STERBHAUS(ex members of Shining, Elvira Madigan, Ondskapt etc) will release a new single “Deth Bü Wolfe” on the 21st of February. The last full length album was released ten years ago – so it is no understatement that this is quite an event! In fact, 2025 will be the year the snake (according to the Chinese) and the year of Sterbhaus – according to… Well;Sterbhaus!
“Deth Bü Wolfe” (spelling obviously intentional) is the first new song from the upcoming album “Next Akin to Chaos” and according to vocalist/bassist Marcus Hammarström:
“This was obviously gonna be the first single even eight years ago when it was first written. It’s just an immediate Sterbhaus classic that’s chock full of hooks, riffs, solos and fierce spitting vocals. If you don’t get hooked after the first “ugh” then something must be seriously wrong with you. But then again, there’s always something wrong with everybody!!”
Check out the single teaser below:
STERBHAUS is the home of Marcus Hammarström(prev Shining, Elvira Madigan), Jimmy Ahovalli and Erik Röjås (prev Ondskapt, Decadence) and even though the band announced its retirement in 2019 it was also made official that – apart from releasing the live album “Necrostabbing at Göta Källare” in 2021 (which actually charted at #1 for physical format in Sweden!) the very last thing to happen – was going to be the release of one more album.
And now the time has come! Well… at least when it comes to revealing the first song… It has been well worth the wait, and the wait is officially over on the 21st of February. You don’t want to miss this!!
Max Blok (Alkaloid, Dark Fortress) has joined dutch death metal legends PESTILENCE as their second, full-time lead guitarist after the departure of Rutger van Noordenburg. The band is currently working on its tenth studio album, “Portals”, expected to be released in June on Agonia Records.
Rutger van Noordenburg has been with PESTILENCE from 2019 to 2025. During that time, he recorded one full-length album with the band – 2021’s “Exitivm” – and the best-of album, 2024’s “Levels Of Perception”. His playthrough for the song “Deificvs” can be watched here.
On his departure, Rutger van Noordenburg comments: “Dear all, my time with Pestilence has come to an end. It is time for new musical adventures. I would like to thank the guys in the band and the management, especially Patrick for his awesome high speed train I was able to board for the last 6 years. We played countless shows in many countries and I feel very fortunate for all the memories created, all the friends made and all the fans out there. It has simply been an amazing experience being welcomed by fans and friends around the globe and experiencing it all with a great bunch of guys.”
Rutger‘s duties will be taken over by Max Blok of Alkaloid and Dark Fortress fame. “Stoked to share that I’m now part of Pestilence,” Max comments. “Big thanks to Patrick, Michiel and Roel for having me in the band. I’m eager to explore the new paths ahead and see what the future holds.” Patrick Mameli adds: “We are very exited to announce, that Max Blok is taking over the second (lead) guitar spot in Pestilence. Wow, that went fast and smooth. Now, back to business: Portals, our upcoming album, is targeted for June 2025.”
PESTILENCE was established in the Netherlands in 1986 and is considered to be a genre-defying, progressive death metal phenom, who paved the way alongside Death, Cynic and Atheist. The group is led by founder, guitarist and mastermind Patrick Mameli, who’s been the band’s binding factor through two breakups and reunions. Both a reinvention and a confirmation of everything the band has been standing for since 1986, PESTILENCE is more than ever breaking new grounds and exploring the further outposts of extreme metal on “Exitivm” (2021) – their last album, which landed on several Billboard charts, most notably including Billboard 200. In recent years, the band remastered & reissued its classic catalog (feat. “Mallevs Maleficarvm”, “Consvming Impvlse”, “Testimony Of The Ancients” and “Spheres”), released a re-recorded best-of album “Levels Of Perception”, and announced “Portals” to be the title of its next studio album, which is nearing its completion.

Disciples of Verity, fronted by the legendary Corey Glover (Living Colour), have unveiled their latest single, “Thread the Needle,” through TLG|ZOID and distributed by Virgin Music Group.
The song is from their sophomore album titled NEXUS that was produced by George Pond and co-produced by Sahaj Ticotin. Accompanying the release of the single is a music video that offers a powerful visual representation of the song’s message.
Corey Pierce shares, “‘Thread the Needle’ is such a dynamic song as it’s based in the roots of pessimism versus hope in an abstract call to all of us moving into an unforseen future.”
“Thread the Needle” is now available on all major streaming platforms, and the accompanying music video can be viewed on the band’s official YouTube channel.
Fueled by an insatiable urge to create and collaborate, this heavy metal incarnation seeks to challenge all that they believe to be true with their project, Disciples of Verity (DOV). The band features heavy-hitters such as Corey Glover (Living Colour), Corey Pierce (God Forbid), George Pond (Negative Sky, Swim The Current), Mark Monjoy (Sekond Skyn), and Zack Miranowic (Sekond Skyn, Riversend). This all-star band unleashes an onslaught to the senses with a new sound that can only be described as “a new breed of crossover Metal.”
The band formed just over four years ago after mutual projects brought the five members together. With Pond as the common denominator, having played with each of these artists throughout his career, his songs with Corey Glover were quickly embraced by the others, which evolved into their debut album, Pragmatic Sanction.
Over the next eight months, DOV feverishly cranked out eight heavy, hook-laden songs with one distinct element—their infectious, melodic grooves. Ranging from Hardcore, Metalcore and even Active Rock, the band knew that their debut would be like nothing else in the industry and brought in a veritable “who’s who” of the hard rock and metal industry to up the ante.
Four years have passed since the release of their first single from Pragmatic Sanction. However, now comes the dawn of a new age. They have been quietly working on 12 new tracks for their sophomore album titled NEXUS. The band worked with producer Sahaj Ticcotin, who has worked with Starset, Motley Crue, RA, Bad Wolves, and many more. This monster of a record is set to be released in 2025 through TLG/ZOID, and distributed through Virgin Music Group.

The Intemperate Sons emerged onto the rock scene in the summer of 2019 in Dallas, TX, to bring their distinct sound to the genre. A deep love for music brought family members Keith Watson (drums), Jake Watson (guitars) and Max Watson (vocals, guitars, keys) together along with close friend Mark Marks, who provides the groove on bass to unite everything together. The band’s sound has been described as a 90’s alternative style that is obsessed with the 70’s.
Keith is well acquainted with entertaining massive crowds of concert goers and has played with many successful bands in Dallas, such as Gun Hill, Natural Born Thrillers and Agents of Solace, on top of opening for Lynch Mob, Joe Lynn Turner and Sponge. He is the primary lyricist for the band and has written the music for some of their most successful songs, including “Dust to Dust,” “The Color Within,” and “Unrealized.”
Multi-talented and gifted with the ability to play various instruments, Max is also the lead vocalist of the group. Along with being musically dexterous, he has also collaborated with Keith to write lyrics on the released songs “Going Crazy” and “Way Back When.” In the studio, Max usually surmounts expectations and goes above and beyond to prepare prior to a session with his own vocal harmonies.
Jake is the song architect of the Sons and extremely instrumental in the crafting of the music. His inventive ways of bringing lyrics to life in clever ways are unprecedented and fascinating to see in the studio setting. He is a prolific writer of music as well and is credited with helping create the songs “What’s Done is Done,” “Remission,” “Way Back When” and “Wading in the Gray.” Both Max and he play lead guitar on many of the songs as well. The other members of the band fondly refer to him as the “art director” since he enjoys taking charge in those areas for the group.
Prolific and unifying, Mark is an accomplished bass player and well known in Dallas. He was in the regionally successful band, Haggard, and had opened for Sebastian Bach of Skid Row. His input in song writing has been invaluable to the process of creating captivating melodies.
Despite the pandemic putting a pause on many major events, The Intemperate Sons lived up to their name and let nothing hold them back from making music. Constantly hard at work in the studio, they have collaborated with Amir Derakh (Julien-K, Dead by Sunrise, Orgy, Rough Cutt) and Ryan Shuck (Julien-K, Adema, Dead by Sunrise, Orgy). Both have lent their musical talents to various songs and ultimately have brought the Sons on to their label, Frame|Work. This led the band to also recently join the management roster at The Label Group. Ryan worked with Amir to produce the band’s upcoming track, “Game of Keep Away,” and has had a huge impact on the group. He’s been especially influential on Max’s vocal melodies and delivery. Amir also plays guitar on this latest ballad and has been mixing all of the band’s music as well as performing on multiple songs.
Another notable collaboration has been with Tony Franklin (The Firm, Roy Harper, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Whitesnake), primarily on the first album, The Color Within. He has been a valuable friend of the band and has played bass on some of their best tracks from that album, including “Running Man,” “Dust to Dust” and “The Color Within.”
The Intemperate Sons’ take on alternative rock is a dark and powerful concoction of hard rock mixed with folk and grunge concepts. The band has earned a serious reputation for writing and performing tracks that scratch deep into the backbone of the human experience. There is no shortage of darkness in their writing style, which has a retro vibe with many guitar-driven tracks stacked on top of a groovy rhythm section. The heavier style fits perfectly with the two and three-part vocal harmonies that are a huge part of their overall sound. It has been said that musicians that are related form unique sounds and communicate at a frequency only they can understand. This frequency has become engrained in their songwriting, arrangements, guitar melodies and vocal harmonies. The band has been compared to Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots and even R.E.M.
The Intemperate Sons are: Max Watson (vocals, backing vocals, guitars, keys, bass) Jake Watson (guitars, bass and backing vocals) Keith Watson (drums, backing vocals) Mark Marks (bass)
