Welcome back to 2005: Crazy Frog dominates cell phone screens, and everyone knows the legendary ringtone. With “Crazy Frog – Axel F,” The Butcher Sisters bring back this cult moment and infuse it with an intense dose of metal. Somewhere between a nostalgic flashback and a mosh pit attitude, they’ve created a cover version that (un)surprisingly sticks in your head. Following its live performances at Wacken Open Air and Summer Breeze, the Mannheim-based band now release their nostalgia-infused track for everyone to enjoy anytime.
Kings of USBM, WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM have returned with sharpened teeth with their new album “Estuary” that is set for a release on October23rd, 2026 via Century Media Records outside of USA/CAN and Relapse Records in USA/CAN.
The band comments: “The record is set 1000 years in the future. Survivors of a cataclysm wander the haunted ruins. It is a world of mutant creatures and open portals. Post-apocalyptic religion takes form in a wild landscape.”
“Estuary” is raw and volatile with the storming sensuality of noisy industrial elements, evolving through the domain of warm rain, majestic forests and diffused starlight. Massive percussion and seething gothic guitars wipe the listener’s psyche clear of all stagnation, transforming them into active, evolutionary conduits.
After captivating audiences at major European summer festivals such as Hellfest, Graspop, Midgardsblot, Party.San, and Summer Breeze, WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM will be opening portals and performing songs from “Estuary” on the “Knights of Tiamat Tour” across the UK and Europe this fall, followed by the USA in early 2027.

There’s a new name on the Australian rock landscape — MMMR Music — and its first release has arrived.
“Fire’s Still Burning”, written by Mark Ritchie & Mick Malusa, is the first taste of what’s coming from a songwriting partnership that has already produced years of music together. Known for their work with Melbourne rock band Stonetrip, Ritchie and Malusa are taking another step forward with MMMR Music – creating a platform for their songwriting, recordings and the music still to come.
“Fire’s Still Burning” is a powerful, melodic rock track built around the chemistry that has always driven Mark and Mick’s writing — big guitars, a strong hook and plenty of heart. The single carries the grit, melody and unmistakable rock DNA people familiar with their previous work will recognise, while marking the beginning of something new.
Sometimes in this industry, you have to think outside the box. MMMR Music is exactly that. It’s not the end of Stonetrip, it’s another avenue. Another creative outlet. Mark and Mick have spent years writing, recording and developing music together, MMMR Music now gives them a home for the next chapter of that creative partnership — and the freedom to take their music in new directions. This isn’t about closing the door on what came before. It’s about opening another one. Sometimes you have to think outside the box, take control of your own music and create a new path forward, and that philosophy sits at the heart of MMMR Music.
Alongside MMMR Music, the release is being supported by Duckfat Records, another part of the independent platform being built around Mark and Mick’s music. “Fire’s Still Burning” is the first release — but there is plenty more music to come.
Epic-Melodic Black Metallers OLD RUINS have released their new single & video ‘Tyrael’s Despair’, taken from the band’s upcoming album “Mount Arreat”, coming out on September 18th.
The band says of “Tyrael’s Despair”: “The song is our tribute to one of the most dramatic video game endings of all time. Because, in a way, you’ve won, yet at the same time you feel as though you’ve lost. That sense of despair and the anger at the hopelessness of the situation… all of that is captured in this song.”.
Released on 21 August, “Tyrael’s Despair” is the second single, accompanied by a music video well worth watching – another hit from the upcoming album “Mount Arreat”. [ … find out more HERE » ]
