OCEANS ON ORION Release New Single + Video ‘Breaking The Habit’, Ft.Danny Ly Ziser

OCEANS ON ORION bring a fresh take on Breaking the Habit by Linkin Park, infused with scorching djent-style riffs, Nu-Metal energy, and a cyberpunk touch.

The video, set in a dystopian war zone, gives Breaking the Habit a cinematic and intense twist, launching this Linkin Park classic straight into the chaos of 2025!

Lev Kerzhner (frontman) says:

“Let’s start with a confession. As a kid, I didn’t like Nu-Metal.

For me, Linkin Park was one of those bands that “ruined the fun of the ‘80s”—too heavy, too weird, and what was up with all the rap thing?! But everything changed when, right before finishing my military service, I gave Meteora another listen.

Needless to say, I fell in love. And ever since, I’ve carried this little dream of doing my own version of one of its tracks.

I chose Breaking the Habit after hearing it during a previous Linkin Park tribute. That’s when I realized this song—with its minimalistic arrangement and flawless writing—was the perfect canvas to experiment with. So, I put together a demo! And then I got called up for reserve duty. Because that’s just how this year has been.

Luckily, I had Aviram Ze’evi on drums, my buddy Yadin Moyal laying down some killer session guitars, and the cyberpunk-inspired keys of Tal Galefsky (formerly of Moonskin). On top of that, an incredible guest appearance by my soul sister from the distant north, Danny Ly Ziser. All wrapped up in an Oceans On Orion-style production, mixed by the one and only Yonatan Kossov.

And this is the result.”

HERMAN RAREBELL & FRIENDS Release New Single And Video ‘Love Is A Battlefield’

HERMAN RAREBELL & FRIENDS release the new single ‘Love Is A Battlefield’, which will be available on all known streaming providers now.

The song is taken from the new studio album “What About Love?”, which will be released on 11 April on Metalville Records.

Herman says about this song: “I heard this tune for the first time on our tour bus in 1983 and was immediately amazed at how the song performed, especially on the drums. It was a pleasure for me to record this song again with all the power and passion.”

Welcome to our journey back to the future! Herman Rarebell & Friends take you back to the eighties and together we return to our very time with the  greatest music of this powerful decade. Herman has chosen twelve songs to re-record with good friends and great musicians. As a tribute to the greatest hits of a time that was a golden age for him personally. Former Black Sabbath bassist Bob Daisley can be heard on this album, as can Dann Huff, who can be heard as a studio musician on some of the greatest albums in pop history, as well as Howard Leese from the legendary US rockers Heart and singer Michael Voss (Casanova, Mad Max, Michael Schenker). What an ensemble, what a pleasure.

Herman about this time: “I think that more powerful music has never been created before or since. It was the golden age for me, I enjoyed it. We traveled the world with the Scorpions, we met people from all cultures. It was one big rush. Anything was possible at any time. With this album, I don’t just want to bring back memories of the great hits of the eighties. It’s not just about the melodies and rhythms that I miss today. Above all, it’s about the feeling that these songs convey. The love, the courage, the optimism that is in them. I think a lot of that has been lost. The groove in “Here I go again”, the larger-than-life chorus of “I Love Rock’n’Roll” and the unshakeable power of “Rock You Like A Hurricane”. The love and longing of “I want to know what Love is”. It’s no wonder that these songs have held a place in people’s hearts for four decades. For me, the power, the special spirit of the eighties is in every chord of these songs, every hit on the bass drum. Every take we recorded for this album was pure pleasure. Friends who play great music. We hope you feel what we’ve put into these new recordings: Love, power, optimism! For me, that’s the power of the eighties! Anyone who was there will remember. And anyone who missed it deserves to relive it, at least in this way.

With this in mind: Here I am – Rock you like a Hurricane!”

The album was produced by Herman Rarebell and Michael Voss at Kidwood Studios in Münstertal, Black Forest.

RÝR Announce New Album “Dislodged” + Unleash Video for First Single ‘Flung’

Berlin-based instrumental post-metal/doom band rýr has carved out a unique space in the genre by balancing crushing heaviness with haunting atmospherics. With their third full-length album, “Dislodged”, the trio has refined their sound to its most powerful and evocative form yet. “Dislodged” will see the light of day on April 11 via Moment Of Collapse Records and with “flung” the band has unleashed a first glimpse of what to expect.

Listen to “flung” HERE

The track is accompanied by a brand new music video, which you can watch here:

Post-metal and doom often lean either into ethereal ambiance or relentless heaviness, but rýr masterfully bridges the gap. Founded in 2018 by guitarist Marius Jung, the band – now consisting of Jung, bassist Florian Fricke, and drummer Eric Knoop – has always sought to fuse pounding rhythms and intricate riffs with immersive atmospheres. With “Dislodged”, they have fully realized this vision.

From the very first track, “Dislodged” envelops the listener in a swirling storm of sonic textures. Each song builds tension through hypnotic, layered guitar work before exploding into crushing crescendos of distortion and thunderous percussion. The dynamic interplay between the instruments creates an almost cinematic experience, as if the music itself is telling a wordless story of struggle and resilience.

Despite its heaviness, the album is not without moments of fragile beauty. Ethereal melodies weave their way through the dense instrumentation, offering fleeting glimpses of hope before being swallowed by the abyss once more. This delicate balance between despair and catharsis is what sets rýr apart in the post-metal landscape.

Tracklist:

  1. Flung
  2. Winded
  3. Dislodged
  4. Lapsed
  5. Foiled

“Dislodged” is an immersive and deeply affecting listen, solidifying rýr as a standout act in the genre. Fans of Russian Circles, Cult of Luna, and Amenra will find much to appreciate in its masterful blend of atmosphere and aggression. With this album, rýr has fully refined its musical identity – a sound that lingers in memory long after the final chord has faded.

The album will be coming out on April 11 via Moment of Collapse Records and is available for pre-order at THIS LOCATION

rýr are:
Marius Jung – Guitars
Florian Fricke – Bass
Eric Knoop – Drums

TEETH OF THE FAE Unveils Music Video for ‘Cells Below The Shroom Homes’

Innovative instrumental dungeon synth and folk project Teeth of the Fae invites listeners on a mystical descent with the release of the music video for “Cells Below The Shroom Homes”, taken from the forthcoming album Beneath Pointed Hat, due for release on 28 March 2025.

Step beyond the veil and beneath the mycelium canopy—“Cells Below The Shroom Homes” conjures an eerie, immersive journey where nature’s whimsy twists into shadowed cruelty. With a spellbinding fusion of dark dungeon synth, ethereal new-age tones, and neofolk spirit, the track paints a sonic tapestry of both beauty and dread.

Teeth Of The Fae emerged in January 2024, with Jamie Prentice crafting a distinctive blend of dungeon synth and dark ambient, rooted in Faerie Lore and English landscapes. The debut album, I Can Feel This Land Breathe, arrived in March 2024, followed by releases exploring Catholic imagery (Comforted By Sorrow, A Heart Full of Swords) and a fusion of dungeon synth with neofolk (Our Ways Are the Old Ways).

In July 2024, The Unseen Beckons introduced a raw, folky black metal sound, influenced by Finnish tremolo melodies and Catholic themes. Now, with Beneath Pointed Hat, Teeth Of The Fae blends dungeon synth, neofolk, and whimsical elements, drawing from Mortiis, Enya, and Ulver.

Beneath Pointed Hat, set for release via Wormholedeath, marks a new chapter. It invites listeners deeper into Teeth Of The Fae’s enchanting and otherworldly soundscapes.

Beneath Pointed Hat is a wordless serenade from the gnome realms—a mesmerizing blend of dark dungeon synth and ethereal new-age tones, sprinkled with delicate touches of neofolk. Enchanting and enigmatic, the album beckons listeners into a folklore-laden soundscape, where every note whispers an untold tale from beneath the mossy earth.
