VUOLA is a psychedelic rock project of a Finnish drummer, producer and studio manager Jussi Vuola. ‘Laugh Vivid Often Adore Unity’ is an inter textual salute to the giants of the past. Robert Plant, Jimmy Page as well as Tom Scholz of Boston are being credited, too.
These are the fruits of the beautiful summer I spent under the sun and stars, in peace and harmony, surrounded by the people I love.”
‘Laugh Vivid Often Adore Unity’ is dedicated to Vuolas sister losing her husband to cancer recently, way too early. The new single paints a picture of an unearthly reunion beyond life and gives hope to this one. The video is representing a hungry live band: Jussi Vuola – Guitars & Vocals Jori Saloranta – Guitars & Vocals Joel Kinnunen – Keys, Guitars & Vocals Fabian Korström – Bass & Vocals Elias Koljonen – Drums & Vocals
All proceeds of the album will be donated to the victims of the Ukraine war during year 2022 via Unicef. The first singles are now available on Bandcamp for the amount of your choice.
ABOUT JUSSI VUOLA: Jussi Vuola has played drums since his teenage years in a variety of acts, including the Finnish bands The Grammers, Mystons, Willie & The Goodsouls and Achiote, to name a few. In 2010 he put together an analog recording studio in Turku, Finland that has become a home for a lot of acts. Hundreds of gigs around the globe, tens of albums he has played on, and hundreds of releases he has taken part of production on, have shaped him to the person he is today. Over the years, it became clear it was time for him to make a move downstage. In 2022, he is leading a talented five-piece under his own name to venues, with himself on vocals & guitar. The anticipated, esoteric, heavy hitting album ”Alouv” is coming out in spring 2022.

Following their much acclaimed, third album Never Say Die (2018), Melbourne-based hard rock act DEAD CITY RUINS has premiered a music video for the high voltage, new single “Preacher”!
Formed in 2010, the Australians sold their belongings and went all-in when it comes to rock ’n’ roll. Tirelessly touring the planet, the band has managed to capture the hearts of its audience gig by gig – much like Rival Sons, Monster Truck, and similar trailblazers of their generation have. They also share a list of influences with these acts, namely Deep Purple, Guns N’ Roses, Zeppelin. Their goal: bring rock ’n’ roll back to the people!
“Preacher” may not only be a promising harbinger of an upcoming, new album to follow in the hopefully not so distant future with AFM Records, but also introduces new vocalist Steve Welsh! Before joining DEAD CITY RUINS, Welsh was mostly active on YouTube, where he dedicated himself to imitating a plethora of singers. There’s one clip of him singing the twelve songs from Alice In Chains’ “Dirt“ in twelve different styles; ranging from James Hetfield to Ronnie James Dio.
“Preacher is the first song we wrote together after re-grouping from three months touring Australia and Europe,” the band comments. “New blood, new riffs and new power! Crack a beer and crank it up!”
Now fasten your seat belt for a heavy dose of the rock ’n’ roll, and watch DEAD CITY RUINS‘ brand new video for “Preacher” here:
In January 2022 DAWN OF SOLACE, the solo project by Wolfheart/Before The Dawn mastermind Tuomas Saukkonen, released its brand new album “Flames Of Perdition” via Noble Demon. With eight brand new tracks (+ two bonus songs), the album turned out to be nothing but what you would expect from the death and goth metal icon: beautiful melodies and a breathtaking atmosphere of incomparable class. Just a few months later May 20th will see the release of “Notes Of Perdition”, a brand new EP which resembles the album name not without reason. “Notes Of Perdition” features four intimate and emotional unplugged versions of songs from the current album. Together with Mikko Heikkilä of Kaunis Kuolematon as vocalist, the two once again invite you to a dark and emotional journey through the spheres of Finnish melancholy! In support of the new EP, Dawn of Solace have released a brand new music video for the track “Event Horizon”.
Tuomas Saukkonen comments:
“I love making unplugged and minimalistic version of DoS songs and strip the songs to the core where so little is needed to produce so much sadness and emotion.“
Tracklist reads as follows:
White Noise
Event Horizon
Skyline
Flames Of Perdition
“Notes Of Perdition” will be coming out on May 20th via Noble Demon and is now available for pre-save HERE
LIPS TURN BLUE, the acclaimed Upstate NY band that releases its debut album on MIG MUSIC May 4th., has released its second music video, PRAY FOR TOMORROW. Although written and recorded with the band’s late vocalist and co-writer, Phil Naro before the current conflict in the Ukraine, the compelling video was created to reflect that tragedy and others dominating the news today.
“’Pray For Tomorrow’ is a song we have had for a while now and was written when conflicts around the world started becoming a main focus in the news; then the pandemic hit, and recently the focus has been on the war in the Ukraine,” says guitarist and Lips Turn Blue founding member, Don Mancuso. “When it came time to do the video, we decided to that situation could be addressed in a powerful way using this song.”
In addition to Mancuso, the band (nicknamed LTB) also includes keyboardist Eric Bieber, bassist Mike Mullane, drummer Roy Stein and newest member, singer/ instrumentalist Iggy Marino. The debut album and subsequent videos were the last projects original singer Phil Naro was able to complete before passing away in May 2021 from cancer.
“This is the second of only two videos we have with Phil Naro. We were working on the song when things in the world started going awry and Phil’s own health concerns allowed a song like this to give him comfort.” adds Eric Bieber, who, in addition to his skill as a classically trained keyboardist and longtime professional performing musician, recently retired as a physician and hospital executive administrator.
The group will grant a limited time usage license to any legitimate organization raising funds for Ukrainian refugees. “If this video can help bring awareness to the plight of the Ukrainian people and raise money for them that is the least we can do as artists,” says bassist Mike Mullane.
“Pray For Tomorrow and this video is very timely for the world right now,” says Bernd Ramien, A&R & Director of Catalog Marketing for MIG (Made-In-Germany-Music GmbH), which signed the band soon after only hearing a few tracks from the debut album. “It speaks of hope and we all need some hope right now in our lives…”
The group is currently booking tour dates to coincide with the album’s release. Based in Hannover, Germany but distributed worldwide, MIG Music has released albums by an extraordinary roster of acts that includes: Joe Jackson, Sheila E, Jack Bruce of Cream, Roger McGuinn, Ron Wood, Muddy Waters, Pee Wee Ellis, Maceo Parker, Weather Report, Nash Albert, Pat Travers Band, Vanilla Fudge, Richard Thompson, George Thorogood, Public Image Ltd, and many others.
Switzerland’s legendary industrial metal force SAMAEL have just released an intense official music video for “Dictate Of Transparency”, taken from their latest full length album Hegemony (2017). SAMAEL on “Dictate Of Transparency”: “‘Dictate of Transparency’ reflects the zeitgeist of the digital world. The song is taken from the album Hegemony, and since its release, it manages to even more accurately describe the world we live in. We do not make predictions, we only make observations.”
