“Break Down The Walls” marks the second single off the upcoming record from German Gothic Metal pioneers CREMATORY, entitled Inglorious Darkness, out May 27, 2022 via Napalm Records. The newest single is a straightforward hit of a track – emerging as a gentle melody wrapped in heavy metal drums that will creep right into your head to stay, providing another metallic preview of the album. Stay tuned!
CREMATORY on “Break Down The Walls”: “Gothic Rock’n Roll Motherfuckers! This is what modern Dark Rock must sound like. After our first Gothic Rock’n Roll hit “The Fallen” from the millennium year 2000, here is the second Gothic Rock’n Roll steam hammer, which drills directly into the auditory canal! The CREMATORY hit factory is still running at full steam!
The lyrics of ‘Break Down The Walls’ are about the fact that there will be always someone stronger and better and that sometimes it’s necessary to break some rules to achieve your goal.”

Inglorious Darkness is chock full of dark and resonating hymns, setting off with title track “Inglorious Darkness” – a true Gothic Metal anthem and a worthy opener that sets the mood for what’s to come. “Break Down the Walls” hits direct, accented by a gentle melody wrapped in Rock n’ Roll drums that will infiltrate the listener’s brain, and is further solidified by the clean vocals of Felix in the verses mixed with mighty growls in the chorus. Standout track “Trümmerwelten” lyrically illustrates a dystopian scene, while opulent keyboards build epic melodies to create orchestral, symphonic soundscapes underlined by heavy drumming. Monumental career highlight track “Tränen der Zeit” shines as bright as its original version – one of the highpoints of the band’s famous live shows – but in a modern new light. The band breathes new life into one of their all-time classics, engulfing the listener in melancholy and nostalgia alike reuniting with an old friend. On tracks like “Sound of my Life” and “Not for the Innocent”, the band’s tried-and-true use of keys and electronic elements are a noted standout, while tracks such as “Das Ende” blaze with headbang-inducing, stomping drums and hammering energy as German lyrics further intensify the Gothic Industrial Metal aura.

With Inglorious Darkness, CREMATORY prove that their passion burns brighter than ever, and that even after more than 30 years, they are solidified as a Gothic Metal genre giant.
CREMATORY on Inglorious Darkness: “New band line-up and back to the roots with only one guitar and no other singer besides Felix, who sang everything on this album alone, even the cleaner vocals. Hardness, melody and gloom are excellently combined on Inglorious Darkness.
Real Gothic Metal is the catchword, which can be enjoyed here. Numerous hits sung in German and English, partly electronic, partly orchestral and partly full on the face in Gothic Rock’n Roll style!”
Inglorious Darkness tracklist: 1. Inglorious Darkness 2. Break Down the Walls 3. Trümmerwelten 4. Rest in Peace 5. The Sound of My Life 6. Tränen der Zeit 7. Until We Meet Again 8. Zur Hölle 9. Not for the Innocent 10. Forsaken 11. Das Ende

Ahead of the two bands sharing the stage for two shows in Germany this July, POWERWOLF will be the second in-game collaboration of 2022 for Iron Maiden’s Legacy of the Beast free-to-play mobile game.
Following successful collaborations last year with Amon Amarth, Lacuna Coil, Ghost and most recently with Disturbed, Iron Maiden‘s Legacy of the Beast team created a new character and storyline borrowing from POWERWOLF’s latest album, Call of the Wild.
The new limited-time, in-game event called, Macht Der Wölfe (German for Power of the Wolf) features a limited-time character, Vârcolac.
When it came to seeing Vârcolac in Eddie’s world for the first time, POWERWOLF lead singer Attila Dorn says: “We were breathless and stunned when we saw the first iteration/scene of the game featuring our Vârcolac. And most of all we couldn’t wait to play it ourselves!!” Attila continues, “When I was a young kid listening to my Iron Maiden tapes all day, I would have never dreamed of playing the same stage one day, being invited to support Iron Maiden with my band. Is there anything more a metalhead could dream of?”
Lead guitarist for POWERWOLF, Matthew Greywolf says: “Iron Maiden‘s songs and melodies are immortal. The neat combination of melody and heaviness is still as revolutionary as it was when first heard Maiden at 11 years old, I was truly fascinated by it, and I still am!”
Keyboardist Falk Maria Schlegel continues: “I would say Bruce Dickinson is my major MAJOR influence in all that I’m doing on stage, with my whole performance… still a great inspiration, so thank you Bruce!”
Navigator Games CEO, Will Moore says: “The fans and players have been absolutely thrilled to see their favorite bands partner with Iron Maiden Legacy of the Beast. Over the past year our players have kept hinting at Powerwolf. We hope they’re pleased to see Powerwolf’s iconic mascot bought to life on this epic adventure!”
Players can earn the Vârcolac character for FREE by logging in a total of seven days from now, receiving Vârcolac on the final day. Ends May 12 at 2:00pm CET.
In this new storyline, Vârcolac and Van Helsing Eddie cross paths in the catacombs of Dracula’s Dungeon. Vârcolac has just escaped Professor Parabiosis, an evil doctor wanting to conduct experiments on him because of his extraordinary powers. He asks Van Helsing Eddie to join him in defeating the evil doctor. Van Helsing Eddie soon realizes that Vârcolac is fighting his own internal struggle between good and evil and they soon realize the professor has a more sinister plan in mind than just a mere dissection.
In Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast, metal and RPG gaming fans take on the role of the band’s iconic mascot, Eddie, who travels across a spectacularly diverse array of worlds by traveling through time in captivating 3D environments. Eddie appears in many forms, each a part of Iron Maiden‘s rich history, and each with a set of special powers and abilities.
At the end of 2021, POWERWOLF – the most successful German metal band to date – fascinated with a streaming event of unprecedented dimensions. Those who thought they had seen everything in the live sector were instantly proven wrong with unmatched audio production and visuals that can only be described as simply breathtaking. This summer, on July 8, 2022, this new benchmark for music streaming events will finally be available to view any time you crave. THE MONUMENTAL MASS – A CINEMATIC METAL EVENT will be unleashed on DVD, BluRay and many other physical formats!

Last month, Texas’ electronic rockers CEDARS released their official video for ‘Give Up The Ghost‘, and today they are presenting their emotional acoustic live take for the song.
CEDARS’ frontlady Sandeigh on the video: “We wanted to take this song apart in a way that allowed the emotions to settle more. It’s like the anger driving the original version takes a back seat here. To me, it feels a lot like the sorrow of the song is at the helm in this slowed down, live take.”
Earlier Sandeigh revealed on ‘Give Up The Ghost’: “Give Up The Ghost take a deep look into the parts of ourselves that struggle to let go. When does the past start to control the future? For this video, we wanted to create an aesthetic that felt really closed in and chaotic. Something that sort of gave the feeling of being trapped, with lots of jagged movement and oversaturated lights. “

CEDARS are currently filling up their show calendar, check out below their next performances in April and May!
Currently CEDARS are in the studio working on their next full-length album.
The band issued: “We got started on new concepts even as we were gearing up to release Cowards back in June.
While Cowards explores a theme of letting go and shedding what’s no longer needed, this new body of work is a deeper look into what comes alongside that purging, and what can be possible in its place. Cowards really feels like a forest fire. Everything was burning down in our actual lives and that, of course, made its way into the stories on that album and the videos we’ve created from it. But some of the most fertile soil is found after fire removes what’s no longer serving the forest. It makes room for new life.
But first we sit and sift through the ashes.
The new album’s title has a lot to do with the pause in-between the burning away and next season. It will explore themes of shadow work and inner patterns, and how the light needs the dark. And as usual, we’re doing it with an expansive and deep soundscape.
We’re excited. We’ve been in the demo phase for a bit and what’s coming together feels really good, like we’re more settled into who we are individually and as a family.”
Stay tuned for more information!
CEDARS released their latest album “Cowards” on June 11th 2021, via Gruene Records.

The circle is closing now and I’m happy to be part of it!”

Colleagues became friends and the meetings on common performances became unforgettable moments. We have shared many beers, joy and sorrow. When SCHANDMAUL invited us to participate in their song and video, we were happy from the bottom of our hearts and, of course, we participated wholeheartedly. Hopefully we will see each other very soon to celebrate the album and the alliance of the king’s guard!”
Since their debut, Wahre Helden, released in 1999, SCHANDMAUL has been a reliable force of top-notch, high-level folk rock full of exciting, captivating storytelling, performed by genre-trademarked instruments such as bagpipes, hurdy-gurdy and folk flutes, all topped with the unmistakable skills of vocalist Thomas Lindner. “Out of the cultural lockdown, out of the cold of winter, out of rigidity. Time to go out again, to meet and move. To new music, peacefully united. May the album be a ray of hope, especially now in these sad times. Peace.” (Matthias Richter)
