Titans of extreme progressive metal, Ne Obliviscaris, have announced a full national tour across all capital cities this June, yes that includes Perth!  This show is the bands most ambitious yet, with the band performing a special 2 hour set, playing both their Citadel and Exul albums in full.

After forming way back in 2003 in Melbourne, Australia it was their Citadel album that finally launched them into the international metal scene upon its release back in 2014. To celebrate that record NeO released an updated 10th anniversary, re-mastered edition of Citadel, just a few months ago. 

Citadel stands as a monolith in NeO catalogue. Epitomising their unique blend of ferocity and grace. With the recent remaster, the band has meticulously resurrected the album’s original power, ensuring every note, every growl, and every whisper of the violin rings clearer and more haunting than before.

The June tour will also see the Australian debut of new frontman, James Dorton on vocals! James has toured across the world with NeO over the last two years and the band are excited to finally showcase his incredible talents to their Aussie fans.

Finnish melodic death/folk metal band Warfarer have released the instrumental version of their debut concept album “A Tale Beyond the Pale”, which was released at the end of 2024 via Inverse Records.

The band comments:

“We’ve always been fans of instrumental releases and knew we wanted to do the same with our debut album. Some aficionados prefer music without vocals, while others might want to create their own karaoke versions.

Back when our singer Kalle was learning to sing, he struggled to find quality instrumental metal tracks to practice with. It was frustrating how rare they were. We wanted to change that. By releasing this instrumental edition, we hope to give aspiring vocalists the chance to sing along with their favorite tracks. We also encourage other bands to do the same and make it easier for the next generation of metal singers.

Meanwhile, pre-production for our next EP is nearing completion. This new release will delve deeper into the events and experiences that have shaped our Northern stories. Rousing choruses guaranteed!”

Greek atmospheric black metallers LUCIFER’S CHILD premiere lyric video for new single “As Bestas”, lifted from the band’s anticipated third studio album “The Illuminant”, due out March 28th via Agonia Records.

After a seven year slumber which LUCIFER’S CHILD slipped into following its last full-length record “The Order” – a slumber veiled in shadow and silence – the Greek black metal quartet reawakens the fire which never fully ceased to burn or amaze. In a phoenix-like reprise, the group channels the heights of its esoteric ponder and the depths of its harrowing despair into “The Illuminant”.

The album marks a profound evolution in LUCIFER’s CHILD sound, aspiring to “a journey deeper into the abyss and the emotions, where the extreme meets the melodic, and the unseen becomes manifest,” points out co-founder/guitarist George Emmanuel (ex-Rotting Christ, ex-Chaostar, Necromantia). “Our new album represents a bold evolution in our sound. It is an intense journey that blends the dark, the emotion, and the melody. With eight blasphemous tracks, it is both a reckoning and a revelation, a fire that consumes but also renews. This is our revelation, and we can’t wait to share its intensity across the stages.”

“The Illumimnant” was produced, mixed and mastered by George Emmanuel at Pentagram Studio (Demonical, Septicflesh, Necromantia) with the exception of drums which were recorded at Pale Blue Dot Studios. The album’s cover artwork was hand-drawn by Daniele Valeriani (Dark Funeral, Mayhem).

LUCIFER’S CHILD was formed in 2013 in Athens (Greece) by said George Emmanuel and bassist Stathis Ridis (ex-Nightfall). The duo quickly expanded into a quartet, with vocalist Marios Dupont (Karma Violens) and drummer Nick Vell (Chaostar), and released the debut album “The Wiccan” in 2015. Encouraged by the album’s reception, which entailed a string of  festival dates (inc. Inferno Festival, Blastfest and Incineration Festival), they delivered a follow-up record titled “The Order” (2018). The album successively emphasized the band’s classic black metal approach, heavy on atmosphere and replete with dark aesthetics, all the more highlighted by Daniele Valeriani‘s cover artwork. The music video for the album’s title song hit over 150k streams on YoutTube and over 500k on Spotify. The collision of Brazilian occultism & Hellenic blasphemy ensues blistering sonic impressions on “Under Statn’s Wrath” – the band’s last output, recorded in alliance with Mystifier and released in 2022. Intact since its formation, LUCIFER’S CHILD line-up welcomes a new bassist on the upcoming album “The Illuminant”, Kostas Gerochristos.

The album “On Day Seven He Regretted” marks a bold evolution for Dosgamos, building upon the foundation laid by their 2022 release, Wrapped Renaissance. This new track is a testament to the band’s growth and artistic ambition, with Vinnie (guitar) and Elia (drums) taking full control of the songwriting. Their collective vision has resulted in a more powerful and cohesive sound that blends complex rhythms and harmonic depth, enriched by the band’s unique blend of influences.

Drawing from the heavy hitters of the metal world like Decapitated, Meshuggah, and Destrage, and incorporating jazz-rock elements inspired by icons like Miles Davis and Snarky Puppy, Dosgamos has created an unmistakable sonic identity. Michele’s vocals—infused with the spirit of Corey Taylor and Phil Anselmo—add further emotional weight to the track, elevating its intensity and lyrical complexity. Milarevan’s striking album artwork visually complements the themes of disillusionment and the search for truth that run through the album, while Alessandro’s guitar contributions and the expert mixing by Ronnie Björnström round out the album’s innovative sound.

Formed in 2018, Dosgamos has been carving out a unique niche in the metal landscape, blending powerful grooves with intricate melodies. The band features Michele Altavilla’s dynamic vocals, along with drummer Gorath (Stormcrow), bassist Giulio Garibaldi, and guitarist Vinnie (Injury). Following the pandemic, they completed their debut album, “Wrapped Renaissance,” which was recorded in late 2021 and released in 2022.

THE FIFTH ESTATE Drop ‘Hold You Closer’ Single & Video from Upcoming Album

A rock band out of a factory section of Stamford, CT by way of NYC. THE FIFTH ESTATE often played 5 or 6 hours a night, 6 nights a week, for months at a time. They rocked harder and heavier than most bands of the 60s. This did them no great service due to the AM Radio pop required of the day. So on a bet at a NYC party they jokingly did “Ding Dong The Witch is Dead”. It was a huge hit around the world. This and 3 other hits moved them on to huge concert around the country. Live they were ahead of things in the 60s and as Tomorrow Is My Turn could show you they already played what would become the thing in the 70s and again in the 90s and then and now again with bands like Oasis in the 2020s.

They stayed all these years doing what they do. Sometimes underground. Sometimes above ground. And now they will release a timeless album called THEN and NOW of all new tunes and a few covers. With the great guitar player and Grammy Winning producer Paul Nelson (Johnny Winter) on it, you can hear all that again. Starting with the first single “Hold You Closer”.

As Ken Evans states about the first single, “”Hold You Closer” is a rather beautifully heart felt tune about life and love when in the music business. May be understood by most musicians instantly and then soon by all. From Lover’s Leap Bridge to the exhilarating real thing all in a day and night.” There are 15 songs in all with an amazing rendition of the classic “Great Balls of Fire”.
