With “An Hour Before It’s Dark”, Marillion release one of their most upbeat albums of their career while, at the same time, they once again do not shy away from uncomfortable topics, reflect on their own behaviour, and put their finger in the wounds of time. Exactly one month before the album’s release, the band shows how well this goes together with a new foretaste of their latest creation.
“Murder Machines” is a song that was born in the challenging times of lockdown and social distancing and has become so much more than just a mirror of our times, more than a song that deals with the precious as well as dark sides of human relationships.
Steve Hogarth about the story behind “Murder Machines”: “I tried not to write about the virus. But it’s been so much a part of life for the past two years that it kept creeping in. The terrifying reality that to wrap my arms around my father or mother could ultimately kill them, gave birth to this song. The lyric was then developed to hint at jealousy and heartbreak – the pain of watching the woman you love embrace another man, or the emotional “murder” of the serial adulterer. And, of course, the arms of the superpowers, and the psychopaths who sometimes have their fingers on the triggers. Beware the murder machines…”
Like its predecessor, 2016’s critically acclaimed and chart-topping album “F*** Everyone And Run (F E A R)”, “An Hour Before It’s Dark” was recorded at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios, which also provided the perfect backdrop for the carefully chosen selection of behind-the-scenes footage in form of a documentary on the making of the album as well as a performance of “Murder Machines” which will be released together with the album.

Marillion will embark on a major European tour in autumn 2022, preceded by several Marillion weekends until summer 2022. Founded in 1979, British rock band Marillion have, over the course of 19 studio albums, become one of the most commercially successful progressive rock bands of the 1980s and are still one of the most outstanding representatives of their genre. Marillion embraced the potential of the internet for both their commercial approach and to interact with their audience, long before their peers.

“The ongoing instability caused by the pandemic has made it impossible for Dan Reed Network and Reckless Love to travel to the UK and throughout Europe,” says Dan.
Dan adds, “This decision has not been made lightly. We were determined to give these shows as much of a chance of happening as possible, however it is now clear that the world is not yet in a secure enough position for us to be confident about traversing countries with shows unaffected by Covid. There is the added caveat that when we return to play our first shows in what now will be well over two years, we want to do this in true DRN fashion and that means freely interacting with those who want to come and hang out with the band post shows. Our live performances are fuelled by our interactions with you all, before, during and after our shows!”

“The reception to the first single “Starlight” was truly incredible,” says Dan Reed. “We’re determined to keep our foot to the floor. “Pretty Karma” is the perfect track for that, and we hope this track keeps the anticipation levels for ‘Let’s Hear It For the King’ simmering on high! Finally, for those of you who are part of the ‘Networkers’ Facebook group or a supporter of the bands Patreon page, Dan will now be performing both solo and bringing down his bassist Bengan Jonasson and drummer Robert Ikiz from Sweden and it going to rock it up big time at The ‘Networkers’ show in Newcastle on Feb 27th. A couple tickets remain. For more information, please join us on Patreon or the ‘Networkers’ Facebook page.
Let’s Hear It For The King is Dan Reed Network’s sixth studio album, and their first since 2018’s Origins album. The new album comes full circle to the band’s original vision statement – to challenge beliefs, smash down existing protocol, and build something new out of the shrapnel.
“We are chomping at the bit to get out there and bring people what we genuinely believe is the heaviest, funkiest and most melodic DRN album to date,” says Dan Reed. “These songs are the strongest representation of the band’s sound that we’ve ever created. You have been warned!”
Not for the faint-hearted, the long-awaited new DRN album pays tremendous detail to infectious melodies, provocative lyrics and honours their shredding funk rock roots. This album is for visionaries who want to be part of and bear witness to the next step in the Dan Reed Network’s artistic evolution.
Available to pre-order from the official Dan Reed Network store https://danreednetwork.tmstor.es/– the new album will be available as a Limited Edition DRN LHIFTK box set, Limited Edition coloured vinyl, and much more. Dan has even created personalised, hand-written lyric sheets for each song from Let’s Hear It For The King that will be randomly placed inside the limited-edition box sets. Happy hunting, everyone!
“The new album snarls and bites,” says an enthusiastic Dan Reed. “We wanted to cut its teeth alongside some young, high-energy bands, so who better than Reckless Love and Collateral. Those boys can rock. Anyone who’s seen DRN live knows that’s where we come to life. We’re ready to deliver a lot of energy and give the audience a direct shot of funk n’ roll!”

The mighty KREATOR are proud to announce their fifteenth studio album, “Hate Über Alles,” which will be released on June 3rd, 2022. Five years after their highly acclaimed album “Gods Of Violence” (2017), peaking at #1 in the German album charts, the genre-defining band are proud to present this 11-track behemoth.
For 37 years, KREATOR has spear-headed a thrash metal crusade, inspiring generations of metal heads and musicians alike. The collision of traditional and contemporary values is a sentiment that Mille Petrozza has breathed in to the soul of this monumental new album; recruiting visionary producer Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Cavalera Conspiracy, Ghostmane and Turnstile) from Philadelphia to work with the band at the legendary Hansa Studio in Berlin. “Hate Über Alles” features gorgeously grim cover artwork by renowned artist Eliran Kantor (Testament, Thy Art Is Murder, Helloween), serving a bold statement against hate and division in today’s society.
Mille Petrozza comments: “Hate Über Alles reflects the time we’re living in. Everything is really loud and aggressive. The way we communicate has changed, thanks to social media. It causes a lot of imbalance. The world is in a state of disrepair. Life is not harmonic right now, it’s disharmonic… that’s where I was going with the title.”
Starting today, “Hate Über Alles” can be pre-ordered in various formats, including a noble 2LP+CD Box Set (scroll down for more details).
Today also marks the release of the first new KREATOR single, the vicious title track “Hate Über Alles,” for which the band has produced a thrilling music video that should be mandatory viewing for every metal fan!

Rivers of Nihil will be touring in support of their newest full-length, The Work, released last Fall on Metal Blade Records. Rivers of Nihil has never fit neatly into a box, but with 2018’s Where Owls Know My Name, they transcended all labels applied to them. Returning in 2021 with The Work, they’ve forged further into new territory, delivering an album that’s as cerebral as it is visceral, and that covers a staggering sonic range, definitively placing them in a category of their own. Inarguably a dense, heavy collection, The Work is far too dynamic to be considered a solely metal record and there is a genuine warmth that shows through, particularly tracks like “Wait” and the gorgeous “Maybe One Day.” Additionally, the band has incorporated far more clean vocals alongside the screaming that tears through many of the record’s heavier tracks. Courtesy of their friend Zach Strouse, saxophone once again adds extra layers of atmosphere to the collection, utilizing baritone, soprano, and alto saxes to great effect.
The Daisies kick open the gates in 2022 with “Rise Up (Live From Daisyland)”, the first of four live tracks to be released over the coming months.
After a two-and-a-half-year hiatus, THE DEAD DAISIES rose to the occasion in 2021. Fuelled by a sense of adventure and excitement within the camp to finally plug in their guitars, the band tore up stages playing songs from their Holy Ground album for the very first time.
The Like No Other Tour across the US & England/Wales, delivered twenty-six massive shows with frenzied audiences that were lapping up both the new songs and rockin’ out to the classics.
Over the festive break, the task to select a few of the best songs began and after listening through some of the recordings, four amazing versions of Daisies’ favourites stood out. “Rise Up”, “Bustle And Flow”, “Long Way To Go” and an incredible extended fiery version of the Deep Purple classic “Burn” almost makes you feel like you were there…
The tracks were recorded and produced by our illustrious Sound Engineer, Tommy Dimitroff at the famous Rock City, Nottingham, UK. The guys played in front of a massive, storming crowd who didn’t stop rocking all night which in turn fired up the band with the results being simply amazing!
“Hey friends, check out this live recording of “Rise Up” from our UK tour last fall. It was a great night and we love the UK!!” – Doug Aldrich
