SOWULO, the musical project of Dutch composer Faber Horbach, will release a CD reissue of the 2016 album “Sol” through Season of Mist on June 19th, 2026. The album’s thirteen tracks trace the eight festivals of the pagan year wheel across a runtime of approximately 51 minutes, moving from the primordial void of Ginnungagap through the seasonal cycle and out into the galloping close of Arvakr and Alsvidr, the two horses of the Norse sun goddess.

“This year marks the 10 year anniversary of Sol: an acoustic and instrumental album that has always held a deeply personal place in my heart, as well as in the hearts of many who listen to Sowulo,” says Faber. “Sol was created during a time when I was deeply immersed in the pagan year feasts. At the time, I felt there was no music that truly resonated with these celebrations. That absence became a calling and Sol was my answer. I’m truly grateful to say that Sol is now back in stock and available through Season of Mist.“

Where Sowulo’s debut Alvenrad was orchestral and piano-led, Sol strips the same mythological territory back to a fully acoustic core: bouzouki, hammered dulcimer, nyckelharpa, Celtic harp, viola, and woodwinds. The result is lighter on its feet and more rhythmically driven than its predecessor—less meditative weight, more kinetic celebration. CeltCast described it as “pagan folk meets chamber music,” a phrase that captures the album’s dual register: earthy and ceremonial on one hand, intimate and precisely arranged on the other.

The album features Chloé Bakker on Celtic harp, Pan Bartkowiak on davul and percussion, Koen van Egmond on woodwinds, and Klaartje van Zwoll on viola, violin, and vocals, alongside Horbach himself.

The album has accumulated over 11 million streams, with Sol and follow-up Mann together surpassing 23.6 million streams combined. This CD reissue marks the first time the album is distributed to a wider European retail audience under a major independent label, coinciding with Sol‘s tenth anniversary and an exclusive anniversary performance at Castlefest, where Sowulo will play the album in full.

SOWULO is the evocative musical work of Faber Horbach, blending the spiritual philosophy of ancient Northern Europe with the continuous cycles of the universe.

Through the use of a wide array of historical instruments, melancholic melodies, and philosophical lyrics in Anglo-Saxon, Sowulo crafts an immersive sonic landscape that invites listeners to embark on an inner journey.

Weaving together the sounds of instruments like the Carnyx, Nyckelharpa, Celtic Harp, Shaman drums, Blow horns, Irish Bouzouki, Taglharpa, Lyre, Viola and various traditional vocal techniques, Sowulo shapes its distinctive sound.

The name “Sowulo,” meaning “Sun” in Proto-Germanic, reflects the essence of the music. As we circle the sun, we feel the cyclical nature of life: day and night, the four seasons, birth and death, and the eternal dance between decay and renewal.

Vision Divine has released a video for “18 (It Feels Like Heaven)”, first single taken from the new EP “A Clockwork Reverie” to be released on May 22 by Scarlet Records.

A man walks through the desert and meets an old stranger who tells him, «I’ve been waiting for you.» – the man doesn’t recall any appointment. The old man explains that they were meant to meet 18 years ago – for reasons unknown, it never happened. So he waited. The man then wakes up. It was all a dream. But as he walks through the city, lost in thought, he sees the same old man standing at a street corner – turning, as if expecting him.

IATT Unveil New Video for ‘Walk Amongst’ from Forthcoming Full-Length Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on April 17, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: IATT. Leave a comment

Philadelphia-based progressive black metal outfit IATT has unveiled a brand new video for the track “Walk Amongst”, taken from their forthcoming full-length album “Etheric Realms of the Night”, set for release on May 8 via Black Lion Records.

As the veil begins to tear, “Walk Amongst” emerges as the penultimate chapter of the band’s album and film – a visceral cinematic experience that merges extreme metal with narrative storytelling into a singular, immersive work.

Marking IATT’s fourth full-length studio album, “Etheric Realms of the Night” is conceived as a cohesive album-length film, with each track serving as a chapter in a larger narrative exploring the subconscious, dreams, sleep, and the fragile threshold between the waking world and what lies beyond the veil.

“Walk Amongst” represents the moment where everything converges. Returning to what appears to be normal life, our heroine begins to sense that reality is no longer anchored – familiar surroundings feel hollow, disconnected, and wrong. The chapter draws heavily on the concept of astral projection: the act of leaving one’s physical body to move freely through the dream realm, and the repercussions of wandering too far into sleep.

Sonically and visually, “Walk Amongst” carries a sense of inevitability, revealing that the line between worlds has already been crossed. As perception fractures and truth surfaces, it becomes clear that the heroine is not moving freely between realms, but controlled by another force.

Escalating the film toward its final act, “Walk Amongst” uses atmosphere, pacing, and cinematic restraint to expose the cost of the journey, pulling the viewer deeper into “Etheric Realms of the Night”.

Tracklist:

01. Drift Away
02. To Lie Beneath
03. Somniphobia
04. Pavor Nocturnus
05. Quietus
06. Walk Amongst
07. Hypnos

“Etheric Realms of the Night” drops May 8 via Black Lion Records and is available for pre-order at THIS LOCATION

Jay Briscoe – Vocals, Bass
Joe Cantamessa – Guitars

SOLAR MANTRA Release New Official Music Video ‘Avetrana’

While gearing up for the release of their upcoming album State of Joyful Lightness, due May 8th, 2026 via Argonauta Records, Roman stoner rockers Solar Mantra unveil the official music video for “Avetrana”.

“Avetrana” is the shortest and most punk-leaning track on the album, drawing musical inspiration from Qotsa’s more racy songs and other sludge-inspired ideas from bands like Mastodon. The lyrics speak of obsession and abuse, with a chorus that repeats “Will you be my baby?” As for the video, we decided with director Adelaide Fiori to show a maniac following the girl he’s obsessed with, at night, through the streets of Rome… In the end, she will have her revenge.

Formed in Rome, Solar Mantra started as a desert psych instrumental project before evolving into a full band with a strong vocal driven approach. Their debut full length Away, released by Argonauta Records in 2021, introduced them to a wider international audience thanks to its balance of fuzz, atmosphere and songwriting depth.

In 2025 Solar Mantra returned to the studio to record their second full-length album, State of Joyful Lightness, focusing on a heavier approach while keeping the melodic traits that defined their earlier work. The sessions saw the band collaborating with Danilo Silvestri as co-producer and sound engineer, pushing their sound toward a more massive and modern dimension.

BLACK RIVER DELTA Sign with Despotz Records, New Album Coming Later This Year

Black River Delta, the blues rock quartet from Bollnäs, Sweden, have made a name for themselves since their inception with a raw and soulful sound deeply rooted in the Swedish forests of Hälsingland.

Raised among pine trees, gravel roads, and long winters, their music carries a unique blend of darkness, melancholy, and drive—where influences from blues legends meet modern rock. The band has previously released the acclaimed albums Devil on the Loose (2016), VOL II. (2018), and Shakin’ (2021), shaping their sound through everything from Robert Johnson and R.L. Burnside to contemporary acts like The Black Keys, Gary Clark Jr., and BRMC.

Rather than looking toward American landscapes, Black River Delta draw inspiration from what’s closest to them—the surrounding forests, the roads along the E4 highway, and the constant tension between wanting to leave and wanting to stay. Carl-Marcus Gidlöf of Despotz Records comments on the signing:

“Black River Delta have had a great journey to get here, and we believe that with our international network of PR agents and our strong physical and digital distribution network via Virgin/Universal, we will be able to take things to new heights.”

Later this year, the band will release their new album via Despotz Records. On the upcoming record, they return to their roots and further deepen their sound—where modern rock meets classic blues, filtered through a Nordic melancholy in which silence, darkness, and solitude hold just as much weight as the music itself. More information about the album will be announced soon. The band members conclude:

“We’re joining forces with Despotz Records and together we’re cooking some hot shit. It feels incredibly exciting and we believe this will be a long lasting friendship.”

TORCHIA Release New Music Video ‘Hellmouth’ from Upcoming Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on April 17, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: TORCHIA. Leave a comment

Following the ominous tension of their single “Nekromanteion”, Finnish extreme metal force Torchia unveils the official music video for their next single, “Hellmouth,” from their forthcoming album “They Are Born Under Rules of the Darkness,” due out on May 8th, 2026, from Rockshots Records.

Produced by Janne Saksa and mastered by Dan Swanö, the track strikes with surgical precision and unrelenting force, driving Torchia’s sound into even darker, more extreme territory without sacrificing its unmistakable melodic core. “Hellmouth” signals a pivotal turn in the album’s narrative and sonic arc, throwing open the gates to its infernal center with a sharper, more immediate, and hard‑hitting assault.

Musically, “Hellmouth” captures the band at their most dynamic. The verses lean into tight, groove-driven riffing with a raw, almost physical immediacy. At the same time, the chorus expands into a triumphant melodic surge, revealing a strong connection to classic heavy and power metal traditions. For the first time, Villemorte introduces a clean vocal hook, adding a new dimension to Torchia’s sonic identity while retaining its full force.

Lyrically, the track initiates a three-part descent into Hell. A fallen angel renounces its divine nature, tearing away its wings to step beyond the threshold of damnation. The Hellmouth stands as both a passage and a point of no return, setting the tone for the album’s unfolding journey through the underworld.

Positioned as the second track, “Hellmouth” stands as a defining moment within the record, bridging atmosphere and impact while reinforcing the band’s ability to merge memorable songwriting with controlled aggression and darker textures.

Spotify – https://lnk.to/HvB0FN

Hailing from Tampere, Finland, Torchia has carved a distinctive identity rooted in thrash-infused melodic death metal, progressively enriched with darker tonal layers, orchestral arrangements, and a strong narrative backbone. Across their work, the band has shaped a cursed fictional realm inhabited by old gods, forbidden rituals, and supernatural forces, now fully realized within the gothic horror framework of “They Are Born Under Rules of the Darkness“.

With “They Are Born Under Rules of the Darkness“, Torchia consolidate their artistic direction, expanding their sound toward a more shadowed and blackened dimension while preserving the melodic and guitar-driven foundations that define their identity.

Recommended for fans of Behemoth, Cradle of Filth, and Children of Bodom, Torchia’s new album “They Are Born Under Rules of the Darkness” will be available on May 8th, 2026, from Rockshots Records.
