‘Bioluminescence‘ the new studio album from Dawn Of Ouroboros is out now for the whole world to hear. This record has turned heads with its incredible ability to mix elements of black metal, prog and jazz.

Lyrically inspired by nature and more specifically on Bioluminescence. The album is inspired by the ocean, the flora, fauna and alchemical magic of the sea that provides a rich seam of poetic beauty for the band to explore.

“Much like emotion, bioluminescence is a vibrant reaction to things in its environment,” vocalist Chelsea comments.

The contrast of harsh black metal shrieks and smooth, jazzesque moments mirrors the untameable nature of the ocean. An abyssal, claustrophobic thread runs through the sound of the album itself-expanding and contracting as the songs undulate and pulsate.

To celebrate the record’s release, the band has dropped a new mesmerizing video for the track ‘Dueling Sunsets’.

The band also kicked off their album release tour, below the remaining shows:

3/11 Phoenix, AZ @ Yucca Tap Room
3/12 Las Vegas, NV @ The Griffin
3/13 Salt Lake City, UT @ Quarters DLC
3/14 Richland, WA @ Ray’s Golden Lion
3/15 Portland, OR @ High Water Mark
3/16 Seattle, WA @ Substation

Listen to ‘Bioluminescence’ on Spotify, Apple Music, DEEZER, Amazon, Bandcamp.

TRACK LISTING:
1. Bioluminescence
2. Nebulae
3. Slipping Burgundy
4. Poseidon’s Hymn
5. Dueling Sunsets
6. Static Repetition
7. Fragile Tranquility
8. Mournful Ambience

Creatively spearheaded by guitarist Tony Thomas (also of Botanist) and vocalist Chelsea Murphy, DAWN OF OUROBOROS conjures up an atmospheric blend of black and death metal. Whilst Chelsea’s distinctive vocals both scathe and soothe, there is a vicious underpinning of progressive and propulsive extremity that unites their sound into something cohesive and alluring. Outside the band, Tony works as a molecular biologist – his thorough and research driven approach to his job carries over to the way he creates within the band. In contrast, Chelsea frequently improvises her vocal parts in the studio, allowing pure emotion to guide the development of lyrical concepts and delivery.

Writing for Bioluminescence started before Velvet Incandescence had even hit the streets; never ones to rest on their laurels, DAWN OF OUROBOROS were already feeling out their next steps and embracing their most adventurous songwriting journey to date. The album is peppered with odd time signatures and built from unorthodox song structures that draw from jazz influences as much as they do from any extreme metal inspirations.

Lyrically inspired by nature and more specifically on Bioluminescence, inspired by the ocean, the flora, fauna and alchemical magic of the sea provides a rich seam of poetic beauty for the band to explore. “Much like emotion, bioluminescence is a vibrant reaction to things in its environment,” Chelsea comments. The contrast of harsh black metal shrieks and smooth, jazzesque moments mirrors the untamable nature of the ocean.

An abyssal, claustrophobic thread runs through to the sound of the album itself – expanding and contracting as the songs undulate and pulsate. Bioluminescence was primarily self recorded, with additional engineering by Nick Loiacono at Fang Studios in San Mateo. The mixing was handled by Lewis Johns at The Ranch in Southampton, UK, and mastering was done by Grant Berry at Fader Mastering in Manchester, UK. The ethereal artwork was created by Alex Eckman Lawn.

DAWN OF OUROBOROS are illuminating the path forward as they approach the release of Bioluminescence. Once again they find themselves with much to celebrate as an even brighter future beckons.

DAWN OF OUROBOROS is:
Chelsea Murphy – Vocals
Tony Thomas – Guitars/Synths
Ian Baker – Bass/Piano
Ron Bertrand – Drums

FAIRYLAND Share New Video ‘A New Dawn’

French symphonic power metal band Fairyland are thrilled to share their new single and official visualizer video, “A New Dawn”, out now via Frontiers Music Srl.

Listen to “A New Dawn” HERE

Fairyland commented on the new single by saying: “It would be impossible to talk about a new release from Fairyland without mentioning the loss of Philippe Giordana, an original Osyrhian. ‘A New Dawn’ takes forward some of his last work, combining his compositions with new artistic input in the same grandiose musical style that is characteristic of the band; telling a story of the growth of light from darkness, triumph and hope in the face of adversity, and the continuation of a dream in the hearts of all who dream it”.

The band was formed in 1998 as Fantasia by Philippe Giordana and Willdric Lievin. Both musicians shared the same passion for epic and symphonic heavy metal. Fantasia recruited guitarist Anthony Parker and entered Wizard Studio in February 2002. During the recording, they found Elisa C. Martin, already known for her work with the power metal band Dark Moor.

At this time, the band’s name was changed to Fairyland. They signed a contract with NTS (now Replica Records). “Of Wars In Osyrhia” was released in April 2003. Shortly after, the band toured with Sonata Arctica and performed at the Swedish Rock Festival.

The second album “The Fall Of An Empire”, was recorded with: P. Giordana, A. Parker,  Max Leclerqc , Pierre-Emmanuel “Piwee” Desfray and Thomas “Tom” Cesario, and was released in 2006. A European tour with Kamelot and Leaves’ Eyes followed.
After the tour, the band split up. While working on the new material, Philippe decided to use the services of guest musicians for his next album. “Score To A New Beginning” was released in 2009, also marking the return of Willdric Lievin.

The fourth album “Osyrhianta” was released in 2020 (line-up: Philippe Giordana, Willdric Lievin, Francesco Cavalieri, JB Pol, and Sylvain Cohen).

Philippe Giordana passed away on October 21, 2022. In March 2023 Archie Caine was announced as the band’s new lead singer. In 2024 the line up was completed with Gideon Van Emmerloot, Brieuc De Groof and J.B Pol.

Line Up:
Archie Caine – Vocals
Willdric Lievin – Guitars, bass, backing vocals
Gideon Ricardo – Keyboards
Brieuc De Groof – Guitars
JB Pol – Drums

HYPERMASS Celebrate New “Apparition Day” EP Release with Single/Video ‘Cult Vendor’

Norway’s HYPERMASS return with their much-anticipated, new EP, Apparition Day, out now via Seek and Strike. The band have also released a video for the track, ‘Cult Vendor’.

Order Apparition Day here: https://orcd.co/hypermassad

HYPERMASS push the boundaries of conventionality showcasing their most riff-driven, catchy and ambitious work to date. Apparition Day is a natural evolution where grooviness and intensity are dialed up to the maximum, solidifying their reputation as a force to be reckoned with in modern metal. This is a must listen for fans of Between The Buried and Me, Periphery and Sikth.

HYPERMASS state: “Our new EP, Apparition Day, has been in the works for quite some time and we are truly excited to bring it to life and show you all what we have been working so hard on. Musically, it is more of everything that defines our style. The grooves, the melodies and the variety have all been kicked up a notch from our last output. while we also delve into some previously unexplored territory. On this release, we incorporate elements from genres such as jazz, blues, electronic, etc. Our main goal is to always push our music forward no matter what, and it’s important to us that we keep things fresh while maintaining our signature sound. Lyrically, the EP is a natural step forward from our debut album, Empyrean, as we explore a lot of the same themes throughout.

“On this EP we wrote about the human condition in the modern world, and how our craving for convenience trumps our social and creative needs. With the rise of artificial intelligence, we see a lot of people embracing it with open arms without a shred of critical thinking as to what is going to happen if we let it. There are a lot more themes throughout, but that would give you an idea of what to expect. As our last album was more conceptual, this has five stand-alone songs with each song having its own clear identity both lyrically and musically.

“The EP’s second single/video is for ‘Cult Vendor,’ which is a track we did pretty early in the writing process. When we wrote the main riff we knew this track had huge potential and had to finish it. It’s more mid-paced and groovy and has more of a thrash/death-element than the previous single. It has an immediate, undeniable catchiness to it that we decided it had to be one of the singles. The song is really fun to play live as well and gets the crowd going every time.

“The coalescing of styles has resulted in our signature sound. While a lot of modern metal bands seem to prioritize either heavy breakdowns or lightning-speed shredding, the most important thing to us is the riffs and the grooves. Our main goal while writing each song is to find new and exciting ways for it to groove. That has always been the centerpiece of our music, and we find ways to work around that to make it as interesting as possible using different layers and atmospheres. A lot of the time the vibe of our music is actually quite uplifting as well, unlike a lot of other bands within our genre.

“As the themes explore a lot of dark sides of the human psyche, we always feel it is best to balance that with a more upbeat approach to the music. We always love it when bands and artists have a contrast between the music and lyrics, as it makes the experience more multilayered and interesting. The most important thing to us is to keep the music fun and engaging, and if people wish, they can delve more into the themes of the lyrics on their own.”

Apparition Day track list:

01 – Supernova Collective
02 – Cult Vendor
03 – Neovortex
04 – Headcase
05 – A Perfect Imbalance

VENDETTA LOVE Release Video for New Single ‘Traced Out’

Ireland’s rising hard rock force Vendetta Love are back with a vengeance, releasing their new single  ‘Traced Out’, out now across all major streaming platforms.

Order here: https://show.co/MnJUrEt

Blending the raw grit of Seattle’s grunge scene with the electrifying attitude of LA’s Sunset Strip, Vendetta Love have been making serious waves since their formation in 2015. Over the past few years, they’ve built a formidable reputation, delivering high-octane performances and earning spots alongside heavyweights like Airbourne and Poets of the Fall. Their 2024 UK tour was a resounding success, culminating in headline shows at Whelan’s (Dublin) and Voodoo (Belfast).

Following the massive global airplay and critical acclaim of ‘Soothe’ and ‘Glue’, the band continued their momentum with ‘Walk Alone’, delivering both a high-energy version and an ‘almost’ acoustic rework. Then came ‘Ode’, an older gem, reintroduced to their rapidly growing fanbase.

Now, with ‘Traced Out’, Vendetta Love are set to turn up the volume once again. Fresh out of the studio and ready to ignite 2025, this new track promises huge riffs, gritty vocals, and the band’s signature fusion of brooding intensity and raw power.

Speaking of the new single, vocalist/guitarist, Shawn Mullen said; “It’s a song that deals, directly, with the loss of my little brother. I was waiting for the right moment, the right sound or melody, to speak about him. And not in a rose-tinted glasses way either. I wanted whatever the fuck I was going to say to be real and true to my experience with him. And so you have Traced Out. I think he’d like it. I’ve never written so directly before. It’s done now. Let it lie.”

Catch Vendetta Love in Dublin’s Whelans’ on, Saturday, July 5th with guests, Mine Road.
Tickets can be purchased here.

VENDETTA LOVE ARE:
Shawn Mullen – Guitar/ Lead Vocals
Chris Craig – Guitar
Neil Envoy – Bass/Vocals
Darren Flynn – Drums
