THE HELLACOPTERS were formed in 1994 by Nicke Andersson (vocals and guitar), Dregen (guitar), Kenny Håkansson (bass) and Robert Eriksson (drums). At that time Andersson was renowned in the metal scene for his work in well-known Swedish death metal band ENTOMBED and Dregen had built a reputation as co-founder and guitarist of his main band BACKYARD BABIES.
Next to THE HIVES and THE BACKYARD BABIES, THE HELLACOPTERS are considered one of the most important and influential Swedish rock bands of the 1990s and 2000s – they achieved two Gold certifications, won the Swedish Grammy and a Kerrang! Award, have amassed 100 million streams to date and have supported and toured with the likes of The Rolling Stones, Kiss, Black Sabbath, ZZ Top or the Foo Fighters. They have released seven albums, ranging fuzzed-out & supercharged garage punk on “Supershitty To The Max!” (1996) & “Payin’ The Dues” (1997) to perfectly crafted & soulful high-energy rock’n’roll with a strong vintage vibe on the following albums, “Grande Rock” (1999), “High Visibility” (2000), “By The Grace Of God” (2002) and “Rock & Roll Is Dead” (2005). A compilation of cover songs called “Head Off” was released in 2008 and marked the band’s last album before ultimately dissolving. In addition THE HELLACOPTERS have released almost four dozen singles, splits and EPs until this day, most of which got the limited 7inch or 10inch vinyl treament, making them a vinyl collector’s dream … or worst nightmare.
THE HELLACOPTERS reunited in 2016 to play a few shows for the 20th anniversary of their debut album, and have proven an unstoppable force ever since, performing at Sweden Rock Festival, Psycho Las Vegas, Download, Hellfest, Roskilde, Ilosaarirock, among others. In October 2021 they announced that they had signed a deal with Nuclear Blast Records and a new album would be in the works for Spring 2022. The first new single, “Reap A Hurricane,” saw the light of day on December 17th, 2021, and was premiered live on stage at a sold out show at Globen in Stockholm on the very same day. Their critically acclaimed 8th studio album, “Eyes of Oblivion,” was released on April 1st, 2022, and has gained them international chart success, e.g. in Sweden (#1 for two consecutive weeks), Finland (#2 Physical), Germany (#3 Album Charts), UK (#5 Rock), Switzerland (#11 Album Charts) and many other countries.
Finnish Prog Metallers FIREPROVEN have teamed up with BraveWords to premiere exclusively worldwide their new lyric video ‘King‘, taken from the band’s farewell album “Epilogue” coming out on May 27th.

Guitarist Janne Väätämöinen shared on ‘King’: “There is, in fact, quite a number of different approaches when it comes to the story behind this song. So, it’s kind of a survival story, but I won’t reveal more because I want the listener to be able to understand it the way they hear it. Sanna and Nuutti assisted with the songwriting, and Ilari’s tense keyboard parts brought the distinctive Fireproven sound to the song. In addition, there’s an awesome guitar solo, which was super fun to play.”
On the lyric video Janne adds: “Petri Inkinen (www.guiltyvisuals.com) created the spectacular lyric video that we are all proud of. My original idea for the video was a Sin City type world whose black and white world would be replaced with power neon colors. The end result is really great and fits the barracks of the song like a nose to the head.”
In January 2022, FIREPROVEN announced that after this album they will be disbanded, thanking their loyal fans releasing “Epilogue” which will remain their last effort, as a band.
“Hello everyone! We hope that 2022 has started well for you guys. Sadly, we have to announce that Fireproven will no longer continue. There are number of reasons that led us to this decision but we’re all still good friends, and will continue to keep it that way. We’re going to release our last album later this spring but all shows will be cancelled. We want to thank you all for your love and support during these years. None of this would have been possible without you guys listening to our tracks and showing us your love. Peace and love! Stay healthy!”
“Epilogue” Album line-up is: Sanna Solanterä – lead singer Janne Väätämöinen – guitar and backing vocals Juha Väätämöinen – bass and vocals Ilari Hannula – keyboards Nuutti Hannula – drums
FIREPROVEN is a progressive metal band from Finland. The band is known for their long, imagery songs, as well as their energetic live shows. Tales From Six Feet Under, the first solo endeavor of former Delain singer and songwriter CHARLOTTE WESSELS, was released via Napalm Records in fall 2021, and debuts a song in her native language, Dutch rocker “Afkicken”. Today, Wessels’ has released a breathtaking new full production music video for the song, which marks the last video for Tales From Six Feet Under at the same time.
“Afkicken”, the compilation’s second track, enchants with electronic industrial vibes and a flattering vocal performance while conjuring a hauntingly dark atmosphere wrapping around from the very first tone. It’s another inimitable proof of Wessels’ multifaceted nature and wide artistic range, heating the anticipation even more for everything that is to come in the future!
CHARLOTTE WESSELS on the song and video:
“From the moment I finished the track “Afkicken” – my very first song in Dutch, I desperately wanted to tell the story of the song’s protagonist in a way that transcends language. I’m thrilled about this absolute fever dream of a video full of cults, monsters and murder I’ve put together with the amazing cast and VideoInk crew. This video isn’t only an ode to some of my favorite films; on a personal level, it presented some brand new experiences and challenges, from wild choreographies to some serious shape-shifting. I’m really excited to bring this one into the world!”

Unable to perform live due to the pandemic, Wessels spent most of last year buried in her Six Feet Under home studio, writing, performing and producing an eclectic wealth of songs. Tales From Six Feet Under offers her favorites out of the bunch and marks an electrifying collection with gems ranging from melancholic indie pop to synth-infused rock. The record features Wessels’ rendition of Goth classic “Cry Little Sister”, as well as a beautiful synergy of the stunning voices of CHARLOTTE WESSELS and Alissa White-Gluz on “Lizzie”. The mesmerizing and haunting “Victor” was released in April this year along with a visually palpable music video. “Soft Revolution” showcases the artist right where the magic happens; in her Six Feet Under studio. The song – part sweet sorrow, part soaring call to action, is quickly becoming a fan favourite.

Finnish melodic rock/metal band LILLI releases the third single from the upcoming second album on Thursday 12th of May. The song titled Elude is a heavy sounding but still wistful story of giving one’s all but still to be left with nothing. Elude following the two earlier single releases – Limits of Life and Manflake – continues the musical development leaning towards heavier sounds compared to the band’s first album Awful Hits for Women (2020).
”The lyrics are about trial and error in a relationship, about giving all you got to someone but still just not being enough. Eventually one is forced to give up and let go, but still the doubt remains: did I try hard enough or could I have given it more effort?” the vocalist Lily Black sums up.
”Elude differs from other our songs because the basic structure was created almost two years ago but the finishing took time. The chorus especially took a lot of work and we ground it to the point of tiring. We put the song on the shelf for a while and got back to working on it in the beginning of 2022 as we were working on the second album. Suddenly it all just clicked and the released version also includes a synthesizer bringing wideness to the sound. The song is very nice to play and as an upbeat song it works great in live shows as well” Teemu Harjunen (guitar) and Sami Halinen (bass) comment on the song.
The song has been recorded in the group’s bassist Sami Halinen’s home studio in Nakkila. Mixing was done by Sami Niittykoski (SN-Audio Production) and mastering Alho Audio Mastering.
LILLI is a melodic rock and metal playing band founded in February 2019 from Pori, Finland.
