On his new album, ”Origins of Water”, Martin Rubashov (known from Nolavær, that features AndersFridén from In Flames) delves deep into the essence of water, exploring its duality as both a life-giving force and a harbinger of destruction. Through a mesmerizing blend of melodies and lyrics, Rubashov invites listeners on a journey to uncover the secrets hidden within the fluid embrace of nature’s most precious resource.

Pre-order the album here: https://despotz.bigcartel.com/artist/martin-rubashov

With his new album he is collaborating with “Naturskyddsföreningen”. The vinyl will shed light on the work that Naturskyddsföreningen does, with information about the organization and the importance of water on the backside of the vinyl. With every sold vinyl, Martin and Despotz Records will donate a cut of the profits to the organization.

“Origins Of Water is an album where I’ve placed a lot of focus on water. It has always fascinated me, as it has many others. Water is incredibly important, so isn’t it strange that we pollute it so much? I was browsing the website of the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation, reading quite a bit, and thought it would be fantastic to do a small collaboration with them.”

Read more about Naturskyddsföreningen here: https://www.naturskyddsforeningen.se/

About his third single he had this to say:

“Elemental is about being left in the forest and discovering that even there, you can find answers to many things. It’s about returning to yourself.
I named the song after I recorded the guitars because I wanted to create something that reminded me of when I was a teenager. Fast guitars. Something elemental that I found within myself.”

From the tranquil trickle of a babbling brook, the hidden mires and to the open sea, each track on the album captures a different facet of water’s enigmatic character. Drawing inspiration from personal experiences and universal truths, Rubashov weaves a narrative that transcends time and space, touching upon themes of renewal, loss, and the interconnectedness of all living things.

At its core, Origins of Water is a meditation on humanity’s relationship with the natural world. Through haunting melodies and evocative lyrics, Rubashov confronts the harsh reality of water’s exploitation and pollution, urging listeners to contemplate the consequences of their actions and strive for a more harmonious existence with the planet.

From the haunting track ”Mires” to the anthemic “Elemental” each track on Origins of Water serves as a poignant reminder of the fragility and resilience of life. Guitar driven and thought-provoking lyrics, the album stands as a testament to the power of music to inspire change and ignite the soul.

As listeners immerse themselves in the ethereal soundscape of Origins of Water, they are transported to a realm where time stands still, and the boundaries between the physical and spiritual worlds blur. In this transcendent space, Rubashov invites us to confront our deepest fears and desires, ultimately emerging transformed and renewed, like a drop of water returning to the vast ocean of existence.

The new single “Elemental” is out now via Despotz Records. His new album “Origins Of Water” will be released March 21, 2025, on digital and physical media.

Emerging from the heart of India’s thriving yet unorthodox metal scene, Godless has steadily climbed to the pinnacle of the country’s death metal scene. But it’s not their experimental innovations that have set them apart—rather, it’s their unapologetic dedication to pure, high-octane, thrash-infused death metal. With their ferocious energy and no-holds-barred approach, they’ve become a standout force in the global extreme metal landscape.

Formed in mid-2015 in Hyderabad, Godless was founded by a group of seasoned musicians who had already made their mark on the Indian metal scene. Though their name might suggest a nihilistic, uncompromising spirit, it’s the band’s raw and unrelenting sound that truly defines them. From their very inception, Godless has drawn upon the rich heritage of old-school metal while constantly evolving their sound—often delving into thrash, death, and beyond.

The band made their debut with Centuries of Decadence, a blistering four-track EP released in May 2016 through Transcending Obscurity Records. Mixed and mastered by Joe Haley of Psycroptic, the EP was met with widespread acclaim, securing features in Rolling Stone India, Terrorizer, XXL Rock, No Clean Singing, Metal Wani, Brave Words, and Dead Rhetoric. The release quickly cemented Godless as a rising force in the Indian death metal scene.

In 2017, the band had the honor of supporting iconic acts like Psycroptic and Jeff Loomis on their Indian tours, gaining invaluable exposure and growing their fanbase. Fuelled by this momentum, they returned to the studio in early 2018 to record Swarm, a vicious death-thrash EP that featured a guest appearance by former Obscura guitarist Tom “Fountainhead” Geldschlager. The EP was recorded and mixed at Poland’s legendary Hertz Studio, known for its work with giants like Vader, Behemoth, and Decapitated.

In 2018, Godless triumphed in the Metal Battle India competition, earning them a coveted spot to perform at Wacken Open Air—one of the world’s largest metal festivals. This international debut marked the band’s first major milestone on the global stage. Following a packed 2019 that included a successful India tour, a four-week European tour, and a memorable Nepal tour, the band set their sights on even greater achievements.

In November 2021, Godless unleashed their highly anticipated debut LP, States of Chaos. Mixed and mastered once again at Hertz Studio, the album delivers eight ferocious tracks of relentless thrash and death metal. States of Chaos quickly garnered praise from fans and critics alike, landing the band at the top of Bandcamp’s global charts for both thrash (#1) and death metal (#3). The album earned widespread acclaim from outlets such as Unite Asia, Metal Injection, and Invisible Oranges, and was featured by Rolling Stone India as one of the top 10 Indian albums of 2021. States of Chaoswas also nominated for “Album of the Year” by Metal Injection, and recognized by Bandcamp as one of the best metal releases of November 2021.

Now, with a lineup consisting of Abbas Razvi (bass), Nikhil Rajkumar (drums), Moiz Mustafa (guitar), and Nangsan Lyngwa (vocals), Godless is already deep into the creation of their next record. The band has an upcoming India tour in 2025, followed by a return to Europe in April and May for more intense live performances that are sure to continue their ascent.

In a genre where innovation is often as prized as tradition, Godless stands out by staying true to the roots of death metal, while simultaneously pushing the boundaries of their sound. The chaos is only just beginning.

Autøne released their fabulous new single ‘Medusa‘ on 31st January. An up tempo rocker with soaring melodies, this is definitely a song to showcase the talents of this up & coming North Wales band, & is definitely one for fans of the likes of Halestorm, Tonight Alive & Paramore.

Autøne was founded by lead singer and songwriter Jasmine Roberts. At the age of 19, Jasmine wrote and fully funded the first EP which was recorded in 2016 at the motor museum studios in Liverpool. Producer Al Groves (Bring Me The Horizon) beautifully tied together 3 songs along with Jasmine to create the ‘Emerge’ EP. Upon self release, the leading single ‘Accentuate And Determinate’ reached a rather fabulous 17th position on the iTunes rock charts and the song received airplay from BBC introducing and stations in America and Australia.

In 2023, the first single of the new era ‘Home’ was released. This song showcased a softer side to Jasmine’s writing, but fuelled her desire to write a full album. In April 2023 Autøne gained the attention of Youth, a Grammy award winning producer and bassist for Killing joke and the band were offered an opening slot on his North West tour. Autøne are now recording their full length album in Stiwdio Sain in North Wales, working with Aled Hughes who produced their last single ‘Home’.

Medusa is the first single from the upcoming album and is out now. Punchy guitars, a hard hitting rhythm section and anthemic melodies topped off with catchy hooks, ‘Medusa’  represents what is to come with the upcoming summer release.

Autøne is: Jasmine Roberts, Sion Jones and Sam Green.
