STEAMACHINE Unleash + Stream New EP “Post-apocalyptic Silence”

Steamachine was formed in 2020 by Krystian “Juras” Jurkiewicz (guitar, vocals) and Konrad “Gałązek” Gałązka (guitar). The current lineup also includes Dominik “Biały” Gałązka on bass and Olek Prusinowski on drums and backing vocals. Since their debut, the band has gained a reputation for their relentless energy and genre-defying sound, attracting fans from various corners of metal.

Following the success of their previous releases, including “The Book Of War” and “City Of Death“, Steamachine continues to captivate audiences with its innovative approach to metal. The band is known for blending subgenres and experimenting with sounds, and the new EP further solidifies their position as an innovative force on the metal scene.

October 2024

Steamachine, a dynamic force in the metal scene, announces the release of its upcoming EP titled “Post-apocalyptic Silence“, continuing its journey toward transcending musical boundaries. This new release, which features three powerful tracks, immerses listeners in a world of desolation, survival, and inner transformation. “Post-apocalyptic Silence” represents another chapter in the band’s evolution, blending elements of groove metal, metalcore, and post-apocalyptic storytelling. With a distinctive combination of intense riffs, powerful vocals, and melancholic melodies, Steamachine transports listeners to a dystopian landscape where perseverance and personal discovery come to the forefront.

The EP opens with the titular track, “Post-apocalyptic Silence“, where a lone wanderer traverses the desolate wastelands of a ruined world, guided by an unending, melancholic melody. The song addresses themes of strength and the search for hope in a desolate world.

“Desert War” depicts the brutal struggle for survival in an unrelenting desert, capturing the intensity of clashes over the remnants of peace. The powerful lyrics and heavy instrumentation of this track reflect the pain and desperation of a war-torn world.

In “Survival Instinct“, Steamachine delves into the internal battle of the protagonist, who fights to retain their humanity in the face of monstrous transformations. The raw emotions conveyed in this song illustrate the psychological effects of survival, blurring the lines between human and beast.

Comment from the band:
“Post-apocalyptic Silence is not just music for us; it’s a manifestation of our emotions and experiences. We wanted to create something that moves and inspires while prompting reflection on what survival means in difficult times. We hope our listeners find a part of themselves in this EP and can feel what we felt during its creation.” – said Krystian “Juras” Jurkiewicz, vocalist and guitarist.

EP was released on November 14, 2024 and is available for listening on all popular streaming platforms:

THE HELLACOPTERS Release New Single + Video ‘Leave A Mark’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on November 18, 2024
Posted in: News. Tagged: THE HELLACOPTERS. Leave a comment

High-energy rock’n’roll royalty, THE HELLACOPTERS, have graced us with the first single from their upcoming brand new studio album Overdriver, which will see the light of day on January 31st, 2025, via Nuclear Blast Records. The aptly titled track ‘Leave A Mark‘ unites two styles that The Hellacopters have become known for over the course of their 30-year career – the full-blown guitar assault reminiscent of The Stooges and MC5 as well as the anthemic, hook-laden approach to rock’n’roll, which is topped with a hint of melancholy.

Less than three years after their triumphant, chart-storming comeback record, Eyes Of Oblivion, which entered on #1 in their home country and on #3 in Germany, Sweden’s most consistently great rock outfit is back with another banger of an album. Overdriver was recorded at Strawberry Studio & The Honk Palace and is the first HELLACOPTERS album entirely produced by Nicke Andersson. As you might expect from a HELLACOPTERS album it’s filled to the brim with roaring guitars and earth-shattering grooves, fist-raising energy and anthemic choruses, while keeping the variety richer than ever before. The striking cover for Overdriver was created by German illustrator Max Löffler.

As of today, you can pre-order Overdriver on LP as well as CD. On top of the regular editions there’s a Ltd. Digipak, incl. a patch, and a Ltd. Deluxe LP with a bonus 12”. Both special products contain two bonus tracks. More info on available formats below.

Coinciding with today’s single drop, a music video for ‘Leave A Mark‘ has been released. The video was directed and edited by Emil Klinta with whom the band has already worked on their most recent videos. You can watch the clip below.

And since they’re also celebrating their 30th anniversary in 2025, THE HELLACOPTERS will have a few more tricks up their sleeves to keep you boys and girls in line, so keep your eyes peeled! First off will be a run of Overdriver release shows in Scandinavia. Please scroll to the bottom for all confirmed dates.

BONG-RA Inks Deal with DMP, New Album “Black Noise” Out in 2025

Posted by tarjavirmakari on November 18, 2024
Posted in: News. Tagged: BONG-RA. Leave a comment

Founded in the mid-1990s, the always unconventional BONG-RA are a central project from Jason Köhnen (THE LOVECRAFT SEXTET, THE KILIMANJARO DARKJAZZ ENSEMBLE, CELESTIAL SEASON). After emerging with groundbreaking 1998 debut “New Millennium Dreadz“, BONG-RA swiftly cemented its status as a pioneer of Breakcore, an extreme form of electronica delivering a relentlessly rhythmic noise onslaught in defiance of all norms.

Over the past 25 years, BONG-RA have crafted a diverse body of consistently challenging and experimental work, toured globally and graced some of the world’s most prestigious festivals, such as Glastonbury, Lowlands, Dour and more.

After a brief hiatus, BONG-RA has now reawakened, returning to explore and expand upon its Metal origins. To pursue this evolution, BONG-RA has followed Jason Köhnen‘s other entity THE LOVECRAFT SEXTET in signing with Debemur Morti Productions, and a new album will be released in 2025.

Köhnen reflects on BONG-RA‘s evolving direction:

“I guess you can see it as a circle/cycle completing itself. The BONG-RA project has always been deeply rooted in Metal, and was basically an electronic interpretation of Grindcore if you look at the polyrhythmic electronic beats. It definitely has the same energy, rawness and rebellion as Metal. My early roots were partly coming from Grindcore, as is also noticeable in the “Black/White” release of THE LOVECRAFT SEXTET. BONG-RA had more Industrial and Death Metal influences: SCORN, GODFLESH, GGFH, PITCH SHIFTER, FALL OF BECAUSE and so forth. The gradual shift with BONG-RA from electronics to Metal started around 2018 when the more Doomjazz album “Antediluvian” was recorded and “Meditations” later received praising reviews for this style. With the forthcoming “Black Noise” album the shift has gone more towards the glitch mechanical electronics, and the Doomjazz style transformed into THE LOVECRAFT SEXTET sound, thus completing this circle. It’s the first album with this specific style, but I am pretty sure old and new BONG-RA listeners should enjoy the rawness.“

Listen to a small snippet from the forthcoming album here!

Going forward, BONG-RA will perform live as a trio, joined by guitarists Attila Kovacs and Botond Fogl to deliver an authentic and raw Metal energy onstage.

Jason elaborates:

“Attila and Botond are band-members in the Doom Metal band which I have with my wife (Martina Hórvath) called THE ANSWER LIES IN THE BLACK VOID. Attila and Botond are the amazing guitarists in this band, and it was a no-brainer to have them be part of the new version of BONG-RA. But they are only part of the live shows, the composing is still a one-man operation.“

The following 2025 BONG-RA live dates – playing alongside THE ANSWER LIES IN THE BLACK VOID – are already confirmed:

07.03 Budapest, HU [Durer Kert]
13.03 Timisoara, RO [M2]
14.03 Cluj, RO [Hardward Club]
15.03 Bucharest, RO [Soundart Fest]

27.03 Drachten, NL [Iduna]
28.03 Deventer, NL [Walhalla]
29.03 Terneuzen, NL [De Pit]

More info about the forthcoming album “Black Noise” will be unveiled in due time.

VM to Release Debut Album “There Is Something More – We Are Blind” on December 20th

Emerging rock force VM is proud to unveil his highly anticipated debut album, “There Is Something More – We Are Blind,” arriving December 20, 2024, via Epictronic.

A Journey Through Grunge and Beyond

This 12-track masterpiece is a culmination of Valentyn Matvieiev’s (VM) artistic quest. Since February 2022, VM poured his heart and soul into the project, channeling raw emotions and unyielding determination. Even amidst the immense challenges faced by his home country, Ukraine, VM persevered, crafting a soundscape that transcends borders and resonates with the human spirit.

VM collaborated with the talented Igor Antonov, who brought his production prowess to life on the album. Additionally, the captivating vocals of Olena Kalytovska and the magic violin of Natalya Yackevich add another layer of depth to the musical tapestry.

While staying true to his signature “grunge/avant-garde” style, VM pushes boundaries on “There Is Something More – We Are Blind.” Building upon the minimalist foundation laid in his debut EP “2Push2Relax,” the album explodes with rich sonic textures. Violins and ethnic percussion weave seamlessly into the grungy core, creating a sound that is both familiar and refreshingly innovative.

The album’s enigmatic title, “There Is Something More – We Are Blind,” embodies the profound human experience of searching for meaning beyond the tangible. It’s a testament to the power of music to capture the ineffable – the emotions and experiences that defy easy explanation.
