Self-proclaimed emo-gressive punk rockers, CROSSING I’S DOTTING T’S, have released their brutally moody new single ‘All Feelings Aside‘, out now across digital platforms, through Riot Records.
From the soft verse vocals echoing a sentiment of insecurity and not belonging, to the blasting vocal chorus, ‘All Feelings Aside‘ is a grungey, alt rock, sonically-large song, and screams of desperation for not wanting to do the same old things as everyone else.
Starting in his bedroom and car in Orange County, Matt Mucerino started to write songs until he teamed up with Alex Estrada of Pale Moon Audio (known for his work with Joyce Manor, Touché, Amoré and Nails, as well as being the front man of Silver Snakes). Estrada helped produce and engineer the Crossing I’s Dotting T’s debut EP, with the band also picking up an endorsement from Orange Amps.
Crossing I’s Dotting T’s is a raw, original force that morphs from different rock genres such as alternative, punk and emo. This combo provides hard-hitting yet catchy songs, intended to evoke emotion.
Crossing I’s Dotting T’s consists of a group of music-loving guys, including Matt Mucerino (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) Soren (Zo) Crisell (lead guitar) Oliver (Oli Humbucker) Callison (bass, backing vocals) and Mat Miranda (drums).
Chicago’s WITHOUT WAVES are today premiering a brand new track, titled Sleight in Shadows, and it’s accompanying visualizer via Distorted Sound. Sleight in Shadows is the second single to be taken from the experimental metal group’s much anticipated third album, Comedian, which charts the quartet’s emotion heavy time spent together as a group since their 2017 full length, Lunar. Comedian is due for release via Prosthetic Records on March 18, and is available to pre-order here.
Speaking on the single release, Anthony Cwan (vocals / guitar) comments: “Sleight In Shadows was about 90% written prior to us getting in a room and jamming things out. This song is riddled with nervous energy. It’s about that feeling in the pit of your stomach that never settles, the restless leg that won’t stop moving etc…We kept that nervous energy intact when jamming and even expanded upon it in certain sections of the tune. It showcases the primary components of our sound: catchy hooks, progressive riffs, chaotic rhythms, and a sprinkle of dissonance wrapped up into a four minute piece. We’re really happy with how it turned out”
Having been a band for over a decade, and grown together – personally and creatively – for over half of their lives, the members of WITHOUT WAVES have an unspoken bond, a synergy that unites them and drives them forward. Despite the at-times difficult topics covered on the album, the band acknowledge that there is often humour to be found in human tragedy; comedy can soften hard truths which makes them easier to reckon with and process – hence the album title. Comedian is essentially an analogy for using art to disarm what troubles you.
Embracing the multiplicity of ways to interpret the label ‘progressive’, WITHOUT WAVES have created an album that would nestle comfortably in the record collections of fans of both The Dillinger Escape Plan and Devin Townsend, Gojira and Porcupine Tree. Their dynamic, experimental take on heaviness is evocative, thought-provoking and unconventional. Comedian was self-produced alongside Rollin Weary, who also mixed the record, before it was mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege in Portland, OR.
For a band that has always been sonically heavy, WITHOUT WAVES have added an additional layer of intensity with Comedian, that adds emotional weight to what was already a crushing proposition.

Tokyo’s Thrash Heroes SURVIVE – active in the world for over 20 years – have forged their own indelible path within the jmetal scene. It was back in 1998, when former Death File guitarist and mastermind Nemo decided to form a thrash metal band of his own which soon became the juggernaut known as SURVIVE. Over the next two decades the band have played many big festivals (Loud Park, Beast Fest, Multiplex-motorbike event, Korean Live Rock, Formoz Festival, Asia Metal Festival, Dongducheon Rock Festival, Trendkill Extreme Feast, etc) and toured all over the world with acts such as Behemoth, United, Killswitch Engage, Dope, Pulling Teeth, Testament, Outrage, Anthrax, Hatebreed, Napalm Death, Amon Amarth, Venom Inc, At The Gates, to name just a few, cementing their place in Japanese metal history. Still going strong, SURVIVE‘s latest album “Immortal Warriors” was released to the Japanese market on September 12th, 2018 and a year later, on September 24th 2019, the album is out worldwide via Sliptrick Records. SURVIVE have lost none of their verve and “Immortal Warriors” is an absolute must for fans.
Cathartic black metal outfit GAEREA are now releasing a brand new drum play-through for the track, “Urge.” The song is taken from the band’s 2020 opus ‘Limbo,’ which was released in July 2020. The video, which was filmed at the Mouco Hotel in Portugal, can be seen at THIS LOCATION.

Rockshots Records is proud to announce their signing of Swedish goth rock/metal band OUTSHINE for the release of their new album “The Awakening” this coming May 2022. The band has released four previous studio albums since beginning in 2007 along with multiple US tours between 2005-2014, touring with Paradise Lost twice in Europe in 2013 and 2018 plus performing over 300 shows worldwide.
Outshine has always had a vision of darkness and melancholy in a visual landscape with dark tunes accompanying them ever since the very start when founder, guitarist, and vocalist Jimmy Boman started the band.
The new songs on “The Awakening” are produced by Jimmy Boman & Kenny Boufadene at Studio Meltdown, Sweden, and were recorded and re-recorded numerous times at Grand Recordings, Gothenburg, Sweden between 2015-2019. Final recordings were done in 2020 at Studio Meltdown, Kungsbacka, Sweden.
The band had this to say about the upcoming release: “Well, “The Awakening” is about what has happened in the world during the pandemic. Covid-19 times has taken a toll on the music world and showed that in troubling times the ones in power, the elites, don´t care about the common person. The lies, corruption, hidden agendas, and the rise of fascist behaviour from both unknown and known “leaders” that expands anything we´ve seen in decades are influencing and misleading people around the world making them turn on each other. A depraved glorification of the elite that hasn´t the common human being in mind has risen. Identity politics that put people in boxes to divide us, modern segregation in the making. Our “heroes” are lecturing us on how to think and behave despite that they are totally disconnected from the reality common people live in. This is in company with parts of the mainstream media, pushing society to silence, submission, and during the pandemic, financial disaster. The pandemic has clearly shown who gains and who is not. The poor and middle-class are getting poorer, the rich insanely rich and the politicians folding to comply to not be targeted.“
“The Awakening” will feature eight dark, melancholy, film noir-ish, heavy, and gloomy tracks with more of a Sisters Of Mercy, Paradise Lost & Type O Negative feel to it with influences from 1980’s horror movies soundscapes. The album will be supported with a few music videos that will have storytelling and show how everything is connected.
Boman adds: “The album’s first songs are about the dark side of the pandemic and then the other songs turn more to fighting back, realizing that you yourself need to wake up and open your eyes. The final songs are about we, the common people, need to unite and fight back. Should you trust everything that is said and shown in mainstream media and TV? The idea of this record is to get the listener deep into darkness and soul-searching to awake and open their eyes. I really hope they hear, see, and feel that now; finally, all pieces are in place for what Outshine should be all about. The videos we plan to present, the sound, the lyrics, are all in sync. And that they take the lyrics to heart since they are as important as a reflection on what has happened in society the last few years during the pandemic.“
