Memphis heshers Namazu return with ‘ICE 800′– the thunderous title track from their upcoming EP – out now via Golden Robot Records.
A savage cocktail of pummeling drums, guttural basslines, and razor-edged riffs, ‘ICE 800’ hits like a warm tallboy on a midnight highway. Gritty, unapologetic, and oozing attitude, this is the perfect track for a late-night drive, accompanied by your favorite malt liquor and choice of smokes. Put on your finest tank top, tear up the road in cutoff Dickies, and let Namazu provide the soundtrack to your summer chaos.
As the title track from their new EP, ‘ICE 800’ sets the tone for what’s to come – a no-frills, high-octane dose of raw, unfiltered power. For fans of heavy riffs and dirt-under-the-nails rock energy, this one’s essential listening.
ICE 800 is the upcoming EP by Memphis heshers NAMAZU to be released later this year. Recorded and mixed by Alan Burchum (Deadbird, Korroded, Autolith) and Mastered by Ryan Boesch (Fu Manchu, Whores, Foo Fighters, Norma Jean), the EP is 15 blistering minutes of pure riffage, taking their cues from the three blacks—Black Sabbath, Black Flag, and the Man in Black. NAMAZU deliver five songs of heavy riffs and shout along choruses.

Celebrated Canadian Roots Rock band The Commoners return to the UK in December 2025 for 10-date headline tour. Planet Rock’s 48–hour ticket pre-sale starts 10am on Wednesday 9 July. Pre-sale tickets are available from PlanetRock.com.
“The UK has become a second home for us,” says the Commoners bassist, Ben Spiller. “Over the last few years, we’ve had the pleasure of rocking dozens of shows over the course of five unforgettable UK tours and festivals.
To coincide with the announcement of the December tour, The Commoners release their new single “Too Soon To Know You” available to stream on Spotify and YouTube.
“The new single is a reflection on the fleeting nature of connection, and the bittersweet feeling of having had someone in your life when the timing wasn’t quite right to make the connection last,” says The Commoners drummer, Adam Cannon.
“We wanted to capture that fragile moment when everything feels both urgent and uncertain. Recording it was a real collaborative effort — we tracked live off the floor and layered it with raw vocals and textured guitars and organ to evoke that sense of vulnerability.”
“The song is about the human tendency to cling to what might have been and the hope that, maybe, there’s still a chance to understand each other before it’s too late.”
The news of the new single and December UK tour follows the release of The Commoners – Live in the UK album available on CD and vinyl HERE, and digitally HERE. Featuring nine explosive live tracks to get you on your feet, the live album includes Commoners anthems with added parts, extended sections, performed live on the band’s 2024 UK tour.

Acclaimed British hard rock band, Wytch Hazel, today releases its new album, ‘V: Lamentations‘, on July 4 via Bad Omen Records (Pøltergeist, Satan’s Satyrs). Recorded with longtime producer Ed Turner (The Ettes, Heavy Trash, Purson), ‘Lamentations‘ delivers uplifting, powerful heavy music, rife with a Maidenesque jubilance, that builds on the momentum of the band’s lush catalog, including the LPs ‘Prelude‘, ‘II: Sojourn‘, ‘III: Pentecost‘ and 2023’s ‘IV: Sacrament‘, a record hailed as “gloriously bright heavy metal” which landed at #15 on Billboard’s Top New Artists Albums in its first week of release. Purchase ‘V: Lamentations‘ at this location.
In celebration of the new LP’s release, Wytch Hazel drops a video for the Sabbathian new track, “The Citadel“, created by Wild Stag Studio and edited by Ben Liepelt. Flirting with the downcast profundity of Black Sabbath, the yearning mandolin melodies, imploringly epic hooks, plaintive harmonies, and solemn medieval atmosphere of “The Citadel” make it one of Wytch Hazel‘s most affecting tunes.
“The Citadel” is a song about feeling left out, feeling not good enough which is in stark contrast to the words on our other new song, “Woven“, which say “you are enough“, offers vocalist/guitarist Colin Hendra. “We’re all multifaceted as humans and I think it’s normal for this to be reflected in the art we produce. Each song takes on its own character, often guided by the direction of the lyrics. It’s also always fun to have a slower song that still feels heavy and a bit “Heaven and Hell!“.
Led by Hendra, Wytch Hazel is a singular source of hard rock/heavy metal dominion. The quartet have continually underscored and bolstered a signature sound rooted in heroic days of yore, finessed to an elegant apex. The fifth Wytch Hazel album is overflowing with indelible earworms the likes of which must be heard to be believed. And believe, you shall.
“I believe things have meanings and significance,” Hendra emphasizes. “Music isn’t just a self-indulgent, entertainment thing, for me it’s a huge part of my life, very special, very magical and very meaningful. I want Wytch Hazel to be a force for good, a healing power.”
‘V: Lamentations‘ track listing: 01. I Lament 02. Run the Race 03. The Citadel (stream video) 04. Elements (stream video) 05. The Demon Within 06. Racing Forwards 07. Elixir 08. Woven (stream visualizer) 09. Heavy Load 10. Healing Power
Over time, Wytch Hazel‘s indelible sound has caught the ear of many of today’s tastemaker indie platforms, with the quartet being hailed as “the most badass Christian metal outfit out there today” by Invisible Oranges, while the band and its music lauded as “a hard-rocking, foot-stomping good time” by MetalSucks, “powerful and emotive” by Heavy Music HQ, “one of the hookiest bands around” by Angry Metal Guy, and “excellent rock” by Nine Circles, while Metal Injection pegged Wytch Hazel as a band to watch as part of its “Lesser-Known Modern Heavy Metal Bands You Need In Your Life” hot list.
The first track released from ‘Lamentations‘ is the galloping “Woven“, a shining example of Wytch Hazel‘s avant-garde songcraft. “Woven” radiates a wholesome rustic charm tempered with pensive melancholy, its scrupulous simplicity belying its ability to continue blossoming with every spin. Stream “Woven” now at this location.
“On “Woven”, in particular, you can hear us locking in and playing off each other in the room” says Hendra of this crafty singalong. “I really wanted to write a heavy rock song about sensitivity and gentleness which you don’t hear too much of really. There’s this section where it goes quiet after the lyrics “be sensitive” then a big guitar solo comes in where I try my best to shred and let it all loose“. This heavenly lead, initially improvised, then had to be slowed down and meticulously relearnt.
Wytch Hazel has also released a video for its new song, “Elements“. With concentrated shades of Blue Öyster Cult circa Fire Of Unknown Origin, “Elements” has a bright, buoyant bounce and effervescent surge to warm the coldest heart, its sweet solo blending hummable melodic ingenuity with spontaneous flair. Stream “Elements” now at this location.
“Elements is a nod to both 70’s FM radio rock and bands who experimented with interesting and progressive ideas such as BÖC and Kansas,” offers vocalist/guitarist Colin Hendra. “Lyrically, I really enjoyed playing around with the concept of weather and how powerful and beyond the control of man it is. It felt like a challenge at the time, and a little out of my comfort zone, but I’m extremely happy with the song as a whole. It feels cohesive now the time has been spent on it“.
It’s these deeply personal lyrics, coming from a place of faith and conviction, which make Wytch Hazel stand out further from the modern herd; although we’ve been bombarded with the hip diabolism of the ‘occult rock‘ revival for the past two decades, no other band has dared to offer the other side of the story. Lest any heathen headbanger start to fear any kind of evangelical conversion agenda, Hendra expands on his position: “Music is created for all, it’s a common grace for everyone,” he affirms, “which is why the music that shows the glory of God the most, in my opinion, is not music created by Christians. It’s Black Sabbath, you know!“
In addition to vocalist/guitarist Colin Hendra, Wytch Hazel features Alex Haslam (guitar), Andy Shackleton (bass) and Aaron Hay (drums). Follow the band on Facebook and Instagram.

AKHLYS was formed 2009 by Naas Alcameth (NIGHTBRINGER, AORATOS, BESTIA ARCANA) as a musical expression for the inexplicable visions, journeys and phenomena that occur in liminal lands between slumber and awakening. Initially exploring these concepts via Dark Ambient in debut “Supplication” (2009) and then haunting Black Metal through lauded follow-up “The Dreaming I” (2015), Alcameth has once again reified and rarefied this vision, giving rise to a third and crowning work, “Melinoë“, which was released in December 2020.
Earning widespread acclaim for their live performances, AKHLYS secured a partnership with Parasite Gallows Booking in 2022. Amidst numerous tours and festival appearances in Europe, Israel, Latin America and the United States, the recent years have also witnessed the crafting of new compositions destined for the band’s fourth album. Titled “House of the Black Geminus,” this much-anticipated release was released July 5th, 2024.

When I was a teenager, I decided to follow Jesus and since then it has been a calling on my life to share His love through music. I am very thankful to be able to do that and to be a part of this band”.
“We’ve been inspired by bands like Skillet, Flyleaf, and Stryper. God has done so much for us and continues to make a way when there seems to be no way”, she added.

Wanikiya Record is proud to announce that MAYSNOW have joined the Wanikiya Record/Promotion roster — one of the most original and intense projects in the Italian alternative and post-progressive scene!
Founded by Daniele Rini (Silvered, Ghost of Mary) in memory of his friend Mimmo Angelini, Maysnow was born from a deep creative urge, transforming pain into music — a cure for inner darkness. Alongside guitarist Roberto Vergallo (co-founder and former member of Silvered), the project immediately took on a visceral and authentic form. Over time, it was enriched by the arrival of bassist Nicola Lezzi (ex-Ghost of Mary), and more recently drummer Graziano Marra (ex-NonToccateMiranda), completing the official lineup.
Their second album, “A Dream Within A Dream”, released in 2024 by Sleaszy Rider Records, is a stunning rock/metal work that blends dark, grunge, progressive, post-metal atmospheres with modern djent influences — all while maintaining the acoustic sensitivity that has always distinguished the band.
The record features prestigious collaborations with Daniel Cavanagh (Anathema, Weather Systems), Ragnar Zolberg (Sign, ex-Pain of Salvation), and the expert production of Daniel Cardoso (Anathema, Weather Systems), who also handled the mixing and mastering.
On July 14, 2025, MAYSNOW will release their new single: “HARE (Extended Version)”, a new edition of the track featured on A Dream Within A Dream.
This new version includes a brand-new introduction and has been completely remixed and remastered by Daniel Cardoso, giving the track greater sonic depth and an even more powerful and engaging impact.
With this single, a brand-new chapter officially begins — a journey that will see Wanikiya Record/Promotion and Ossidiana join forces in the international promotion of the full album A Dream Within A Dream, bringing MAYSNOW’s music to the entire world!
