Today, Wednesday June 22nd, Swedish hard rock band JOHAN KIHLBERG’S IMPERA will be special guest at the final performance by KISS in the city of Göteborg (Gothenburg), Sweden.
JOHAN KIHLBERG’S IMPERA released their latest album “Spirit Of Alchemy” in 2021 on the Metalville label.
The album features John Leven (EUROPE) on bass, Snowy Shaw (KING DIAMOND, SABATON) on drums, Jonny Lindkvist (NOCTURNAL RITES) on vocals, Lars Chriss (LION’S SHARE), on guitars, Kay Backlund (LION’S SHARE), on keyboards – main man Johan Kihlberg, with Pontus Egberg (KING DIAMOND) and Mats Vassfjord (220 VOLT) playing bass on one song each.
Last night, the band also did a warm-up show at the Valand venue in Gothenburg, as part of a KISS pre-party.

Australian deathcore metal band AS PARADISE FALLS have just revealed a new music video for their new single “BATS“, as well as announcing the availability of pre-orders for their upcoming EP album Madness / Medicine which is scheduled to be released on September 23, 2022 via Eclipse Records. The video was directed by Sam Beck.
“BATS was one of the first songs to be written during the demo process” says guitarist Danny Kenneally, “and itactually was one of my LEAST favourite songs as other tracks were written. We were close to doing a re-write or just scrapping it altogether. However as soon as we did a second demo and then added the vocals, it just came together. Now, it is easily one of the most hard-hitting songs we’ve written, and I am so proud of how this track came out, and how my vision came to life.” Vocalist Ravi Sherwell adds, “when I heard the demo of BATS for the first time in Danny’s studio, I immediately knew this was going to have that dark, bouncy groove I could really blend with. Lyrics started flowing, mixing themes of witch trials/hunts with current issues surrounding cancel culture. Without much conscious thought, BATS became the purest form of modern APF: hard hitting, oozing with groove, and just bullshit heavy.”
Madness / Medicine by As Paradise Falls is a 5 track EP that will defy what a two piece band is capable of. With the influence of this modern Grime & Hip-Hop, old school Deathcore and a futuristic look on how their music should be perceived, the band teamed up with longtime friend & producer Shane Edwards (Northlane, Trophy Eyes, Hellions) at Studio 28 in Thailand where the 5 tracks were transformed into a modern day monster. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Danny was unable to travel for the mixing/mastering process and resorted to utilizing Facetime and streaming from his home studio to assist with the final process of the EP.

Produced by Kile Odell with post production by Skold (Former Marilyn Manson, KMFDM, etc), the hard-hitting track contains plenty of angst at the current state of the world.
“Technology plays a significant role in all of our lives, ‘Living Fiction’ asks the question of whether or not it plays too much of a starring role in our lives. It’s about the data we share, and how as a whole we’ve become more and more addicted to it. When we were writing I noticed how much I had come to rely on technology and social media to have a window to everything when the world had kinda shut down. Technology boomed and I just started noticing patterns and how much they’d become a rhythmic part of my life,” says the band’s vocalist, Vincent Torres.
He adds, “I think we captured that energy in the song and it was an absolute pleasure to work with Tim Skold, who went in and added to that rhythm his signature more industrial elements that have made him Iconic. With that blend of energies I think it came out feeling like we are sort of absorbed in the technology rhythm. It’s been amazing getting back to things and seeing how our amazing fan base continues to support and rock with us. I’m Optimistic about the future and it is so good to get back into shows and releases.”

Finnish folk metal project RECOLLECTION released a music video for “An Offering of Sanguine”, which is the second single from their upcoming debut album. The song combines acoustic textures with harsher distorted guitars, creating a stark contrast between the elements of the song – a contrast that reflects the relationship of man and nature, the main theme of the song.
The album, which is titled “Through the Veil of Future Past”, is set for release on the 15th of July, 2022 through Savo-Karelian Productions.
