UNTIL DEATH OVERTAKES ME Premiere “Diagenesis” LP Ahead of Release

Ahead of its release this Friday on the twisted Aesthetic Death roster, today No Clean Singing presents an exclusive stream of “Diagenesis”, the new LP from enigmatic funeral doom entity UNTIL DEATH OVERTAKES ME. Stream the album HERE.

“Diagenesis” is due out December 6th 2024 via Aesthetic Death.

White light died, aeons away from home. Reality is fundamentally altered. Mutilated, it lurches on, as if blind to what has gone missing, to what will never return.

UNTIL DEATH OVERTAKES ME (UDOM for short), active since 1999, resides somewhere in the more murky reaches of the doom genre. Often called ambient funeral doom, UDOM’s sound is always undergoing subtle changes, and delivers introspective musical journeys to and through the darker and more tortured places of the human mind.

Since inception, UDOM has released 18 albums. The majority of these were self-released, targeting primarily digital-only platforms. “Diagenesis” is a culmination of inner torments which, having grown over the years, finally find a release through 4 lengthy tracks. Starting with a dream through which the dead communicate for the very last time, and from which the realisation is born that the act of remembering, preserving, lies wholly with the living. Realising the burden is subject to one’s own slow decay, guilt so powerful it seems only death can solve it, sets in. Yet that same death will not be avoided, and until then, we may dream. “Diagenesis” ends with a tribute to the dead of whom memories are fading, which ends up speaking more of the own despair, eventually faltering as it realises it will never reach those who can no longer hear.

“Diagenesis”. The final act of the dead. To become one with the surroundings whence they came, to become indistinguishable from the rest of reality, and effectively, to vanish as if they’d never existed. To leave the living despairing with the knowledge that no matter how deep they dig, in earth and mind, the dead shall never be found again.

Bereavement ravages the mind, and time promises to blunt its strength. A pale wasteland may recover one day, but the guilt that comes with fading memories takes root instead.
And here, time only strengthens it. As clear images become abstract dreams, guilt bears down with its growing, crippling mass.

The only ones to understand, who could ever forgive, have already gone ahead, and are those same ones fading out of view.

And when they’re truly gone, only death may forgive.

JUST REBORN Drop Powerful Anthem of Hope And Strength ‘Ad Aspera’

Female-fronted symphonic power metal band JUST REBORN has unveiled its latest single, “Ad Aspera. “ The poignant exploration of overcoming darkness and finding the strength to rise above is taken from the critically acclaimed album Formae Mentis.

The song is about the “power of dreams” as a useful tool for dealing with life’s complexity. It also discusses the fear of opening one’s eyes and finding oneself in a reality where hate and falsehood rule (“I opened my eyes. It felt so different than before. Your innocent face now has turned into a masquerade—of hate!”).

You can win through the power of dreams (“Wake in your dreams go ahead and try to scream” … “Stay in the eagle’s eye your time has come to fly”) …believe in dreams… (“Believe in all your dreams and fight hold on, it won’t be long and then you’ll see the sun and reach for the sky”).

It is a very reflective song like many others in “Formae Mentis” but it also delivers a positive message, especially to young people.

Formae Mentis: A Masterpiece of Symphonic Power Metal

“Ad Aspera” is just one gem from the treasure trove that is “Formae Mentis. Crafted over three years, “Formae Mentis” is a concept album that delves into the intricate labyrinth of the human mind. Each track is a testament to the band’s dedication, showcasing influences ranging from classical music to power metal, medieval echoes to progressive rock, blues to lyrical opera. This rich tapestry of sounds has been meticulously woven together, resulting in a symphonic power metal album that is both unique and compelling.

Ukrainian melodic metal band Ignea have taken their first step into the world of video games with a groundbreaking debut in the highly anticipated game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. Developed by Kyiv-based GSC Game World, the game intertwines Ukrainian culture, history, and artistry.

True to its commitment to authentically represent Ukraine, the game exclusively features music by Ukrainian artists, and Ignea stand out as one of the few metal acts included. Fans can enjoy no fewer than seven songs and two instrumental versions, which enrich the in-game radio experience and immerse players in the hauntingly atmospheric world of the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone.

Ignea comment: “From the very beginning, people told us our music felt like it belonged in video games, and we’ve always dreamed of making that a reality. To have our songs featured in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, a project born from the resilience and creativity of Ukrainian developers, is a profound honor. This game isn’t just entertainment—it’s a cultural milestone and a symbol of Ukraine’s strength. We’re incredibly proud to contribute our sound to such a powerful, historic Ukrainian creation.”

With over one million copies sold within 48 hours of release, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 stands as both a gaming triumph and a cultural milestone, amplifying Ukrainian voices on a global stage. Through their music, Ignea contribute to this legacy, blending the power of metal with the enduring spirit of their homeland.

In further news, Ignea have just released a first live performance video for the track ‘Leviathan’, which was shot during the mighty Bloodstock Festival of 2024. The full set will be made available later this year.

Ignea is a Ukrainian melodic metal band that mixes heavy riffs with symphonic, electronic, and folk elements, creating a powerful OST-like experience. Every release is backed by heavy story-telling, making their art more than just music.

In the beginning of their career, Ignea was the first Ukrainian metal band to release an original song with the full symphonic orchestra ‘Alga’, a hymn named after the battle cry of Crimean Tatars who are defending their land, released after the Crimea annexation. The video for the song now counts nearly 10 million views.

According to the national awards The Best Ukrainian Metal Act, the band’s second album The Realms of Fire and Death has been selected as the metal album of the year and Ignea has been named the best Ukrainian metal band of 2020. This album has been fully funded by the band’s patrons at the Patreon platform.

After touring Europe several times, and releasing 2 LPs and 2 EPs independently, Ignea won quite a big support from fans from all over the world and ended up signing with one of the biggest metal labels, Napalm Records.

Despite the full-scale war, the band managed to release a full-length album in 2023 dedicated to the Ukrainian travel writer and photographer Sofia Yablonska, play multiple charity shows in Ukraine, and embark on a EU/UK tour with the legendary Fear Factory, playing 43 shows within 2 months.

Ignea also proudly serves as cultural ambassadors for Ukraine, diligently raising awareness about the country’s ongoing situation among their international fanbase. Their recent performance at ESNS, Europe’s biggest showcase festival, further solidifies their status, alongside appearances at Wacken, Summer Breeze, Bloodstock, Leyendas del Rock, and selected club shows this summer as they lend their support to the esteemed Cradle of Filth and Epica.

Ignea are:
Helle Bohdanova — vocals
Yevhenii Zhytniuk — keyboards
Oleksandr Kamyshin — bass
Ivan Kholmohorov — drums
Dmytro Vinnichenko — guitars

Anima Inside, one of South America’s (Ecuadar) most dynamic and boundary-pushing rock bands, returns with their latest single, “Alien”. This track offers a mesmerizing preview of the band’s forthcoming album set to release in 2025. True to their spirit of innovation, the band describes “Alien” as one of their most unique creations. It captures the essence of their evolution—an ever-expanding fusion of styles that remains unmistakably their own.

With its hypnotic blend of influences, “Alien” delivers a fresh and timeless sound. The song features an intricate guitar solo, vibrant rhythmic layers, and an emotive message that resonates deeply with today’s listeners. As the band puts it, “It’s probably the strangest song we’ve ever created, but it has something that makes you want to hear it over and over. The fusion, the solo, the message—it’s very Anima Inside and incredibly current.”

Since their beginnings in 2006, Anima Inside has been known for its ability to blend progressive rock roots with modern, mainstream accessibility. “Alien” encapsulates this evolution perfectly, balancing technical prowess with a raw emotional edge. The song’s themes of alienation and introspection echo the band’s ongoing exploration of the human condition, a recurring motif in their music.

This single marks the next step in a career that has seen Anima Inside perform alongside legends like Ozzy Osbourne, Deep Purple, and KISS, and share stages at major festivals such as Hell and Heaven Fest Mexico and Domination MX. Their sound has always defied easy categorization, weaving elements of progressive rock, Andean rhythms, and Afro-Latin influences into a style that is distinctly their own.

“Alien” is a testament to the band’s commitment to pushing creative boundaries while staying true to their roots. It serves as both a standalone piece of art and a tantalizing introduction to the sonic journey their upcoming album promises to deliver. With its unforgettable hooks, striking instrumentation, and profound lyrics, the track is a perfect reflection of the versatility and artistry that define Anima Inside.

As the band prepares for the release of their next full-length record, “Alien” stands as a bold statement of intent, showcasing their ability to innovate while maintaining the essence of what has made them one of the most recognized names in South American rock. Keep an eye on Anima Inside as they gear up for what promises to be an extraordinary 2025, and don’t miss “Alien” now available on all major streaming platforms.

DEAD BOYS Guitarist And Co-Founder Cheetah Chrome Clears The Air

Following a whirlwind week of anger, misinformation, speculation and misunderstandings surrounding the forthcoming Dead Boys album, guitarist and co-founder Cheetah Chrome is setting the record straight in an exclusive interview with PunkNews.org.

The new, yet-to-be-titled album, recorded alongside longtime friends and punk legends Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols), Clem Burke (Blondie), and James Williamson (the Stooges), has sparked a storm of controversy. At the center of the debate is the claim by a former touring band member that the album employs artificial intelligence (A.I.) to “bring back” the band’s iconic frontman Stiv Bators.

But, as Cheetah explains, “All I wanted to do was celebrate the days of CBGBs—when punk was punk.”

In his conversation with PunkNews publisher John Gentile, Cheetah addressed the issue head-on, stating:

“The time to stop A.I. was back in 1990! Nobody should have ever bought a cellphone. It’s been a component in society for like 30 years! You can adapt and use it in legitimate ways.”

And that’s exactly what Cheetah has done. He revealed the story behind the album’s use of technology:

“We [found] a song called ‘You Don’t Really Love Me.’ It’s Stiv’s last full song that sounds like a performance. It sounds like it’s a record. After that, there’s nothing. We used A.I. to restore Stiv’s vocals. We didn’t cut or paste or edit it. We only used A.I. to restore it and put it in the mix so you can hear it.

“I don’t want to just fake someone’s performance. I can’t have that.”

The integration of A.I. on this album has sparked comparisons to other groundbreaking moments in music history, such as the Mellotron replacing orchestras, the advent of sampling, and the rise of digital recording. As Cleopatra Records founder Brian Perera puts it:

“The Dead Boys should be celebrated for making history as the first punk act to embrace A.I. Just like punk thrived on pissing off grown-ups, this move challenges the status quo.

“This isn’t about replacing the past—it’s about preserving it. It’s about honoring the chaotic, untamed legacy of a frontman who defined an era. For a band like the Dead Boys, who thrived on pushing boundaries, this is the ultimate act of rebellion. They’re using A.I. to do what punk has always done best: make people uncomfortable, start conversations, and create something unforgettable.

“When people are mad, it means you’re onto something. When they say, ‘That’s not real music,’ it means you’re pushing boundaries. That’s the spirit of rock ’n’ roll. That’s the ethos of punk—and it’s exactly what the Dead Boys have always believed. If you’re not making people uncomfortable, you’re not doing it right.”

And the Dead Boys? They’ve always done it right.

The band’s new album, scheduled for release in 2025, will crown a series of acclaimed archival releases showcasing their fiery legacy during 1977-78. These include electrifying live recordings from CBGBs in New York (the legendary “Dead Dolls” show) and San Francisco, as well as early sessions for their second LP, We Have Come For Your Children, and more.

CHECK OUT THE DEAD BOYS HERE

Adding to the excitement, Cheetah Chrome has teamed up with modern punk icons 69 Eyes for a blistering new rendition of the Dead Boys’ classic anthem “Sonic Reducer,” available now on 7-inch vinyl and all streaming platforms.

Swedish thrash and melodic death metal band VILT strives to take the Scandinavian sound to new heights. Through aggressive riffs, fast drums, and intense vocal performances they have already established a unique signature style. Following the success of their two-track single Adversary in 2022, which led to a performance at In Flames’ Dalhalla Brinner festival, VILT released the EP …To Mourn The Death Of A Stranger in 2024. Now, they’re gearing up for their debut album, with the first single Crown of Thorns as a powerful preview.

Stream the single at this location.

VILT’s upcoming album is a raw and relentless letter to a fractured past. Between guttural aggression and haunting melodies, the album is a battle cry to the younger self—a figure clinging to borrowed beliefs and fragile personas. Through towering riffs and soul-ripping growls, VILT tears down the illusions of what they once thought defined them. The upcoming album is personal yet universal, a tribute to the limitless potential within us all.

“‘Crown of Thorns’ is the opening track on our debut album and sets the tone for the entire journey ahead. The album is our love letter to life – a raw and reflective tribute to both the highs and lows, with a more mature, sharper attitude. The song is about how our experiences shape us and about breaking the chains of old patterns to grow and become something greater.” – VILT
