“What if a Goddess was born from the Moon?” is what SARGAS pondered while writing the song Matrix Moon. After being featured on Metal Hammer’s March Issue, Sargas return by singing the praise of the false savior of humanity after a cataclysmic event which is a part of the main storyline of their upcoming album.
Vocalist/Producer Saleh Rezaei noted: “Traditionally in theology, gods are born from the sun and we wanted to do something different, a god being born from the moon is a Dark Twist in the story of our upcoming album. Humans also seek the help of a higher power while faced with disaster in our storyline we just gave them that but what if that savior has ominous motives? listen to Matrix Moon and find out!”
Crushing Death Metal grooves of gloomy roars. Iranian Death Metal quintet Sargas redefines Death Metal norms with their specific brand of Nihilistic Metal.
Formed in 2018 by Guitarist Salar Alizadeh and Drummer Hamed Sadraei, the Tehran Death Metal/Groove Metal outfit evolved through various line-ups of the initial songwriting stage of their upcoming debut album. Alongside their approach to the Death Metal genre, Sargas often delve into the realms of Black and Doom Metal for further inspiration and aren’t afraid to rebel against the clean singing taboo that is always present in extreme metal music.
After Sargas’ debut single ‘Home’ premiered on Decibel and after the release of their second single Labyrinth of Evolution, in 2022, they were featured in the New-Noise Round Up segment of the March issue of Metal Hammer
Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the forthcoming release of legendary Scottish rock band NAZARETH‘s new studio album, “Surviving The Law” on April 15, 2022. Today, fans can get their first taste of new music from the band with the release of the single and video ‘Strange Days’.
It is difficult to sum up in few words the history and influence in the history of rock music that an act like Nazareth has had. Having celebrated their 50th Anniversary in 2018 with the release of their 24th studio album, “Tattooed On My Brain”, the long-running UK hard rockers will enter their 54th year of existence in 2022 with the release of their 25th studio album, “Surviving The Law”. The line-up for “Surviving The Law” is the same as the previous release, consisting of Jimmy Murrison (longest serving guitarist in the band’s history), Lee Agnew (drummer since Darrel Sweet’s death in 1999), Pete Agnew (founding member, on bass) and vocalist Carl Sentance.
“Surviving The Law ” continues the new chapter that started for the band in 2018 with the arrival of vocalist Carl Sentance. In 2014, original singer Dan McCafferty had to leave the band for health reasons and with his blessing, Sentance began fronting Nazareth. “Tattooed On My Brain” saw Nazareth a rejuvenated band with a hard rocking album that had all the ingredients that make this band so great in the first place. As with “Tattooed On My Brain”, “Surviving The Law” was produced by Yann Rouiller at Sub Station in Scotland. The album features songwriting by all band members and continues the trend established with the previous album, showing that 25 albums into their career, the fire of rock ‘n roll still burns as bright as ever at the core of Nazareth.
Nazareth originally formed in Dunfermline, Scotland in 1968, releasing their eponymous debut album in 1971. The band broke big when, after supporting Deep Purple on tour, they released the Roger Glover-produced “Razamanaz” album in early 1973 to critical and fan acclaim. They then released an impeccable string of hit records, including “Loud ‘N’ Proud”, “Rampant”, and the smash hit “Hair of the Dog”, which was released in April 1975. The album included evergreen songs such as the title track (later covered by Guns N’ Roses on their “The Spaghetti Incident?” album) and “Love Hurts”. The band has continued to release albums and tour the globe since, coming up on their 54th year of existence in 2022!Get ready for a very welcomed return from Nazareth!
Stuttgart, Germany -based melodic death metallers CREDIC are gearing up for the release of the band’s highly anticipated sophomore album “Vermillion Oceans“, which will be coming out on April 22nd via Black Lion Records. In support of the new album, the band shared a brand new lyric video for the track “Tides Disharmonized”.
CREDIC comments:
“TIDES DISHARMONIZED is the second single and the opener of Credic’s upcoming album ‘Vermillion Oceans’. The dark epos leads the group to musically uncharted shores – heavy verses, breakdowns and melodies develop an atmosphere that grabs the listener and finally releases him into a monumental guitar solo. The lyrics are about losing faith in your abilities. When the world is out of joint and you don’t feel up to the challenges anymore the tides are disharmonized.“
While the title of the band’s upcoming record may sound like a biblical apocalypse, of churning blood-red seas and the end of days, it’s actually a metaphor for galleons of heart’s blood shed. Born on the dramatic coast of Cape Town, the album tells a Shakespearean story of love and woe. Featuring ten brand new tracks, with “Vermillion Oceans” CREDIC delivers a furious and ferocious, yet emotional metal Iliad. An epic brand of melodic death metal that is, despite upholding the very DNA of the genre, free and bold, charging with vigour and embellished by a monumental aura of longing not unlike the feeling you get when you gaze at the starlit sky in wonder and terror. Imagine a cross between Gothenburg metal and the score to “Stranger Things”, “Vermillion Oceans” sounds like a massive, zeitgeisty metal album taking a stroll through Hawkins, Indiana. You might wanna call it arcade death metal or not: This is a first, not only in the cosmos of melodic death metal.
“Vermillion Oceans” will be coming out on April 22nd via Black Lion Records and is available for pre-order at THIS LOCATION

‘At Night We Prey’ was released on March 5, 2021 and can be listened to in full HERE.
It has been seven long years since the world was last blessed with new music from the melodic blackened death metal stalwarts of NIGHTFALL. While the band has been absent from the scene since the release of 2013’s Cassiopeia, their legacy has not been forgotten. Comprising the holy trinity of Greek metal – along with ROTTING CHRIST and SEPTICFLESH – NIGHTFALL was the first extreme act in the country to sign an international deal, introducing the world to the burgeoning Mediterranean scene in the early 90s. Now, the band is plotting a triumphant return with At Night We Prey, the darkest and latest chapter of NIGHTFALL’s already storied career. Unlike past efforts, the band abandons any gothic aesthetic, traversing more into a melodic assault that calls to the sounds of Gothenburg, displaying an obvious maturation from the band that showcases their most serious, evolved, and tightest effort to date.
During the first decade of NIGHTFALL’s lifespan, the band headlined stages across Europe. Thereafter, went on to dominate international festivals such as Brutal Assault, Sonisphere, and Wacken, the latter of which the band solidified their legacy as the first ever Greek band to earn an envied spot at the renowned festival. The band eventually made the decision to switch to a studio act before they went completely silent. When reflecting upon the sudden disappearance after a steady rise from the underground, vocalist and founding member Efthimis Karadimas explained that it was due to an all too familiar beast – depression. “It’s because of depression that kicked in as early as mid-00s. I can write for hours and get into details about stuff gone wrong or mistreated situations, but the basis of all discouragement to move on has been depression and the effort required to get over it.” Despite the dark days, Karadimas did not abandon music entirely, moving on to form THE SLAYERKING, a gothic doom metal band that has released two agonizing full-length records between 2016-2019.
Alas, the abrupt departure of the band was not the final “goodbye” as NIGHTFALL has been reinvigorated with a new lineup and coveted deal with Season of Mist. Karadimas has reunited with original NIGHTFALL guitarist Mike Galiatsos, who helped define the band’s sound during the early years. With the addition of drummer and producer Fotis Benardo (ex-SEPTICFLESH) as well as guitarist Kostas Kyriakopoulos (THE SLAYERKING), the band is finally ready to release the tenth studio album At Night We Prey. In addition to the long-awaited new music, Season of Mist will also be re-issuing the band’s original albums that were produced by Holy Records back in the 90s. This is not the only news the band has to share as NIGHTFALL has also vowed to finally perform again. “We are gonna play these live, including stuff never played live before,” says Karadimas.
At Night We Prey is a very dark and personal effort, tackling the topic of Karadimas’s battle with depression. “A beast I have experienced its teeth deep into my soul, I decided to come out and share that experience with metalheads,” Karadimas laments. “This is the least I can offer now to the big fight against depression. If we do not stop this, it will eat us all alive. Share your pain, speak openly about it. This is the only way to kill the demons in your mind.”
Rockshots Records is proud to announce the signing of Italian heavy/power metal band LIONSOUL for the release of their new album “A Pledge To Darkness” this coming April 2022.
“A Pledge to Darkness” is the third album of the band, following the highly acclaimed “Welcome Storm” (Limb Music). The record is a huge step forward in the band’s career as it is more heterogeneous, in some ways darker than the previous ones. It brings with it nuances ranging from thrash to melodic death metal, including some death metal vocals in order to give more emphasis to certain passages. The album is a composition of different stylistic approaches that converge into the power/heavy roots that still remain at the basis of their sound.
The songs range from a classic power metal opener with spatial atmospheres up to a futuristic western ballad, from speed metal tracks – that wink at thrash and melodic death metal – to 80’s synthwaves tunes, from mid tempo hymns in Teutonic/industrial style to the almost omnipresent Cyberpunk themes. “A Pledge to Darkness” remains in all respects a power metal album but with some dosed contaminations.
“Imagine your planet at the end of its life and you have the burden to preserve the knowledge. So you take a spaceship for a trip to L.A. in 2049 meanwhile you pass through a portal between 1953 to 1986 and also you change your skin to save the human race from a virus.” comments the band.
“A Pledge to Darkness” is due out on April 29, 2022 and it’s already available for pre-order: https://bit.ly/LionSoul_CD
