Noble Demon has just signed Finnish melodic death/doom metal phenomenon MARIANAS REST.
“With genre masters and compatriots Kaunis Kuolematon, Dawn of Solace, The Man-Eating Tree, Red Moon Architect and Grain of Pain on the roster, adding MARIANAS REST from Kotka, Finland to the Noble family feels like finally adding a missing cornerstone piece to the sonic puzzle.” says Noble Demon A&R and co-founder Patrick Walch about the latest addition to the German Record Label, founded in 2019.
And he continues: “The next chapter of this grounbreaking act of melancholy and mayhem takes the sextet even further on their endeavor to become the most unique force of scandinavian metal of the past 15 years.”
The band adds: ”We are really impressed with the passion we see in the people at Noble Demon. We see this collaboration as a very fruitful soil for spreading the disease. Let’s raise our glasses, maintain grave expressions and enjoy the ride.”
Wormholedeath is proud to announce the signing of Greek alternative metal powerhouse THIS I OWE for the reissue of their debut full-length album, “Alchemists”.
Hailing from Athens, Greece, THIS I OWE is a dynamic band that fuses alternative metal with elements of prog, doom, and gothic metal. With their emotionally charged sound and genre-defying compositions, the band has quickly carved out a name for themselves as one of the most compelling new acts in the Greek metal scene.
“Signing with Wormholedeath has been one of the largest steps we’ve taken toward extending our reach and audience,” the band states. “We truly appreciate the opportunity and the excellent communication with the team. We’re excited to see what this partnership brings.”
Conceptually, Alchemists delves deep into the universal experience of grief. The album follows a protagonist as they navigate the stages of loss, mourning the death of hope, their Queen of Hearts. From sorrow and anger to reflection and eventual acceptance, Alchemists is both a personal journey and a cathartic, sonic ritual.
The album includes all previously released singles, including the fan-favorite “Queen of Hearts” and the critically praised “Isobel,” a haunting noir-gothic hybrid hailed by fans and critics alike.
Originally released a few months ago, Alchemists marked a major creative milestone for the band. Since 2023, they’ve been igniting stages with explosive live shows throughout Athens, Thessaloniki, and across Greece. Now, with a worldwide re-release set through Wormholedeath, the band is ready to elevate Alchemists to an even broader audience.
Flamboyant German chart-toppers LORD OF THE LOST unveil “Ghosts” – the awe-inspiring new single from their upcoming studio album, OPVS NOIR Vol. 1, out August 8, 2025 via Napalm Records! The Hamburg-based outfit is joined by none other than world-renowned cellist Tina Guo, celebrated for her electrifying performances with Hans Zimmer and collaborations with heavy acts such as Kamelot, Beyond the Black and Sabaton. This haunting piece of art expands the sonic universe of the genre-defying band even further, fusing dark metal with theatrical finesse and profound emotional depth.
“Ghosts” is more profound proof of LORD OF THE LOST’s ever-evolving soundscape – a testament to their ability to constantly uncover new angles while staying true to their roots. Following the era-defining success of their #1 album Blood & Glitter(Official German Album Charts) and their celebrated appearance in the finals of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, LORD OF THE LOST continue to push boundaries with unmatchable versatility. OPVS NOIR Vol. 1 is the first album of an exciting album trilogy, featuring several strictly limited special editions – pre-order your copy of OPVS NOIR Vol. 1and act fast, as the first formats are already selling out!
Tina Guo about the collaboration: “Working with LORD OF THE LOST on ‘Ghosts’ has been an incredibly inspiring and fun experience. The entire creative process flowed beautifully, and it was a true joy to create art with such talented and wonderful individuals. I especially loved the cello battling with Chris! Their passion and vision made every moment memorable, and filming the music video together created an unforgettable energy and synergy.”
Chris Harms adds: “Tina Guo is not only a phenomenal cellist, but also one of the most wonderful and inspiring people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting in the music industry. Performing this song with her—and even playing the cello together—was incredible, both in the studio and during the video shoot. But I can’t wait to have her on stage with us live someday!”
What is the essence of LORD OF THE LOST in 2025? That is one of the questions OPVS NOIR Vol. 1 fearlessly begins to answer. Once again, the band proves not only musical excellence but also masterful craftsmanship: produced by Chris Harms, recorded, mixed, and mastered at the legendary CHAMELEON STUDIOS in Hamburg, the 11 tracks hit with a force and brilliance that immediately transport us into a dark yet colorful ballroom. From there, the tone is set: Dark Wave Metal on an amphitheater scale.
Chris Harms about the album: “Darkness, melancholy, loneliness – all words that often have negative connotations, that we may associate with danger, sadness and loss, and not without reason. But darkness can also be security, melancholy the warm and sentimental feeling of our memories, and loneliness becomes necessary silence, peace and inner contemplation. OPVS NOIR is a travel guide, or perhaps also a travelogue, through the dark sides of our inner world, which so often move precisely in the area of tension between what we emotionally categorize as positive or negative. And with Vol. 1, all of this is just the beginning of this 3-part journey…”

Whiplasher Bernadotte) 7 Ghosts (feat. Tina Guo) 8 Lords Of Fyre (& Feuerschwanz) 9 The Things We Do For Love 10 The Sadness In Everything (feat. Anna Maria Rose) 11 Dreams Are Never Alone
OPVS NOIR is not only a musically exciting step but also a bold one! This becomes clear when looking at LORD OF THE LOST‘s immediate past: support for IRON MAIDEN on two European tours, followed by their first North American shows in over a decade, sold-out headlining tours, participation in the final of the EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 2023, a #1 chart entry with the previous album Blood & Glitter, celebrated performances at the biggest festivals worldwide – they even had the honour of meeting King Charles in person. Hand on heart: How easy would it have been to keep riding this wave of success just a little longer? But that’s not how LORD OF THE LOST operates – the only constant remains change.
Everything is new, yet every note feels familiar. Behind each chorus awaits a surprise, in every line, a new door opens to further uncharted paths within the LOTL universe. This band takes the expectations of its ever-growing fanbase and molds them into songs that transcend genre boundaries – and turn moments into monuments that carry us all along: No one lost behind!

After the rousing reaction to “Oblivion” in recent weeks, Lorna Shore are offering another taste of their upcoming album I Feel The Everblack Festering Within Me with second single, “Unbreakable” released todayalongside a new music video, directed by Eric Richter. See it HERE. The launch is also accompanied by a brand-new merch collection, available HERE.
Says vocalist Will Ramos of the anthemic track, “’Unbreakable’ is a very triumphant, all-inclusive song written to bring people together for a beautiful moment where they can realize that no matter what this world throws at us, it will never break us down. We and our bonds are unbreakable.”
I Feel The Everblack Festering Within Me is the band’s fifth album and the first in three years since 2022’s explosive Pain Remains. It’s set for release on September 12 via Century Media Records and will continue Lorna Shore’s reputation as one of the most impressive extreme metal acts to emerge in recent memory.
The quintet, also including lead guitarist Adam De Micco, drummer Austin Archey, rhythm guitarist Andrew O’Connor and bassist Michael Yager, have hit the viral Spotify charts, racked up hundreds of millions of streams, embarked on highly successful tours and in the process, galvanized a significant fanbase that hangs onto the band’s quest for stylistic inversion. But by virtue of physical onslaught and wanting to divine truth from their music, Lorna Shore have kept themselves fired up by torching the metal rulebook at every turn, practically demanding that other genres step up their game.
I Feel The Everblack Festering Within Me will be available in multiple formats including digital, CD and limited-edition vinyl variants. Fans can pre-save the album HEREand find their preferred physical and digital retailer HERE.

Currently on tour across Europe (see below for dates), Pittsburgh deathcore titans Signs of the Swarm have released a new single/video today, titled “Scars Upon Scars” — taken from the band’s upcoming sixth full-length, To Rid Myself of Truth, which is due to be released August 22nd via Century Media Records. Stream the track now here; watch the video below.
“‘Scars Upon Scars’ is about my struggles with addiction,” reveals vocalist David Simonich. “I tried to make it accessible for anyone who is dealing with addiction: showcasing the depriving lows of withdrawal and highlighting the hunger that is never satiated. I hope someone can take this piece I’ve given of myself and feel less alone.
“With such direct lyrics, I approached my vocals with influences from hardcore bands I like, such as Jesus Piece, Backtrack and Desolated.”
Reunited with producer Josh Schroeder (Lorna Shore, Mental Cruelty, Varials, King 810), Signs Of The Swarm continues molting their slamming deathcore exoskeleton, revealing a band now as indebted to Meshuggah, Gojira and Fear Factory as any of the deathcore bands they grew up on—now peers. After writing breakout 5th LP Amongst the Low & Empty (2023) almost entirely in-studio, the groupgeared up to do it again on To Rid Myself of Truth. This stint’s 7-week lead time—PLUS the in-studio time—was a veritable vacation for the band, with the addition of guitarist/backing vocalist Carl Schulz adding a whole other set of riffing hands (and vocal chords) to the band. It was plenty of time for the now-quartet, rounded out by bassist Michael Cassese, to craft metal exactly as they think it should sound: MORE. PISSED. And it is. Musically the album’s edges are far more serrated than their last’s flirtations with djenty bounce. Read the full bio for To Rid Myself of Truthhere.

To celebrate the release of new album “Heimat”, HEAVEN SHALL BURN released the epic yet bleak video for “War Is The Father Of All” including the intro “Ad Arma”. The elaborate shoot was produced by Mirko Witzki. With the video, the band returns to an end-time (home) location that some fans will remember:
The world is in turmoil, and HEAVEN SHALL BURN dive straight into the heart of today’s storms with righteous fury and unrelenting energy. “Ad Arma” means “To arms.” The band’s weapons, however, remain unchanged: words, riffs, and heavy metal. One example is “War Is The Father Of All,” an epic anthem inspired by the war in Ukraine. It features a choir arranged by conductor Wilhelm Keitel and composed of Ukrainian musicians.
The theme runs throughout the album. The phrase comes from the Greek philosopher Heraclitus of Ephesus, who said over 2,500 years ago: “War is the father of all things and the king of all.” Tragically, that idea is experiencing a troubling renaissance today. “I grew up behind the Iron Curtain in East Germany,” says guitarist Maik Weichert. “For those of us who value peace, it’s a hard truth that the Cold War—with its arms race and nuclear deterrents—may have preserved peace more effectively than any international treaties. ‘If you hit me, I hit back harder’—that seems to resonate more with human nature than the wish for peace on Earth. It’s a bitter pill to swallow.”
Three orchestral pieces frame this philosophical exploration of war. The opener “Ad Arma” is followed mid-album by “Imminence,” which acts as a divider between the A- and B-sides of Heimat, before “Inter Arma” closes the record. Once again, the strings are laced with melancholy. Metaphorically, the war is over, gunpowder still clouds the air, and the battlefield is littered with the fallen. Where Ad Arma means “To arms,” Inter Arma—“In times of war”—describes war as a constant in human history.
“For us, though, those titles are meant to metaphorically arm our listeners with thoughts,” Weichert explains. The idea is to help people see war for what it truly is: destruction unleashed by despots, with no real winners. War is uncontrollable by nature—and will always end up consuming even those who think they command it. “But we also wanted to explore the ambiguities in how war is understood philosophically,” Weichert adds. “To put it simply: that billion-dollar arms companies are getting rich again, because at this stage in human development, militarization seems to be the only way left to maintain peace.”
Artwork by Eliran Kantor
“Heimat” = German for “home / homeland / native land” – a term that merely refers to a relationship between people and spaces but has nevertheless always been highly emotionally charged. Often misused, it sometimes causes discomfort, lively discussions and battles over interpretation. Maik Weichert (guitar) comments: “’Heimat’ is not meant as the narrow-minded end point in the sense it has been used by agitators and populists, but the starting point for observations and perspectives. The album is about a much wider sense of the term ‘Heimat’: the homelands for many different people and also about the spiritual home, something that shapes and determines our thoughts and actions.”
HEAVEN SHALL BURN took their time with the follow-up to “Of Truth And Sacrifice”, which reached number 1 in the Official German Album Charts in 2020. “Heimat” was produced at the band’s own studio, The Dude Ranch, which is run by guitarist Alexander Dietz. Like in the past, Danish producer Tue Madsen took care of the mixing and mastering.
The Thuringians enlisted the renowned artist Eliran Kantor for the artwork, who previously crafted the artwork for “Of Truth And Sacrifice”. The centrepiece of the impressive triptych is a rearing stag – in its roaring variant a classic motif of wildlife painting, the epitome of kitsch and trivial art from the 19th and 20th centuries and interpreted by some as a symbol of patriarchy and capitalist competition, but here placed as a vital allegory of resistance amid an apocalyptic scene. He is flanked by a hunting lynx and a watchful owl, which complete the highly symbolic artwork concept as further elements of the triptych. As with “Of Truth And Sacrifice”, HEAVEN SHALL BURN worked together with composer, producer and director Sven Helbig and conductor Wilhelm Keitel, this time supported by the Mondëna Quartet and the Ukrainian Sophia Chamber Choir.
The track listing of ”Heimat“ reads as follows:
