Estonia’s metalcore force PRIDIAN are unveiling details for their upcoming album “Venetian Dark” alongside their newest single “DINY”. Their record, which will mark the band’s debut album, is set to be released May 16th, 2025, via Century Media Records and follows Pridian’s 2023 debut EP “Cybergnosis”. With the release of “Venetian Dark”, Pridian show not just their own potential in the international metalcore scene but also why Estonia’s growing metal scene deserves more light in the future. “Venetian Dark” is now available for pre-order.

Vocalist Laur Lindmäe shares about the inspiration for “Venetian Dark”:

„Looking at it on a larger scale, I believe that humanity has lost its connection with nature, the planet, and even itself. We relentlessly exploit every last resource, driven by profit and greed. Our ideologies have grown superficial, and we are becoming less and less empathetic. Even if we end up destroying the Earth, we seem to have this cockroach-like ability to survive. We’ll likely figure out how to launch ourselves into space, discover another planet to inhabit, and start the cycle all over again.”

The band shares the backstory about “DINY”:

“I drove fast. Faster than I should have really. The night pressed in on me, cold and endless, the road disappearing into the blackness ahead. The air outside was freezing, but it couldn’t match the cold that had settled inside me. My thoughts circled around her, over and over. Every streetlight I passed threw her silhouette onto the road, and for a moment, I thought I saw her standing there, waiting for me. My foot pressed harder on the gas, wondering what it would feel like to just keep going— to let everything go. The emptiness inside was worse than the road ahead, and I wasn’t sure if I was trying to outrun it or dive straight into it. She was gone, but not gone enough. And no matter how fast I went, I knew I’d never escape her.”

Dutch heavyweights CRYPTOSIS stood out from the start, sending shockwaves through the metal scene with their 2021 debut album Bionic Swarm. In 2025, they return with their sophomore record, Celestial Death.

“We wrote a lot of different material. This new record has a much darker atmosphere,” says bassist Frank te Riet. Singer/guitarist Laurens Houvast adds, “We learned how to create songs that come together as complete pieces.”

Celestial Death was recorded at Utrecht’s Studio Moon Music, mixed by Fredrik Folkare at Chrome Studios, and mastered by Tony Lindgren at Fascination Street Studios in Stockholm. The technicality and menace of Bionic Swarm have been amplified tenfold.

“We had a clear vision,” adds te Riet. “The team behind the scenes was the same as for Bionic Swarm. We wanted to reflect more personal stories in the lyrics.”

Cryptosis returns with a new perspective, an enhanced sound, and a profound sense of urgency. Celestial Death is a game-changer. The future has returned, and nothing can stop it.

What could be more fitting than a moody cover song about manically driving the whole night for an 80s/90s goth-infused rock band with a passion for vintage cars?

CEMETERY SKYLINE (feat. members of Insomnium, Amorphis, Sentenced, Dark Tranquillity…) swapped the car with a hearse and were ready to ride into darkness. The single drops right before the Finnish Emma and their short tour through Finland, which is sold out in several cities.

Guitarist Markus Vanhala (Insomnium, Omnium Gatherum) shares, “With Cemetery Skyline, we’re stepping into previously untrodden musical directions – those darker alleys that we hold dear in our hearts but haven’t really wandered before. And we’re collectively very excited!”

Keyboardist Santeri Kallio (Amorphis) adds, “We all share a deep love for goth rock from the 80s and 90s. If you have to describe Cemetery Skyline’s diverse music, call us ambassadors of melodic, melancholic, and dark rock.”

Singer Mikael Stanne (Dark Tranquillity, The Halo Effect) dives into the paradoxical world of “northern solitude” with lyrics rooted in the Scandinavian gothic lifestyle.

“Nordic Gothic” is available as: Ltd. CD Digipak, 180g LP, and Digital album.

The stormtroopers played a key role in WW1, overcoming enemy defenses and capturing strategic positions, mirrored in the energetic character of the song. The setlist included popular songs from their debut album “Menschenmühle” and their subsequent EPs, as well as eight tracks from “Die Urkatastrophe”.

Kanonenfieber’s black and death metal aims to educate and raise awareness against the glorification of war. There is no glory in war. Everyone loses – their lives, their souls, their humanity. Available formats: Ltd. CD+Blu-ray Digipak, Gatefold 2LP, and Digital Album.

VILDHJARTA: The Return of Swedish Progressive Metal Pioneers

Since their formation in 2005 in Hudiksvall, Vildhjarta has built a career defined by mystique and groundbreaking artistry. With their dark, atmospheric, and technically demanding sound, they stand out with their down-tuned riffs and complex polyrhythms. Their unique blend of chaos and melody, accompanied by their enigmatic war cry “Thall,” is unmistakable.

After their debut album “Måsstaden” (2011) and the EP “Thousands of Evils” (2013), they returned in 2021 with “måsstaden under vatten.” This album continues the story of the isolated, mythical town and offers 80 minutes of intricate, haunting music that reaffirms their status as musical innovators.

Now, Vildhjarta is preparing to unveil “+ där skogen sjunger under evighetens granar +.” Their music continues to challenge conventions, weaving moments of unsettling beauty into aggressive sonic assaults. Their loyal fanbase eagerly anticipates each new chapter in their journey.

New Single: “+ sargasso +”

Vildhjarta presents “+ sargasso +,” a harrowing plunge into despair, isolation, and transformation. With haunting dissonance, crushing grooves, eerie atmospheres, and melodic vocals, this track embodies the perfect balance of chaos and melody. Ideal for deep introspection or diving into darkness, “+ sargasso +” is an unrelenting journey into the abyss. Thall.

Earlier this year VADER revealed some predictions for 2025:

“The new year will be even more intense. First of all, this spring will see the release of the completely new EP “Humanihility” since the release of “Solitude In Madness” in 2020, as well as the long-awaited reissue of the classic album “Black To The Blind” from 1997 in a new cover with the original cover by Jacek Wiśniewski. Both titles will be released by Nuclear Blast. The recording session for the next full length Vader album will also start in the fall of 2025! Next year will also be Vader’s return to the stages of summer festivals. And we will appear at 20 of them. 2025 will also be the 25th anniversary of the release of the album “Litany”. Therefore, in the summer season, you will be able to hear the entire album as part of a concert set. Most of the songs from this classic album for the band have not been played since its premiere in 2000, and some have never been played. So 2025 will be absolutely explosive and truly vaderish \m/ And we already INVITE you ALL !!! Expect our arrival under the banner of Massive Music \m/”

VADER released their 16th studio album “Solitude In Madness” on May 1st 2020 via Nuclear Blast.
