On May 9, 2025, Primal Fear hit the stage at Rock in Rautheim Festival near Braunschweig, Germany, playing their very first show with a partially renewed line-up.

But the most emotional moment of the night came with the long-awaited comeback of founding member Mat Sinner, who returned to the stage after a five-year health-related break.
Just days before the show, Sinner posted this on social media:
“Five years ago i played my last show with Alice Coope in Berlin. Shortly after this show i was declared dead, but doctors brought me back to life. As i was lying paralyzed in my bed one of my 3 targets was that one day i want to be back rocking on a stage again. Now 5 years later i‘m 75% recovered, 5 years sober and i will play a show with my beloved Primal Feal again on Friday evening, supported by some of the best guys i can imagine. Don‘t expect me jumping around like a young guy but for sure i will give 200% and can you imagine my feelings when we will play our classic songs again? Keep your fingers crossed and have a great new week !”
After the show, Sinner followed up with this message:
“I had a dream, it’s been a long road but finally I’ve made it. Believe in miracles, fight to make it happen. I can only thank my band mates, my family, our crew, Frank & Bodo for being there for me!”
Fans were treated to a powerful setlist full of classics like “Final Embrace”, “Nuclear Fire” and“Chainbreaker”, as well as the live debut of “The Hunter”, which will appear on the upcoming album Domination.

Founding members Mat Sinner (bass, vocals) andRalf Scheepers (vocals) lead the charge on what might be Primal Fear’s strongest and most dynamic record yet.
Domination will be available on CD, limited edition vinyl, and as Earbook.
Extreme metal supergroup Sinsaenum have announced their long-awaited return with the release of their crushing new single, ‘In Devastation,’ the title track of their forthcoming third studio album, due out later this year through earMUSIC.
The release marks the band’s first new material since the tragic passing of legendary drummer Joey Jordison (Slipknot, Murderdolls) in 2021. Both the single and album serve as a cathartic tribute to Jordison and to guitarist and founder Frédéric Leclercq’s late father, whose deaths profoundly shaped the emotional and creative direction of the project.
‘I was devastated, hence the title of this album,’ Leclercq explains. ‘But we knew we had to carry on. This record is our tribute to my father, to Joey, and to anyone who’s ever had to find strength in their darkest moments.’
LISTEN TO THE NEW SINGLE ON ALL DIGITAL PLATFORMS HERE
‘In Devastation’ is a ten-track tour de force of blackened death metal infused with Sinsaenum’s signature melodic ferocity and experimental edge. Produced and mixed by acclaimed German audio engineer Lasse Lammert, the album explores new sonic territory for the band, blending intricate progressive elements, clean vocals, and even cello—without ever compromising their brutal core.
Joining Leclercq on this latest chapter are returning members Attila Csihar (Mayhem), Sean Zatorsky (Dååth), Stéphane Buriez (Loudblast), and Heimoth (Seth). Stepping in behind the kit is Andre Joyzi, formerly Jordison’s tech and a trusted member of the band’s touring family—chosen not only for his skills, but for the emotional connection he brings to continuing Jordison’s legacy.
Tracks like ‘Obsolete and Broken’ and ‘The Last Goodbye’ showcase the band’s musical and emotional evolution, from raw aggression to haunting reflection. Leclercq describes the latter as ‘the most personal we’ve done,’ while songs like ‘Shades of Black’ and ‘Over the Red Wall’ push the band into new anthemic and speed-driven territory.
Following the critically acclaimed Echoes of the Tortured (2016) and Repulsion for Humanity (2018), In Devastation cements Sinsaenum’s place at the vanguard of modern metal—a band forged in grief but fueled by defiance.

Guitar slinger and blues-rock powerhouse Joe Bonamassa has released his latest single, “Drive By The Exit Sign,” a gritty, up-tempo standout from his upcoming studio album Breakthrough, out July 18th via J&R Adventures. Fuelled by a crunchy slide guitar riff, Southern-rock energy, and a full-throttle vocal performance, “Drive By The Exit Sign” finds Bonamassa leaning into the dirtier, road-tested side of his songwriting. It’s a breakup song disguised as a highway burner—fast-paced and hook-heavy, with lyrics that evoke missed chances, wrong turns, and the emotional wreckage we leave behind.
Produced by Kevin Shirley (Iron Maiden, The Black Crowes, Journey), the single captures the raw, unfiltered side of Breakthrough, a record that spans genres and continents. Recorded across Greece, Nashville, and Los Angeles, Breakthrough reflects Bonamassa’s most expansive vision yet—a record that taps into swampy funk, acoustic introspection, arena-ready blues rock, and more.
Co-written by Bonamassa, James House, and producer Kevin Shirley, “Drive By The Exit Sign” follows the release of the album’s title track, “Breakthrough,” an anthemic, soul-stirring call to transformation that quickly became a fan favourite. That single, co-written with long-time collaborator Tom Hambridge, showcased Bonamassa’s growth as a storyteller and emotional interpreter, marking a new chapter in a career already defined by evolution.
The album also features previously released tracks “Still Walking With Me” and “Shake This Ground,” which introduced listeners to the wide-ranging soundscape Bonamassa has built on Breakthrough—from the introspective and moody to the celebratory and uplifting. Each single adds a new layer to an album that celebrates risk, reinvention, and deep musical roots.
The new music arrives as Bonamassa wraps his Spring 2025 European Tour, which brought sold-out crowds across the UK, Germany, and Central Europe. Next, he’ll hit the road with his supergroup Black Country Communion—featuring Glenn Hughes, Jason Bonham, and Derek Sherinian—for a highly anticipated European run in June. A U.S. summer amphitheater tour follows, including stops at The Greek Theatre, Red Rocks, and more, with a full Fall U.S. Tour on the horizon.
With more than 50 albums, 28 #1 Billboard Blues albums, and a reputation as one of the hardest-working performers in music, Bonamassa continues to break new ground while staying deeply rooted in the blues-rock tradition. Breakthrough is his most ambitious effort yet—a celebration of craft, character, and sheer musical force.

Melbourne blackened nu-metal outfit MÉLANCOLIA announce their sophomore album random.access.misery will be available Friday August 29 via Nuclear Blast and Greyscale Records. The band share scathing new single ‘ALL_IS_RUST‘ as a vicious taste of what’s to come.
‘ALL_IS_RUST‘ serves as both a declaration of evolution and a warning: MÉLANCOLIA are not here to follow trends—they’re here to dismantle them. The new single is the introduction to MÉLANCOLIA’s forthcoming album, blending metalcore, deathcore, industrial noise, blast beats and DJ scratching into a hellish sonic cocktail. The song welcomes listeners to their new sound and a genre the band have coined as “Blackened Nu Metal”.
‘ALL_IS_RUST‘ marries the sound, aesthetic and visuals from their debut album,‘HissThroughRottenTeeth‘, into one cohesive package; “While there has been a departure from straight up deathcore, we feel this song sounds even more representative of MÉLANCOLIA,” says vocalist Alex Hill. “And after testing the waters debuting this song in Europe earlier this year we can confirm this one is already a crowd favourite.”
Picked as one of four “brilliant new metal bands you need to hear” by Metal Hammer in April, the band are primed and ready and unleash their defining new album this August; “We are bringing a fresh sound to an otherwise stale scene, you will not hear what we are doing from anyone else. We are setting the trend as we set the bar for modern heavy music. Love us or hate us, you will fucking remember us.”
Momentum is at an all time high for the band, having toured Australia three times over off the back of HissThroughRottenTeeth‘ and breaking into Europe and the UK twice on tours with SUFFOCATION (US) and INGESTED (UK). The band will join THY ART IS MURDERon a regional lap of Australia this June and July and will debut some of their new music for the very first time.
For almost three decades, the US/French Canadian-based melodic death metal syndicate KATAKLYSM, has delivered unapologetic waves of powerful sound across the entire globe. Today, the band offer fans a new track entitled, ‘The Rabbit Hole‘.
With a brutal honesty and relentless force, it rips through the illusion of control and dares listeners to wake up, fight back, and resist. A soundtrack for the disillusioned—unapologetic and unrelenting. The song featuresClemens Wijers (CARACH ANGREN) who curated the tracks ambient sound effects and synth section.
KATAKLYSM‘S Maurizio Iacono states, “‘The Rabbit hole’ is the bands first stand alone single since the bands classic ‘Iron will’ track. As the world spins out of control and people search for purpose and truth, we felt questioning these things is something important to do, theres a lot of noise and lots of distortion these days, but always trust your gut and what is right vs what is forced fed, so why not put these thoughts to music, so while we wait for the next record, we decided to drop this heavy hitter, spread it an enjoy!”
The single was recorded earlier this year at JFD Studios in Dallas, TX and Studio City, CA as well as The Cabin in Orlando, FL and Silver Black Studio, Laval, QC, Canada. ‘The Rabbit Hole‘ was produced, mixed, and mastered by the band’s very own J-F Dagenais.
