GLASYA have released a video for the song ‘From Enemy to Hero’ – the first single taken from the second album ‘Attarghan’, set to be released on February 18th, and featuring Temperance’s Marco Pastorino on vocals.
“‘From Enemy to Hero’ it’s about redemption: as humans we do make mistakes, but we need to have the will to solve them and the strength to build a better tomorrow. We could be an enemy yesterday, but today we can be somebody’s hero!” – Glasya
Following their latest magnum opus, Oscillation (2019), Swedish post-rock masters OH HIROSHIMA have returned with their fourth studio album, Myriad, slated for release on March 4, 2022 via Napalm Records. Due to pandemic lockdowns, the band channeled all of their time and creativity into delivering an epic successor, unquestionably raising the bar and excelling with grandeur!
It’s a mixture of emotions – from infinite sadness to moments of clarity and heart-rending melodies blending into a rumbling volcano of aesthetic noise and ferocious power, but also the unique use of trumpets, cello and trombones throughout – that sees OH HIROSHIMA outclass and grow renowned not only in post-rock circles, but beyond. In comparison to previous works, the band incorporates more influences from various genres, causing each track to stand out from the next. This phenomenon is perfectly emphasized on the beautifully crafted first single “Humane”. Building into a mesmerizing aura, the track explodes into a sonic ascension of grace and breathtaking power!
Band mastermind Jakob Hemström says: “‘Humane’ might be the most direct and intense song we’ve created as a band. For us it marks a somewhat new direction that we wanted to explore and we’re very proud of how it turned out. We felt right away that this was the first song of the new album we wanted our listeners to hear. The lyrics revolve around themes of human hubris and the video was filmed, directed and edited by our drummer, Oskar.”
Upon becoming a duo due to former bassist Simon Forsberg departing the band in early 2021, OH HIROSHIMA were provided a challenging chance to step up their songwriting game. There is still a hefty dose of post-rock to be heard on Myriad, but brothers Jakob Hemström and Oskar Nilsson managed to kick down the creative walls of the band, making use of a much broader musical palette.
Recorded by Kristian Karlsson (pg.lost, Cult Of Luna), and once again mixed and mastered by Cult Of Luna’s Magnus Lindberg, with Myriad, OH HIROSHIMA demonstrate outstanding ability – melding captivating melody with epic, fulminating fervency, and delivering a majestic masterpiece that will undoubtedly be an early album of the year contender!
Theatrical metal opera production DIAMORTE have released the video for their new single “Where The Light Grows Cold.” Drake Mefestta talking about the new single, “We can’t wait for you to hear this absolute BEHEMOTH of a track featuring the Budapest Scoring Orchestra and the international cast of DiAmorte. Trust us when we say you’ve never heard something quite like this before, and that’s a promise.”
The talent involved in creating the song and video is amazing. Drake Mefestta discusses what it was like working with all the talent on this song, “A book unto itself is required to give the worthy amount of praise to each talent that bled themselves into this. This song journeyed around the world both in music as well video alike. Regardless of future accolades DiAmorte may achieve, still I see myself as a black-clad teenager with a stock keyboard and rather insane dream. To then presently work directly with individuals I once listened to and previously inspired by in younger years is a joy without measure. I myself, am nothing more that part of something far greater than myself, collectively carried by those I’m privileged to call colleges and even more-so, friends and family. All the imagination means little if a skillful hand cannot articulate and translate. It is my hope the music will speak to the talent and collective efforts more vividly than anything I can produce. For all those that contributed towards this mad endeavor, thank you for making a fool’s dream a worthwhile reality.”
DiAmorte has caught the eye of Blackie Lawless, legendary founder and lead singer of W.A.S.P., “This is seriously impressive. There’s a ton of eye candy. The guy’s in it have star power.”

The band stated: “Eventough we have started promoting and releasing from our new album ‘Tales Of Rune’ which is currently in the works we thought we’d release a new music video for the Norse Pagan Folk Rock track to highlight that side of our catalog.”
The story behind the track… Baldr, the brightest of all and the son of Odin met his untimely demise when the blind God Höd, deceived by the trickster Loki, killed him by hitting him with a mistletoe tipped arrow, the only thing that could hurt the invincible God. Australian metallers LORD have kicked off 2022 with a bang, releasing their “Blood Red Skies” EP, featuring a cover of the JUDAS PRIEST classic of the same name, as well as a recent cover of IRON MAIDEN‘s “Stratego“.
Commented bass player Andy Dowling: “2021 was a big year for cover songs with the release of Undercovers Vol.1 and while we did originally vow to not do any more cover songs for the foreseeable future, here we are! This was a bit of a last minute release and some fun to celebrate what was a big year for LORD. We also think its a great way also kick off 2022 with a quick little tribute to two of the metal kings in Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. We hope this will keep our friends entertained while we continue to work on new LORD music for later this year.”
The full EP, exclusive to Bandcamp, comes with the IRON MAIDEN cover of Stratego which was previously a YouTube only release, Wilder Than the Wind (Dicks Out Mix) being a bonus track from the 2019 studio album Fallen Idols, as well as a half hour podcast chat between Andy and LT, talking about the release, 2021 in review and plans for new music.
You can listen to Blood Red Skies and Stratego on Spotify and Apple Music. The full EP with limited edition CD and exclusive merchandise can be found on the bands Bandcamp store.
Blood Red Skies can be originally found on the Judas Priest 1988 release Ram it Down. Stratego can be originally found on the Iron Maiden 2021 release Senjutsu.
LORD is essentially a continuation of DUNGEON, one of Australia’s longest-running heavy metal bands, with over a dozen releases so far. LORD’s 2021 release “Undercovers Vol.1” debuted at #7 on the Australian ARIA charts and #1 on the Australian Independent Records chart. This eclipsed the band’s 2019 full length album “Fallen Idols” that debuted at #20 and #2 respectfully.
