Symphonic metal unit SIRENIA have unveiled their powerful second single, “Deadlight”, today, accompanied by a visually palpable official music video! The international four-piece led by mastermind Morten Veland is set to release their 11th album, 1977, on May 26, 2023 – exploring a new style like never before. SIRENIA are positioned at the top of the scene, maintaining their spot for over two decades while gathering worldwide chart entries and touring throughout Europe, Latin America, North America, Asia and Australia.
The new single, mesmerizing album opener “Deadlight”, is captured within the magic of 80’s sonics. The world of soulful violin and fragile piano lines build up an enchanting, energetic atmosphere that is underlined by the impressive voice of multi-talented mezzo soprano singer Emmanuelle Zoldan. Transporting the listener to a retro auditory arcade harking back to when groovy synthwave melodies dominated the world of music, the international band merges late 70’s and 80’s pop rock stylings with synthwave elements and their remarkable, hard-hitting symphonic melodies – shaking the listener to the core.
Mastermind Morten Veland about “Deadlight”: “Deadlight is in many ways a typical SIRENIA song, it has all those elements which is represenatble for our sound and style.I find it to be a very melodic and catchy song, and a good choice for our second single off the new album 1977. I hope you’ll enjoy it.”
“Deadlight” is followed by the fast-paced “Wintry Heart”, which gives a bittersweet taste of early 90’s vibes and roaring guitars, while “Nomadic” represents SIRENIA’s characteristic dark and heavy side as shredding guitar riffs alternate with playful interludes while relentless drums and symphonic electronic elements go hand in hand with one another. “A Thousand Scars” marks a totally new fusion for SIRENIA, as heavy symphonic tunes dressed as remarkable rock riffs and poppy rhythms dance together with the feathery light vocals of Emmanuelle. With the eerie and epic tunes of “Fading to the Deepest Black”, the song is reminiscent of their last album, Riddles, Ruins & Revelations (2021). Kicking off with vertiginous blast beats and a mesmerizing performance by Emmanuelle Zoldan, a warm vocal interlude by Morten Veland supports the song’s stunning atmosphere before it leads into an impressive guitar solo. Following their operatic symphonic highs, the heavy side of SIRENIA is not forgotten and appears especially towards the end of their 11th record.
Following the fantastic feedback for the first solo album by Fates Warning vocalist RAY ALDER “What The Water Wants” back in 2019, InsideOutMusic are pleased to announce the upcoming worldwide release of the follow-up effort “II” on June 9th, 2023.
You can now check out the opening track “This Hollow Shell” in a lyric-video created by Cloud Music Typography HERE
Once again, just like for the “What The Water Wants” debut, the new album was written with guitarists Mike Abdow (Fates Warning touring member) and Tony Hernando (Lords Of Black) – who both also performed bass guitar on their own songs –, features drummer Craig Anderson (Ignite, Crescent Shield) and was mixed by Simone Mularoni (Rhapsody, Michael Romeo, DGM). Ray Alder’s second album is simply entitled “II”, but in musical terms this is a much more revealing, exploratory piece of work than its predecessor.

Since its formation in 2015 in Baltimore, Maryland, WORMHOLE has been spearheading the tech slam movement, introducing strong melodies, technical prowess, and virtuosity to hard-hitting brutal death metal. In October 2015, and in 2016 WORMHOLE released their aptly titled debut album “Genesis” on Lacerated Enemy Records.
With influences drawn from Necrophagist, Abominable Putridity, and Beyond Creation, WORMHOLE has been described as “monumental” and “monstrous”, with “ferocious slams” that “bludgeon listeners senseless”.
In December 2017, WORMHOLE made their incendiary live debut. In 2018, they partnered with Vulvodynia on a tour of Europe, and in 2019 joined the infamous yearly Tech Trek tour with death metal giants ARCHSPIRE, INFERI, and VIRVUM.
“The Weakest Among Us”, released in January 2020, WORMHOLE is bridging the gap between brutality and virtuosity and pushing the boundaries of what a death metal band can be.
WORMHOLE will release their third album in 2023 via Season of Mist.
The infernal Action Punx return with an all-new arsenal of catchy and merciless Rock’n’Roll. Prepare to have your face blown off by heavy guitars from the Motörhead and Scandinavian School of Rock, delivered with LUCIFER STAR MACHINE’s trademark infamous no-bullshit attitude. But these 12 nitro-fueled songs aren’t just brutal heavyweight combat: as you’ll soon find yourself singing along to tracks that are as tuneful as the Misfits and Ramones combined. And once their fired-up version of a Kiss song screams out of the speakers, you’ll be already jumping up and down, playing air guitar like your life depends on it. This is Rock’n’Roll as it oughta be: dirty, reckless and with melodies to die for!
“Satanic Age” was produced by guitarist Mickey Necro and frontman Tor Abyss, who have written the entire album during the pandemic. Once they had made demos for all the tracks and had a vision how the record should sound like, they hired once again engineer Roman Riemann to record, mix and master the album under their direction.
The record was produced between January and June 2022 at Studio Bunker 85 in Lübeck, Germany. It boasts guest appearances by Marc ”Sparky“ Phillips of Demented Are Go and Kit Swing of London outfit Seven Days And Doesn’t Die.
The album is released by The Sign Records worldwide, and is available on vinyl (1000pcs black, 500pcs red transparent w/black splatter+solid white splatter, 500pcs half/half solid black+solid gold), CD (Digipack, 1000pcs) and all digital platforms.
Time To Kill Records is proud to announce the signing of Italian chaotic hardcore unit MIND/KNOT. The band will release their brand new album in the Summer of 2023.
At once prudently traditional and brazenly unorthodox, MIND/KNOT’s iteration of hardcore simmers and shimmers, flooding the senses in a fever dream of passion, violence and spectral mysticism.
Rome-based MIND/KNOT formed in 2018 and originally united Yari Caramore (bass), Simone Perna (drums) and Marco Burrascano (singer). In 2019 the band released a 7-track EP, while their first album “Eat the Leaf!” came out in 2021. Both records were very clearly inspired by the original hardcore of the 80’s, drawing influences from legendary acts such as Black Flag, Minor Threat, Bad Brains and Circle Jerks.
After some time, the band started to get tired of the linearity of that original sound: moved by the desire to express something else besides anger and violence and willing to externalize the discomfort from which such emotions arise, the project therefore began to change musical direction, incorporating darker sounds and unsettling tempos and metrics. This is also thanks to the then new guitarist Roberto Cadau, who joined the band in 2021 bringing in a new range of influences and several mathcore, chaotic hardcore and noise punk elements.
On their upcoming album, MIND/KNOT embrace all the beloved history of hardcore to create something that is more personal, equally pummeling and heavy as soaring, both beautiful and cruel in different moments.
Watch for more details on the new album release, new tour updates, and more news on other upcoming MIND/KNOT activities to be posted shortly.
