JIMBO’S GARAGE is a band that combines the hookiest elements of modern heavy rock and traditional hard rock. And now they have released their first single from the upcoming debut album.
The band’s main architect is the drummer Jimbo Mäkeläinen, former sticksman of Ironcross and Lordi. Vocalists on the single are Taage Laiho (Kilpi, Altaria, Mad Hatter’s Den) and Maya Liittokivi (Deathlike Silence). Guitars are played by Kari Riihimäki and bass by Jari Riitala.
Finnish symphonic doom/death metal band DEPRESSED MODE released a new single Death Walks Among Us. The track is taken from their upcoming third studio album Decade of Silence which is set to be released on May 6th 2022 via Inverse Records.
Vocalist Otto Salonen comment: “This song is the opening track of our upcoming album. I composed the song 12 years ago, right after our “..For Death” 2009 album. We recorded a demo of this song back in 2011, and after that the band went silent. I’m really happy that we recorded it for our new album, and hope you all like it as much as we do! It represents the more death metal side of our album.”
Recorded by Teemu Heinola and Otto Salonen at Ansa Studio Ulvila, Finland. Mixed by Teemu Heinola Mastered at Finnvox Studios Helsinki by Mika Jussila.

The kings of British death metal, INGESTED, are kicking of 2022 with the release of “Rebirth,” a taste from their upcoming album, slated for release this fall on Metal Blade Records. The track comes as the trio hit US shores this week supporting FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY through February.
“‘Rebirth’ has arrived at quite an important time for INGESTED. We’ve shed our skin and transformed into our next phase,” proclaims frontman Jason Evans. “We decided on a live video for the single as we’ve missed the bubbling intensity of playing live so much over the past year or so, we really wanted capture the destructive nature of an INGESTED show. Unchained, unleashed and unburdened, we’re ready to show the world what INGESTED is truly capable of, and to all our fans, thank you for sticking with us through the years, the best is yet to come!“
INGESTED formed in 2006 in Manchester, England and have since toured extensively with Cannibal Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder, Nile, Carnifex, Revocation, and have been seen on European festival stages including Summer Breeze Open Air. The band earned Billboard chart entries in 2018 with their album The Level Above Human, including: #5 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart, #30 Independent Albums, #16 Hard Rock Albums, #135 Top 200. The band saw chart action again with their 2020 release Where Only Gods May Tread including #4 Current Hard Music Albums, #10 Top new Artist Albums, #139 Billboard Top Albums and #15 on the UK Rock & Metal Albums, and #50 UK Independent Albums chart. With an already extensive release and touring history, INGESTED are eagerly anticipating an exciting new era as part of the Metal Blade Records roster.
16 years into their career, with original members Sean Hynes, Jason Evans & Lyn Jeffs, INGESTED made the exciting move to sign a new long-term deal with Metal Blade Records in 2021. Evans adds, “Metal Blade Records is a legendary label, with a roster of legendary artists and we are very proud to say that INGESTED will now stand amongst them. We’re super excited about this next step in our journey and can’t wait to bring you more music, more videos and more shows, worldwide. Here comes the Metal Blade era of INGESTED!“
Last week the British metalers kicked of their US tour with Fit For An Autopsy, Enterprise Earth, Signs of the Swarm and Great American Ghost. European dates begin March 18 in Birmingham, UK and conclude April 10 in Paris, France. Summer festival shows are also scheduled.

ABHORIA have premiered Sunless – the third single to be taken from their upcoming self-titled debut album – and its accompanying music video via Decibel Magazine. Sunless‘ visual was produced by Chariot of Black Moth, setting ABHORIA‘s dystopian black metal to disquieting black and white footage of barren wastelands and forlorn figures.
Sunless will be available to stream via all platforms on January 14. Abhoria is due out on February 4 via Prosthetic Records – pre-order the album here.
Speaking on the premiere, Vor (guitars) comments: “While the majority of our debut album is primarily rooted in aggressive black metal, Sunless closes things on a more epic note. This track was written to evoke the hopelessness of the dystopian landscape on which the album is built. I feel like Sunless goes hand in hand with Adam Burke’s cover art: you can imagine desperate people slogging through an unrelenting wasteland in the vain hope that they’ll find salvation.”
ABHORIA recorded their debut album remotely, with each member contributing their elements from afar. In fact, the band only met up – and played together – after the album had been recorded. The record was engineered, mixed and mastered by Shane Howard (Martriden, Helleborus) at Sawn & Quartered Studios; Shane was able to capture the raw brutality of the band, but with a layer of slick, modern metal production. A final visual flourish came courtesy of the distinctive cover artwork by fan-favorite Adam Burke.
ABHORIA’s modern take on a classic genre relies less on traditional black metal tropes and leans toward capturing the bleak landscape of an unforgiving world in sonic form. Through their lyrical storytelling, the band explores the darkest corners of the human psyche across the album’s unrelenting eight tracks. First single, Mountebank, focuses on a con artist offering the promise of a better life for only a “small sacrifice…”. Unevangelized looks at a despondent group fighting back against those offering “salvation” through religion. Grave Expectations explores a mysterious benefactor who lures people in only to hunt them for game.
ABHORIA invite you to discard your preconceptions of the genre, and embrace a take on black metal that reflects the relentless bleakness of a world not far from our own.
HOLLIS BROWN recreate The Rolling Stones’ Seminal First Original Album, ‘In The Aftermath’, out February 4th via Mascot Label Group/Cool Green Recordings.
Watch below Hollis Brown performing “Under My Thumb” live-in-studio.
The deliciously depraved outcome of an all-night rock n’ roll riot, ‘In The Aftermath’ follows the release of Hollis Brown’s ‘Gets Loaded,’ saluting Velvet Underground’s Loaded.
Hollis Brown’s upcoming album, ‘In The Aftermath,’ is the deliciously depraved outcome of an all-night rock n’ roll riot. The Queens, New York-based quintet escaped to the Poconos to record with a few handles of whiskey, and, in one 24-hour session, ran down the Stone’s seminal first album of all originals, 1966’s ‘Aftermath.’ Tracked live in the studio with minimal overdubs, ‘In The Aftermath’ is potent proof the five-piece group is one of the last great American rock n’ roll bands. The album will be released on February 4th via Mascot Label Group/Cool Green Recordings.
“It was a whirlwind recording session—we were on no sleep, and getting liquored up. You can definitely hear the looseness on that final track, ‘Going Home,’” singer-guitarist Mike Montali recalls, laughing. He continues: “We weren’t focused on cleanliness—we were after a feeling.”
Coming on the heels of their most successful studio album to-date – 2019’s Ozone Park, which earned rave reviews from Rolling Stone, Billboard, Paste Magazine, Pop Matters, Relix, and Goldmine – ‘In The Aftermath’ was an artistic inevitable for Hollis Brown. Previously, Hollis Brown issued, ‘Gets Loaded,’ saluting Velvet Underground’s ‘Loaded.’ The five-piece band enjoyed doing the VU album so much they began to joke about doing a “Hollis Brown presents…” series, covering formative records in their artistic continuum.
‘Aftermath’ became the Stones album to dive into for a myriad of reasons. For one, it’s become something of a lost classic as it’s the first album to contain all Stones originals, including the defining track, “Paint It Black.” Also, many of the songs are concise ultra-catchy rock n’ roll rave-ups that mine similar blues and country roots to Hollis Brown’s own signature aesthetic.
Yet, on ‘In The Aftermath,’ Hollis Brown doesn’t try to out-Stones the Stones. Instead, they find clever ways to salute the Stones legacy. For the first album single, “Under My Thumb,” they distill the track down to a punky snarl inspired by the lean and mean ‘Some Girls’ album. Hollis Brown turn in a faithful reading of “Dontcha Bother Me” replete with Muddy Waters-approved slide guitar, seething vocals, and lonesome harmonica. The guys bravely tackle “Paint It Black,” and harness the ominous power of the track through swapping its classic, world-music perspective for a muscular guitar-rock approach. Here, the drums are essentialized down to an infectious garage-rock beat that perfectly aligns with the burly guitar riffage.
Hollis Brown has amassed an engaged fanbase through touring tirelessly, making its way through the U.S. and Europe, both on their own and supporting the likes of Citizen Cope, Counting Crows, Jackie Greene, Jesse Malin, and the Zombies, among others. The guys pinched the band name from the Bob Dylan song, “Ballad of Hollis Brown,” and its moniker neatly epitomizes the group’s commitment to melding a signature Americana blend with fine song-craft. Hollis Brown will perform select sets of ‘In The Aftermath’ on its upcoming February and March tour – and inspiration from the album’s freewheeling recording sessions will definitely impact the band’s next album of all originals which is mostly written.
“Making this record sent us back to the drawing board,” Mike reveals. “It was about going back to the essence of American roots music—blues and country—which is a tradition our band was founded upon.”

Formed by Irishman Brendan Sheehy, who left his home-town of Dublin and headed to Sweden with a guitar and a dream – to put together the most amazing band possible.
Boasting songs that bring together everything from the issues of modern day society to finding the right bar on a Saturday night, powered by strong melodies and irresistible energy. Add to the mix an explosive live show and it’s easy to see why, SIR REG have a formidable reputation in the Celtic punk and rock scene. Since the fledging band burst onto the scene in 2009 they have released five critically acclaimed albums and have performed on many of Europe’s biggest stages alongside bands like The Mahones, The Misfits, Thin Lizzy and The Real McKenzies.
2022 sees the band return with album number six, the quite remarkable ‘Kings of Sweet Feck All’. On which the band continue to stand with those struggling to make their voices and their opinions heard, bolstered by songs of grit and passion, without ever losing sight of the underdog spirit.
First new single is called ‘Open The Pubs‘ and is released January 14 on Despotz Records. Here’s the band’s comment on the restrictions-linked topic: – “If anyone told you a few years ago that pubs would be closed for months on end, you’d think they were having a laugh! Was no laughing matter indeed! That delicious pint of Guinness your favourite bartender pulled for you was suddenly taken away and you could only dream about it midst the ongoing nightmare!” // SIR REG
