterpiece “INSANE.” Bassist/producer Stevie Stewart commented, “’Insane’ is a song that we are very proud of! We all poured our hearts into the creation of it. Everyone brought their ‘A’ game to ‘Insane’!”
Drummer/composer Richie Onori also added, “As we started to blast into the high-power groove, singer Patrick Alan Stone directed the band with his hands flailing about, you could see he heard in his head which eventually took shape in the final heavy metal rendition The comic strip lyric video really illustrates the well-crafted storyline that Stone created. Guitarist Jimmy Burkard blistering solo section rivals hands down the who’s who of guitar heroes of yesteryear. Stevie Stewart’s incredible vocal arrangements and overall production in my own opinion.”
“I wanted to write a rocker that hits you in many ways,” added Burkard. “It’s tough, it makes you tap your feet, it makes you sing along. Aggressive but with catchy harmony vocals, killer guitar and swinging drums. It felt good to be in a rehearsal room and write organically as a band.”
“’Insane’ flew into my head like a bat out of hell,” said Stone. “I went into the shower without it, came out and in my head it was done. I sent Jimmy a voice memo humming the song and he sent back the sick riff on guitar the way we hear it in the recording. We shared it with the band while recording ‘Little Miracle’ and got so into it, Richie hammered the drums down on the spot. Working the track with Stevie in post really brought that ‘sweet sound”’ that only working with Steve Priest for almost two decades can bring. The lyric ‘Insane’ popped out during that recording session, as well. The hook was there. After watching the movies ‘X’ and ‘Maxxxine,’ a character in my head came to life and I wrote the lyrics to this half imaginary, half true love, heroine. ‘Insane’ really takes Sweet back to its roots of dirty rock n’ roll, crazy chord changes and larger than life harmonies. This is The Sweet we’ve been waiting for and this band is proving that the integrity of Brian, Mick, Andy and Stevie lives on in us.”
Merging the “Sweet” recognizable sound into what the legendary group always stood for: exploration into all genres without losing the integrity by stitching together the groups special formula, “Insane” does all of the above. The rhythm section of Stewart and Onori lay it down as this rock n’ roll work of art glides along fast and furious towards a wild roller coaster ride into a cascade of vocal and guitar harmonies.
The group is now tracking a song that has been in the group archives which Steve Priest wrote and played bass and sang, “Sweet Dream.” Sweet’s reformation started in 2007, and ‘Sweet Dream’ was something he was proud of.
This new song demonstrates the same driving force and unpredictable musical quality that has always been the hallmark and essence of The Sweet’s iconic sound. And will always be.
