SABER is known for their uniquely sleazy take on the NWOTHM sound. The band emerged in 2018 after lead guitarist Joel Dominguez, who was already working on some similar material with rhythm guitarist Jesus Delgado and bassist David Sanchez, received a message from singer Steven Villa about starting a new 80s-inspired band.
A series of thundering tracks followed soon after, which were refined into their 2021 debut album “Without Warning”. Produced and released with the help of Trevor William Church (HAUNT), who also filled in as the drummer, the album received overwhelmingly positive reactions. Being named as one of Bandcamp’s best albums of the year and outranking EXODUS and IRON MAIDEN on “BraveWords” annual Top 30 list cemented their place on the scene.
Sonically and aesthetically, SABER’s artistic identity is firmly rooted in the 80s. With Jesus now as their drummer and the addition of guitarist Antonio ‘Yogi’ Pettinato, the fearsome fivesome draws from notable influences such as JUDAS PRIEST, QUEENSRYCHE, RIOT, CRIMSON GLORY and IRON MAIDEN. Through their own unique lens, they’ve created a distinctly energetic audiovisual experience that resonates with their diverse and growing fanbase. “We are heavily inspired by all 80s music, including the glam era. Though our looks are unmistakably glam, don’t let that fool you… our songs are heavy and loud!”, says Joel Dominguez. SABER quickly rose to the forefront of theNWOTHM scene, playing traditional heavy metal in a fresh way.
After two years playing and touring alongside legends like NIGHT DEMON, SACRED REICH, HAUNT and SCREAMER at playing well known events like Decibel’s “Metal and Beer Fest” and the sold-out “Hell’s Heroes Fest”, SABER can’t wait to share their sophomore album, “Lost In Flames”, with their fan base. Joel reflects on how they got started, “The first new track I wrote for “Lost In Flames” was “On the Hunt”, which was the spark we needed. We were at rehearsal one day and I played the opening riff. Everyone was shocked, ‘Is that your riff?! Keep playing!’ By the end of that rehearsal that song was completed, and the heat flowed from then on. There were some tough times in the process and things kept happening that would derail our attempt to write songs. We persevered through it.” The new tracks also mark a new chapter and unleashes a logical follow-up by a band that grew together and got more experienced.
Once again SABER went back to their friend and supporter Trevor at Church Recordings, where they recorded “Lost In Flames”, that was mixed and mastered by Darren Trentacoste. The result is fresh and unique, wild and… hungry! Get ready for “Lost In Flames” from one of the hottest and unique new bands of the NWOTHM scene, as the future of metal definitely belongs to SABER!

Bochum, Germany-based metal act TranscomaR has inked a deal with Wormholedeath for the release of their debut album, The Sea of Trees. The album is set to drop on February 7, 2025, marking a significant milestone in the band’s journey.
At the core of “The Sea of Trees” lies its unique concept: stripping away the excess layers of emotion, situation, and inspiration, leaving only their pure essence. This concept shapes the album’s vibe and structure, showcasing the band’s vision through a minimalistic approach. By forgoing a wide range of instruments, they sharpen the focus of the songs, creating an intentional and immersive listening experience. The pacing is masterfully crafted, and musically, the record accomplishes exactly what it set out to achieve.
The band seamlessly blends experimentation with expert songwriting while capturing the raw energy of straight-up rock. They describe their sound as sitting between grunge, sludge, and post-metal. “If you enjoy broken shouting, down-tuned guitars, and the occasional noise storm, you’ll find yourself at home with us.”
In celebration of their signing announcement, TranscomaR is excited to unveil their latest single, ‘Dictatorship’—a powerful taste of what’s to come!
TranscomaR is a two-piece band from Bochum, Germany, formed by friends Ramin and Tobias in 2018. They initially met through a mutual friend while living in an alternative house community, where Ramin often joined Tobias’ punk band to jam. Over time, their shared passion for music led them to form their band. After playing on local stages and facing pandemic restrictions, they recorded their debut album, The Sea of Trees, in 2022, which was released a year later on Bandcamp. Their sound blends grunge, sludge, and post-metal, featuring heavy, down-tuned guitars, intense shouting, and occasional noise storms.
February 14, 2025 will see Barcelona-based heavy metal trio LÖANSHARK unleash their brand new studio album, No Sins To Confess, via powerhouse label ROAR. The pre-sale is available at: https://loanshark.rpm.link/nosinspr
After the up-and-coming heavy metal act previously shared first singles, the furious album opener “Electric Shockin’ Waves” and “The City Goes Fast”, today, LÖANSHARK present a video clip for “Another Man In The Trunk”!
The band comments: “Through its pounding riffs, its steamroller tempo and its visceral choruses, the song puts you in the role of a true loan shark whose message is clear: I am the boss in this city so don’t try to challenge me or play brave if you don’t want to end up gagged in a trunk…”
You want it true, heavy and loud? You love the 80s and you would die for pure fuckin’ Heavy Metal? Then LÖANSHARK is your band! You will find everything your metal heart is beating for within their traditional sound, that takes no prisoners!
LÖANSHARK was founded as a power-trio in 2017, in the heart of Barcelona and is currently taking the scene by storm as an uprising star on the NWOTHM heaven, just alongside Spanish fellow acts such as HITTEN, SAVAGED, WITCHTOWER or IRON CURTAIN. Following their 2018 debut EP “The Warning Session” and two singles – including their Underground hit “Fast, Heavy, Loud’N Proud” – which were all featured on the “The Gangland Tapes” CD in 2021, now, LÖANSHARK are gearing up for the release of their much-awaited, new studio album, entitled No Sins To Confess.
Everything about LÖANSHARK is old-school and like a flashback into the early 80s metal scene. “This is what we feel and what we are, so it’s kinda impossible for us to not sound old-school, because it is in our DNA”, describes bassist Aless. You can already see that spirit within their artwork, their logo or their look. ”For the cover artwork, we wanted that 80’s movie atmosphere, something eye catchy, dangerous, exciting and sexy! So we have choosen a smoky alley as the setting, long and sexy female legs, that hide a lethal weapon behind them, and there we are, about to die at the hands of this hitwoman who already has “another man in the trunk”. We want to maintain that “mafia” atmosphere in our work, we want it to be our identifying seal, in accordance with the name we chose for the band.”
No Sins To Confess will be featuring re-recorded, early tracks “Machine Gunner” and “Heavy Metal Addicts” as well as a cover version of NWOBHM cult band MARSEILLE and their track “Open Fire”. In the end you will get ten exciting tracks of a young band, that is obviously on fire. ”I think we managed to sound fresh within the genre”, summarises Aless. “Obviously we play traditional heavy metal and that aura is going to reach you when you hear it, but at the same time we try to ensure that no riff reminds you explicitly of any other song. Another virtue we have is, that we are what you hear on the album. We try not to be pretentious with the production and when you see us live you will get a very similar experience. People are usually surprised by our live sound, created by just three crazy people.“

Italian hardcore stalwarts RESCÜE CAT have released a brand new single, entitled “Flesh & Weapon”. The song is the title-track of the band’s upcoming debut EP, due out February 14th, 2025 via Time To Kill Records.
“Flesh & Weapon” is an intense and evocative exploration of resilience, pain, and the raw emotions that define human connections. The song reflects on unfulfilled potential, the weight of past experiences, and the struggle to reconcile with lost time and unspoken truths. Through visceral imagery and gripping metaphors, it delves into the duality of flesh as both a source of vulnerability and strength, and weaponry as a metaphor for survival. With haunting lyrics like “Burn at the stake, may your worst nightmare be your final resting place” the track delivers a powerful anthem of defiance and self-awareness, embodying the spirit of metallic hardcore.
Tracklist:
1. Enter the sewer trap 2. Who’s the killer? 3. Soft/quiet/cruel (ft. Jorelia) 4. End me, coward 5. Malice practice (ft. Norman Bates) 6. My own demise 7. Mother to no one (ft. Mayoulivetoburyme) 8. Flesh & weapon
Founded in Lombardy in early 2023 and now hailing from different parts of Italy, RESCÜE CAT is an energetic hardcore band bursting with attitude and… love! Starting off as friends in the local scene, they’re now ready to make their mark as one of the fresh faces of Italian hardcore. With performances at major events like Venezia Hardcore and Built to Blast already under their belts, they’ve developed a distinct style that mixes intense, emotional lyrics, tight compositions, and dreamy imagery.
In eight visceral tracks, the band pours out their passion for fast riffs and emotion-packed lyrics. “Flesh & Weapon” is a concept that dives into themes like shame and love, religious guilt, motherhood and girlhood, body horror, and trauma, all driven by furious blast beats and impassioned deliveries. Each track weaves a haunting narrative, blending dreamy imagery with raw, unfiltered anger. RESCÜE CAT aims to carve out a unique spot in the hardcore scene, offering anyone feeling isolated an unflinching look and a crutch to hang on.
