Nastiriff is making their mark on rock ‘n roll with the release of their debut EP, Malus—a five-track surge of raw energy, sharp commentary, and an unapologetic attitude. Dropping alongside the EP is their latest single Conservative, a track that takes a direct jab at the self-righteous and the perpetually offended, complete with a bold new music video.
“Malus stems from deep, rotten roots. A collection of thoughts and experiences funneled into a comedically combative rock ‘n roll package, placing offense right in the face of where it belongs,” says the band.
The EP title, derived from the Latin word for “nasty,” is no coincidence. “The word ‘MAL’ is the foundation of many words across multiple languages, all carrying a bad or evil connotation—malfunction, malice, malevolent,” the band explains. “It resonates with Nastiriff because it opposes the high-and-mighty. And it does so intentionally.”
Each track on Malus cuts deep into societal contradictions. Suck It flips confidence against the overconfident, Bang rages at the angry, Conservative morally corrects the morally correct, Bed By Seven serves as a wake-up call to those stuck in cycles, and Vintage Calculators is a love song for the unlovable. “By trying to stand out, we all end up being the same,” Nastiriff declares. “This EP will hopefully make it clear that there is absolutely nothing special about us—or you. Importance is irrelevant, and the world would be a far better place if we could all behave like it.”
The band credits Ruan and the team at Sonic Nursery for helping them bring their vision to life. “They’re so detail-oriented and really locked into our energy and what we were after. Music is more than just audio and visuals—it’s about capturing feeling and emotion,” says Nastiriff. “When performing the music, you have to live that feeling at its fullest.”
The recording process reflected this ethos. Drums were isolated in a separate room while the rest of the band played together, ensuring that shared energy remained intact. “In the tracks, you can hear we were locked in. We ran each song five times before cleaning up by ‘punching in’ to redo small parts. Vocals took two days before being mixed and mastered.”
The new single Conservative is a fearless, satirical attack on the stubbornly self-righteous. “It’s a bit of a stab at the ou Afrikaanse oom in his kort broekie, with his sunburnt skin and opinions,” says the vocalist, Gavin Wilmers. “I grew up around these types of folks. They always know everything and are offended by absolutely everything that moves.”
The song zeroes in on the hypocrisy of extreme modesty, where some traditional Afrikaans couples spend years together without ever seeing each other naked, yet a mere glimpse of skin is instantly oversexualized. “These are the types of people that qualify for a tongue-lashing from Nastiriff. I’ll probably get bliksemed at some point, but someone needs to give ‘em the hell they inflict on women in particular.”
The accompanying music video presents a clash of stability and chaos. Set against tranquil environments with calm skies and neutral movements, Nastiriff’s performance disrupts the serenity—serving as the catalyst of instability in a stable world. “It’s almost like when someone says, ‘Come! You know where I live!’ And then you show up,” the band exclaims.
With a confrontational yet body-positive message, Conservative challenges outdated ideologies and dares listeners to reconsider their perspectives. Nastiriff isn’t just making music; they’re making a statement.
Finnish 6x Platinum and 8x Gold-certified, record-breaking rock outfit THE RASMUS are back with their electrifying new single, “Creatures of Chaos,” released today (March 28) on all digital outlets via Better Noise Music and Playground Music. With their signature blend of dark atmospheres and anthemic melodies, the band once again proves why they remain a force to be reckoned with in the rock world. In their native Finland, where they are the reigning #1 rock band, The Rasmus stands at #1 on Spotify, YouTube, Instagram and Deezer as far as followers, views, likes and streams.
The video for “Creatures of Chaos” can be seen on the band’s official YouTube page HERE.
At its core, “Creatures of Chaos” is an anthem for outsiders, a rallying cry for anyone who has ever felt like they don’t belong. “‘Creatures of Chaos’ is a global invitation to all misfits and anyone out there who’s ever felt like an outsider to join us!” exclaims frontman Lauri Ylönen. “The world is such a messed up place right now. I felt like going harder musically to match my feelings of being lost, scared and uncomfortable. People are so divided with their opinions that I find myself looking for hope and unity out of people like myself. It’s important to belong somewhere and take a stand with your opinions. ‘Creatures of Chaos’ is a shout-out to all people like us to come together.”
The song was written by Lauri together with Desmond Child and Marti Fredriksen, Child having worked together with the band on the previous albums Black Roses and Rise. Creatures of Chaos was tracked at Fredriksen’s Sienna Studios in Nashville. Joseph McQueen did some additional production and mixed and mastered the track at Sparrow Sound in Los Angeles.
Packed with driving riffs, anthemic hooks, and raw emotion, the song channels the spirit of rebellion and unity that has always been at the heart of The Rasmus’ music. The song was written by Lauri along with renowned songwriter Desmond Child (who contributed to the band’s BLACK ROSES and RISE albums and has worked with Bon Jovi, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, among with countless others), and Marti Fredriksen (Aerosmith). Tracked at Fredriksen’s Sienna Studios in Nashville and produced by Marti Frederiksen and Desmond Child, with additional production by Joseph McQueen, it captures the band at their most dynamic and urgent.
“Creatures of Chaos” is the follow-up to “Rest In Pieces,” which was released October 25, 2024 via Better Noise Music along with a lyric video that can be seen HERE (which currently has over 478k views). Fans can listen to it via their preferred streaming platform HERE.
With their signature blend of dark atmospheres and anthemic melodies, the band once again proves why they remain an aesthetic force to be reckoned with in the rock world. The Rasmus have also generated an impressive 829 million global career streams.

NOTHING MORE is one of rock’s most electrifying bands. They blend a full-on assault with soaring melodies and unique soundscapes in songs that unflinchingly embrace raw emotion. The boundary-pushing 3x-Grammy-nominated outfit—Jonny Hawkins (vocals), Mark Vollelunga (guitar), Daniel Oliver (bass), and Ben Anderson (drums)—today (March 28) have released the deluxe edition of their acclaimed 2024 album CARNAL across all digital outlets via Better Noise Music. Pre-orders for the physical release on CD and vinyl—due out May 16—are now available HERE.
CARNAL (DELUXE) adds on five bonus tracks, including a new version of the bracing “FREEFALL,” featuring 6x Platinum-certified rock artist Chris Daughtry, available now on all digital outlets. The “FREEFALL” video movingly tells the story about a firefighter who is struggling with his mental health and unexpectedly finds a new life-direction after making a chance connection with a homeless dog. Watch it on Better Noise Music’s official YouTube page. NOTHING MORE teamed up again with director Stephen Wayne Mallet (who did the same honors for the band’s “Fade In, Fade Out” video, from 2017’s THE STORIES WE TELL OURSELVES album, which has over 10M views).
“We wrote an anthem for the people who find themselves in an uncertain and chaotic phase of their life,” explains singer Jonny Hawkins about “FREEFALL.” “Every single one of us have had, or will have, experiences where it feels like the rug is pulled from under us… an end to a relationship, a job loss, or the death of a close family member. These times can be filled with anxiety, or they can be filled with spiritual euphoria as we accept our transformation. We’ve always believed that our losses are invitations to ascend to a higher level of reality…and this song is our way of encapsulating that realization. Chris Daughtry elevated that feeling with his soaring and pristine vocals. We are so honored to have him on one of the best songs we’ve ever written.”
The video—filmed in Clifton, Tennessee—features the town’s fire chief and sheriff, who also served as technical advisors on the subject matter. In casting for this narrative-driven video, the band prioritized collaborating with individuals who understand the unique challenges faced by firefighters and first responders. To ensure even more authenticity, they enlisted real-life heroes as technical advisors. Additionally, director/actor Michael Lombardi was asked by the band to star in the video because of his personal experience and affiliation with firefighters. Lombardi is well-known for his role as a series regular in the acclaimed FX series “Rescue Me,” which aired for 100 episodes and received multiple Golden Globe and Emmy nominations and wins and delved into the lives of firefighters grappling with real-life issues, including the aftermath of 9/11 trauma and personal struggles.
K9s For Warriors is the nation’s leading provider of highly trained Service Dogs for Veterans with invisible wounds of war. As a part of its mission, K9s’ Station Dog program partners with law enforcement and first responder agencies to provide reliable, high quality therapy dogs that offer emotional support to officers, firefighters, dispatchers, victims, and others exposed to trauma in the line of duty. Every day in the U.S., approximately 20 Veterans take their own lives, while more than 1,000 dogs are euthanized. Determined to end Veteran suicide, K9s For Warriors provides highly-trained Service Dogs—many of them rescues—to military Veterans suffering from PTSD or traumatic brain injury at no financial cost to the Veteran. Since 2011, K9s For Warriors has graduated more than 1,000 Warriors and rescued more than 2,000 dogs.
“Nothing More have always wanted our music and lyrics to be a shelter for those in need,” says guitarist Mark Vollelunga. “With ‘FREEFALL,’ we want to let people know they are not alone when it feels like everything is collapsing around you. So we did something really special; we teamed up with K9s For Warriors to bring more awareness to those that struggle with PTSD and mental health trauma. It’s their mission to train service dogs and pair them up with veterans and therapy dogs for first responders in need. We fully believe in the power these animals have to help create peace and bring about healthy changes in their companions. I recently met my county constable, Kathryn Brown, who was given a therapy dog from K9s For Warriors and she shared with me just how much Biggie, makes her station and life unbelievably better. So let’s get more of these service dogs and therapy dogs trained and paired up with veterans and first responders in need! I personally know that by rescuing animals, my family and life has been enriched tenfold. And I would say that even though we might think we’re the ones doing the rescuing… they are actually rescuing us.”
“We are incredibly grateful to NOTHING MORE for their support of our organization, especially our dedication to helping first responders,” said K9s For Warriors Chief Revenue Officer Lindsay Grayson. “K9s For Warriors has the privilege every day to see the impact a Station Dog has on those who put their lives on the line to keep our communities safe. NOTHING MORE’s generosity allows us to continue changing Veteran and first responder lives.”
In connection with the song and video release, the band will be featuring pet-related merchandise on its official website, with a portion of proceeds supporting organizations like K9s For Warriors. Additionally, a donation link will be included in the video, allowing for donations to be made directly to the organization’s website.
CARNAL has seen the band achieve two #1 Active Rock radio singles—“ANGEL SONG (feat. David Draiman)” and “IF IT DOESN’T HURT”—and has to date amassed 100 million streams. The album received praise for being “one of the band’s most eclectic releases to date” (Blabbermouth) and having 15 “energized rock anthems that capture the band’s infectious live prowess” (Knotfest).
Four other bonus tracks on CARNAL (DELUXE) include a live version of the “ANGEL SONG” recorded from the band’s set at Aftershock Festival 2024 where NOTHING MORE was joined onstage by guest vocalist David Draiman of Disturbed; two remixed songs from Matt Good (Hollywood Undead, Asking Alexandria) and Justin “JD” Deblieck (Ice Nine Kills, Motionless In White); plus a new song that was released February 7, “WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE.” Fans can view the lyric video for “WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE” HERE and stream/download the song HERE.

Swedish thrash and melodic death metal band VILT strives to take the Scandinavian sound to new heights. Through aggressive riffs, fast drums, and intense vocal performances they have already established a unique signature style. Following the success of their two-track single Adversary in 2022, which led to a performance at In Flames’ Dalhalla Brinner festival, VILT released the EP …To Mourn The Death Of A Stranger in 2024.
New single “Enslaved” is an intense and powerful track that calls out society’s lack of humility – a reminder that we’d all be better off if we dropped our egos before it’s too late. With its uncompromising sound and raw message, the track is an essential part of VILT’s broader vision for the upcoming album.
The album is a raw and relentless letter to a fractured past. Between guttural aggression and haunting melodies, the album is a battle cry to the younger self—a figure clinging to borrowed beliefs and fragile personas. Through towering riffs and soul-ripping growls, VILT tears down the illusions of what they once thought defined them. The upcoming album is personal yet universal, a tribute to the limitless potential within us all.
