Moonshade adds:
Let us tell you a brief history of Tomorrow.
Deeply inspired by Yuval Noah Harari’s ‘Homo Deus’, our new single speaks about Mankind’s possibly infinite possibilities for cultural, scientific and technological evolution, if we only manage to not find ourselves extinct in the process.
May we set the skies ablaze, and as the flames subside, gaze in awe at the vastness of the Universe’s Everlasting Horizons- with all its wonders and horrors.
Jimmy Kay from Canada’s The Metal Voice spoke to Primal Fear’s singer Ralf Scheepers. Scheepers talked about the re-release of the bands debut album, his days in Gamma Ray and stories about Helloween and the Halford tour.
Ralf Scheepers was asked if Helloween every approached him to sing with the band and he said, “I heard they were looking for me (when Kai Hansen wanted to step back as singerl ) but I was still in my band and as a young kid 16-17 years old starting with music. Being with my family starting with my daily job I was not mature enough to decide those things to move to Hamburg and start as a musician. They never really asked me, I just heard they were interested. Kai was the singer back then with the ‘Walls Of Jericho’ and they were looking for a singer because Kai was the guitarist and wanted to concentrate on one instrument. I heard they were interested in me but that came later( meaning he found out years later.”
PRIMAL FEAR will release a deluxe version of their highly-praised self-titled debut album from 1998 — remastered by Jacob Hansen at Hansen Studios, Denmark and including three bonus tracks as well as an extended booklet featuring liner notes and many photos from the band archives — on July 15th, 2022 via Atomic Fire.
The album that contains guest appearances by Kai Hansen (guitars; HELLOWEEN, GAMMY RAY etc.) and Frank Rössler (additional keyboards) was originally recorded at House Of Music Studios, produced by founding member Mat Sinner, supported by Tom Naumann and Ralf Scheepers, and engineered by Achim Köhler. The iconic artwork was designed by Stephan Lohrmann who also cooperated with PRIMAL FEAR for their latest studio album and other parts of their back catalogue.
Alternative rock band THE NIXONS released a brand new single “Kaleidoscope” to all major platforms today! The single is from their upcoming EP, also titled Kaleidoscope, due out on June 24, 2022. In addition, the band will be on tour this summer with Everclear and Fastball! See the shows in the flyer below.
The Nixons were founded in Oklahoma City, OK by singer/guitarist Zac Maloy, guitarist Jesse Davis, bassist Ricky Brooks and drummer John Humphrey in 1990. FOMA, released in 1995 on MCA Records, included the radio hits “Happy Song”, “Wire”, and “Sister” which was a top 5 alternative hit that also crossed over into the Hot 100 pop chart. The group capitalized on their success with big tours (about 300 shows a year for nearly a decade), including dates with KISS, Soul Asylum, Radiohead, and Toadies. They went on to release two more albums with MCA that yielded several rock radio hits including “Baton Rouge”. The band recently reunited the original line up for a series of sold out shows in the Midwest, culminating with an opening slot with Smashing Pumpkins. In 2019 the band released singles, “Favorite Lies” and “Crutch” as well as a video for the latter. The band wrapped up the year with a double bill tour with Sponge.
Zac Maloy is an acclaimed songwriter and producer in Nashville who has scored hit songs with numerous artists including the #1 songs “Temporary Home” by Carrie Underwood and recent chart topper “Atlas Falls” by Shinedown.
In 2003, after extensive auditions, John was selected to fill the drum seat for Seether. John has been touring and recording with Seether for more than sixteen years now. The band, averaging more than 120 shows a year, has amassed twenty Top Five singles, three platinum records, and numerous gold albums.
Jesse and Ricky continue producing, creating and making music extensively in multiple genres.
When bands release music in a 7″ vinyl format, usually in a limited edition, it can mean that the majority of fans who don’t have anything on which to play vinyl are unable to access the music easily. And, with this in mind, on the first Friday of the first six months of 2022, Norwegian Black Metallers SARKOM have been releasing their entire back catalogue of 7″ vinyls in digital format.
Starting in January, and ending in June, the band will have released a total of ten tracks, representing the crushingly dark, guitar-driven sound for which SARKOM has become known over the band’s 19 years of existence.

Polish metal legend and trash pioneers KAT have released the video for their cover of Scorpions’ ‘Blackout’, which you can watch below.
The song, originally featured on ‘The Last Convoy’ (2020), is one of three covers with which the band paid tribute to Scorpions, Deep Purple and AC/DC, on the album that celebrated a 40-year career of rough, hard-hitting heavy metal.
New York City, NY extreme metal group THE MACHINIST have today shared PIG – the second song to be taken from their upcoming sophomore album, All is Not Well. On their latest single, THE MACHINIST lambast racially motivated institutional police violence with no holds barred candour and scorn. PIG will receive a music video treatment in the near future, with more news in due course. All is Not Well is set for release via Prosthetic Records on July 8.
Speaking on PIG‘s release, Amanda Gjelaj (vocals) comments: “Writing PIG was very emotional. Lyrically, it’s in your face and gets straight to the point. We were in the middle of a global pandemic and in the middle of the Black Lives Matter movement, going to protests and seeing things I never thought I would have to see. This song is political but very real. We want our fans to feel and understand how serious these times are. With that being said, we are very excited to show everyone PIG.”
Three years on from their debut full length, Confidimus in Morte, and following US and Canadian tours alongside Falsifier and Black Tongue as well as US support slots with While She Sleeps and Vulvodynia respectively, the New York, NY trio have undergone a transformative process of upheaval. In the immediate wake of the Coronavirus pandemic that ravaged their homestate, THE MACHINIST found themselves at ground zero in New York in the early stages of All is Not Well’s creation. With a state of emergency declared, all studio work on the record ceased for an indeterminate time. In this universal limbo the groups core of Amanda Gjelaj (vocals), Josh Gomez (guitar) and Steve Ciorciari (drums) watched on in horror as 2020s political climate began to fall under the weight of itself alongside societal ills and the spread of rampant misinformation.
Resuming recording as the world tentatively took to recovery, THE MACHINIST teamed up with Daniel “DL” Laskiewicz (Bad Wolves, ex-The Acacia Strain) to produce, mix and master their sophomore effort, with help from Ice Nine Kills’ Ricky Armellino for vocal tracking. The time spent in isolation and witnessing the horrors of police brutality (explored on PIG), inflammatory politics and minority communities coming to terms with loss sits restlessly within the marrow of All is Not Well’s lyrical themes. Sonically, Gomez’s penchant for converging both death metal brutality and intricate melodic metal and hardcore serves as a counterpart to All is Not Well’s excoriating kickback at a world in crisis.
THE MACHINIST’s latest effort finds the band embracing more melodious territory and refining their more expansive inclinations with Gjelaj’s vocal performance looming large as an anchoring force on the release’s nine tracks. Across All is Not Well’s 34 minute runtime, it’s plain to see that THE MACHINIST’s decade long existence has led to All is Not Well being the most conceptually and musically realised incarnation of the band yet.
Standing tall in 2022, THE MACHINIST discards solipsistic tunnel vision for a wider scope of the personal and political. All is Not Well refuses to resign in the face of the current climate’s ongoing political and personal divisions, opting instead to shine a light and give a platform for the chance of hope.
All is Not Well tracklist: 1. PIG 2. Mother Earth 3. All is Not Well 4. Hourglass 5. The Final Encounter 6. Death’s Embrace 7. Lysergic Lullaby 8. Monsters 9. Letter in Red
Upcoming THE MACHINIST show: July 8 – All is Not Well release show – The Meadows – Brooklyn, NY w/ Johnny Booth, Yak Mob, Onsight. Vendettanyc
