Finnish melodic death metallers ANIMA HERETICAE have released a 12 minute long music video short film from the song Constellation Of Capricorn. The released video is shot for the final song of the debut EP and it is the band’s second video. The band’s music is a mixture of melancholic and mystic death metal. The Bands song themes are inspired by the northern nature and it’s mysthicisma and the new video explores this concept even further.
“We have had an idea of a video with an apocalyptic setup for quite a while. It was exciting to see how someone outside the band would see our vision. It was pretty clear from the very beginning that the producers Atte Santala & Jenna Wáthen would be able to interperent our band’s theme to the apocalyptic setting. It was a real acid test for our concept. It seems that our music and themes can be visualized beyond vikings, castles and mountains. To the future, that is.” The band describes the process.
“I didn’t used to like The Hollywood Stars, I used to like The New York Dolls. Then I heard The Hollywood Stars play ‘Satisfaction.’ Now I wanna f**k ‘em.” — Iggy Pop
After releasing their album Live On The Sunset Strip in late 2021 via Golden Robot Records, the legendary THE HOLLYWOOD STARS are back with a brand-new single ‘The Bottom’ which is out now on all digital platforms.
THE HOLLYWOOD STAR’s latest single ‘The Bottom’is a hard driving rocker highlighted by great guitar work. You won’t be able to listen to this track and sit still! This is pure classic rock, this is a nod to the Glory Days, this is THE HOLLYWOOD STARS.
It would seem like every nook and cranny in rock ‘n’ roll history has been explored ad infinitum by this point. Countless books and magazine articles have been written, painstakingly excavating the lives and careers of everyone from Chuck Berry to Aerosmith, Wanda Jackson to Arcade Fire. But what if there was a band with deep roots whose story had barely been broached? A band with direct ties to Little Richard, The Kinks, The Mamas & the Papas, The Electric Prunes, The Strawberry Alarm Clock, Alice Cooper, Kiss, Iggy Pop, The Runaways, The Flamin’ Groovies, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Steppenwolf, Meat Loaf and Blue Cheer, among others?
Such a band does exist. They are THE HOLLYWOOD STARS. And now, after more than 40 years apart, they are performing together again and making new music and ‘The Bottom’ is the start of a new chapter as we move into 2022.
Rising Swedish “Adventure Rock” stars HÄLLAS return with an evocative, feel-good blend of nostalgic 70’s hard rock, prog, proto-metal, folk and psychedelic influences on their anticipated upcoming third studio album, Isle Of Wisdom, out April 8, 2022 via Napalm Records. This collection of fresh tracks allows the listener to emerge in a brand new realm soaked in mystery and retro atmosphere – key features of HÄLLAS’ fantasy and sci-fi driven auditory aesthetic. To enter the mystical universe and get a first glimpse of what lies ahead, the Swedish five-piece has already unveiled the first two songs – the first single “Earl’s Theme”, together with a new video, and the bonus single “Stygian Depths”, today. “Earl’s Theme” starts off with an evocative guitar intro and a focus on Tommy Alexandersson’s unique vocal tone as retro synths develop the song dynamically, drawing the listener into a thrilling cosmos between fantasy and sci-fi, while “Stygian Depths” takes that emotion straight from the first notes and evolves into an anthem exemplifying the band’s brand: Adventure Rock!
HÄLLAS on “Earl’s Theme”: ”When you finally take the step and say to yourself: This is the way I want to live. Then he turns up – The Earl – and this is his song.”

Isle Of Wisdom starts with synthy “Birth Into Darkness”, with an incredibly clever topline from the one of a kind vocals of singer and bassist Tommy Alexandersson. The musical journey continues with the mystical single “Earl’s Theme” embellished by choral voices, and proceeds with exceptional “Elusion’s Gate” – a piece that, by making room for the guitar lines of Alexander Moraitis and Marcus Petersson, highlights the overall epic and mysterious atmosphere of the album. Isle Of Wisdom was produced in collaboration with Linn Fijal and Vilma Colling at Riksmixningsverket studio, which has hosted the diverse likes of Arch Enemy, ABBA and Celine Dion. Comprised of eight bold opuses, Isle Of Wisdom is a deft new step in the noteworthy sonic trajectory of HÄLLAS, cementing them as a band to watch!

DIRTY LACES have been making an impact on the Manchester music scene for a few years. Delivering a high octane, punk tinged sound, blended with some of the legendary UK Classic Rock influences, DIRTY LACES hit you with heavy riffs and addictive melodies that produce powerful Mancunian rock’n’roll with a dirty garage edge.
L’Esprit Du Temps the new EP by DIRTY LACES see’s their coming of age and venture into a psyche-garage wonderland. The 4 track EP shows many faces of the band with depth and dynamic range covering themes of self-discovery and socio-political liberation. The EP has now been released digitally via Golden Robot Records and you can get it on all platforms!
The band released two stunning singles in the lead up to the EP release, ‘Breathe’ and ‘These Days’ which saw them earn global recognition.
These Days: ‘These Days’ is the band’s first release since the nation stood still, changed, and became quite unfamiliar. As the band was forced into isolation from one another they were left with the breathing space and time to explore conceptual themes and the message that they wanted to convey in their music and how to move on and expand from themes of power, struggle, and self-awareness covered in their last single ‘You’.
‘These Days’ has become almost a time capsule about the age we now live in, the history of class struggle and the rise and fall of Empires, not carrying the sentiment of defeat and apathy, the message is positive, with hope nothing will defeat us.
Breathe: Fear, loathing, and pages of notebooks filled in between; North Manchester’s Dirty Laces edge closer to their anticipated debut LP with surprising new single ‘Breathe.’ Exploring life’s riddles whilst gently exhaling as its own tale of the unexpected, it also sees the band expand their audio-visual horizons by collaborating with the city’s creative Happy Daze video crew for the first time.
“Breathe is Dirty Laces stripped back and raw,” explains the band’s bassist, Tom, of the song’s unusually mellow sound. “It brings to the surface issues that dawn on every human such as their own mortality and the struggle to discover oneself. As a band we aren’t afraid to be vulnerable and express our inner feelings.”
With lyrics nodding to the literary works of Huxley’s Brave New World and Hunter S Thompson’s Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, ‘Breathe’ is another well-observed bend in Dirty Laces’ meandering journey so far. Plunging the existential toe-dipping of previous singles ‘You’ and ‘These Days’ to even greater depths, it emerges from the band’s escapist writing process of absorbing the world around them then projecting inwards aggravations outwards, to craft a classic rock sound bellying their years.
Even Ground: ‘Even Ground’ continues the theme’s covered in the rest of the EP but sees them delve into unfamiliar musical territories with a surprisingly fresh outcome.
Exile: ‘Exile’ is a four to the floor dance song that is a beast live and gets the walls shaking. The haunting intro riff seamlessly evolves to Zeppelin like sleaze. The band take the youthful energy they had in early recordings but seem to deliver it in a refined & mature package.
Finnish melodic death/black metal band SE, JOSTA EI PUHUTA released a second single ‘Murskaa unelmat’ (Shatter Dreams) from their upcoming third studio album Gehenna which is released on April 22nd 2022 via Inverse Records.
Singer Samu Männikkö comments: “Become part of the grey and learn to love it. Drown into mediocracy and spread the gospel. You were born to it and you will die being part of it. Shatter dreams!”
Finnish hard rockers MARCO LUPONERO & THE LOUD ONES return with the second single from their upcoming debut album. ”I would describe ”The New Dark Ages” as a straightforward punk rock banger with a strong message”, says Marco. ”I wrote it while reflecting on the current state of the world.”
In spirit of the track’s title, the band collaborated with Frank Berger of folk music act Ratatosk, who brought some true medieval flair to the song with the help of a hurdy-gurdy. ”It’s a fascinating instrument. It has a massive sound, at times very reminiscent of a bag pipe”.
The hurdy-gurdy has a rich history and is associated with several different parts of the world, perfectly fitting for Marco’s original idea. ”I knew I wanted the song to have some Old Norse flair, but I also wanted the sound to resonate with other cultures, because that’s what I was after lyrically, as well. The basic message is that no matter who we are and where we’re from, one thing is for sure: If we succumb to ignorance and fundamentalism, we’re on a dark path.”
Marco Luponero & The Loud Ones’ debut album ”Life & Death” is out March 4th.
