Kivisydän invites their listeners into a world where fragility and strength coexist, where the weight of sorrow is both crushing and cathartic. Melodic, symphonic metal meets powerful vocals and lyrics that delve deep into sorrow, despair, and pain – but ultimately also hope.
The band that was started in 2022, are now releasing their debut album ”Kuoleva Aurinko” (translates into “Dying Sun”). The album was mixed by Heikki Marttila / Guru Studio and mastered by Miro Kiiski / Miromastering.
“We’re really satisfied with the album, it came out really great and can’t wait to share it with everyone. The album will be very versatile musically. It has fast songs with a lot of things happening, and slower songs that have very minimalistic instrumentals. It has long, complex songs and shorter and more straight-forward ones. It can be regarded as a theme album, and the theme is one person’s life story with all its gruesome and dark phases and details.
If you like dark, melancholic, symphonic and melody-filled metal, you should definitely check us out!” — Kivisydän
MASON HILL release their huge new single ‘Remember‘, the first music to feature new vocalist and frontman Tom Ward, and the first opportunity for fans to hear the path the band are now taking, one that sees a darker turn both lyrically and sonically, loaded with emotion and powered forward by an intense, brooding and contemporary edge.
‘Remember‘ sees Mason Hill return in spectacular style, adding more dynamics and depth than ever before, assisted in no small measure by the production of Dan Weller (Enter Shikari, Bury Tomorrow, Those Damn Crows)
James Bird (guitar) says: “The new tune ‘Remember’ is dark, it’s heavy and it embodies the direction we’re headed. We can’t wait to blow the roof off our sold-out London and Glasgow shows with this new track. They are both going to be nights to Remember!”
Matt Ward (bass) says: “We have loved exploring the heavier side of Mason Hill with Dan Weller on production duties. These recordings are sounding absolutely massive and are so much fun to play. We can’t wait to get back on stage with these , and I’m absolutely buzzing to reveal all the things we have planned.”
‘Remember‘ is just the first step on the road to a new album from Mason Hill, half of which has already been recorded, and the remainder of which will be captured during further sessions with Weller in November. Expect an early 2026 release for the as-yet-untitled full length. With two ‘comeback’ shows in London and Glasgow selling out in 24 hours, it’s clear that the band’s fanbase is still very much with them.
Four years after ‘Against the Wall’ made such an impact, Mason Hill is re-entering the fray with renewed intent, showcasing a freshly updated sound and presentation. New guy Tom Ward states; “Joining Mason Hill has been transformational for me – 12 months of hard graft, anticipation and gearing up to tear up the stage. Together we’ve been creating an album which is raw, powerful and pure Mason Hill.”
This line up feels like a huge step forward for the Glasgow-based band, and with good reason. While the core of Mason Hill is the same as the band that made ‘Against The Wall’ – James plus guitarist Marc Montgomery, bassist Matt Ward and drummer Craig McFetridge – their new music marks the introduction of new singer Ward, whose versatile voice brings different dimensions to Mason Hill’s signature sound as he switches from emotive whisper to arena-rattling power in a heartbeat.
“We’re still Mason Hill, but in some ways, it feels like we’re a brand-new band,” says James of their new configuration. “With Tom in the line-up, we’ve got a new energy.” “Coming into this band at this point has been a dream,” adds Tom. “We hit it off from the start, and we discovered we’ve brought new things out in each other as writers. The new songs we’ve written so far are just amazing.”
Mason Hill have been no strangers to adversity over their 10-year existence. They’ve endured false starts, botched record deals and a six-year gap between 2015’s eponymous debut EP and the release of ‘Against The Wall’. Even the latter landed during the height of the Covid pandemic, meaning the band weren’t initially able to tour in support of it. The departure of former singer Scott Taylor at the end of 2023 was just the latest obstacle they had to overcome.
“There have been times over the years when we weren’t even sure we’d be able to keep on being a band,” says James. “Even just before Tom came in, we were so close to saying, ‘Well, we tried, but let’s call it a day.’ But there’s a stubbornness and determination and passion in us that has kept us going. The new music was obviously still Mason Hill, but we didn’t want it to be a copy of the first album,” says James. “When Tom put his voice to some of the demos we’d sent, that was when we knew this could work.” “It feels like a turning point,” says Tom of this new chapter, of which he’s a key part. “We’re super-hungry for it.” “All the good stuff and the bad stuff, I’m glad it happened in a sense,” adds James. “Because without it we wouldn’t be in this place we’re in right now, talking about new songs, which I couldn’t be more excited about. We’re so ready to get back out there. This is who we are now. This is Mason Hill.“
Mason Hillkick off their new era at the following shows this November; both of which are now sold out: 27th November – London, Camden Assembly 29th November – Glasgow, The Cathouse

The self-titled album by Khroma, their fourth, sees the Helsinki-borne quintet at their most diverse: from straight-up death and groove metal passages to full-fledged grime, electro and trip hop, the band expands the boundaries of their electronic alternative metal. From the turbocharged opener “Abattoir (Chosen)” through the relentless rap skit “NPCs” to the complex, album-closing “Carnivorous”, “Khroma” is a limitlessly heavy album not chasing mundane genre thrills.
After amassing tens of millions of streams, shaking the charts, touring with bands like From Ashes To New, Asking Alexandria, and Skillet, and performing with 30 Seconds to Mars, all the while earning critical acclaim from Loudwire and New Noise Magazine, EVA UNDER FIRE return with the riveting and demon-conquering “Awakening.” Out since yesterday (October 17), it’s the first taste of new music in two years from the Detroit, MI quintet, signaling perhaps that this could be the start of a new album campaign.
“Awakening” is a blistering and inspirational anthem from Amanda Lyberg (vocals), Rob Lyberg (lead guitar), Chris Slapnik (rhythm guitar), Ed Gawlik (bass), and Dave Miller II (drums). “The guys and I are stoked about the upcoming album,” proclaims Amanda, whose gutsy vocals spectacularly cut through the raging guitars. “These songs are everything we wanted to write. We made sure it was the most honest version of our story. ‘Awakening’ is an anthem about conquering personal demons. The rest of the album is what it took to get there. It’s also a story packaged in the heaviest riffs we’ve ever played so I think listeners will be pleasantly surprised. Cheers to the new era!”
EVA UNDER FIRE are committed to delivering music that confronts fears, anxieties, traumas, and the past head-on. The bandamplify this kind of open-hearted honesty through tightly crafted and transformational hard rock anthems. They’ve tirelessly grinded out of the Midwest and built a faithful following by delivering raw and relatable truth without filter.
“We’ve slept in Walmart parking lots, and we still tour in a van,” says singer Amanda Lyberg. “The first album cycle was a reflection of what we like to call our ‘Detroit Grit.’ It allows us to find a way against a lot of odds. You have to really work to make it out of here.”
For “Awakening” and all their new music, Amanda drew on her career as a licensed therapist to foster an open dialogue among the band members, empowering everyone to be heard during the recording. Her work in therapy started in 2018 when she graduated with a Master of Arts in Psychology degree and went on to work at a mental health clinic in Detroit, Transcendence Behavioral Health (owned by Dr. Stephanie Williams). That same year, her father passed away due to a fentanyl overdose. Her mother survived the same batch that killed her father, and she’s been sober for the past six years. In addition to her thriving and busy music career, Amanda is currently a practicing psychotherapist specializing in trauma work, grief and loss, and addiction recovery.
Her story turned into a 2023 short film, “My Rockstar,” which used EVA UNDER FIRE music throughout, and has won over 20 awards in several film fests including Orlando Film Fest, Wild Rivers Film Festival, Toronto WILD film Festival, and many others.
Lauded as one of Sirius XM’s 2023 “Ones To Watch,” EVA UNDER FIRE released their critically acclaimed debut album, LOVE, DRUGS & MISERY via Better Noise Music in 2022. Its deluxe version includes the Top 20 Active Rock radio-charting single “Unstoppable” featuring country/rock artist Cory Marks. They’ve toured across the globe with acts including Bush, Bad Wolves, Pop Evil, Skillet, and Finger Eleven, while also appearing at some of rock’s biggest festivals including Aftershock, Inkcarceration, and Rock Fest. They will next hit the stage at Rocklahoma on August 30.
EVA UNDER FIRE substantially expanded their fanbase following their featured appearance in the horror-thriller The Retaliators (Better Noise Films) and the inclusion of their single “Blow (ft. Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills)” on the film’s soundtrack. Their single “Heroin(e)” was also featured on the soundtrack for the 2020 film Sno Babies (Better Noise Films), which has over 65M global total streams. “Heroin(e)” has a combined total of over six million global streams, while “Blow (ft.Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills)” has over 41.6M global total streams.

Finnish thrashers Krushor are set to release their debut EP ‘Taste of Hatred’ on January 9th 2026 via Inverse Records. The first single ‘Shockwave’ accompanied by lyric video is unleashed today and it’s available here: https://push.fm/fl/krushor-shockwave
The band comments: “Shockwave is about war, its madness, and maybe, fittingly for the times, a bit about why wars are fought, who starts them, and who benefits from them. In war, there are no winners at least not for us poor folks. I don’t like to politicize things, but in these times, wars are too present, and you can always write a song about how horrifying they are.”
-Composed by Joni Kärsämä, Juho Mattila, Saku Hirvimäki, Sami Keränen -Lyrics by Ville Lehtoranta -Arranged by Krushor -ISRC: FI3FC2595901
The band found its current identity through shared musical tastes, playing together, and a shared hobby. We are a group of people who enjoy making and playing music that works for all of us. A big part of this is that composing, writing lyrics, and editing songs is open to everyone. All songs and compositions are created by the whole group, not based on one person’s vision or goal.
Our influences definitely come from older metal, but that doesn’t matter, because mixing genres actually adds a lot to our music; there’s no one right way to do things. Krushor’s goal is to make music that sounds good and at the same time talk about the difficult things that are part of life. For many people, music can be therapeutic, and if even one person feels that way about our music, we feel we have succeeded.
