Today, JOE BONAMASSA launches the official animated music video for his new single “Mind’s Eye” taken from his critically acclaimed album “Time Clocks.” The stunning video, which is a homage to the animated style of the Beatles’ Yellow Submarine and the prog rock videos of the 70’s, is released during the lead up to Bonamassa’s UK tour which starts April 20th and runs until May 6th.
Watch the animated music video for “Mind’s Eye” below.
“Joe wanted this video to emulate the great prog rock videos of the past using cool custom illustrations and psychedelic scenes,” says Roy Weisman, the CEO of Joe’ U.S. label J&R Adventures.
Continues Weisman, “The song has a very Pink Floyd feel so the video needed to step up and meet that unique vibe. The whole Time Clocks record is about a journey and “Mind’s Eye” gives you a fun glimpse of what could be swimming around in inside someone’s mind.”
Celebrated blues-rock guitarist and singer-songwriter Joe Bonamassa returns to tour the UK for the first time in three years, when he performs five concerts in April and May 2022, including two nights at the legendary Royal Albert Hall on Thursday 5 May and Friday 6 May.
Joe will also perform concerts at Glasgow, The Armadillo on Wednesday 20 April, Cardiff Motorpoint Arena on Friday 22 April, and Brighton Centre on Saturday 23 April.
The 2022 UK tour follows the release of Bonamassa’s critically acclaimed 15th solo studio album “Time Clocks” that was originally released in October 2021 via Provogue/Mascot Label Group in Europe and J&R Adventures in North America.
Joe’s 2022 UK tour will feature the guitarist performing alongside a hand-picked group of world-class musicians playing songs from his forthcoming studio album “Time Clocks”, as well as tracks from his vast catalogue of albums such as “Royal Tea”, “Redemption”, “Blues of Desperation” and “The Ballad of John Henry”, plus classic Bonamassa fan favourites.
UK’s progressive post-metal outfit DVNE released their seminal second album, Etemen Ænka, which was hailed by fans and press alike around the globe, including “contender for the best metal release of 2021” by Germany’s Fuze magazine. Despite the global pandemic, DVNE managed to play two successful European tours and for the first anniversary of Etemen Ænka, DVNE are delivering a special four-song live performance. The band gave the tracks a new twist with the inclusion of violin and vocals by award-winning musician Lissa Robertson, and additional keyboards from Evelyn May Hedges. This Saturday, March 19th, fans can tune into Bandcamp for this electric performance filmed in their hometown Edinburgh, with the help of producer and longtime collaborator Graeme Young, who produced Etemen Ænka and Asheran.
DVNE are a band of great contrasts, weaving titanic heaviness and intricate gentleness together, complex lyrical ideas with engaging storylines, and this has only been expanded upon and concentrated on second album Etemen Ænka. “It is a very dense and layered album which will reward multiple listens, and while this is becoming a recurring aspect of our music, we feel that we went further with it this time. It’s also a very polarising album, emotionally speaking. The heavy sections are, well, very heavy, while the clean sections are much more intricate and delicate,” explains the band. Their name is a reference to the timeless sci-fi epic Dune by Frank Herbert, this is very much a genre that they happily inhabit, and is once again reflected in the lyrical content of the record. While wanting to create a universe of their own, they also cover more serious topics related to the society we live in, and while Asheran was very much focused on their relation to their surroundings and the environment, Etemen Ænka focuses much more on social issues and more specifically on inequalities and the human relationship with power.
Starting June 22, DVNE will hit the road with American stoner-metalers HIGH ON FIRE. More DVNE tour dates to be announced soon!

Italian legendary Speed/thrash metallers CELTIC HILLS have revealed the release date for their new album “Huldufólk” for April 1st, via Elevate Records. The album is now available for pre-orders at https://www.elevate2records.com/prodotto/celtic-hills-huldufolk.
The new album “Huldufolk” collects and relaunches the excellent reviews obtained from the previous work. “Huldufolk” is a record with a lot of melody but characterized by the speed that distinguishes Celtic Hills, and this single is a great taste of what we’re going to hear.
The album was produced by Michele Guaitoli singer of Temperance and Vision of Atlantis in the studios of the Groove Factory in Udine and for the realization of the cover again the talented Sheila Franco.
Just recently the band released the first single and lyric video ‘After the Earthquake’, taken from “Huldufólk”, in case you missed it, watch here: https://youtu.be/5duEIoowp9A
“After The Hearthquake” is a song that tells of the strength and aggregation of the people after the terrible earthquake of May 6, 1976 in Friuli. A text that tells the tenacity, the solidarity for what has gone down in history as the Great Reconstruction of Friuli. A hymn to remain united and help each other during the tragedies that afflict the peoples of the whole Earth.
Earlier Jonathan revealed on “Huldufólk”: “Again this time we will talk about Friuli, and the theory is at work that the location of the American Air Force Base Aviano is used to control an ancient access to the underground world, which has been used by the pagan gods since ancient times. The magical rites of the inhabitants of the mountains and the places where elves, fairies and gnomes once lived among the people are revealed. There are already definitive titles such as The Sound of the Earth in F sharp minor. A text tells how you can use the beneficial energy of the trees at dawn to strengthen your energies, but there will be no lack of historical events that accompany every CELTIC HILLS album.”
Jonathan Vanderbilt reveals on the album cover artwork: “The cover was again entrusted to Sheila Franco with the input of drawing a brighter cover, with the predominant green between the green that characterizes the MATRIX movie and the green of uncontaminated nature. A record in the balance between the enchanted world of legends, heroic deeds performed by people who wanted a better world. A record that looks to the past, projecting itself into a future to be built. A passing disc that wants to take past history with it to go further …to draw.”
The tracklisting reads the following: 1 – The Secret of the Grail 2 – Metal Message 3 – After The Eartquake 4 – Hidden Folk 5 – Green Forest 6 – Gate Of Hollow Earth 7 – Living Out Of The Egg 8 – The Sound Of Earth 9 – The Hammer Of Thor 10 – Villacher Kirktag Bonus track Words In Out (remix 2022) Living Out Of The Egg sings by Simone Cescutti
CELTIC HILLS’ previous album “Mystai Keltoy” was released on May 15th 2021 via Elevate Records. Order the album here: http://smarturl.it/zr31wj
CELTIC HILLS were born in 2010, in 2020 they sign a recording contract with Elevate Records with which they released the album “Blood over Intents” and the EP “Schrage Musik” both in 2020. In 2021 another album is out “Mystai Keltoy” produced and recorded by Michele Guaitoli singer of Temperance, Vision of Atlantis and Era. The style played is difficult to place in a single vein of metal, as there are many influences ranging from death to power, with sound elements that can also recall a certain type of 90’s thrash. The singing is quite varied, and for some listeners it may seem unusual in a metal band. power, speed and good melodic lines distinguish the band from others. Between 2010 and 2020 they released “Horns helmet fighters” and for the Slovak Music Globalliance they came out on international compilations on volumes 2,3,4. CELTIC HILLS’ new album “Huldufólk” is coming out on April 1st, 2022 via Elevate Records.
Waltari mastermind Kärtsy Hatakka and his band HEAD FIRST will release their new studio album of the same name on 27th May on Metalville Records.
Once there was Waltari… and HEAD FIRST!!!
There’s no denying the status of Finnish crossover monster Waltari as the first “metal-like” band export from their home country back in the early 1990s.
But only a few can still remember that their singer Kärtsy Hatakka already had another band back then under the name HEAD FIRST… the only real funk metal band from Finland! And now this very band is releasing their debut… after 30 years of waiting!
Kärtsy initially played in two bands at the same time, Waltari and Head First. The latter achieved considerable success in the Helsinki area with their danceable mix of funk, metal and prog rock. In some of the first Waltari songs, the funky influence of Head First was also clearly audible.
“Head First was hip, all the big Helsinki live venues loved the band, and bigger and bigger crowds came,” Kärtsy remembers.
But then Waltari surprisingly got an international record deal in 1991, and the rest is history. And so Head First was put on hold indefinitely. But now, after 30 years, they are back!
Already a few years ago, the band took the first steps towards re-activation by playing some shows in Helsinki and the surrounding area. So the wish to finally release a first album became the declared goal of Head First.
Based on the biggest live killers, the existing song material was adapted to today’s sound expectations. In addition, some brand new songs were created. In addition to the three original members Kärtsy, Jaani Marttila and Sami Timonen, a new bass player, Jesper Anastasiadis, was brought into the band.
Head First means old-school funk metal with a fresh edge of groovy beats and infectious energy!

SHOTGUN MISTRESS have dropped a sensational unplugged version of the hit ballad, ‘May She Never Walk Alone’, out now through Crusader Records.
After a string of successful singles that gathered global interest, the Melbourne based rockers released their debut self-titled album in July 2021, which was met with strong critical acclaim, brandishing monster arena ready tracks such as ‘Glorious Machine’, ‘Collide’ and ‘Bleed Me Out’.
‘May She Never Walk Alone’ describes the transience of life, exquisitely portrayed in a heady and dynamic ballad. While harnessing the expressive tonal colours of a string section, this masterful track mixes eloquence with a dash of spirit-fuelled raw energy. ‘May She Never Walk Alone’ is painfully poignant. For the fallen who we all know, and for those we don’t.

Shotgun Mistress was formed by Matt Wilcock (The Berzerker, Akercocke, Abramelin), an internationally renowned death-metal demon guitarist best known for playing at light speeds. He hooked up with “Diamond” David Lee on drums to jam out LA strip-era rock. Ben Curnow (EARTH) joined on bass along with vocalist Glenn Patrick (of Collegians, featuring members of Pseudo Echo and Invertigo).
Shotgun Mistress was the first Australian band to join Golden Robot’s metal label Crusader Records.
