Rock guitar legend Billy Morrison is set to make waves with two electrifying releases featuring hip-hop’s most iconic voices. On December 13, 2024, Morrison released “Phenomenon”, his hard-hitting single and video collaboration with rap pioneers Cypress Hill, alongside the video release for “Just Like a Movie”, his explosive track from The Morrison Project—a bold fusion of rock and hip-hop that celebrates the power of legendary artistry, featuring the legendary rapper DMC of Run-DMC.
“Phenomenon” highlights Morrison’s longtime friendship and creative bond with Cypress Hill’s B-Real and Sen Dog. Recorded in Cypress Hill’s studio, the track blends Morrison’s signature guitar riffs with the unmistakable vocal power of the rap legends. The accompanying video takes it up a notch, featuring lasers, bouncing low riders, and the gritty West Coast energy that Cypress Hill is known for.
The video premiered on Metal Injection and can be seen here.
Billy Morrison shares, “Working with DMC & Cypress Hill has been a dream come true. They’re not just friends but legends who shaped hip-hop. Their energy made these songs unforgettable, breaking barriers with timeless music.”
“When I got the call from Billy I was excited about this collaboration! We’ve known each other for many years, shared many stages and we built up a friendship and chemistry throughout the years. So when the call came, I was in! It was killer being able to work on this project and we are stoked with how the track and the video came out,” says B-REAL of Cypress Hill.
Morrison’s video for “Just Like a Movie” vividly captures the essence of his collaboration with DMC, a hip-hop pioneer and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee. Filmed on the streets of Brooklyn, the video combines raw, cinematic visuals with a heartfelt tribute to hip-hop’s roots, perfectly reflecting Morrison’s genre-blurring vision. The track is featured on The Morrison Project album.
“Collaborating with Billy has been a very motivating experience. I’ve performed with him many times and he’s a great musician, musical director, and teacher. I was a little nervous when he asked me to be on a song for his new album”, says DMC.
“Phenomenon” and “Just Like a Movie” are available now on all major streaming platforms. Both tracks will be featured on a special double A-side vinyl release, set to drop in 2025.
The British guitarist, singer, and songwriter is primarily known as Billy Idol’s rhythm guitar player for the past 15 years alongside lead guitarist Steve Stevens. Hisrecent collaboration with Ozzy Osbourne and Steve Stevens, “Crack Cocaine,” soared to #1 on the Mediabase Active Rock Chart, further solidifying his place as a powerhouse in the rock world. The Morrison Project is a testament to his collaborative spirit and fearless commitment to creating boundary-breaking music that unites artists and genres in bold, unexpected ways.
THE MORRISON PROJECT was produced by Billy Morrison, mixed by Barry Pointer, and mastered by Dave Donnelly. The songs on the album were recorded in Los Angeles at various studios and were written by Billy Morrison in collaboration with his guests.
COFFINWOOD was formed in 2017 by Beherit (bass), Kumen (guitar) and Trommeslager (drums) in Warsaw, Poland. In 2018 joined forces with vocalist – Varulv. In April 2020 the first EP “Storm of Steel” was released, and is based on the novel of the same title by Ernst Junger. Since September 2022, the band has played live shows with the original lineup, where Beherit took over the vocal duties, supported by Kumen‘s backing vocals.
After 4 years of silence and hard working in rehearsal room, Warsovian band is ready to unleash their “the fruit” of that work which is debut studio album.
Musicians of the band comments their upcoming record as follows:
Kumen said: “The album is a kind of tribute to the tragic events surrounding the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster. The lyrics allude to the events before and after the reactor explosion, describing the chaos intertwined with the elusive melancholy and horror to which those who were thrown into the fight against the growing contamination were subjected.“
Beherit add: “The idea for the album’s theme was a natural follow-up to the direction we had taken earlier. Our lyrics focus on the deadly and destructive effects of suffering on the human psyche. In creating our first EP, we decided on a concept album formula; we wanted to address a topic often overlooked in pop culture, overshadowed by other, later events (World War I, for the record). It was no different when we were looking for inspiration while creating material for a full-length album. The theme of the Chernobyl power plant disaster fits perfectly here. Human suffering, depopulated villages, propaganda.“
Music was recorded, mixed and mastered by Paweł “Janos” Grabowski at JNS Studio (Antigama, Dormant Ordeal, Hate, Hostia, Riverside, Symbolical). Cover artwork was done by Mieszko Jankowski (Morrath, Night Lord).

Set to release their fourth full-length “Tempora Mutantur” this coming January 2025, progressive collective LUNAR is sharing their second single “Weakening Winter Touch” accompanied by a lyric video to preview what’s to come. The song deals with feelings of weakness and powerlessness in our circumstances. Often asking “Why?” or “What did I do to deserve this?” Musically it’s a powerful song, heavy on the synths with a catchy and powerful chorus.
Drummer and band founder Alex Bosson comments:
“I felt this song was appropriate to release in the middle of December. I know many people deal with a lot of depression, and other negative aspects of life around this time of year. This song is about the feelings of weakness and confusion we feel during those times and I hope it will help some that may be currently going through it.”
The lyric video for “Weakening Winter Touch” can be seen and heard via its premiere on TheProgSpace HERE.

Founded by drummer Alex Bosson(Helion Prime, Planeswalker) and Ryan Erwin who passed in 2018, LUNAR continues in his memory. This fourth full-length “Tempora Mutantur” follows 2023’s “The Illusionist” and features a fresh lineup with the addition of guitarists Carlos Alvarez and Connor McCray (Vis Mystica) along with keyboardist Anthony Stahl plus album guests Wayne Ingram (Wildrun), Joe Gullace (Thank You Scientist) and Sam Vallen (Caligula’s Horse).
A collaboration of musical minds, and with anything LUNAR does; “Tempora Mutantur” is an emotional thematic listening experience with ups and downs musically and lyrically dealing with the passing of time and the effects it has on us physically and mentally.
“This album deals with something everyone can relate to and no one can escape: the passing of time. We get older, our perspective changes, and we gain some things, and lose others… sometimes the things and ones we love. And we struggle and fight along the way. This album deals with some of the highs and lows we deal with along this journey we all share. Hopefully, the fans will be able to resonate with it and find some solace and aid in their own experiences of time passing. I believe the songwriting has gotten stronger over the years. I think the songs are a bit more well-structured. But I think the overall sound of the band has remained pretty consistent over the years. The music is very “prog,” so it’s been diverse I think from day 1. Probably even more so now than it was at first.” adds Bosson.
Recommended for fans of Opeth, Caligula’s Horse, Haken, Tool, and Porcupine Tree, LUNAR’s“Tempora Mutantur” is due out January 31, 2025, from Saibot Reigns Records.
A studio project since first conceived in 2014, LUNAR will make its live debut next year at the 2025Hyperspace Metal Festivalin Vancouver, BC, Canada on April 11th. Info here.
Italian death metal force ACROSS THES WARM will release their new album “Invisible Threads” on February 21st 2025 through Time To Kill Records. This new record follows their acclaimed 2020 album “Projections” and marks a powerful return that delves deeper into the raw, unfiltered aggression that has earned the band a dedicated following in the Italian metal scene.
Today, the band shares the first single from the album. Watch the video of “Nothing Left” at THIS LOCATION.
The band commented:
“‘Nothing Left’ is a fierce cry against the brutality of war, a visceral outpouring of rage and torment in the face of devastation, crimes against humanity, and relentless atrocities. It is a definitive rejection of indifference and passive acceptance of inhumanity, because what seems distant today is closer than we can imagine. The song lays bare the fragility of existence in the face of conflicts that leave no escape, consuming dreams, lives, and hopes. ‘Nothing Left’ is an invitation to stare horror in the eyes, to not look away, and to acknowledge that no one is truly safe. Who’s next?”.
Tracklist:
01 – Intravenous 02 – Vertebrae 03 – Every Day Is Like A Stab In The Chest 04 – Nothing Left 05 – Red Waters 06 – Scava Veloce 07 – Dry Eyes 08 – Liquefy 09 – Until You Bleed 10 – Invisible Threads
“Invisible Threads” is a sonic assault that penetrates the darkest depths of existence. This album explores themes of human degradation, unspoken fears, and wars that ravage not only bodies but also minds. A fierce manifestation of death metal, “Invisible Threads” overwhelms the listener with a crescendo of sonic brutality and raw emotions—an unrelenting frontal impact from the first to the last track, destined to leave a lasting mark.
“We wanted to capture the essence of the shadows that dwell within each of us,” explains frontman Francesco. “The composition of ‘Invisible Thread’s was a brutal and visceral process. Every note, every word is an invisible thread connecting these shadows to the reality around us. Additionally, renowned Italian street artist SNEM was fully involved in the creative process, visually translating the album’s concept into artwork that amplifies and reflects both the music and the lyrics. This album is an invitation to confront your innermost self and dive deep, all the way to the bottom”.

Active rock powerhouse OVTLIER has unveiled a live studio video for their hard-hitting single, “Warriors”. Stripping away the layers of studio polish, the band offers fans an authentic and raw rendition of the song, highlighting the integrity of their artistry.
Filmed at the iconic House of Guitars in Rochester, NY, the video pays homage to a legendary venue known for its deep roots in music culture. The band extends heartfelt gratitude to Bruce, Armand, Kurt, and the entire staff for their hospitality and support in bringing this project to life.
Frontman Joey Arena explains the inspiration behind the project:
“Stripped and raw. Live and unprocessed. We live in a time where music can be overproduced to mask a song’s integrity or an artist’s ability. We enjoy our bells and whistles as well, but prefer to use them as tools and not crutches. We have decided to peel back the layers and record an intimate live-studio version of ‘Warriors.’”
Arena reflects on the creative process, sharing how it challenged his perspective and reignited his passion for authenticity: “When we were in the final stage of mixing, it took my ears a moment to readjust and not overly nitpick the imperfections but rather find the beauty in the imperfection. The process re-sparked my love for its authenticity. I truly cannot wait for people to wrap their eyes and ears around this one!”
The video was filmed by Tyler White, engineered by Justin Passamonte, and mixed and mastered by Steve Sopchak, ensuring the final product captures the raw emotion and dynamic energy that have become hallmarks of Ovtlier’s sound.
This track features Chris Motionless and was written by the band’s lead vocalist and founder, Joey Arena, Justin DeBlieck (Ice Nine Kills, Motionless In White), Alecia “Mixi” Demnar (Stitched Up Heart) and Joel DeMartino. It was produced by Justin DeBlieck as well, while joining its predecessor as the second single mixed by Chris Dawson (SAUL, Any Given Sin) and mastered by Mike Kalajian (Bad Omens, The Plot In You). Due to the relationship between Chris Motionless and Joey, it was only a matter of time before the collaboration went into effect. With Ovtlier’s dedication, nose to the grind work ethic and a star-studded team of support behind them, the success of “Warriors” as the band’s most-accomplished single is inevitable!

“’Warriors’ is a song that’s just built different. It encompasses all of who and what Ovtlier is. Add a powerhouse like Chris to the mix and you have something extra special. I could not be more excited to collaborate with someone with such talent but even more, a friend!” says Joey Arena, the band’s vocalist.
Chris Motionless adds, “I’ve been following Ovtlier for a while now and I see how bad they want it, and what they are willing to do to get it. It’s tough to find that kind of dedication these days, so I wanted to do my part in helping an up and coming band get some more eyes and ears on them. I love the song and it’s blend of genres I grew up loving, so it was an easy call to sing on Warriors.”
Honing in on a modern sound while consistently setting themselves apart from the mainstream, Ovtlier (pronounced “Outlier”) prides themselves in creating exemplary rock and metal music backed by a rapidly growing fanbase. Ovtlier has earned over 8 million on demand streams across DSP platforms as well as more than 6 million views of user generated content on YouTube alone. In addition to their loyal fan base, the band has caught attention through achieving features in major media outlets such as Revolver, Loudwire, Alternative Press, Decibel and ABC News.
Continually hitting the Billboard charts, Ovtlier has been able to spread their sound nationwide through constant spins on FM radio and months of regular rotation on SiriusXM Octane– launching them into the forefront of their genre. Ovtlier has had 6 singles featured on SiriusXM Octane; “Who We Are”, “Buried Me Alive”, “Blame The Dead”, “Living Dead”, “Heartless” and their latest, “Dead Man Running”, winning the hearts of satellite radio listeners across the country and emphasizes the bands ability to stay creative while maintaining an ever-growing fanbase.
