Two of the band’s most respected and thought-provoking releases—Spiritual Wasteland and The Album of Labour—are being brought back to life on limited CD and vinyl editions, fully remastered and presented as part of the Metal Icon Series.
If you’re into progressive metal with depth, atmosphere, and purpose, this is essential listening. Think along the lines of Queensrÿche, Candlemass, Savatage, and the more introspective side of heavy music—albums that reward time, attention, and repeated spins.
A haunting and immersive progressive doom metal experience, Spiritual Wasteland leans heavily into atmosphere, layered keyboards, and slow-burning compositions. This is a thinking person’s album—philosophical, apocalyptic, and deeply reflective.
Veni Domine – Spiritual Wasteland (2LP Vinyl Gatefold)
The definitive way to experience Spiritual Wasteland. Spread across two LPs, the album’s depth and dynamics fully open up—making this a must-have for collectors and vinyl enthusiasts.
A powerful and refined follow-up, The Album of Labour builds on the band’s progressive doom foundation with stronger melodies, more defined songwriting, and unforgettable choruses. A perfect entry point into the band’s catalog.
Pressed on limited edition vinyl, this release captures the band at a creative peak—balancing melody, heaviness, and progressive sophistication in one cohesive statement.
Final Word
Veni Domine isn’t casual listening.
This is music to sit with… to absorb… to experience.
If you’re a fan of progressive metal with meaning, these reissues belong in your collection.
Florida death thrash metal outfit INTOXICATED is now unleashing a ferocious new music video for the single “Carved in Stone,” which can be found at THIS LOCATION.
“Carved in Stone” is taken from the band’s new full-length, ‘The Dome,’ which was released on March 27, 2026 via Redefining Darkness! ‘The Dome’ can be ordered in the USA HERE while it’s available for the rest of the world HERE.
Vocalist/guitarist Erik Payne comments, “‘Carved in Stone’ is written for the sickening ‘elites;’ The ones that have gone unchecked and how they should be petrified of their demise.”
INTOXICATED is a thrash/death metal band from Altamonte Springs, Florida, originally formed in 1993. Led by vocalist and guitarist Erik Payne, the band quickly carved out a place in Florida’s extreme metal lineage, earning early mentorship from Death’s legendary Chuck Schuldiner. Rooted firmly in Florida’s storied death-thrash tradition, Intoxicated’s sound draws natural comparisons to Death, Sadus, and Obituary— as marked by unrelenting speed, sharp riffing, and concise, high-impact songwriting.
The cover artwork for ‘The Dome’ was created by Celeste Payne and can be found below along with the tracklisting.

Their first run produced a trio of EPs—.08 (1994), Scars (1995), and Metal Neck (1997)—before releasing their third EP, Drain.
Following their initial rise, Intoxicated went on hiatus as Payne, along with Obituary’s Donald Tardy and Ken Andrews, joined the touring lineup for Andrew W.K. in 1999, a role they held for nearly two decades while performing around the world.
The band reactivated in 2019, returning with the Walled EP (2020) and their long-awaited debut full-length, Watch You Burn (2022). The album showcased the band’s signature blend of ragged thrash aggression and Florida-bred death metal grit. Featuring guest appearances from Ken Andrews (Obituary, ex–Andrew W.K.) and Tony Foresta (Municipal Waste), and produced, mixed, and mastered by Ryan Boesch (Foo Fighters, Andrew W.K.) at Candor Recording—formerly Morbid Angel’s headquarters—Watch You Burn reaffirmed Intoxicated’s place among fans of classic Kreator, Death, Obituary, Protector, and Devastation.
Now, Intoxicated is preparing to unleash their second full-length album, The Dome, on Redefining Darkness Records.
Rooted firmly in Florida’s storied death-thrash tradition, Intoxicated’s sound draws natural comparisons to Death, Sadus, and Obituary— as marked by unrelenting speed, sharp riffing, and concise, high-impact songwriting.

Season of Mist is proud to welcome back Misery Index.
For 25 years, Misery Index have stood out for their high-intensity combo of death metal, grindcore and cutting social commentary. Featuring current and former members of Pig Destroyer and Dying Fetus, the Baltimore band have released seven critically-acclaimed albums, visited 46 countries and performed more than 1,500 concerts, including dates with Morbid Angel, Amon Amarth, Fear Factory, Cannibal Corpse, Napalm Death, Deicide and other fellow stalwarts.
Now, as they prepare to release new music from their upcoming eighth full-length album, today, Misery Index are excited to announce that they are returning to Season of Mist ahead of their upcoming European and United Kingdom headline summer tour, which includes appearances at Wacken Open Air, Summer Breeze and other major festivals.
“We in Misery Index are mega-chuffed to be back in the cozy, dark embrace of the Season of Mist family!”, the band’s bassist and vocalist Jason Netherton says. “The delicious smell of a classic independent label is both welcoming and intoxicating. Like the minstrels of yore, we wandered into the wilderness for a few years until we found our way back to where we belong. Cheers to great days ahead together!”

Misery Index previously released Live in Munich (2013) The Killing Gods (2014) and Rituals of Power (2019) with Season of Mist. The Killing Gods and Rituals of Power are available now through the label’s web shop.
Misery Index started as a studio project in 2001. Vocalist and bassist Jason Netherton (ex-Dying Fetus) joined guitarist Mike Harrison and drummer Kevin Talley (ex-Dying Fetus) to record their debut EP Overthrow. The considerable praise heaped upon this five-song death/grind attack led Misery Index to become a full-time band with the addition of guitarist Sparky Voyles (ex-Dying Fetus).
In 2003, Misery Index released Retaliate, their debut full-length, on Nuclear Blast records. “I can’t see how anyone who likes death metal and grindcore wouldn’t like this record” Lambgoat wrote. The band followed the success of their debut with numerous tours of North America and Europe while supporting Dying Fetus, Amon Amarth, Deicide and Nile. Between 2004 and 2005, current guitarist and ex-Cast The Stone Mark Kloeppel came aboard while Pig Destroyer’s Adam Jarvis took over on drums, which solidified their lineup for years to come.
Discordia, Misery Index’s second full-length, was released on Relapse Records in 2006. “Discordia is an enjoyable listen primarily because Misery Index have learned how to write great riffs” Last Rites wrote. A seven-week tour of Europe with Fear Factory followed, along with the band’s first appearance at Hellfest and Tuska Open Air.
For their third full-length and second with Relapse, in 2008, Misery Index recorded with Kurt Ballou (Converge) at God City Studios. “These polarized times call for constructive discourse. But if Misery Index can destroy the opposition six ways ‘til Sunday, so be it”, Pitchfork wrote in a review of Traitors. For the next two years, the band toured extensively. They supported Cannibal Corpse and The Black Dhalia Murder and performed for the first time in Mexico, Russia and Iceland, while also making their debut at Japan’s Extreme the Dojo festival and Germany’s Summer Breeze.
2010’s Heirs to Thievery, which was also released on Relapse, dropped like a bomb on the death metal scene, shattering expectations. “As Netherton and his band insist, now is not the time for complacency, even in the metal community”, PopMatters wrote. The album’s critical and commercial success elevated the band to headliners in the United States and Europe. Following the departure of Voyles that same year, guitarist Darin Morris joined Misery Index and solidified the 4-member lineup that still stands today. Over the next two years, they made their live debut in Colombia, Thailand, Indonesia and Malayasia and supported the US and European legs of Cannibal Corpse’s Torture tour.
While performing in Munich in 2012, Misery Index recorded their first live album. The band released Live in Munich with Season of Mist, whom they originally signed with in 2013. They went on to release two critically-acclaimed and top-selling albums for the French label. “Impressively heavy, expansive and loud”, Metal Injection wrote about The Killing Gods (2014). Rituals of Power generated an equally reverential response. “[…] an exemplary execution of death in 2019”, New Noise wrote.
Two European headline tours, including one with Wormrot, and support runs with Nails and The Black Dahlia Murder kept them on the road until February 2020. On the final day of their month-long Campaign for Musical Destruction European Tour with Napalm Death, Misery Index happily announced that they had signing to Century Media Records. The label released their seventh studio album in 2022 to widespread acclaim.
“Misery Index is a band for the hellish news cycle we are all trapped in”, Invisible Oranges wrote in a review of Complete Control.
Now, having toured their previous album extensively since 2022, Misery Index are back with Season of Mist ahead of their upcoming eighth full-length album. The band will release new music ahead of their upcoming An Epitapth for Endtimes European and United Kingdom summer tour.

Brazilian progressive metallers MAESTRICK are pleased to unveil a new acoustic version of their single “Lunar Vortex,” along with an official visualizer, out now via Frontiers Music Srl.
The track was originally part of the band’s latest album, ‘Espresso Della Vita: Lunare,’ released in May 2025.
MAESTRICK comments on the new version:
“Presenting new arrangements of songs from our catalogue creates the opportunity for a fresh perspective and even a deeper connection with the music. ‘Lunar Vortex’ was therefore the first chosen for a series of acoustic and minimalist versions that will be released. We really hope you enjoy it.”
Founded in São José do Rio Preto/SP by three friends, MAESTRICK has been active since 2006 and brings in sound elements of rock and progressive heavy metal, Brazilian regional music, world music, and classical music.
The band has released two albums in Brazil, Europe, the United States, and Japan, and are recognized for drinking from different artistic aspects – cinema, plastic arts, visual arts, and literature – for their compositions, which results in a unique and, according to specialized critics, innovative style.
Not surprisingly, MAESTRICK captivates movie fans, notably those of Tim Burton, George Méliès, Guillermo del Toro, and Christopher Nolan. In music, it attracts listeners of both modern rock/metal, such as Muse, and also of more niche styles within metal, such as Dream Theater, Haken, Jinjer, Spirit Box, and classics like Queen, Yes, and Gentle Giant.
Their songs address complex everyday themes of human nature. The album ‘Espresso Della Vita: Solare,’ from 2018, was rated by BURRN!, one of the most respected music publications in the world, with a score of 86/100 – quite high for the publication’s standard. Solare‘s success led to a tour of Europe with nine shows in Switzerland, Italy, Poland, and the Czech Republic.
With their latest album ‘Espresso Della Vita: Lunare,’MAESTRICK aim to redefine the progressive metal boundaries. The number of high-quality arrangements, musical abilities and influences that the band infused in the new album created the most fresh and exciting album of the genre in years.
With a malicious, dark, heavy and sarcastic approach, MAESTRICK deliver adult themes like addictions, racial prejudice, abuse, the holocaust and much more. It is a very emotional album, with deep reflections about what really matters in our journey/life.
STERBHAUS releases a very last music video on the 24th of April shortly after having the new album “Next Akin to Chaos” hitting stores around the globe. And much like every Sterbhaus music video the new “Whippersnapper” doesn’t disappoint as it is as hilarious as it is entertaining, cinematic and completely unique.
That little girl who buried birds and ended up stealing a dubious occupation in the fan favourite video for “Absolutely Do Not Die!” has now grown up. That was 12 years ago… and this is now.
Meet the Blizzard travelling robot “Abboth” (named for obvious reasons), join a trek across Stockholm with a hot-dog munching goat guitar “Hellmut the Goatard” and his Angus Young stomping thrashing buddy in the form of a well dressed crow… and watch it all burn in the end.
And try to spot the Candlemass “Bewitched” parody 😉
Simply put; this is truly a sight to behold! And much like the new album “Next Akin to Chaos” – a worthy epitaph as Sterbhaus now ends.
Sterbhaus is the Stockholm trio with members previously/currently active in bands like Shining, Elvira Madigan, Veile (Ghul of Mayhem side project), Ondskapt etc. Playing a concoction dubbed Metal Deluxe which is to be described as a timeless mash between Thrash, Heavy, Death, Black and Progressive Metal. After a full decade in the making, the latest offering “Next Akin to Chaos” really sports Sterbhaus at its very peak! Ironically! – since it is a Sterbhaus that now hammers down the very last nail and will never perform the album live.
Swedish post-rock duo Oh Hiroshima have unveiled their evocative new single ‘Meridian’, the latest glimpse into their forthcoming album And the Dead Tree Gives No Shelter, due for release on 5th June via PelagicRecords. Alongside the announcement, the band have confirmed a run of European tour dates this autumn in celebration of the new record.
Speaking on the track, the band share: “We pulled a lot from our post-rock roots for this track while still retaining the intensity of our more recent work. To us, it feels like a distillation of our journey as a band, where our past and present collide.”
On And the Dead Tree Gives No Shelter, Oh Hiroshima further refine their hallmark interplay of restraint and release, as delicate, shimmering guitars gradually give way to towering crescendos. Steeped in existential weight and a sense of modern disillusionment, the record traces a path through despair and meaning, carried by an undercurrent of quiet resilience.
Oh Hiroshima have built a reputation for transforming introspection into vast, cinematic sound. The Swedish band has spent the better part of the last decade refining a musical language that balances fragility with overwhelming emotional force. Their music exists in the space where atmosphere, melody and gradual intensity converge, where hushed textures evolve patiently into towering waves of sound. With each release, the group has deepened their identity as one of the genre’s most evocative and emotionally resonant voices.
And the Dead Tree Gives No Shelter continues Oh Hiroshima’s pursuit to refine the balance between vulnerability and power. At the core of their sound lies a delicate interplay between restraint and release. Their compositions carefully cultivate tension, letting each layer unfold organically: chiming guitars, distant reverberations, and minimal rhythmic pulses that feel suspended in air, all contrast against the heavily drenched power they can unleash. Whether the passage be titanic or still, Oh Hiroshima establish a sense of openness and emotional ambiguity, allowing listeners to settle into the sonic landscape as the music works its slow ascent.
Commenting on the album, the band state: “The album title And the Dead Tree Gives No Shelter is taken from T. S. Eliot’s epic poem The Waste Land. For this album, the dead tree works as a metaphor for ways of living that drain the world of meaning and offer no real way of navigating the hardships of life. We are living in a time when it has become harder and harder to imagine a bright future. This leaves many of us with a deep sense of hopelessness that easily breeds cynicism and apathy. In that state it becomes easy to shut the world out and give up any attempts at meaningful interaction with the world around us. A destructive cycle follows, as this leaves us with no way of sheltering ourselves from our initial despair at the state of things. But these songs also aim to paint something meaningful and hopeful. A form of idealisation not rooted in naivety but in realism, because we need ideals to gather enough strength to leave the shelterless dead trees of our lives behind.”
Oh Hiroshima consistently demonstrate a growing confidence in exploring the edges of their sound. Backed by special guests, a whole array of instrumentation and a growing pallet for wider experimentation, And the Dead Tree Gives No Shelter evokes Oh Hiroshima’s unique emotional landscape, each composition a relentlessly captivating journey that inspires reflection and release. Every motif, choice and touch contribute to the shifting terrains that gradually unfold into luminous intensity. By blending harmonics, immersive production and a deeply intuitive sense of pacing, Oh Hiroshima have crafted an album that is woven with intimacy and expansively felt.
“We tracked the foundation of the record (drums, bass and electric guitars) at Studio Gröndahl with KarlDaniel Lidén (Swarm of the Sun), who has worked with many really good bands before, he took great care in the drum setup and recording, and we’re especially happy with how that turned out, adds vocalist Jakob Hemström. The rest of the album was recorded in Örebro by me and my brother, with a little help from some friends of the band. Production-wise this is our most ambitious record by far because of the number of instruments and musicians that contributed. Ten additional musicians were involved this time around. Magnus Lindberg mixed and mastered the album. It’s the third time in a row. He’s great to work with, has a great résumé, and always delivers quality work.”
And the Dead Tree Gives No Shelter track list:
1. Servant of All 2. Meridian 3. Angelos 4. Skeleton Key 5. Tree of Life 6. Broken Sunlight 7. Ivory Tower 8. Exit Cloud
