LIK Celebrate New Album “Necro” Release with ‘Deceased’ Video

Swedish death metallers, LIK, today unleash their new video for “Deceased.” The track comes off their brilliantly brutal Necro full-length, released on April 18th via Metal Blade Records.

Within Necro‘s ten tracks, LIK – whose name translates to “corpse” in Swedish – has created a seamless album, diverse in tempo but without losing any of their blood-soaked intensity and relentless in-your-face-attitude listeners have come to expect. There are twists and turns that keep LIK on a progressive path without straying from their old-school trademark sounds inspired by the godfathers Dismember, At The Gates and, of course, Entombed.

Necro is the musical equivalent of a classic shock-horror movie that’s drenched in blood and gore and packed with over-the-top extremities. Delve beyond the zombified cover art created by Stockholm-based tattooist and artist Jens Olsson (Ink Fanatics), LIK‘s Necro serves as a reminder of just how special and exciting the genre is: packed with blood-curdling fantasy stories about war, death, zombies, world apocalypse, and murder all stacked with disgustingly rotten riffs.

Watch LIK‘s previously released video for “War Praise” HERE and “Morgue Rat” HERE.

Lauds Metal Hammer Germany of the release, “…LIK tells us blood-soaked, imaginative stories peppered with everything good death metal needs: zombies, necrophilia, murder, death, war, and dystopian end-time scenarios that culminate in total decay. Necro sounds classic yet contemporary. Not dusty, rotten, or mothballed, but fresh, spicy, and deadly precise. Swedish death metal as it couldn’t be more Swedish.” Dead Rhetoric champions the band’s “finest album to date,” adding, “It’s utterly abrasive, yet it never blurs together due to the way they can weave in melodies in just the right proportions. Necro is an absolute winner for anyone seeking death metal done right,” while Metal Temple crowns Necro “the Swedish death metal album of the year,” further noting, “It captures the spirit of the genre with flawless execution, proving that LIK stands at the top of the modern scene.”

Comments vocalist/guitarist Tomas Åkvik on “Deceased,” “This is the opening track of the album and it’s a total Entombed homage. It has everything from mid-tempo to skank beats. Lyric-wise, it’s about a guy who tries to come back from the dead to avenge his death.”

Necro was recorded at NBS Studio (AKA Necromorbus Studio) in Söderfors, two hours from the band’s home city. Once again using uber-producer Lawrence Mackrory (Meshuggah, Katatonia, High Parasite, Decapitated), all music was recorded live over a three-day period, before Åkvik headed to Uppsala to record his vocals at Mackrory’s Rorysound Studios. Mackrory has worked with LIK since their 2015 debut Mass Funeral Evocation and throughout their Metal Blade Records’ career that started with 2018’s Carnage. It’s clear upon first listen that with Necro, the quartet have produced some of the best work of their decade-plus long career.

Necro features guest appearances by Linnea Landstedt (Tyranex, Ice Age), Nick Holmes (Paradise Lost, Bloodbath), and Lawrence Mackrory (F.K.Ü.).

COGAS Premiere “Among the Dead: How to Become a Ghost” LP Ahead of Release

Ahead of its official release on April 24th, COGAS’ new album “Among the Dead: How to Become a Ghost” is now available for exclusive streaming via No Clean Singing. The Sardinian black-death metal band has crafted a record that is both raw and intricately composed. With a tighter focus on structure and technicality, the album deepens their blend of sorrowful black metal and crushing death metal, delivering an emotionally charged and immersive listen.

Stream “Among the Dead: How to Become a Ghost” HERE.

True to their DIY ethos, COGAS have once again taken full control of the creative and production process, shaping a record that is as raw and honest as it is intense and intricate. This new release pushes their sound into more technical and structured territories while maintaining a striking melodic thread that enhances the album’s deeply tragic concept.

With a violent yet precise riff-oriented approach and an unmistakable emotional intensity, COGAS deliver their most complete work to date. The album masterfully balances cold, sorrowful black metal atmospheres with a relentlessly powerful death metal rhythmic backbone, creating a dynamic interplay between melancholic melodies and sheer sonic force. This fusion of aggression and melody results in a dark and immersive experience that sets a new milestone in their artistic evolution.

The band commented:

“With this album, we give voice and sound to the pain of those who have been lost in the postcard-perfect hell called Sardinia.
Generational traumas—past, present, and future—are told through the wounds, both physical and spiritual, of an ordinary young man.

‘Among the Dead: How to Become a Ghost’ is our necessity and will to bring Sardinian extreme metal towards a bitter truth, setting aside the themes that have stagnantly plagued our musical world for too many years, in order to shed light on subjects we consider closer to reality.

Our album is the black shroud of suicidal death—mental and physical—of hundreds of young people from our island.
An island we so proudly flaunt as a monument to our virtues, when in reality, the virtues we boast about are nothing more than words carried away by the September mistral.

Thus, we dedicate this latest Opus to the souls who are losing themselves in our homeland, to those who have been lost, and to those who will be lost—guilty only of being too sensitive for a land cursed by its own allure.

Have the courage to break the chains you have fastened around your own wrists”.

Tracklist:

1. Dead Reflected
2. Among the Dead
3. Absorption of the Flesh through Self Abuse
4. Autopsy of an Hollow
5. On the Bank of the River Styx
6. Charon
7. The Noble Rot
8. La Fiamma che Respiro

COGAS was founded in 2015 by Piero Mura and Davide Ambu with the goal of bringing Sardinian extreme metal to the English scene. Initially a duo, the band expanded in 2018 and released their debut EP, “At the Gates of Pazuzu” (2019), after their first live performances in London.
They quickly gained recognition in the local underground scene, followed by the EP “Fuck Your Black Metal Scene” (2020) and their first full-length album, “Unconscious Sons of the Reptile God” (2021), which was well received across Europe. Despite a few line-up changes, COGAS continued performing and evolving, with new musicians contributing to their sound. In 2024, they recorded their second full-length album, “Among the Dead: How to Become a Ghost”, set for release in 2025.

For fans of: Dark Funeral, Deicide, Mgla, Hour Of Penance

HONEYMOON SUITE Share New Single And Video ‘Stay This Time’

Canadian melodic rock band HONEYMOON SUITE shares a new single called “Stay This Time.” A visualizer accompanies this fresh track.

Stream / Listen HERE

About the track, Derry Grehan comments:

“We had come to the end of the sessions for the new album and realized we still needed one more song. We found a rough demo of a track simply titled ‘HMS 5’
that we had forgotten about, and discovered it really had some potential. We all got excited about it.

“Johnnie and I were on a cruise ship at the time and, in my cabin, we finished writing the lyrics to the song which became ‘Stay This Time.’ When we got home, Johnnie went straight into the studio and cut the vocal.”

Featuring core band members Johnnie Dee (Lead Vocals), Derry Grehan (Guitars/Keyboards/Background Vocals), Dave Betts (Drums), Gary Lalonde (Bass), and Peter Nunn (Keyboards), HONEYMOON SUITE plans to continue to create new music and tour year round thanks to a legion of loyal fans.

HONEYMOON SUITE was originally formed in 1981 by lead vocalist and guitarist
Johnnie Dee from Niagara Falls, Ontario. After the departure of the original lead guitarist, fellow Niagara Falls native Derry Grehan joined the band. Together, Johnnie and Derry rebuilt the lineup, adding Dave Betts on drums, Ray Coburn on keyboards, and Gary Lalonde on bass. The band quickly hit the road, performing six nights a week and writing relentlessly with hopes of securing a record deal.

In 1983, they entered a demo of “New Girl Now” into a homegrown contest hosted by Toronto rock station Q107. Winning the contest led to a multi-album deal with WEA Canada, signed by industry legend Bob Roper.

Their debut self-titled album, released in July 1984, was an immediate success. With massive airplay, videos in heavy rotation on MTV and MuchMusic, and national touring, the album went on to sell over 300,000 units in Canada alone.

Since then, HONEYMOON SUITE has released seven studio albums, with over 1 million units sold worldwide. They’ve produced a string of classic rock hits, including:
“New Girl Now,” “Burning In Love,” “Wave Babies,” “Stay in the Light,” “Feel It Again,” and “What Does It Take.”

The band has earned numerous accolades, including:
·      A Juno Award for Group of the Year (1986)
·      Triple platinum sales in Canada for their first three albums
·      Platinum sales for their 1989 greatest hits release, ‘The Singles’
·      A 2015 SOCAN award recognizing 100,000+ radio performances in Canada for multiple tracks

They’ve toured extensively across Canada, the U.S., and Europe, sharing the stage with artists such as ZZ Top, Heart, Billy Idol, Journey, Bryan Adams, Saga, Loverboy, Jethro Tull, and .38 Special.

Their songs have also appeared in major TV shows like Miami Vice and Bones, and films including Lethal Weapon and One Crazy Summer.

While the 1990s brought lineup changes, the early 2000s saw the reunion of the original members — Johnnie, Derry, Gary, and Dave — along with the addition of keyboardist Peter Nunn, a lineup that remains strong to this day.

In 2020, with a renewed creative spark and a catalog of new songs, Johnnie and Derry connected with acclaimed Canadian producer and songwriter Mike Krompass (credits include Everybody Loves An Outlaw, Steven Tyler, Theory of a Deadman, and Smash Mouth). Mike brought a fresh, modern edge to the band’s signature melodic rock style. His role as co-writer and producer was key in shaping the sound of their highly anticipated eighth studio album.

The first single, “Tell Me What You Want,” dropped in October 2019 and was met with strong support from fans and radio. The follow-up single, “Find What You’re Looking For,” released in June 2020, became a Top 30 hit on Canadian Billboard AOR radio, marking HONEYMOON SUITE’s first chart appearance in 19 years.

Their 2023 release, ‘Alive,’ confirmed that the band is still at the top of their game. Produced by Mike Krompass, the album blends soaring vocals, unforgettable guitar riffs, and tight production into a timeless collection of arena-worthy rock anthems.

HONEYMOON SUITE are:
Johnnie Dee – lead vocals
Derry Greham – guitars / keyboards / backing vocals
Dave Betts – drums
Gary Lalonde – bass
Peter Nunn – keyboards

BLACKFIRE to Release New Single ‘Big Billions’ on May 2nd

Following the success of their powerful ANZAC tribute, ‘Let’s Not Forget‘, pioneering Indigenous rock band BLACKFIRE return with a bold new track, ‘Big Billions‘, set for release on May 2nd via Golden Robot Records. The single is available for pre-save now and continues the band’s trademark blend of social commentary and soulful, rock-infused storytelling.

Pre-save ‘Big Billions’ HERE

Lifted from their forthcoming album ‘Solar Eclipse’, ‘Big Billions‘ turns a critical eye to the illusion of wealth and the cost of chasing fortune. With lyrics that speak to rising inequality, mental health struggles, and a growing lack of connection in modern life, the song asks a simple but profound question: What does it really mean to be rich?

Built on a steady groove and layered with emotive vocals, ‘Big Billions’ captures the heart of what makes Blackfire so essential: their ability to mix rhythm and message in a way that resonates deeply. It’s both a wake-up call and an invitation to re-evaluate what really matters in life.

This new single affirms Blackfire‘s role not just as musicians, but as messengers – challenging systems, honouring culture, and inspiring unity.

Formed in Melbourne in 1992, Blackfire toured nationally and internationally for over a decade, becoming a powerful voice in both music and Indigenous cultural expression. After a break starting in 1999, the band began reuniting for select shows from 2018 onward. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, original members Selwyn Burns, Grant Hansen, and Brad Brown rekindled the fire – and with it came a revitalized lineup.

Joining the original trio are Radical Son (David Leha) on lead vocals, Peter Moore on drums, Rod Crundwell on keys, and additional members Monica McDonald and Leonie Whyman on backing vocals and percussion. Daniel Jauregui adds power on second lead guitar, giving the group an even fuller, more dynamic sound.

‘Big Billions‘ is available for pre-save now HERE and will be officially released on May 2, 2025, via Golden Robot Records.

DISSENTOR weaves this narrative through Aquib, Vedanta, Arun, and Krzysztof in the debut EP “Flagella” portraying the unspoken corrupted path to purification, of a belief in a saviour, awaiting in the perfect irony, becoming an absurdist trap between worship and torment.

Composing within the lightless Delhi dungeons, Aquib chanced upon Vedanta after a decade of no contact on a lifeless afternoon of 2020, sharing opposing worldviews of internalised mass belief and hypocrisy, that would lead to their first ever collaboration, DISSENTOR. Arun soon joined to offer subterranean lows in complete atonal despair, while Krzysztof became the final piece, lending his finesse to percuss through the EP’s oceanic chaos.

Songs for debut EP titled “Flagella” were composed, written, engineered and produced by Aquib Rahman. EP was mixed and mastered by Aquib Rahman. Cover artwork was done by Peapounder. Drum parts were recorded by Polish well known drummer Krzysztof Klingbein who is drummer of Totenmesse, live drummer of Austrian Belphegor and in the past was working with such great bands as Vader, Hate, Batushka, Kranium and more.

TRACKLIST:

1. Serving the Nails 02:06
2. Condemned to Fumes 02:33
3. Slaves After Life 02:20
4. Defiler 03:05

“Flagella” EP will be released on April 24, 2025 in digital format and limited 7″ vinyl as independent release. Pre-order is available at Bandcamp (here).

Today – few days before official release date, DISSENTOR together with Metal Worship Promotion presents exclusive pre-listening of upcoming EP!

Time To Kill Records is proud to announce the signing of Michigan-based death metal force RECORRUPTOR for the release of their upcoming third album, “Sorrow Will Drown Us All”.

The band has poured relentless dedication into crafting this new chapter — a true masterclass in modern, riff-driven death metal. Balancing sharp technical precision with raw, unyielding power, the record delivers songs that are both intricately structured and fiercely direct, avoiding excess in favor of impact.

With “Sorrow Will Drown Us All”, RECORRUPTOR prove once again that their vision of extreme music is as focused as it is ferocious.

More details on the album will be revealed soon. Stay tuned.

Biography:

Born from a relentless need for speed and a commitment to preserving pure, unfiltered riff-driven death metal, RECORRUPTOR has carved out a name for themselves through explosive live performances and unflinching intensity. Since their formation in 2016, the Michigan-based band has released two full-length albums — “Bloodmoon” (2017) and “The Funeral Corridor” (2020) — both of which paved the way for extensive regional touring and support slots alongside genre titans such as Cannibal Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder, Suffocation, Morbid Angel, and Cattle Decapitation.
Refining their sound with each release, RECORRUPTOR entered the studio in 2023 to record what stands as their most focused and ferocious effort to date: “Sorrow Will Drown Us All”. A culmination of years spent sharpening their craft, the new album captures the band at their most precise, punishing, and unapologetically extreme.

For fans of: Aborted, Cattle Decapitation, Suffocation, Carnifex

Line-up:

Clint A. Franklin – Vocals
Seth Earl – Guitar
Isaac Marier – Guitar
Alex Schmidt – Bass
