DOUBTING THOMPSON is a one man studio project based in Wisconsin in the United States. His music is a unique form of thrash metal that combines technical precision with raw aggression. Vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Jeff Thompson began in the local music scene playing thrash metal covers which still influence his style to this day, as you can hear in the Doubting Thompson body of work.
With a musical style often compared to Testament, Coroner and Exodus, Doubting Thompson offers a hard hitting blend of old school thrash and contemporary sensibilities. Technical precision and driving propulsion sets the project square between the raw edge of finesse and fury. Pummelling riffs and incendiary lyrical content leave the listener engaged, incited and ready to get in the pit.
Doubting Thompson is currently working on his fourth EP, tentatively titled, Lizard Brain Aggressions, expected in 2023.

“Reign in Hell” music video is Produced, Mixed and Mastered by Zack Ohren at Sharkbite Studio, Oakland, CA. Video by Eli Lucas Director and Editor: Eli Lucas Featuring Scott Shapiro, Eli Lucas, Kai Sun, Kiyoshi Morgan.
In regard to the music video, drummer Eli Lucas, says “It’s not easy to make a video yourself when the goal is to fool people into thinking it was made by someone who knows what they’re doing. Luckily, we stumbled across the perfect filming location: an infinite black abyss, conveniently located deep underneath my neighborhood church. It also doesn’t hurt to have four of the sexiest, photogenic dudes in town, if not the world.”
Lead singer Scott Shapiro adds, “It’s hard to remain handsome on the descent to hell, but I think we pulled it off. This song is one of our favorites from “White Hot Reflection” and we hope that makes it out of the void and into every heavy metal-loving fan’s home and eventually be that song stuck in their head that distracts them from whatever it is that they don’t want to be doing. Is it better to Reign in Hell? It’s certainly more fun!
Space Vacation takes inspiration from heavy metal icons like Motorhead, Judas Priest, Ozzy, and early Def Leppard, yet they also carve space for melodic tendencies and earn the heavy metal title in their own right.
Space Vacation’s 5th studio album “White Hot Reflection” releases April 29, 2022 on Spotify, iTunes, and YouTube. The heavy metal band continues to shred on new music and create outright thrashers, so you can expect to hear more from them soon.

You can listen to the new single “Another Day To Live” here.
The band comments on the new single:
For each of us, the song symbolizes an episode in life that we had to face head-on without looking back.
It presents a broader view of where we envision going in our style, with softer parts, more technically diverse synths, and alternating clean and screaming voices.
Modern Metalcore band Taking Back August hails from Bucharest, Romania. The band was formed in 2020 by musicians Alex Precup (vocals), Claudiu Ene (bass), George Motei (guitar), Alex Iliescu (guitar), and Moroianu Gabriel (drums).

The new, dramatic “fight sequence” music video for the track, “Lift Me Up,” from California based alternative metal band, MOTIVE BLACK (AFM Records) has just been premiered. Produced by Grammy-winner Nick Rowe (Lamb Of God, Vampire Weekend), the track showcases the talents of frontwoman Elana Justin, and features special guest Carla Harvey of Butcher Babies, on vocals.
Watch the new Motive Black video for “Lift Me Up” HERE:
The powerful music video for “Lift Me Up” features the red hot synergy of Justin performing together with Butcher Babies’ Carla Harvey in a street fighting sequence fans will want to view on repeat. Elana Justin explains: “I wanted the video to focus on female strength. The director and I worked together to come up with an idea that spoke to that. It was also fun to step out of my comfort zone and try something new. I’ve never done anything combat related so it seemed like it would be a fun avenue to explore. The director, Dale Resteghini, also directed the video for “Broken”.
I’m a Butcher Babies fan, so when the song was played for Carla and she agreed to perform on it I was super excited. Carla is a great example of a badass woman killing it in the music industry. I think her vibe fits the song perfectly. She really added something special to “Lift Me Up.” Working together really brought the song up to a new level.
I think it’s really important for people to see women working together to create music and art. We keep seeing It more and more and it’s so exciting. It’s essential for women in this industry to stick together and support each other. There is so much more female visibility in this kind of music than there was even just a few years ago.”
Carla Harvey (Butcher Babies) concurs stating “I love collaborating with strong women on projects so when I was asked to add my vocals to “Lift Me Up,” I happily obliged. The result…an infectious tune, a new found friendship and a ride through Compton in the sickest 1968 Firebird…the stuff dreams are made of!”
Motive Black will appeal to fans of Evanescence, Delain, Follow The Cypher, The Pretty Reckless, Halestorm, In This Moment, Shinedown.
“Lift Me Up” was produced at the legendary NRG Studios in North Hollywood, Calif. by Grammy-winning Nick Rowe (Vampire Weekend, Lamb Of God, Madonna, Snoop Dogg) and mixed by Josh Wilbur (Lamb of God, Korn, Papa Roach). “It’s been a real treat working with Elana,”Nick Rowe explains. “She is a diamond in the rough—unafraid to explore new musical territory and put her soul on the page lyrically. I can’t wait for everybody to hear what we’ve been working on!”
