Extreme Metal pioneers VENOM INC. are proud to announce their sophomore album “There’s Only Black”, which will be released on September 23rd via Nuclear Blast Records.
Almost 40 years after their inception, the revitalized 1989 – 1992 VENOM line-up of guitarist Jeff “Mantas” Dunn and vocalist / bassist Tony “Demolition Man” Dolan, and the new addition of drummer Jeramie ‘Warmachine’ Kling have returned with one hell of a follow-up to their acclaimed debut, “Avé”, and show no signs of slowing down.
Tony “Demolition Man” Dolan comments: “Following ‘Wacken’ in 2019, our live season closed giving us time where I could have my hip replacement surgery and we could take the recovery time to work on a new album… Little did anyone know we’d be hit by a pandemic that would pause the whole world. We began our work at a pace then being locked down with no prospect of live shows I decided there was no need to rush it along but utilize the time to create without the pressure of live work looming.
“So we began recording our songs .. and after producing twice the amount required we began editing, touching, improving, and polishing until we had until we finally had what we decided was THE correct album along with the label and here we can finally present to you… a pure ball of furious… VENOM INC power that left us feeling proud and excited at the same time…THIS album is now yours!!! And as the world runs through its evolution of its colors remember… when the sun goes out… THERE’S ONLY BLACK!!!!! AVE!”

Bulgaria’s ODD CREW have released a music video accompanying their grinding new track ‘Wasted Days’. This is the fourth single from their upcoming album Dark Matters (Part I), due out on May 27, 2022 via Drakkar Entertainment. The video continues the black and white emotionally shattering concept of the new direction in which the band intends to grow in the future.
Shortly before the release of the single, the band announced that there would be four albums entitled ‘Dark Matters’, and also that a feature film for the first part will be released.
Guitarist Vasil Parvanovski comments: “For me, ‘Wasted Days’ is one of the tracks on the album with the most cyclical and darkest feeling. I remember when we worked on the idea, everyone in the band fell in love with this simple and heavy riff. It also led the overall concept we wanted to have in the song to keep that gloomy feeling. We made videos for all the songs off the album, and the video for this song was the first finished one we watched. After seeing it we said to ourselves that this is exactly the emotion we wanted to keep for them all.”
Following five much acclaimed studio records, two DVDs and countless live shows over more than two decades, Dark Matters (Part 1) sees ODD CREW reach their musical maturity on a new level, and one that doubles down on the band’s songwriting skills and exceptional talent. ODD CREW may have stepped out as one of Bulgaria’s best kept heavy rock and metal secrets long ago, but their new album will make them indispensable for the global heavy music scene.
Dark Matters (Part 1) was recorded, mixed and mastered by ODD CREW in their own “ButcherHouse Studio”. The album pre-sale has just started at THIS LOCATION!
Praised by fans and critics alike for their outstanding debut album “Agora”, Germany’s CREDIC have unleashed the hotly anticipated & worthy successor, titled “Vermillion Oceans“. Featuring ten brand new tracks, with their second full-length record CREDIC deliver a furious and ferocious, yet emotional metal Iliad. An epic brand of melodic death metal that is, despite upholding the very DNA of the genre, free and bold, charging with vigour and embellished by a monumental aura of longing not unlike the feeling you get when you gaze at the starlit sky in wonder and terror. Imagine a cross between Gothenburg metal and the score to “Stranger Things”, “Vermillion Oceans” sounds like a massive, zeitgeisty metal album taking a stroll through Hawkins, Indiana. To celebrate the release in glorious style, CREDIC have unleashed a brand new music video for the track “The Path”.
CREDIC comments:
THE PATH… to cross all given limits. Just like the lyrics, the music has also no limits. A Heaven Shall Burn verse, a Parkway Drive chorus, a Machine Head breakdown and, of course, an Amon Amarth tremolo-double bass interlude. All combined to a bulldozer of a song and an absolute live show maniac. Turn up the volume and tear down those barriers of yours.
Furthermore the band has announced new live dates, supporting the mighty Debauchery in the fall of 2022! So make sure to catch CREDIC on tour on one of their upcoming shows!
Norwegian hard rockers CONCEPTION have released the much-expanded deluxe version of their State of Deception album digitally. The CD version will be made available the following week. The album features a host of brand new recordings, including exclusive new songs, a number of live performances and re-recordings of some of the most popular tracks from their back catalogue. The campaign will be led by the release of a video for Silent Crying 2.0.
The deluxe version of State of Deception is an acknowledgement from the band to address the fans’ call for making more material available, and has been financed exclusively via the band’s unique direct-to-fan relationship over the course of the last twelve months. “We’ve been lucky enough to have such loyal fans,” vocalist Roy Khan observes. “They have been incredibly generous in supporting us, and we’ve tried really hard to acknowledge that with this album.”
Speaking of the brand new version of Silent Crying 2.0 guitarist Tore Østby revealed “this was originally written to be performed with a music class I was teaching in elementary school! Then we got a record deal first time around, and my brother persuaded me to play it to the band. Roy loved it and completed it with his personal touch”. Roy explains further: “When you revisit and analyze old songs there’s often something you would have done differently, but this collection of words came out the way it was supposed to the first time around. I know this track means a lot to many people and it is also a favorite of mine, showing how light and beauty can be found even in the darkest place.”

MARILLION have unleashed a video for ‘A Friend For The Earth’, coinciding with Earth Day 2022 and following the release of their chart-topping album ‘An Hour Before It’s Dark’.
Don’t wanna say goodbye But I’m watching the time The flowers and the bees Vanishing beneath our feet”
WATCH THE OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR ‘A FRIEND OF THE EARTH’ HERE:
If you dive into Marillion’s extensive catalogue, you will find several songs that take on the topic of environment and humanity’s impact on it. The 1989 album and title track ‘Seasons End’ is only one of many examples.
Now, over 30 years later, in times of ‘Fridays For Future’, an ongoing pandemic and a general big uncertainty about the future of humanity, the topic does not lack relevance – quite the opposite!
Coinciding with Earth Day 2022, Marillion yesterday released a new video accompanying what is chapter two and three of ‘Reprogram The Gene’, a song released on their new album ‘An Hour Before It’s Dark’ on March 4th, 2022.
While the song and video deliver a clear message on the one hand, Marillion also leave room for everyone to have their own flavour of what the words of this song are about.
Steve Hogarth about ‘A Friend Of The Earth’: “We are not of the heavens. We are of the earth. And whether you like it or not, when it dies, it’s gonna take you with it. The planet is screaming in our faces like an approaching express train. Some of us can hear it but don’t listen. Some of us can’t even hear it. But getting out of its way is our only hope. We’re at a tipping point right now. Not to act, is suicide.”
Too self-righteous? How about: Turn the thermostat down and eat more veg.”
With ‘An Hour Before It’s Dark’”, Marillion released one of their most upbeat albums of their career while, at the same time, they once again did not shy away from uncomfortable topics, reflecting on their own behaviour, and putting their finger in the wounds of time.
The album topped the album charts worldwide, breaking the band’s chart records in several countries. In Germany and the Netherlands ‘An Hour Before It’s Dark’ went straight to #2 in the official album charts, making it the highest chart entry for the band in both countries to date, while in the UK the band also celebrated #2 in the official charts, their best chart position in over 30 years!
Marillion will embark on a major European and UK tour in autumn 2022, preceded by several Marillion weekends until summer 2022.

All-star modern metal band IMONOLITH have released new single / video ‘The Lesson’, taken from new album Progressions, set for release on 20th May.
Drummer Ryan Van Poederooyen commented: “’The Lesson’ is the 2nd song Jon Howard and I wrote for the Progressions album. Jon came up with the intro of the song and sent it to me. From the first moment I heard the intro, I was inspired and knew this was going to be a progression in song writing for Imonolith. The end result turned out amazing, hence the reason it’s going to be our main single and video release for the album. ‘The Lesson’ is a deep song musically and lyrically. It’s heavy in parts, and entrancing in others. It’s a journey to listen to. The lyrics are about a personal battle with empathy and being overly empathetic to a fault. We’re stoked on how this song turned out and can’t wait for everyone to hear it!”
The single follows ‘The Reign’ featuring Jens Kidman, which also appears on Progressions. Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/tCrNeoLo6lo
Now, with Imonolith digging their claws firmly into 2022, the band returns with their follow-up record, Progressions. Progressions started out as a five-song EP, and then grew into a full album’s worth of material. The name ‘Progressions’ fits in with the band’s sound, having changed and developed in many ways. To show how the band have progressed from their early demo days in 2015 up to their current sound in 2022, the record features brand new tracks as well as demos of their older material. Becoming more versatile and, at times, more progressive in playing style, song writing and musical direction, Progressions covers the musical history of who Imonolith were, up to who they’ve become today.
“We’ve all had professional careers and played in different groups for a long time,” says Ryan. “We’re drawing on all of that experience to do something new. When you think of a monolith, you think of a grand and solid structure. It resembles what we want the band to be, while making it an intriguing experience.”
Imonolith are pleased to announce new members . They replace Brian Waddell and Scott Whalen who have both decided to step down from touring.
Featuring drummer Ryan Van Poederooyen (Devin Townsend Project), vocalist Jon Howard (Threat Signal), guitarist Kai Huppunen (Methods of Mayhem, Noise Therapy) & Oswin Wong (Threat Signal) and Conan Freeman (Punchdrunk) on bass, Imonolith are a collective of heavy-hitting players at the top of their game. Their 2020 debut album State of Being features special guest appearances from Jens Kidman (Meshuggah) and famed Swedish vocalist Johannes Eckerström and is made up of 10 hook-laden, riff-heavy tracks that centre around the theme of how people deal with various stages of life.
With extensive touring commencing January 2023, you’ll be hearing a lot more from this ferocious new act very soon.
