Following the excellent response to its debut single, “Stranger in a Strange Land,” performed by Mr. Jack, the Nuraghica project returns with a powerful new release, further confirming an artistic vision that is both ambitious and refreshingly original.
Starting today, July 17, 2026, the brand-new single “Born To Rock” is available on all major digital platforms through Wanikiya Record/Promotion, featuring one of the most iconic and theatrical voices from the Sardinian rock scene: Mr. Hyde.
Nuraghica was conceived by guitarist and composer Rob Richter, best known as the creative force and guitarist behind the legendary hard rock band Pyrodome. After years of experience in the hard rock world, Richter decided to create a completely new project capable of combining songwriting, artistic research, and collaboration between musicians from different musical backgrounds.
The concept is as simple as it is compelling: to create an album made up of original songs, each performed by a different guest vocalist, selected not to follow trends or marketing strategies, but purely to enhance the emotional depth and musical identity of each individual composition.
Each vocalist therefore becomes an essential piece of the project, bringing unique nuances, personality, and interpretation while preserving Nuraghica’s unmistakable musical identity.
The project’s roots run deep into the hard rock and heavy metal sounds of the 1980s and 1990s. The influence of the great bands that shaped an entire generation naturally emerges through powerful guitar riffs, melodic solos, atmospheric arrangements, and a modern production that successfully preserves the timeless appeal of classic rock.
Rather than being a nostalgic exercise, Nuraghica stands as a genuine tribute to a way of making rock music built on emotion, energy, and authenticity.
Nuraghica made its recording debut with “Stranger in a Strange Land,” performed by Mr. Jack, singer, musician, and President of Wanikiya Record/Promotion.
On that occasion, Mr. Jack contributed not only as the vocalist but also as the songwriter and creator of the vocal melodies, shaping an intense and emotionally charged track that explores feelings of alienation, the search for personal identity, and the courage to remain true to oneself even when the world seems to move in the opposite direction.
That first single became the artistic manifesto of Nuraghica, immediately establishing the project’s commitment to creative freedom, where every collaboration is born solely from a shared passion for music.
Today, that journey continues with a brand-new chapter.
For “Born To Rock,” Rob Richter selected Salvatore Chessa, better known as Mr. Hyde, a performer with a career spanning more than three decades and one of the most respected figures in Sardinia’s rock scene.
Mr. Hyde is an eclectic frontman capable of transforming every live performance into a theatrical experience. His deep, dark, and instantly recognizable voice is matched by a commanding stage presence developed through hundreds of live performances, creating a unique artistic personality that blends theatricality, raw energy, and emotional intensity.
His musical influences range from the theatrical rock of KISS and Alice Cooper to the dark and provocative atmosphere of Marilyn Manson, elements that have helped shape his unmistakable style throughout the years.
His musical journey began in the early 1990s with M.A.D., a band that quickly gained popularity throughout the local rock scene thanks to its intense live activity.
In 2005, the group evolved into the Mr. Hyde Band, releasing its first full-length album, “Mad,” the following year.
After the band’s breakup in 2011, Mr. Hyde joined forces with guitarist Francis Milia to create an original acoustic KISS tribute duo, active until 2015. The project resulted in the album “Kissin’ Time,” featuring classic KISS covers alongside three original songs.
In the following years, Mr. Hyde collaborated with several other bands, including Overload, before meeting guitarist Francesco Marini, also known as The Monk, in 2022.
Their partnership gave birth to The Nobodies, an extraordinary horror rock duo that combines music, theater, masks, chains, fake blood, costume changes, and dark visual storytelling, transforming every concert into a truly immersive experience.
The band’s debut album of original material is currently in production.
Early 2026 also marked the birth of Inglourious Bastards, a brand-new rock and roll band featuring several veteran musicians from the Sassari rock scene, preparing to make its official live debut.
Mr. Hyde’s involvement in Nuraghica perfectly represents the meeting point between two artistic journeys driven by the same philosophy: authenticity, passion, and an unwavering love for rock music.
Once again, Rob Richter confirms his vision of building a project where every singer is free to express their own artistic identity while maintaining the stylistic coherence that defines Nuraghica.
Most of the recordings continue to take place at Mount Rest Studio in Montresta, where a powerful and detailed production brings Rob Richter’s musical vision to life while remaining faithful to the spirit of classic international hard rock.
Nuraghica’s full-length album, currently in production, will feature several guest vocalists from the Italian rock and metal scene.
Among them will be Mr. Jack, who will return with selected performances, further reinforcing the collaborative and ever-evolving nature of the project.
With Nuraghica, Rob Richter demonstrates that rock music remains fertile ground for fresh ideas, meaningful collaborations, and artistic innovation without ever losing touch with its roots.
