New Music on the Horizon?
KoRn are already working on new music, as guitarist Brian “Head” Welch recently confirmed. The band’s last studio album, Requiem, was released in 2022, which feels like a while ago. Whether new singles or even a full album will drop before the 2025 concerts remains to be seen. Fans might just get a first taste of what’s to come during these headliner shows.

After a long break, Dimmu Borgir are finally back in the studio! The Norwegian symphonic black metal legends are hard at work on their first studio album since ‘Eonian’ (2018). However, they haven’t been idle in the meantime: with the live album‘Northern Forces Over Wacken’ and the 30th-anniversary album ‘Inspiratio Profanus’, they’ve released some impressive work.
The upcoming album will also mark a significant change: It will be the first studio album since Spiritual Black Dimensions (1999) without guitarist Galder. Earlier this year, Galder left the band to focus on his solo project Old Man’s Child.
Guitarist and vocalist Silenoz shared some insights into the band’s creative process during an interview with Rauta earlier this year:
“We’ve been working on new material. We’ve been at it for quite some time, with interruptions here and there. During the pandemic, we took a bit of a break and worked on the songs individually, as lone wolves, so to speak. Then we got together and started brewing a new concoction.”
Silenoz emphasized that the band places great importance on quality and takes their time to meet fans’ expectations:
“I think fans are saying, ‘Oh, you need to release a new album’ and blah blah blah. But the thing is, we’d rather take our time, even take an extra year, to make sure it’s better than just good, if you know what I mean. We want to release an album when it’s truly ready.”
He ended on a positive note, expressing his hopes for the future:
“We hope to be more active and to share more new music with our fans – both long-time followers and new ones. But yeah, good things take time. And I think it’s safe to say the longer people wait, the better the result will be.”
Fans can look forward to what Dimmu Borgir will deliver this time, both musically and conceptually. One thing is certain: it will be dark, epic, and unmistakably Dimmu Borgir!
Legendary American progressive metallers SAVATAGE are thrilled to announce their first headline shows since 2002.
Singer Zak Stevens explains: “As you can imagine, there are so many special things about these shows that are racing through my mind. We get to play a series of headline shows for the first time in over twenty years that will put us right back in front of all of the unbelievable fans who have given us so many unforgettable memories over the last three decades. Here’s our chance to directly give back to everyone who’s been there supporting us all these years!”

Savatage has cultivated a passionate cult following with over twenty years of musical excellence, eleven groundbreaking albums, and hundreds of performances around the globe. Their unique blend of thrash, progressive, power metal, and classic hard rock has left an indelible mark on the music world. Founded in Tampa, Florida, by brothers Jon and Criss Oliva, Savatage’s journey has been a mix of triumph and tragedy. Albums like the seminal 1987 release Hall of the Mountain King and the critically acclaimed 1991 rock opera Streets continue to resonate with fans today. The untimely death of Criss Oliva after the success of 1993’s Edge of Thorns marked a turning point for the band, but they rebounded with a newfound identity, culminating in their 1995 album Dead Winter Dead. Their electrifying reunion performance at the 2015 Wacken Open Air in Germany, where they captivated an audience of 80,000, reaffirmed Savatage’s enduring legacy and their powerful connection with fans.
German tech-death titans Burn Down Eden have released their new EP, Epiphany, via Seek & Strike. A ferocious, high-octane assault, Epiphany is a colossal beast brimming with razor-sharp riffs, intricate rhythms, and unyielding intensity. From the chaotic opening to the final, earth-shattering note, the EP showcases the band’s relentless evolution, with tracks such as ‘Epistrophy‘, follow up, ‘Fake News For Breakfast‘, ‘Tears Of Persephone‘ and most recent, ‘Burn Down Eden‘, each pushing the boundaries of technicality and brutality to new extremes. With Epiphany Burn Down Eden cement their place at the forefront of the genre, delivering an exhilarating mix of precision and pulverising power that demands to be heard.
The band have also revealed a new video for their track ‘Suckbox’. More than just a song, ‘Suckbox’ is a powerful declaration of the band’s dominance in the realm of extreme metal, and this video serves as the perfect visual counterpart, bringing chaos to life with visceral intensity and raw power.
Known for their explosive fusion of brutality, melodic harmony, technical prowess, and lyrical depth, Burn Down Eden‘s music serves as a stark mirror, reflecting the darker aspects of humanity and challenging listeners to confront the uncomfortable truths we create.
Burn Down Eden state: “The lyrics to ‘Suckbox’ were written to a time, when there were allegations made public against Till Lindemann (Rammstein) about sexual assault. It’s a very serious topic that we wanted to bring to light, since the exploitation of women in the rock and metal world is a well known secret that comes to light occasionally. And it goes far beyond our beloved scene. Athletes, politicians and actors. People with money and power tend to have a weird perspective on how they can treat people and women in particular. This was something we wanted to talk about. And of course we did it the Burn Down Eden way, telling the story from the perspective of a rock star and how we picture those situations to happen. How the managers are instructed to find new girls on each show and the power of fame is used to treat them like sh*t. “…close your eyes, open your mouth and do the f*cking deed” is a very strong line to describe this use of power figuratively.
“So how can you supplement this topic with a video you may ask yourself? We couldn’t translate the lyrics just into pictures, that’s for sure. So we came up with the idea to jump into different characters that are either convicted offenders or had/have serious allegations against them. And not just rock stars but politicians, too. During the first half of the song, we kinda introduce those characters and picture them in the most cocky way we think they might act in real life, with girls dancing around them as well. When we build up to the solo part, we also start the plot twist in the video. The girls start to fight back and take over the instruments playing the rest of the song. We are very happy with the outcome and think it’s a great statement.”
Burn Down Eden‘s latest release is not just a powerful follow-up to their April 2024 EP Dismal, it’s a major milestone for the band. With the release of a music video for every track across both Dismal and today’s Epiphany EP release, the band have now unleashed a total of ten videos, each one bringing a unique visual dimension to their unrelenting sound. Together, these tracks form a cohesive, full-length experience, set to drop on 31st January, 2025. To commemorate this epic moment, the band will release the full package in physical form, including two limited edition vinyl versions, CDs, and exclusive new merch. Pre-orders are open now, and can be found here: https://www.impericon.com/de/collections/burn-down-eden. This is the culmination of a year’s worth of intense creativity, and it’s just the beginning.
Italian black-thrash metal agitators NECRODEATH have released the new single “Arimortis”. This is the title track and second single from their highly anticipated final album, “Arimortis”, due out January 17th 2025 via Time To Kill Records.
The band commented:
“The title track ‘Arimortis’ is a song that speaks of the end of war, when survivors take the time to bury their fallen and honor them by raising the altars of death. Metaphorically, we wanted to compare our forty-year musical career to a long battle from which we emerge with our heads held high, without any regrets. The song is dedicated to everyone who has contributed to making Necrodeath what it is today, for better or for worse. This will be our testament, left to the new generations, in the hope that they can continue to make music in a world without wars”.
As previously stated, NECRODEATH have announced their intention to disband after one last album and a farewell tour in 2025.
The album will be the last recorded testimony before the definitive dissolution of the band. The release will be followed by a farewell tour, which will last throughout 2025. After which the curtain will fall.
Frontman Flegias commented: “’Arimortis’ is a term of Latin origin which indicates the end of a war, the moment in which the fallen are honoured and altars are erected in their name (‘arae mortis’, the altars of death). Even today in some parts of Italy the term ‘arimo’ is used to declare the end of the games. We wanted to use this allegory to seal a path that lasted forty years, full of satisfactions, disappointments and revenge. The songs that make up the album contain several references to our long career”.
Tracklist:
01. Storytellers of Lies 02. New God 03. Necrosadist 04. Arimortis 05. Near-Death Experience 06. Alien 07. No More Regrets 08. μετεμψύχωσις (Part two) 09. Hangover
The moment you hear it, you know it’s NECRODEATH. Formed back in 1984, the Italian act is one of the real iconic black-thrash metal bands. With a career of 40 years, the band has helped to shape the Italian metal scene and the international underground as it is today. In 1985 NECRODEATH released a cult-demo tape titled “The Shining Pentagram” and obtained an incredible success in the underground. The demo is still considered a real gem in the thrash and black metal history. Tons of tributes in major magazines, fanzines and other underground outlets highlighted the release of the first two legendary albums “Into The Macabre” (1987) and “Fragments Of Insanity” (1989). New records and international and national tours followed one another non-stop until 2020. Like many other acts, the band was forced to interrupt a workaholic path in the underground metal scene. During that period the band reached out to Time to Kill Records for the release of the last two albums, starting with “Singin’ in the Pain” in 2023. One final record will kick off a farewell tour which will conclude at the end of 2025.
