Minuutti Hulluuteen is Lasse Laihola‘s (ex-MindMirror, Hauras) solo project and a sign of his love for heavy music. In music you are able to sense a mix of old school death metal, black metal and even more modern expression. Mathias Lillmåns (Finntroll, …And Oceans, etc.) is featured as a guest vocalist on the mini-album named ‘Uni’ which was released on March 13th 2025 via Inverse Records.

“Uni” contains eight songs and each song takes you to different levels of nightmare. The album songs are mixed together and they create a story that takes you to the darkest place. The solo project waited for a moment before implementation, looking for its complete form of expression. The result is a delicious piece of music that moves from one mood to another.

ALLY VENABLE Releases Title Track Single + Music Video from Upcoming Album “Money & Power”

Critically acclaimed Texas based blues rock guitarist and vocalist Ally Venable will release her new single “Money & Power” via Ruf Records on Friday March 14th. It is the third single and title track from her highly anticipated forthcoming album, Money & Power.

The single is available on all streaming platforms HERE. Watch the official “Money & Power” music video on YouTube HERE.

The Money & Power album, released Friday April 18, is available to pre-order HERE.

“Money & Power” is a bold, uncompromising anthem that celebrates the rise of women in traditionally male-dominated realms,” says Ally about the new single.

“It is a timely and necessary statement, empowering listeners to challenge the status quo and forge their own paths to success, regardless of gender. This song will undoubtedly resonate with audiences seeking a message of empowerment and equality in a world that has often denied women their rightful place.”

Rules are there to be broken. Expectations are there to be defied. Glass ceilings are there to be shattered. Having spent the past decade carving out her own unique space in the male-dominated world of blues rock, Ally Venable’s combative sixth album, Money & Power, demands more of both – for herself, for women around the world, and for anyone else who thought they weren’t worthy of a seat at the table.

“Money & Power is such a strong statement, especially for women,” says the award-winning Texas gunslinger of her Nashville-recorded new release, on which Ally’s crack-squad band is joined by A-list guests Shemekia Copeland and Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram.

“All the songs on this album showcase the theme of what it truly means to be a force to be reckoned with. I want this record to wake people up,” continues Ally.

Money and power make the world go round. But in the right hands, music can be every bit as potent. Right now, on the heels of 2023’s acclaimed Real Gone – an album that hit #1 on the Billboard Blues Charts and was still in contention a year later – Ally is rated amongst the best young singer-songwriters in American roots, saluted by Total Guitar magazine in its poll of Top 100 Blues Guitarists.

“With her heels, sequins and Les Paul growling on a leash, she’s one of Ruf’s most head-turning young artists,” wrote Classic Rock, “and while the instrumental prowess can be taken as read, Real Gone marks a growing maturity in the Texan’s songcraft.”

In February 2024, with the dust still settling from Real Gone, the Money & Power sessions saw Ally and producer/drummer Tom Hambridge push through the doors of Nashville’s famous Soundstage Studios. And while the studio band was strictly A-list, as always, Ally’s new songs are the real stars. That attitude is palpable on opener “Brown Liquor,” Ally’s battlecry decorated by a stinging guest guitar solo from the Mississippi hotshot Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram.

“Maybe Someday” is a blissful moment of redemptive soul, carried along by horns and barbed lyrics aimed at an old flame. Next up is the white-hot title track, with Ally’s guitar set to scorch and a seething message.

“Money & Power shouts to the masses,” she explains, “that women are not to be doubted in their ability to thrive in the world.”

Vital right to the end, Money & Power plays out with “Stepping Stone’s” earthy roar of empowerment, the shuddering, spooky, tremolo-soaked groove of “Feel That Sting,” and the dust-blown rocker “Unbreakable,” where Ally goes toe-to-toe with New York powerhouse Shemekia Copeland.

“That song spreads a message of women that have been oppressed,” Ally says, “to rise to the occasion and break above it all.”

Money & Power is a modern roots record that plays by its own rules and marches to the beat of its own drum. The same could be said for Ally herself. “I’m thrilled to release this album,” she says. “For me, it’s a sonic embodiment of a woman’s unstoppable ambition, and really showcases my musicality on all fronts. I’m looking forward to seeing where this one will take me.”

CALIFORNIA IRISH (Feat. Cormac Neeson) to Release Debut Single ‘Big Questions’ on March 28th

Posted by tarjavirmakari on March 15, 2025
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: CALIFORNIA IRISH. Leave a comment

CALIFORNIA IRISH is the new band featuring The Answer’s Cormac Neeson. The band tips its hat to the wonderfully melodic and free-spirited sound from 60s America, a sound that reaches back into a gentler, more empathetic time, and now releases its wonderful debut single ‘Big Questions‘.

Presave ‘Big Questions‘ here: https://ada.lnk.to/BigQuestions

Summoning the beguiling spirit of Laurel Canyon, employing analogue recording techniques, and recording songs in one or two takes to achieve something with a real human touch, California Irish are a new seven piece group hailing from Belfast that working their own niche within the world of folk and Americana, and everything in between.

This new group showcase a unique sound formed from a combination of players that initially came together briefly to perform a Neil Young-inspired theatre show production called “Re-Harvest”, in which the musicians who now make up California Irish very successfully performed the classic albums ‘Harvest Moon’ and ‘Harvest’ back to back.

The brainchild of the group is lead singer and chief songwriter Cormac Neeson. The band were hand-picked by Neeson based on long standing friendships, as well as experiences with numerous musical projects within the thriving Belfast music scene.

Cormac states his reason for starting the band, and wanting to harness this fabulous sound: “This album is the opposite of boring AI generated no soul perfection. We recorded this album in a room together over four days allowing the music to breathe when it needed to, looking at each other for our cues and feeding off each other’s energy. It felt like a dream…but it’s the most real thing I’ve ever done in music.
That Laurel Canyon sound of the late 60s, epitomised by the early Crosby Stills Nash and Young stuff, and the first few Joni Mitchell records, has always felt otherworldly and magical. On our album we’ve tried to access some of that beauty and create our own magic by combining brand new music with an old school recording process.
”

The Laurel Canyon influence also extends to the band’s recording technique, adhering rigidly to the analogue 16 track recording method circa 1969; namely recording live straight to tape at the world famous Middle Farm Studios under the watchful eyes and ears of producer Pete Miles. The resulting sound of California Irish flies in the face of modern techniques that often lose the warmth of the original compositions. Instead, the group opted for a one off and unique shared human experience with musicians who feed off each other’s energy, and create compelling four-part vocal blends around one single microphone in a warm alt-folk celebration. The creative process in turn led to an album’s worth of songs titled ‘The Mountains Are My Friends’.

‘Big Questions’ is the first official release from the band, and a taster of the album to come….

Introducing the band:
Cormac Neeson (vocals, acoustic guitar, psychedelic cowbell)
Susy Coyle (vocals and percussion)
Donal Scullion (acoustic, electric guitar, vocals)
Chris Kelly (lap steel, mandolin, acoustic, electric guitar, vocals)
James Doone (bass)
Simon Templeton (piano, hammond, Wurlitzer)

HIGHSOCIETY & YOUNG MEDICINE Release New Single ‘Night Ride’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on March 15, 2025
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: HIGHSOCIETY, YOUNG MEDICINE. Leave a comment

Career genre-criminals HIGHSOCIETY and Young Medicine are back on their genre twisting game with new single “Night Ride” which premiered at New Retro Wave.

Pros at mixing genres that shouldn’t work together but somehow do, the artists merge metalcore, synthwave, and dubstep in a way that only they could pull off. With modern metal guitars, cyberpunk nostalgia, and bold electronic production, they’ve created the ultimate soundtrack for your angsty night drive. “Young Medicine and I have a shared passion for mixing genres that shouldn’t work together but somehow do, and I think this song captures that energy perfectly,” explains HIGHSOCIETY. “We’ve become good friends through our collaborations, and this track reflects that vibe. It’s over-the-top, and packed with intensity in a way that doesn’t take itself too seriously.”

HIGHSOCIETY has announced his upcoming album DATAMOSH is available to pre-order from FiXT. The album drops March 28, 2024.

Preorder ‘DATAMOSH’ here: https://link.fixtmusic.com/DATAMOSH

Prepare for a sonic onslaught like no other as HIGHSOCIETY’s highly anticipated new album, DATAMOSH, smashes through genre conventions with a ferocity of a rampaging sonic juggernaut. Merging the worlds of alternative metal, hard rock, and industrial with EDM, DATAMOSH is a relentless exhibition of raw energy, thunderous rhythms, and cutting-edge production.

One of the hallmarks of DATAMOSH is its jaw-dropping roster of collaborations featuring appearances from Micah Martin, ENMY, BVLVNCE, Craig Mabbit (of Escape The Fate), Daedric, Young Medicine, The Anix, Coping Method, Becko, and Protect Your Heart. Each brings their own unique edge to the table amplifying the intensity of every track. With singles like “OBSOLETE” with Coping Method, a brutal metalcore-dubstep crossover that defies convention; “Voices” featuring Micah Martin, a blistering anthem born from an electrifying one-day creative sprint; and “Dead By Dawn” with Daedric, where soaring cinematic grandeur meets punishing breakdowns. And these are just the tip of the iceberg.

At the heart of the album is the concept of “DATAMOSH” — a sonic philosophy that sees HIGHSOCIETY blurring the lines between genres, bending them to his will. It’s a fusion of cybernetic precision and primal human emotion layered over sound. The result? A completely original multifaceted album that’s as unpredictable as it is unforgettable. From dubstep bangers to metal anthems, HIGHSOCIETY’s sonic palette knows no limits.

The ascending bass music talent that is known as HIGHSOCIETY has been on a rapid rise as of late, thanks to his addictive blend of stadium-crushing future bass, metallurgic dubstep, and blazing trap. With a seemingly endless torrent of releases across standout labels from FiXT, Barong Family, and Universal Music, to Red Bull Records and Lowly Palace/Trap Nation, HIGHSOCIETY has firmly established himself as one of the most exciting new acts in electronic music.

In the past HIGHSOCIETY worked with respected labels such as Dim Mak, Red Bull Records,  Island Records, Lowly Palace, Welcome Records, Barong Family,  Universal, and now FiXT. He’s also worked with many high-profile artists including Craig Mabbit of Escape The Fate, AWOLNATION, Attack Attack!, Celldweller, Teddy Killerz, The Anix, Big Shaq, Reid Speed, Palisades, Jade, and Le Castle Vania as well as earned sync placements with HBO, MTV, MTV2, ABC Family, Freeform, and Oxygen. He’s performed live with Steve Aoki, Knife Party, Kill The Noise, Slushii, Modestep, GTA, and Elohim at many live festivals including but not limited to Live 105 BFD Festival, Bottlerock Festival, Amsterdam Dance Event, and many headline shows across the US.

Rising synthwave rockers Young Medicine pull the best from diverse genres to build a carefully constructed music identity that defies simple categorization. Thumping double-bass beats and crunchy guitar riffs hammer out hard-hitting rhythms while chorus lines partner with sparkling retro synth tones for a stunning mix of audio ideas. If synthwave and metal got together and started a boy band, the result might sound something like Young Medicine, who have put themselves on the map as pioneers for a new era by bringing rockstar swagger to the retrowave movement.

Young Medicine made a statement early, releasing their debut album Interlinked in 2019 to widespread fan and influencer support, including the group being named in Alternative Press’s Top 12 Bands You Need To Know. The album also received prominent Billboard charting, landing spots on the Top 10 Alternative New Artist Albums and Top 25 New Artist Heatseekers charts. The band propelled themselves into tens of thousands of Spotify monthly listeners practically overnight while a series of original music videos piled up hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube.

The red-hot recording soon caught the attention of independent retro label FiXT, who signed the group to a deal in early 2020. The new partnership led to a re-release of Interlinked along with brand new remixes, with new singles planned throughout 2021 and building towards a new full-length album in 2024.

DISEMBODIED TYRANT Join Nuclear Blast + Reveal ‘8.6 Blackout’ Single

Nuclear Blast Records is proud to welcome Missouri’s burgeoning extreme metal wrecking crew DISEMBODIED TYRANT to the label’s thriving roster. With one of the most distinct new sounds in heavy music, the volatile four-piece have already amassed a global cult following with their intense amalgam of blackened deathcore and progressive symphonic metal.

In the span of only a few short years, DISEMBODIED TYRANT has released a handful of singles and an EP that have garnered millions of streams, while performing a mind-blowing set at New England Metal & Hardcore Festival and North American tour with FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE and SHADOW OF INTENT that have sparked a firestorm of anticipation for what’s next for the band.

Commenting on the signing to Nuclear Blast, founding songwriter, guitarist and vocalist Blake Mullens says:
“It’s an honor to be joining the Nuclear Blast roster, alongside some of my all time favorite bands/artists. Disembodied Tyrant has only ever been supported by myself internally, and to now have an entire team behind us is a dream come true, I’m very eager for what the future holds!”

Nuclear Blast America’s label manager and head of A&R, Tommy Jones adds:
“I’ve never signed an artist that never played a show live, until Disembodied Tyrant. I just felt so solid on their music and their team, that I rolled the dice. I saw the band’s 8th show ever at New England Metal and Hardcore Fest while they were supporting Fleshgod Apocalypse. After the performance, I hugged Blake and said in his ear ‘thank you for confirming my decision’.
The world is not ready for the insanity of Disembodied Tyrant, but you don’t have a choice. It’s about to get disgusting.”

Along with the signing announcement, comes the brand new single ‘8.6 BLACKOUT’; an unrelenting track of raging chaos.

Mullens says of the song:
“This song was one of those rarities where the vision stayed consistent throughout the entire process, it became exactly what I imaged it would from day one. This is a huge pivot thematically from the previous material, coupled with the video I think it’s quite the statement.”
