The group was formed at 2016, by Michael Pouliezos and George Zikas in their mid/late teens and have changed various members over time before finalizing their line-up in the fall of 2018. Spektrvm have made numerous appearances have been made at music festivals and shows around Greece.
The general musical style of their upcoming debut album Blood For Heaven could be considered as heavy metal with influences from progressive, folk, nu, thrash and doom metal, but no one can be sure where the endless well of musical ideas and interactions within the Spektrvm cannon are going to lead.
The Blood For Heaven album will be published in 2022 in collaboration with Sliptrick Records.
Irish-Australian rockers from Sydney’s inner west, FLICKERTAIL, (formerly The Bitter Sweethearts), have released their new live single, ‘Don’t You Let Me (Let You Down) – Live in the Studio’, available now on all digital platforms, out through Golden Robot Records.
FLICKERTAIL play guitar-fuelled rock and roll exactly the way it’s supposed to be played. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Thin Lizzy, the Dubliners, Airbourne and The Darkness, the band honed their sound in the garages and booze dens of Sydney before hitting the road in 2015 to showcase their unique sound at every pub, club and back yard along Australia’s eastern coast.
Their new single, ‘Don’t You Let Me (Let You Down)’ has been liftedfrom the upcoming live EP Afterlife, which is slated for release mid-year. The track features sizzling guitars, high-paced lyrics about parties and poor decisions and a balls-to-the-wall drum solo that could make John Bonham blush.
LionSoul are unveiling their new music video for the second single “Amber of Illusion” off their forthcoming third album “A Pledge To Darkness” due out on April 29th via Rockshots Records.
“If you listen to only the synth structure, Amber of Illusion could be imagined as an 80s epic space synth-wave soundtrack.” adds the band.
LionSoul‘s “A Pledge To Darkness” follows the band’s previous releases “Welcome Storm” (2017) (Limb Music), “Omega” (2013), and EP “The Throne” (2015). Since the band’s formation in 2012, they have shared the stage and toured with artists such as Domine, Iron Savior, GammaRay, Kissin’ Dynamite, Geoff Tate, Tygers Of Pan Tang in Italy and across Europe along with festival appearances on Metal For Emergency (IT), Biker Fest (IT), and Loud and Proud Festival (IT).
The new album “A Pledge To Darkness” is a huge step forward in LionSoul‘s career as it is more heterogeneous, in some ways darker than the previous ones. Featuring 11 roaring cosmic tracks, it brings with it nuances ranging from thrash to melodic death metal, including some death metal vocals in order to give more emphasis to certain passages. The album is a composition of different stylistic approaches that converge into the power/heavy roots that still remain at the basis of their sound. The songs range from a classic power metal opener with spatial atmospheres up to a futuristic western ballad, from speed metal tracks – that wink at thrash and melodic death metal – to 80’s synth-wave tunes, from mid-tempo hymns in Teutonic/industrial style to the almost omnipresent Cyberpunk themes. “A Pledge to Darkness” remains in all respects a power metal album, but with some dosed contaminations. Overall, its goal is to take you on a hyperspace voyage from Tatooine to 2049 Los Angeles, while passing through Tranctor.
The band explains further: “Imagine your planet at the end of its life and you have the burden to preserve the knowledge so you take a spaceship for a trip to L A in 2049 meanwhile you pass through a portal between 1953 to 1986 and also you change your skin to save the human race from a virus.“

Last November, Chicago, Illinois based metal outfit REPENTANCE released their latest Ep “Volume I – Reborn” via Noble Demon. Five tracks of tracks of aggressive, fast-paced and technical compositions, amplified by a tight and sharp production, which were praised by fans and critics alike. From said EP, the band has today released a brand new music video for the track “Down In The Water”, which was directed, shot, and edited by Alex Zarek, with lighting design and programming by Brian Olivo.
Vocalist Adam Gilley on “Down In The Water”:
“The song is about Trying to overcome the struggles from within and ultimately succumbing to the demons of disease in the end.“
Guitarist and band founder Shaun Glass adds:
“When writing the new material I really wanted to make sure each song had their own identity yet fit into the sound of the band. With this track the main verse riff set the pace for a dark heavy groove that doesn’t let up and brings the listener in a twisted journey… Adams King-Kong-sized vocals put the stamp on this song and also this is my first song that I actually also handled the guitar solo which is a nice tribute to Dimebag Darrell (Pantera) & Jeff Hanneman (Slayer) – RIP.“
But that’s not the only news the band announces today, as “Volume I – Reborn” will finally be available on vinyl on March 30, after a long wait caused by the current situation in pressing plants worldwide.
In addition, the band will play its next concert in Chicago upcoming Saturday, April 2, so get prepared for a crushing night of intensity and feel free to join if you are round the corner!
“Watch close enough and you’ll find your way into the labyrinth.…listen close enough and you’ll discover that there is no way out.” Chris Reifert
Following on from the announcement from Autopsy’s Chris Reifert and Greg Wilkinson, that they have joined forces to create a new mouthpiece for a rotten age – STATIC ABYSS and their debut studio album entitled Labyrinth Of Veins will be let loose on Peaceville on 22nd April. The duo have premiered a new lyric video, created by Matthew Vickerstaff, for the album’s title track. “Labyrinth Of Veins slowly crawls evolving into a cacophonous wall of gloom. Unlike Jawbone Ritual, this track remains slow and evil from front to back.” explains Greg Wilkinson.
Static Abyss is the new mouthpiece for a rotten age consisting of the duo of Greg Wilkinson (Guitars/bass) & Chris Reifert (drums/vocals), both members of legendary American masters of sickness Autopsy, with Greg (also of cult act Deathgrave) recently welcomed as their new bass player.
Static Abyss’ debut studio album, ‘Labyrinth of Veins’, presents an unnerving, multi-layered eerie concoction of dirty doom and death, Chris Reifert states the album themes are to “explore the echoes of insanity manifested through human existence.” The result; a sinister onslaught of, at times, slow and bludgeoning brutal metal whilst at others whipped into a storm of chaotic vile hysterics. The spirit of Autopsy is at times present in the truly titanic riffs swathed in chilling atmospheric guitar leads, whilst Chris’ seemingly bottomless pit of morbid inspiration from the dark & twisted corners of life permeate the release with his highly distinguishable delivery to further the descent into madness.
The band have released the first track – “Jawbone Ritual” accompanied by a lyric video created by Matt Vickerstaff – watch here.
‘Labyrinth of Veins’ was recorded at Earhammer Studios in Oakland, CA, & Great American Music Hall, with engineering, mixing and mastering overseen by Greg himself. With thecover art appears courtesy of All Things Rotten.
On 22nd April, Labyrinth Of Veins will be released on CD, black vinyl LP with printed sleeve including full lyrics and digitally.
