Falun, Sweden-based Curse of Cain have released a first single taken off their sophomore studio album and the follow-up to 2023’s self-titled, impressive debut. The yet untitled new offering will continue where “Curse of Cain” left off, and is supposed to be released in autum 2025 via ROAR.

A music video for “Feel the Pain”, the first harbinger of the band’s new album, is now premiering below. “Feel the Pain is about the moments that stretch into eternity,“ Timekeeper (Guitars) comments. “Every second of suffering carries the weight of time, but also the promise that it will pass.”

The Pirate (Bass/Vocals) reveals: “Feel the Pain” is my story – five knee surgeries and a lot of suffering, woven into the Curse of Cain universe. Misery has its uses. This one’s deeply personal to me.”

Danish death metal/metallic hardcore outfit LIFESICK is pleased to kick off the year with a new video for “Peace Through Superior Firepower.” The track comes by way of the band’s critically lauded Loved By None, Hated By All full-length, released last Fall on Metal Blade Records.

LIFESICK manifests brutal and brutally honest songs with lyrics inspired by the turbulent nature of life. Musically influenced by Swedish death metal, the band’s authentic and explosive mixture of crushing tones and modern breakdowns create an uncompromising sound and vision.

Comments the band on “Peace Through Superior Firepower,” “The idea of trying to spread peace around the world with bombs and guns is one of the most bizarre aspects of the human race. Some of us are raised with love, and a subtle hint of hate for others. This song features heavy and catchy guitar riffs, with plenty of sing-along vocal parts. LIFESICK was forged in Fredericia, Denmark in 2015. After three full-lengths of increasing weight and intensity, 2023’s Life And Other Lies EP brought the band’s sobering death/metallic hardcore to Metal Blade Records, where they have come of age with the kaleidoscopic fury and ironclad gloom of Loved By None, Hated By All.

As with previous offerings, the LP was recorded by Jacob Bredahl at his Dead Rat facility. This time Bredahl’s role expanded beyond engineering, helping to shape and revise new material before twiddling a single knob. “He came down to our rehearsal room where we played all the songs for him live, so he could add his touch to each song or edit stuff that we might have been a little blind to from playing the songs too much. This was the first time we did this, and it was very effective.”

Mixing was farmed out to Taylor Young at The Pit, “to give it a different touch or nuance from our previous releases,” while the tracks were handed to noise collective John Cxnnor, “to enhance the album with sound design and samples throughout every song, to better unify the album. We provided them with all the songs, along with keywords about the lyrical themes and the album artwork. With this information, they created unique dark industrial samples that perfectly fit the songs and our vision for the album.”

The results ring loud and clear from this tumultuous masterwork of bleak aggro beauty. Loved By None, Hated By All is unquestionably the band’s finest recording to date which is no easy feat considering the compulsive force of previous releases — there is some special spark of magic at work here.

Perfect Plan unveil their new single and accompanying video “Heart Of A Lion”, the title track from the upcoming studio album, “Heart Of A Lion”, set for release on February 28th, 2025, via Frontiers Music Srl.

Lead singer Kent Hilli describes the title track by saying: “Heart Of A Lion” is inspired by our Swedish football hero Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his story and career. A magnificent football player with a very inspiring story. I can relate to the struggles he had as a youth growing up in Sweden turning his setbacks and people talking him down to fuel for development and reaching higher. The passion, ambition and drive he has is truly one of a kind. He also has the Lion as his “spirit animal” which – together with his unique drive – inspired me for the lyrics and theme of the song”.

Talking about the album, he states: “The new album is once again showcasing that we have developed and matured as a band in terms of songwriting and production. The melodies, riffs and hooks that we have created on this album are overall the best we’ve done so far. I am extremely proud of what we have accomplished. Although our main influences like Survivor, Foreigner, Europe, Whitesnake are still shining through, there’s that unmistakable Perfect Plan sound that is the driving center of it all. And I think we have strengthened that sound and identity.

“With “Brace For Impact” we wanted to discover a new heavier and “in your face” sound but on this album we are back to the sound of the first 2 albums, with more keyboards and bigger sound taking you back to the 80’s with a modern touch and feel. On this album we once again teamed up with Mårten Eriksson, whom we worked with on “Time For A Miracle”, Hilli adds.“Mårten brought his extreme talent to the songs both co-producing with us and also did he mixing. Mårtens long experience as both songwriter and producer in the pop-industry brought so much to the table and the end result is simply fantastic. If you liked our previous albums, you are gonna love “Heart Of A Lion!”

Perfect Plan’s fourth studio album, “Heart Of A Lion” marks the culmination of the band’s musical production to date. Over the course of their first trilogy of albums, “All Rise”, “Time For A Miracle” and “Brace for Impact”, the Swedes have quickly established themselves as a new gold standard in not only the Scandinavian melodic rock genre, but the melodic rock genre as a whole.

Kent Hilli is a one of a kind singer that gained world reputation almost from the start. His class, range, tone and heartfelt expression caught the attention of his heroes Giant, who picked him to sing on their latest album Shifting Time, and saw Kent releasing 2 solo albums in 2021 (“The Rumble”) and 2023 (“Nothing Left To Lose”).

Completing the line up, Rolf Nordström, guitarist extraordinaire, Mats Byström, the music mastermind who plays bass and form a solid, rock hard base with drummer Fredrik Forsberg. The subtle textures, so important in AOR, come from Leif Ehlin’s keyboards.

“Heart Of A Lion” is a powerful statement from the band offering the absolute best songwriting and production ever: a strong offering, with roots very well planted in the 80’s AOR sound. Produced by the band in collaboration with Mårten Eriksson, the band was determined to top the musical results they reached until now and took a few months – from the end of 2024 – to come out with the right musical material.

Sometimes the stars align, and the result is absolutely stunning: a perfect balance of energy and unforgettable melodies is what you are going to find in “Heart Of A Lion”.

The band from Estonia is delivering their third single with “Out For Blood” while continuously teasing their upcoming album, which is set for a spring release this year.

“Out For Blood” equals almost a battle cry with its raw, hard-hitting lyrics which encapsulate a relentless pursuit of justice while overcoming influences and perception from the outside world. About Pridian
Initially formed in 2018 by guitarists Jörg-Erik Hanikat and Martin Randalu, drummer Robert Leht, and completed by singer Laur Lindmäe, who joined in 2021, Estonian band Pridian quickly evolved their very own style and take on modern metal. Having released an album called “The Rotten Unknown” under their name ÆØNS in 2021, the band was nominated for the “Metal Album of The Year” at the Estonian Music Awards and built the foundation of what’s to come under their new name.
