Dragonknight have released a lyric-video for “The Imperator”, first single taken from the debut album “Legions” to be released on January 17th by Scarlet Records. PRE-SAVE/PRE-ORDER
“The Imperator” is a depiction of brothers and sisters waiting for their commander to once again rally the unbending, undefeated and unstoppable Legion to strike down the enemy with the force of a thousand storms. The horns blaring for the supreme champion, the whispering strings and woodwinds carrying the tales told in the warmth of the campfires… All this condensed into a hard-hitting heavy metal song with a powerful groove and an ear-worm of a chorus makes it a solid introduction to the music of Dragonknight.

Get ready to immerse yourself in the enchanting and darkly poetic universe of Lamashtu! The female-fronted symphonic metal act is thrilled to present the lyric video for “Små Steg,” (Swedish for “Small Steps”), a fascinating chapter in their saga Längtan, which delves deeper into the intertwined destinies of Eli and Joar.
“Små Steg” invites listeners on an emotionally charged journey, artfully weaving themes of love, betrayal, identity, and mortality into a hauntingly reflective landscape.
Längtan showcases the evolution of Lamashtu, enhancing their symphonic foundation with progressive elements. It continues the haunting saga of Joar and Eli, which begins in ancient Mesopotamia. As Eli encounters strange creatures, she embarks on a transformative journey alongside demons and Joar. This narrative aligns with Lamashtu’s dark themes, centered on the demon goddess Lamashtu—patroness of the malformed and the wicked. The story of Eli, connecting both Tro and Längtan, has been further developed in a Swedish fantasy novel, Eli, available in over 50 libraries across Sweden and the first of a planned trilogy.

Just in time for the release of their epic upcoming nine-track EP, Universal Tales, German symphonic metal icons XANDRIA unleash the Celtic-inspired track “200 Years” together with a cinematic official music video. The new EP, Universal Tales, drops today Friday, November 22, 2024 via Napalm Records!
On “200 Years”, XANDRIA fully embraces their Celtic roots like never before and explores the realms of the well-known book and TV series Outlander. Accented by renowned violinist Ally Storch (Subway To Sally), mesmerizing violin merges with resolute drums and with the blockbuster-like atmosphere, immediately transporting fans to distant realms, fighting for a free and fair world. “200 Years” is now available on all streaming services worldwide.
This EP follows the success of their latest top 10 charting album (German charts), The Wonders Still Awaiting (2023), which introduced an impressive new line up featuring the fantastic Ambre Vourvahis, who stuns audiences with her vocal talent that blends elements of rock grit, operatic highs and even growls.
XANDRIA on the new single “200 Years”: “We hope you enjoy our new song and video! It’s inspired by our deep love for Scotland and its rich history. The many stories of this land have sunk deep into our collective consciousness, becoming the roots of the fantasy worlds we all share – worlds filled with epic tales, like those of Middle-earth and beyond. Stories of people fighting for freedom, love, and the survival of their culture. This one’s for you. Slàinte mhath!”
Each of the songs highlight a different facet of XANDRIA’s musical range, alongside a new recording and beautifully re-arranged version of the title track from their recent album, The Wonders Still Awaiting. From bombastic film score atmospheres, choir-and-orchestra-driven anthems to real Celtic atmospheres and instruments like fiddle and whistles, the songs blend both classic and modern metal influences. Universal Tales offers a wealth of discoveries, while singer Ambre Vourhavis explores new heights and depths in her voice, making her even stronger than on the last album.
The former standalone single “Universal”, alongside an official music video, is a statement in support of a free, open, and diverse society, standing against authoritarianism and religious fundamentalism. It is dedicated to Jina Mahsa Amini and all those fighting for freedom. “Live the Tale” focuses on the apparent loss of reason in the world, showcasing that despite dark clouds, humankind could head in a positive direction as there is so much yet undiscovered and so much potential in mankind to live the tale of its imagination. The Universal Tales EP concludes with orchestral versions of the four new. While Marco Heubaum once again oversaw the recordings as the producer, Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Arch Enemy, Evergrey) handled the mixing and mastering.
XANDRIA on the new EP: “This EP is a big ‘Thank you!!’ to all our fans who welcomed us back in such an amazing and heartwarming way last year. The energy and connection we felt during our live shows with you inspired us to quickly write new songs, and we couldn’t wait to share them with you.
Each of the new songs shows a different side of us, so there’s a lot to discover on this EP – and we can’t wait to play these new songs live for you! We’ll see you all at our shows in Europe this November and in North America next March!”

From The Vaults is proud to announce the third and final single from STEEL INFERNO’s upcoming speed metal insanity “Rush of Power”. The new song is titled “Electrocuter” and will be out as a digital single and official video.
Death is in the air, strapped to the electric chair! Now come and flip the switch because it is time for ELECTRICAL DEATH.
Join the premiering below:
Steel Inferno has been, slowly but surely, cementing their name in the European speed metal scene in the last decade. Since the band’s formation in 2012, the quintet released three studio albums, each one stepping a bit forward in terms of popularity and intensity: “Aesthetics of Decay” in 2016, “…And the Earth Stood Still” in 2020 and “Evil Reign” In 2022.
The latter, which was Steel Inferno’s debut at From The Vaults, took the band in a slightly different direction. If the Steel Inferno’s early material was akin to European metal like early Accept and Judas Priest, the material in that record was closer to some of the earliest US power metal bands such as Helstar and Jag Panzer – all mixed with a fundamental inspiration from early thrash and speed metal.
With this new-found approach, the band toured like crazy to support “Evil Reign”, until the time came to record new songs again. Angioni Studios was booked, speed riffs, solos were recorded, thunderous rhythms were taped and raging vocal takes were taped. The result is Steel Inferno’s new album, titled “Rush Of Power”. A thunderous monster of a record, which will hit you like a hurricane, adrenaline-pumping and will leaving craving for the next speed metal fix. “Rush Of Power” adds more speed, as well as complexity, to the Steel Inferno arsenal, while retaining a sense of creating good melodies.
Are you ready for “Rush Of Power”?
“Rush Of Power” will be released on CD, LP (black and white vinyl versions available, each limited to 200 copies, plus red vinyl exclusive to Mephisto shop, limited to 100 copies) and digital on November 29th, 2024 via From The Vaults.
Lineup: Thierry Zubritovsky – bass Krzysztof Baran – drums Lars Lyndorff Krelskov – guitars Jens Andersen – guitars Chris Rostoff – vocals
Ten days ahead of its official release, PESTILENT HEX join forces with Black Metal Promotion YouTube channel to unveil a full stream of their magnificent second opus. “Sorceries of Sanguine & Shadow” builds upon the mystical narrative of their debut and takes the Finnish symphonic Black Metal duo into uncharted sonic realms.
Immerse yourself in the seven epic tracks below:
Band-members L. Oathe and M. Malignant provide a glimpse into the creation of “Sorceries of Sanguine & Shadow“:
L. Oathe: ““The Ashen Abhorrence” was something we worked on for a long, long time to get it right. This new album, however, started to build up very fast and we got to a point where we had way more material than would fit properly on the new album. So, writing music itself was effortless but the last part – figuring out what kind of album we really wanted to do using these building blocks was way harder. Cutting many very good songs is always painful, but what will make us be at peace with this though is that those songs will be included on the next, third album anyway. It’s just a matter of finding the right combination of things and I never think of having better or worse songs – just different from each other.“
M. Malignant: “The uniting line in the lyrics is summarized in the album title – “Sorceries of Sanguine & Shadow“. The first album was purely a concept album with a storyline through every song lyric, whereas the second album is not that strict and here the themes are more prevalent and underlying. I have a tendency of explaining my lyrics too much, but I don’t think this does me any favors. So, let’s leave it for each listener to do the work and draw their own interpretations. A strong recommendation is to get the physical album, as the booklet has frames drawn for each song that extend the visual imagery the lyrics convey.“
“Sorceries of Sanguine & Shadow” will be released on CD, vinyl – including an exclusive DMP vinyl edition and specially designed merch – and digital on November 29th. Pre-orders are available via the label’s EU, US, and Bandcamp shops, with bundle options available.
PESTILENT HEX – a curse that claimed our souls and plagued our dreams; a sound that still haunts and possesses us…
PESTILENT HEX is a new band hailing from Finland that drinks deep from the well of the second wave Black Metal tradition – balancing a fine line of symphonic elements but still being firmly rooted in Metal, nevertheless retaining high integrity and artistry.
The band consists of two people, perhaps more well-known from the Death and Doom Metal circles, yet Black Metal is something that has flowed in their veins since the mid-nineties and it constitutes a praxis they grew up with.
The idea of this band was born out of the necessity to pay dues to the genre that formed the musicians and their musical sensibilities. But more importantly, from the ambition to craft a vision of their own what this Art should sound like.
“The Ashen Abhorrence” is the band’s first release. It took them five years of arduous labor and maddening inspiration to complete it. It is a concept album musically and lyrically, that dwells into Faustian aspirations, witchcraft, possession, and the realm beyond – ending in harrowing results.
Building upon the symphonic Black Metal stylings of their masterful 2022 debut “The Ashen Abhorrence“, enigmatic Finnish duo PESTILENT HEX return with second opus, “Sorceries of Sanguine & Shadow“, to herald a new era of malevolent grandeur and melodic aggression, in 2024.
BraveWords Records is excited to share with all the Rhett Forrester fans this amazing footage of Rhett performing live in Red Deer, Canada 1992. This is some of the very last footage of Rhett performing live.
Rob Robbins talking about Live in Red Deer 1992, “Of the few live shows we did, this was the only one caught on video for a whole set. We were starting to get tight as a unit by this point. I wish the audio could have been better. This is as raw as you can get. This is some of the last live footage of Rhett in existence. Even with a smaller crowd Rhett treated it like we were playing to a packed arena. I regret not recording more of our shows. There have been copies on YouTube but this is from my original tapes. Hope you enjoy the show.”
